Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

As the Liberal, Main Stream Media (MSM) fixates its attention on a "Trumped-up Plagiarism Controversy", Jamiel Shaw Sr. states the BLUNT TRUTH regarding the horror of "Illegal Alien Brown on Black Violence", that took the life of his namesake Son, on the Opening Night of the 2016 Republican Party Convention.
Jamiel Shaw Sr. speaking at the Republican Party Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
** With no apologies to the Talking Point-repeating cronies of the local Democratic Party Establishment Machine, we interrupt your tired attempt to echo the Main Stream Media's "Trumped-up Plagiarism Controversy", to give Witness, via the emotional testimony of a grieving Father, on the Inconvenient Truth that is the on-going "Brown on Black/Black on Brown Gang Violence" that took the life of Jamiel Shaw Jr.
A city, state and country, that has been fixated on a supposed epidemic of alleged Police-instigated killings of young Black Americans (along with the Terrorist-like attacks , targeting Law Enforcement), would find it wise to review the emotional Testimonial of Jamiel Shaw Sr.
Blunting, young men of color (along with innocent bystanders) are still dying in South LA, due to an up-string in ethnic-rooted gang violence ......., and NOT because of targeted Police Killings.
The FACT that Jamiel Shaw Jr. at the hands of a Illegal Alien Gang Member, who should of been deported or placed on an "ICE Hold" (a protocol supported by the likes of Gloria Molina), is a Policy Issue that merits a "color-blind discussion", not muted due to Political Correctness ..........., as evident via the silence of Public Officials regarding "Brown and Black/Black on Brown Violence".
CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar a still-smoldering Da Vinci Complex Fire
** The LA Weekly (aka "The Weedleaf of Record") was timely (Sunday before the RNC Convention) in outing controversial Downtown Developer  Geoff Palmer's "Financial Support" of Donald Trump's Presidential Campaign.
While Scribe Hillel Aron practice due diligence via incorporating pertinent links to Palmer's past controversial developer antics, missing is any mention of his "favorite PLUM Committee Chairperson", who showed more haste in urging a swift investigation of the Palmer-owned Da Vinci Complex Fire ........in comparison to the racially-motivated Fire Bombings of African American Families.

Saturday Thoughts on the "Selfie Politics" of Racial Identity/Immigration

The blowback over the recent Charleston, South Carolina Church Massacre and GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's Generalization of Mexican Illegal Aliens takes on a local dimension.
When will we heed the words of MLK and forgo the Politics of Racial Identity?
** EVENING UPDATE: Please give the courtesy of listen to this evening's KRLA 870 AM Randy Economy Show at 8 PM, as he interviews Republican Assemblyman Matthew Harper regarding colleague's Roger Hernandez's Act of Intolerance directed at him during a recent committee hearing---Scott Johnson.

A blogging bit of disclosure on this outer wise, beautiful Saturday afternoon, due to a recent allergic reaction, a certain blogger has taken on a physical "Red Neck-like Persona", but contrary to the past rhetoric of lucrative, one percent Charter Educators/Indoctrinators Mr. and Mrs Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson, our musings have been, and will continue to be predicated on the beliefs of MLK that we should judge the subjects of our commentary, based upon the content (or lack of, in the case of Mark(os)/Minnie) their respective character ......., and not skin color.
There was once a time when a evil act of terror or the utterances of a ego-driven persona, were kept within the focus of the actual event (ie. lets not make it more than what it is), but in the "Age of the Selfie", our inner-narcissist cravings (especially among the political class), prompt many of us to become part of the act ........, which removes the victims (and the facts) from their needed focus of attention.
In the wake of the vile murders of nine Americans (of African Descent) by a solitary, deranged young man in Charleston, South Carolina, what was a remarkable, empowering moment of faith-driven, show of character by the families of the victims, was turned into an intolerant spectacle (with attached political opportunism) of historical recrimination as the practitioners of Racial Identity Politics sought to cleanse from the cultural landscape, "hijacked symbols of hatred", that were a byproduct of a tragic American bloodletting ......, that later led to a forgotten time of national reconciliation.
But unfortunately for Congresswoman Hahn, her "Selfie Moment" was usurped by the local visit yesterday of "Mr. UberSelfie", supposed Republican Presidential Candidate (** who has given The Clintons mucho dinero) Donald Trump.
Trump, who espoused his own factually-challenged brand of Racial Identity Politics, by his recent generalization of Mexican Illegal Aliens, was given some inconvenient validation, via the San Francisco Murder of Kate Steinle, that repeatedly-deported (and Sanctuary City-protected) Illegal Aliens do kill.
Its was also an inconvenient truth to the Los Angeles Racial Identity Politics Supporters of LA's Sanctuary City policies, that high-school student Jamiel Shaw Jr. became a victim of Illegal Alien Gang Member Pedro Espinosa in 2008, igniting a debate over LAPD's Special Order 40 and its cooperation with ICE. Jamiel Shaw Sr. has come out in support of Donald Trump on the issue of Illegal Immigration and is schedule to introduce Trump today, at a rally in Phoenix, Arizona.

