We Interrupt Our Cyber Vacation to Bring You These Boggin Teases

We interrupt our cyber Spring Break Getaway to bring you these Bloggin Teases on future content when we return on Monday.
The choice LAPD Division for relocating demoted Police Captains?
Are LAPD Cameras becoming petty disciplining tools for Department Brass?
** Blogger's Note: GREAT Friday to all as we interrupt our cyber Spring Break to bring you these Bloggin Teases on select content for when we return on Monday----Scott Johnson.

1. From the apparent choice designation for demoted Captains (with straying eyes ......, and hands, allegedly), we are hearing whispers about disgruntle rank and file officers .........., and friction with Command Staff. It seems that Mayor Eric Garcetti's LAPD Body Camera Initiative, is becoming a moral-sapping tool for LAPD Brass to impose petty discipline upon the Rank and File Patrol Blue Line. To be continue .............
2. Which LA County Board of Supervisor Candidate (not "Officer Fifeenglander") created a Ballot Designation that denoted a Job Title that did NOT exist? To be continue ...........
3. Which former Mayoral Candidate will soon establish domicile in a Gentrified CD-14? To be continue.
4. Which large Los Angeles Corporate entity, in cooperation with a willing Politico, had their version of a "Mission Accomplish Moment", that will be outed in the week ahead? To be continue ........
5. Plus, we will also have complete June Election coverage when we return.

NOW BACK TO OUR CONTINUING CYBER VACATION. SEE YOU MONDAY!!

Note on the Upcoming LA County Board of Supervisors District Five Candidate Debate

Mark your Political Calendars as the Candidates seeking to replace out-going Los Angeles County District Five Board of Supervisor Mike Antonovich, gather for a supposed "Green Dialog/Debate" ......., and surely some pointed commentary on a certain Candidate's "Police Officer (naught)" failed Ballot Designation.
The Liberal League of Conservation Voters-sponsored Debate.
** Blogger's Note: As the Leftward lurch of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors pauses as the Campaigns to replace termed-out Officeholders Don Knabe and Michael Antonovich play out, the candidates seeking to replace the District Five (and State Senate Candidate) Conservative will gather in Pasadena next Wednesday to debate the issues. The (Liberal) League of Conservation Voters-sponsored Dialog, should be green-laden with questions dealing with the recent Porter Ranch Gas Leak and others. But a recent court ruling against current "CD 12 Councilmember" Mitch Englander in his failed attempt to brand himself as a "Police Officer", is surely to get some play as witness in the comical "Police Officer Englander"/Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife comparison below. In bloggin hindsight, a fictitious union of an "Ambitious Councilmember" and make-believe "Mayberry Deputy Sheriff", resulting in a Political Branding of "Councilmember/Thespian Deputy Sherriff Candidate" Mitchell Fifelander ........, may have been found more authentic in court----Scott Johnson.

HOT Brief on the "Broken Deal Cedillo Political Machine" for Monday

The Cracks in the Political Foundation of now CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo;s Community Coalition, continue to widen as 2013 CD 1 Third Place Candidate (and Cedillo's Runoff Supporter) Jesse Rojas, pulls 2017 Campaign Papers to challenge the Second Term-seeking Officeholder.
One Bill Gil's recent proclivities for reneging on promises has earned him the new moniker "Broken Deal Cedillo".
Highland Park Business Owner Jesse Rojas endorsing Cedillo during 2013 CD 1 Runoff.
** Blogger's Note: In an ideal Political World, the challenge to a City Council Incumbent, especially when the Officeholder is the renowned/infamous Gil "One Bill" Cedillo, would be Front Page-garnering Breaking News.
But in a 21st Century "Ciudad de Los Angeles", the Act of Pulling 2017 Campaign Papers by now Councilman Cedillo former supporter Jesse Rojas, becomes a "bloggin HOT Monday Topic in chronicling a growing CD 1 Backlash against the career politico, now known as "Broken Deal Cedillo".
We bloggin rewind to a "2013 Better Yesterday", when a diverse community coalition help the then nationally-recognized "One Bill (Driver Licenses for Illegals) Gil" narrowly defeat challenger, former CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes Chief of Staff Jose Gardea by a triple-digit margin.
A key endorsement in the Cedillo Victory over Gardea, was provided by Third Place Candidate Jesse Rojas, who's block of support surely played an important part in Cedillo succeeding the much-disliked Reyes.
Yet, three years-removed from endorsing the current Officeholder, Rojas pending challenge is another example of a growing backlash by former 2013 supporters from all neighborhoods within CD 1.
Rojas joins Pico Union Neighborhood Council Activist Miguel Amaya in a growing list of "Grass Roots Davids" seeking to unseat the Union-back Political Goliath .........., and the speculation is rampant on who else may join in.
Flying Pigeon Bicycle Shop Owner Josef Bray-Ali, who has been a front person espousing opposition to Councilman Cedillo's Figueroa Transit Plan and Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council President Monica Alcarez, a vocal critic of Cedillo (and BIG supporter of CD 14 Councilman Huizar) are other prominent names mentioned as potential 2017 Candidates.

Remembering the Passing of Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby September 29, 1964 - April 15, 2015

Please join us in a Bloggin Moment of Reflection on this First Anniversary of the Passing of Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby.
Michael sharing his Fifty B-day with Family and Friends.
** Blogger's Note: As the cleansing (and healing) winds of a new Spring abate momentarily, this is the bloggin appointed time to reflect on the Passing, one year ago today, of Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby. One year later ........ and the numbness in keyboarding my thoughts on a "Person of Character" who introduced this writer to the "Wonders of Spollcheck" is still profound. From above, Michael would surely not want this First Anniversary of his "Calling Home" in joining with his Mother Judy, to become a "Godzilla El Nino Downpour" of teary revisiting on a Life of Character that Michael espoused and lived daily during our Bloggin Mayor's time among us. But instead, focus on continuing the cyber crusade of bearing bloggin witness on the issues of the day, in the spirit of empowering Openness and Transparency. Since Michael's Passing, we are still working through the protocols in ensuring that his Cyber Creation will continue on (and grow) in being the "Click of Record" in musing the truth .........., and giving voice to those who exemplify the Character that our bloggin colleague granted opportunity to, in being part of the Mayor Sam Family. In the weeks ahead, we will be making announcements regarding our future cyber endeavors to continue on in Michael's vision which includes growing our bloggin Family of Writers and Audience. But paramount in ensuring the continuation of the Mayor Sam Blog, is empowering and mentoring the "Next Generation of Mini Mayors (we know of one already as I keyboard these thoughts)".  Thus, as the healing winds recommence, we bid our beloved Friend Michael and loving Mom Judy well in a world where we will all someday reunite again (at the Joselitos Franchise above) .........., and continue on below (as a "Tear of Thanks" runs its course through the "Watershed of Appreciation")----Scott Johnson.

A Personal Note .................

Our Thoughts and Prayers on this Wednesday are with longtime Mayor Sam Reader and Supporter Robert Guevara, who's loving wife Patricia, passed away after a sudden/unexpected health matter on April 2.
** Blogger's Note: Please pardon us as we take a temporary time out from our normal bloggin, sardonic musings to note the sad passing of Eagle Rock Activist Robert Guevara's loving wife Patricia.after a short, unexpected illness. Many in the Neighborhood Council Community of Activists, will surely note Robert's regular attendance at the monthly Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Coalition (LANCC) Meetings and his steadfast commitment to Open and Transparent Governess. Robert is, and has been a longtime Mayor Sam supporter, sharing his opinions via the comment section (in addition to extensive conversations at various times). But most important, Robert was blessed with