Yet, back in California, Sacramento politicos, led by "State Senate President Pro Tem Kevin De Leon the First" orchestrated a "Selfie Moment" of recrimination against Trump (and Senator Ted Cruz), by announcing legislation that would disinvest California from any Trump-owned fiscal entity.

......., meanwhile another victim of a Illegal Alien Murderer, and the inconvenient facts of a fail Sanctuary City Policy, become mere footnotes as the divisive rhetoric of Racial Identity Politics continues on across the choreographed, selfie, cybersphere.
** Evening Update: Jamiel Shaw Sr. and sister Althea are part of Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's Press Conference with families of people killed by Illegal Aliens.

District Attorney to seek the Death Penalty in Murder of Jamiel Shaw Jr.

"In memory of Jamiel Shaw Jr."
According to KRLA 870 AM, the Los Angeles County District Attorney will seek the Death Penalty in the murder of Los Angeles High School Student Athlete, Jamiel Shaw Jr.
Pedro Espinosa, a illegal alien gangmember, is being tried in the murder of Shaw Jr. Espinosa's immigration status at the time of the murder, became the catalysis in the efforts of many to place "Jamiel's Law" on the ballot. Jamiel's Law would of overturn LAPD's "Special Order 40" which states that LAPD officers cannot ask for the immigration status in the course of questioning "persons of interest" in criminal investigations.
The cause of Jamiel's Law galvanize local talk radio and spur debate in the political bloggersphere.
Jamiel Shaw Sr. will be appearing on KFI's "John and Ken Show" in the last hour (6:00 PM) and on KRLA's "Kevin James Show" this evening (9:00PM-1:00AM).

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

Oh no! Digital billboards featuring Ellen Degeneres are igniting fires of discontent, giving a Raison d'être to the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council for the first time since Jason Lyon stirred the pot.  In the meantime a cash-strapped City of Los Angeles has figured out how to make a buck off the situation.

David Horowitz' Front Page Magazine has a piece on Jamiel and Anita Shaw and their mission to pass Jamiel's law.  Another 23,000 signatures are needed by December 5th.  Your help is urgently needed to help make the goal.

All the votes are yet to be counted but Measure R is still inching towards passage.  LAist has a rundown of the wish list of public transit projects that politicians would like to build with the increased sales tax.  Question: what happens when the bad economy and rises in other taxes fails to bring in the expected revnue?

Goofy old liberal Bill Boyarsky - among those waiting for the New Deal and the second coming of Franklin Delano Roosevelt - thinks the election of Obama and the passage of big boondoggle taxpayer government works projects will be the water that lifts all boats. Problem is Bill, this isn't 1932 and the economy works a lot differently than when Duke Ellington sang It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing).

Jamiel's Law Gets Support of the Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council

Disclosure: I am a member of the Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council Board of Directors.

Wednesday evening Jamiel and Anita Shaw spoke before the Board of Directors of the Mid-Town North Hollywood Neighborhood Council, re-telling the tragic murder of their 17 year old son Jamiel and their efforts to pass Jamiel's Law, which will provide one tool against ending gang violence.

The Board passed unanimously passed a resolution is support of Jamiel's Law when it comes to the ballot as well as called on the City Council to move a similar measure sponsored by Council Member Dennis Zine out of Jack Weiss' Public Safety Committee so it may proceed to a full vote by the Council.

Jamiel and Anita Shaw speak to the Midtown North Hollywood Neighborhood Council

At the same meeting, the Council also approved a resolution I authored offering our support for the Los Angeles City Council's position in opposition to Proposition 8, a measure on the November California ballot that would overturn a recent court decision allowing same-sex couples to marry legally.

A previous decision by DONE and the City Attorney has ruled that Neighborhood Councils may not take positions on state or federal legislation however we determined that our Board could take a position supporting the City Council's position.

Leimert Aftermath: Throw Bernie Under the Bus?

As we continue to dig deeper into the raid on Leimert Park Sunday and alleged harrassment of the Shaw Family by City officials, something kept coming up.  The desire to place responsibility for the raid on Council Member Bernard Parks.

According to Zuma Dogg, police officers told him that the City Attorney was directed by the Council office (Bernard Parks) to conduct the raid on the park.  However, Council District 8 officials told Zuma Dogg that the office had nothing to do with the raid and had no direct knowledge of it beforehand.  Councilmember Parks Chief of Staff, Bernie Parks, Jr., told me directly that his office had no involvement or prior knowledge; when the news reports hit Monday was the first he was aware of it.

However this in direct conflict with the previous statements of an LAPD officer and a City report obtained by a source to the Sister City that listed Council District 8 as one of the participating agencies in the task force.

So obviously someone is not telling the truth here. Now this is where I digress into speculation.  After talking with Bernard Parks, Jr. as well as a few other individuals I believe that Parks' office is telling the truth about their involvement.  If the Council office has involved I doubt they would lie about it.  On the other hand officials of the LAPD Southwest Division have already demonstrated inconsistencies in their comments on the matter.

It is well known that there is no love lost between Council Member Parks, a former LAPD Chief and current Chief William Bratton.  Chief Bratton as well is a strong advocate against Jamiel's Law and has been critical of the Shaws and their supporters.  What better way to kill two birds with one stone - rattle the Shaws and finger Bernie for the effort.

Of course there is no evidence yet that Chief Bratton was involved in the planning of the raid nor that the Council office is telling the truth.  But at time when Councilmember Parks needs every Black vote he can get, I don't see him planning a secret police action against the Shaws.

After all, Chief Bratton has endorsed Senator Mark Ridley-Thomas, Parks' opponent for Supervisor.

Report from the "Rally In The Valley"

It was a packed room that greeted the Shaw family, Kevin James and Walter Moore yesterday in the Shoshone Room at Cal State Northridge. The "Rally in the Valley" brought out an enthusiastic crowd eager to hear from Walter, and ready to sign petitions for Jamiel's Law.

It was indeed, quite the rally... the Shaw family receiving standing ovations twice; Walter Moore For Mayor bumper stickers and campaign flyers being scooped up faster than organizers could set them out; Jas' Aunt Althea (the blooming photographer in the family) taking pictures of the crowd (and one of yours truly) and an excitement and energy in the room which was tangible and infectious at times. I was pleased to be able to meet and speak with Jamiel Sr., as well as Aunt Althea. Anita Shaw was there greeting arriving supporters, after setting up a table with pictures of Jas and his family. Walter gave a great speech on the sorry state of the City and once again proved that if the Mayor is ever brave enough to debate Walter Moore -- Villaraigosa doesn't stand a chance.

Once Walter's speech was over, the boxes with petitions for Jamiel's Law were opened and lines formed at different points of the auditorium to either sign or pick up copies of the petition. The crowd patiently waited in long lines for the chance to sign petitions as well as for words (and many hugs) for the Shaw family. For more information on how you can download petitions and instructions on how to collect signatures, please visit JamielsLaw.com

Father Knows Best...

It’s Father’s Day -- a time to give thanks and show some love to the men who have taken on one of the hardest jobs around: Fatherhood. The Sister City would like to give a shout-out to all the loving, caring, hard-working Dads who deserve lots of love and spoiling today.

A few of our favorite local Dads:

Jamiel Shaw, Sr. – Living through the nightmare of losing his beloved son, Jas, Jamiel Sr. did not fade quietly into the pain and desolation of grief and mourning. Instead, he became a pro-active leader in the push to stop the senseless loss of life on the streets of Los Angeles. With the introduction of Jamiel’s Law (pdf file), Jamiel Sr. hopes to spare other families the horror of losing a loved one to violence at the hands of criminals who should not be on the streets of our city. We are also very glad to have Jamiel Sr. here as a contributor at MayorSam's. Our thoughts, prayers, support and love are with you on this day.

Joe Barrett – MayorSam blogger and father of two, Joe B. is the fearless leader of the Sunland-Tujunga Alliance and the No Home Depot Campaign. He is a dedicated and tireless worker for the people of Sunland-Tujunga. Joe Barrett is a fine man with so much heart and soul (and a million fabulous stories about all the great musicians he's worked with), Sunland-Tujungans are extremely lucky to have him on their side. We're extremely lucky to have him here at MayorSam's.

Artur Cybulski & David Krassner -- Partners both personally and professionally, as well as the parents of two beautiful children, Artur and David have contributed to the lives of many kids from all around the Los Angeles area. As directors of Camp Bravo, they have made it possible for young people interested in the performing arts to attend camp in a beautiful outdoor setting (the de Benneville Pines Camp Facility in Angelus Oaks, California). Not only do kids get to camp, but they also get to experience a non-competitive environment in which to immerse themselves in the thrill of performing. Among some of Camp Bravo’s awards: Educational Theatre Association Winner of the National Standing Ovation Award, California Thespian Society Hall of Fame Award, California Educational Theatre Association award for Outstanding Contribution to Educational Theatre. David and Artur can often be found at their children's school, helping with classroom productions, and at special school events -- sharing their amazing theatrical skills to delight of both students and teachers.

Jon Regardie - LA Downtown News Executive Editor Jon Regardie, a bit of a horse racing fan, was recently spotted with his one-year-old daughter in tow at a local restaurant where racing fans have been known to follow ponies. Dad was there to take in the Preakness, and although daughter was clearly calling for the bottle, Jon was adroit enough as a dad to know to withhold the bottle until the race itself. Daughter was getting crankier, but Jon refused to show the bottle until the horses were being loaded into the gate. Then, as the ponies were loading up, Jon then went to the bottle at last. Voila! A quiet and content baby, wire-to-wire!

Robert Cohn – Dude… what are you thinking? A Valley resident, and active member of his community, Robert has agreed to take over as President of the exemplary Beckford Ave. PTA. In the PTA world (which is heavily Mom powered, and in which the ladies don’t always necessarily play nicely together), Rob’s been able to navigate around the landmines of personalities and has comfortably established himself as a leader among us yentas... uhhh, I mean... parents. He’s a stay-at-home dad, active at his temple, and an all-around Good Guy. While his children adore having Daddy around school, and as he is not entirely bad to look at… the Moms enjoy having him around, too.

George Lopez - In 2001, comedian (and dad) George Lopez became the first Latino to have headlined a keystone morning radio slot on an English-language station in LA—the nation’s top radio market. His career quickly shot up from there. A native son of the East Valley (there’s a special plate named after him at the legendary San Fernando tortilleria, Carrillos) George received the 2003 Imagen Vision Award, 2003 Latino Spirit Award for Excellence in Television and the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award. No hacker himself on the golf course, George was a featured celebrity golfer in The 2004 Chrysler Bob Hope Classic and the 2004 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Lopez and his pro partner finished third in the Pebble Beach event.

Gavin Rossdale – What can you say about a young, hot, hands-on Rocker Dad who enjoys being The Daddy while his equally hot, rock-star-fashion-designer/icon-wife takes on the world -- other than “OH MY GOD GAVIN ROSSDALE IS SO HOT HOLDING THAT BABY!” If you’ve ever spied Gavin and young Kingston out and about in L.A., you’ve No Doubt seen his sweet Dad Skills in action. Gavin is one of L.A.’s cutest and most doting Dads in town.

Wil WheatonSelf described “actor, writer, poker player, stepfather, and (relatively) long-time blogger”, Wil Wheaton may be more familiar to you as one of the young actors in the film “Stand by Me”. Wil’s blog, WWdN:In Exile , proves that Geeks, and especially unrepentant Geeky Dads, can be totally and unabashedly adorable. Love, love, love him!

And finally... okay, so maybe technically he's not a father (that we know of) but in answer to the perennial question Who’s Your Daddy? -- In L.A., and especially around City Hall, there is but one answer: Zuma Dogg, beyotch (you better ask somebody)! Many a politico in this city has been pwned by Zuma with his tenacity and refusal to back down from an issue. His willingness to help, many times with issues dealing with kids and schools and the betterment of the pueblos (plus, no one does Journey like Zuma does Journey; damn, homeboy even out-Journey’s Steve Perry!) makes Zuma Dogg the Coolest Daddy-O in town.

To All Sister City Dads Everywhere -- have a great day; you've earned it!

(special Father's Day xoxo's for Mr. Doll and Valley Dad -- love you!)

Jamiel Shaw, Sr. Appears on Full Disclosure

Mayor Sam Blogger and public safety reform activist Jamiel Shaw, Sr. appeared on a recent episode of the public affairs cable program, Full Disclosure. You can view an extended excerpt of the program by clicking here.

It's a fascinating program and shows that Shaw is an articulate spokesman for the movement he represents.

Among the more interesting revelations is that City Councilman Herb Wesson attempted to talk the Shaws out of their protest movement and that during their appearance before the City Council 8th District Councilman and candidate for LA County Supervisor Bernard Parks - whose own granddaughter was an innocent victim of gang violence when she was murdered in 2000 - left the room and would not hear the Shaw's case.

In a related story Jamiel, Sr. himself reports on the petition drive to get Jamiel's Law on the ballot and his meeting with Councilman Dennis Zine where Shaw says that the 3rd District Councilman has declared his support for Jamiel's Law.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Friday

Did anyone read Greg Nelson's last post on CityWatch? I am not really sure what he was talking about; something to the effect of attracting better candidates for the City's Neighborhood Councils having something to do with whether or not the City provides public funding for sports stadiums. If you figure it out; let me know.

The New York Observer is reporting that New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is holding a fund-raiser for Mayor Villaraigosa in the Big Apple next month. No truth to the rumor that Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley is planning a benefit for Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky's mayoral campaign.

We mentioned Bitter Bernie's telephone campaign on behalf of postage stamps; one blogger asks a great question: why didn't Bernie call his constituents before the price of stamps went up? In the meantime, while Bernie was busy telling stakeholders their comments to the Council were not necessary, he received the endorsement of Magic Johnson.

Interesting article in the LA Weekly about the recent State Supreme Court decision permitting gays to marry in California. At the time the case was about to go through "tolerant" Democrats squirmed and wanted to stick it back in the closet. But it was Republican judges that made the difference.

And finally, we teased a new writer here on the blog Thursday. We won't torture you anymore; we're pleased to announce that Jamiel Shaw, Sr. - father of murdered teenager Jamiel Shaw, II - will be joining the blog as a contributor to share his thoughts on a number of issues. Stay tuned for Jamiel's first post very soon.

The Heartfelt Words of a Dad: Jamiel Shaw, Sr. Responds to Smear Campaign

For the last few days, the editorial staff at Mayor Sam has received and rejected numerous slanderous comments trying to make the claim that murdered teenager Jamiel Shaw was a gang member, and hence he was killed because of his gang affiliation, not his race. The pro-Special Order 40 crowd has a strange need to maintain their position by creating this apparent falsehood.

Jamiel Shaw, Sr. has told me that Jamiel was not a gang banger. So has Walter Moore. I believe them.

The person making this claim has no credibility with me or many readers of this blog.

Those who are behind this should be ashamed of themselves. Your tarnishing the memory of a beloved individual, a minor child, who is no longer with us. What did he do to you?

Until I see otherwise, I believe Mr. Shaw. Below are his words that he has asked me to share with you:

To the Person or Persons trying to smear my son:

My son Jamiel A. Shaw, II, (Jas) was a SuperStar Destined for Greatness! The Mayor of Los Angeles spoke these exact words at his last State of the City speech. He was right! My Son was destined for greatness and he is, "A SuperStar"!

It's a shame, that an American Citizen youth, can be gunned down by an illegal alien gang banger, while his mother is fighting a war to defend all of us, and some people have the nerve to try and destroy my son? This makes me angry. My son is the victim! For every person that want to label my son as a hard core gang banger, I can get 100 more that will show that he was not.

Why would some people want to label my son as a gang banger? Why are some people willing to do almost anything to bring my son down? Where is the evidence to support that my son is a gang banger? Michelle Hansee didn't have evidence to prove that he was a gang banger. A spiderman back pack and a belt? I'm not even a lawyer and I know you need more then this.

So where is the evidence?! A Myspace page? I see a picture of my son on myspace making the peace sign...and some words that you say...he said? Please, give me a damn break. Now my son is a hardcore gang banger? Because of a myspace page? Are you kidding me? This is similiar to the picture when Obama was oversees and had on a certain garment. Some people tried to label him as a Muslim. Some people are protecting illegal alien gang bangers and they need my son to be a gang member in order to help their case. But he wasn't! He was and is, innocent!

The person arrested for killing my son is an illegal alien gang banger. A Documented illegal alien, and a documented gang banger. So where is the evidence? Well let's see, "he was release from jail on March 1, 2008 on gun charges. He had prior arrests before March 1, 2008. It is a known fact that he was not born in the United States and he's in the gang database". We all know he wasn't a boy scout. Why doesn't this make you angry? Why would this make you want to smear my son? Are you out killing people too? Are you an illegal alien gang banger? What's up with you?

Twenty eight hours after Pedro Espinoza was released from jail, he's seen in my neighborhood and now my son is dead. Even if my son wrote the words on myspace, where is the proof that Pedro Espinosa saw this? All he saw was a black kid walking. I continue to repeat, why are you trying to convict my son? Why are you defending illegal alien gang bangers? Could it be that you are illegal. Could it be that you are trying to smear my son because you support Special Order 40? Could it be that you are trying to smear my son because you don't want to see Jamiel's law passed? Could it be that you are a gang banger or a gang banger wannabe?

There are people that want to classify all black kids as gang bangers. We're not going to let this happen! The Community will not let this happen! To any parent reading this, if anyone tries to make your child out to be a gang banger and you know that they are not, please speak up! Don't let the system or anyone else try and smear your child! Especially when you child is not able to defend themselves. We will always defend the honor of my beloved son, Jamiel Andre' Shaw, II!

The fact is, my son was born at California Hospital. He was an American Citizen. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. He went to school in the neighborhood. He played sports all over the State. He is a documented athlete. His mother was in the Army fighting a war! I was home taking care of him. His brother loves him very much! His family love and miss him dearly! He was loved by many! My son was gunned down and shot to death! He is an INNOCENT VICTIM. He was gunned down three doors from home. He played on the very street where an illegal gang banger killed him. He was murdered!

This was a HATE CRIME! Anyone trying to bring my son down is someone that is not ready for the facts or the truth. The evidence will prove this and the facts will come out.

There are people that support Special Order 40 and some people don't want Jamiel's Law to pass. Is this why they want to discredit my son? Could this be why they attact Walter Moore and Michael Higby and all of the other people that speak out against illegal immigration? Why are people trying so hard to make my son a gang banger? This is an important question.

Whoever want's to find evidence on my son should talk with the Gang Intervention Unit at LAPD. You should talk with Gang Intervention Specialists. My son was not in a gang database. My son was never arrested. My son was killed while he was on his way home. He was walking and talking on the telephone. He is innocent!

If you have the evidence to prove that my son was a gang banger, then call Pedro Espinoza's defense team and see if they will hire you. Until then, shut the hell up!

Jamiel Sr.

District Attorney Steve Cooley announces changes in Jamiel Shaw Murder Case

Deputy D.A. Michelle Hanisee is out as the lead prosecutor in the Jamiel Shaw Murder Case.

Bowing to the pressure of the Shaw Family after comments by Hanisee, Cooley replaced Hanisee with Bobby Grace and Helene Danadina.

Speculation is still rampant about Shaw Jr. ties to any gang. District Attorney Steve Cooley was evasive when KFI's John and Ken press the issue which Hanisee broached in discussions with the Shaw Family that led to the rift between the two parties.

Cooley for his part reiterated that Pedro Espinosa not Jamiel Shaw Jr. would be the person on trail.

Jamiel Shaw Sr. appearing after Cooley, stated his satisfaction that Hanisee had been replaced.

Preliminary Hearing in this case is schedule for May 15.

Does wearing this make you a Gang Member?

If you are Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee this backpack gives you a alleged reason to insert ethnic/ immigration politics into a murder case.

Killed for walking the street near his home as an American youth, with promise, character, who just happen to be black. The case of Jamiel Shaw Jr. has become the bright beacon pinpointing the "Trojan Horse" of rampant illegal immigration.

But the "Sanctuary of Justice" should not become the protectorate of a "policy of exploitation" that has its roots in greed and results in a breakdown of a society built upon the rule of law.

The murder of Jamiel Shaw Jr. was the result of greed. Greed in the form of a system that drives millions to face death in search of a better life. Greed in form of a political machine that puts the Constitution secondary to the pursuit of absolute power. Greed in the form of ethnic identity that targets community minorities in name of the "RAZA", "RODINA", "HOMELAND" or "HOOD".

Los Angeles sadly is becoming a loose confederation of "CITY STATES" rooted in ethnicity. Racial groups are retracting into "CANTONS" of language, mannerisms, and mores that conflict with a vision of a "CENTRAL CITY" rooted in culture, arts, commerce and binded by the rule of the law.

Yet as we past the Four Million mark in "capacity busting" population, the well-being and future of "THE CITY OF ANGELS" will be predicated on the continuing respect of cultures, native, foreign and home grown but center on a respect for the rule of law that respect the rights of all citizens.

BREAKING NEWS!!! Jamiel Shaw Sr. seeks removal of Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee from his son's murder case

Jamiel Shaw Sr. is calling on District Attorney Steve Cooley to remove Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee from his son's murder case.
This is the latest turn of events in this controversy regarding the alleged actions of Deputy D.A. Michelle Hennisee which broke Thursday on the "Kevin James Show" and continue on Friday in the last hour of the KFI "John and Ken Show"
Shaw Sr. stated on the Friday show that Henisee try to get the Shaw Family to drop their campaign to modify Special Order 40 with the Walter Moore written "Jamiel's Law", and hinted that a different portrait of Jamiel Shaw Jr. would be introduce in trial if the Shaw Family did not waver in their crusade.

District Attorney Steve Cooley was not avalible for comment on today's show, but will hold a private meeting with the Shaw Family tomorrow.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

A FoxNews report on a gang member who claims he has been paid by Councilmember Janice Hahn for "gang intervention programs" is creating a huge buzz around City Hall. The gang member who has been arrested for issues ranging from indecent exposure to possession of marijuana and said that Hahn assisted him in getting out of jail. Now the individual has been convicted to life in prison in a rape case. Some community activists are calling for District Attorney Steve Cooley to investigate Hahn's actions and gang intervention projects funding. The report also details other gang members who have received gang intervention funds and police officers who claim that these gang members bragged about their city funding and laugh at Hahn for the irony of it all.

Those who wish Jamiel Shaw, Sr. would stop crusading in favor of Jamiel's Law and against Special Order 40 protection for gang members are getting more desperate. First off, as we reported here in an exclusive interview on the Sister City, the father of an innocent youth allegedly murdered by an illegal alien gang member said he had been "offered a better paying job" in order to give up the campaign for Jamiel's Law. Now, Shaw has told KFI's John and Ken that District Attorney prosecutors have threatened to paint a very different picture of his son's life who was not a gang member.

Hal Netkin chronicles Council Member Dennis Zine's flip flops on Special Order 40 over the years. I remember several years ago attending a Community Police Advisory Board meeting when Zine was still head of the Police Protective League. At the time Zine called for the elimination of Special Order 40 as one way police officers would be able to fight gang crime.

Gloria Molina is going against taco truck operators in unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County, including East Los Angeles. However Molina has found a gabacho led effort to save the trucks which dispense delicious regional specialties and often server as community gathering spots for Latin immigrants wishing a brief reconnection with the old country.

BREAKING NEWS!!! Jamiel Shaw Sr. claim D.A. threats to taint his son as "gangbanger" for his crusade against Special Order 40.

****Link here to the KFI Podcast page, then click on the 5/2, 6:00 PM "John and Ken Show" labeled Jamiel Shaw, for audio.

Jamiel Shaw Sr. is on KFI's "John and Ken Show" with the startling story of Deputy D.A. Michelle Henisee and her stance made to him for maintaining the status-quo in regards to Special Order 40 and the repercussions that would result if Shaw Sr. continue his crusade for Jamiel's Law.

In the same conservation Henisee made some not so veil insinuations that the D.A. office would paint a portrait of Jamiel Shaw Jr. that is contrary to reality. One where Shaw is type casted as a red wearing, gang member who character is different from what has been portray in the multi media forums.

Currently, District Attorney Steve Cooley is on the air doing spin control on the actions of his prosecutor in this case. Shaw Sr. is standing by his story on the actions pertaining to the actions of Henisee.

Shaw Sr. in his brief appearance before Cooley called in, paints a picture of a political community that is adamant in maintaining the status quo regarding Special Order 40. He sights repeated visits and calls from the likes of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, council members, and their respective staffs.

We invite Jamiel Shaw Sr., Walter Moore or other reps of the family to email further information to redspotincd14@yahoo.com for prompt posting on this thread.

Open Thread for Sunday

In the race to find a reason to oppose Jamiel's Law local politicians try to point to the validity of Special Order 40 by saying that the move was none other than the brainchild of controversial former LAPD Chief Daryl Gates. It appears Gates is no longer on the Special Order 40 train. Though he feels that fighting gangs requires a far more holistic approach than just Jamiel's Law (and I don't think Walter Moore or Jamiel Shaw, Sr. would disagree with that), Gates says Special Order 40 "has been following me all these years" and "was written at a different time in (the city's) history."

In other news related to Gates one of our readers noted that the former Chief received cheers at the funeral for slain Officer Randall Simmons (like Jamiel he too murdered by illegal aliens) "a slap" to current Chief William Bratton.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Friday

In an exclusive interview with Mayor Sam's Sister City, father of Jamiel Shaw, II and community advocate Jamiel Shaw, Sr., says that he has received a significant amount of pressure to drop or modify his support for Jamiel's Law, ending Special Order 40 for gang members. Shaw tells us that in one instance he was "offered a better paying job" in an attempt to silence him.

This could be a problem for the Council. There's widespread disgust with their reaction to the treatment of Anita and Jamiel Shaw, Sr. Tuesday during their appearance at the Council meeting. The feeling is that the Clowncil members did everything from ignore the Shaws to dis them.

The whole of issue of Jamiel's Law is a problem for Mayor Villaraigosa and could even become a problem for the Democratic candidates later this year. As rational people of all races and political parties see to the extent that liberal policies have sought to protect those illegal aliens who happen to criminals - on the backs of those of who are hard working otherwise law abiding undocumented folks - votes could fall away from the Democratic party this year and the Mayor next year. No wonder the usual spinners were in full force to spin against Jamiel's Law.

After months of a self-imposed exile in the mid-west, Zuma Dogg triumphantly returned to City Hall Wednesday. In the requisite video, we learn that Councilman Bill Rosendahl eschews an electronic personal digital assistant for a box of several hundred index cards he carries around and that Matt Dowd just can't get why folks are happy to see Zuma Dogg at City Hall and could care less about Matt. I can help Matt with this question - because Matt my friend you are an asshole, an idiot and you lack the charisma, talent and star power of Zuma Dogg.

Residents of an orthodox Jewish community on Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles say that the Mayor's new traffic plan is going to create a serious disruption for them and business that cater to the community's special needs.

More celebrities getting kicked by various businesses. A tabloid reports that supermodel Naomi Campbell has been banned from flying on British Airways after allegedly spitting on a cop on a flight. Fashion designer Alexander McQueen has banned faux celebrity Paris Hilton from his stores because he doesn't want her as a customer.

Once in a while it happens. An incumbent has been defeated by a challenger. Walnut Parks and Recreation Commissioner Nancy Tragarz managed to beat incumbent Mayor Tom Sykes for a spot on the City Council.

Heidi Montag, the 21 year old star of the MTV reality show, The Hills, has been turned down by Tom LeBong (well and the rest of the Council). The young celebrity wanted permission to change the Hollywood Sign for one day to say Heidiwood. Not going to happen.

Did you know that California has a Democratic caucus? Even though the primary was held in February, Democrats will gather in libraries, gyms and senior centers to choose the delegates who will represent California and queue up for either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver this August.
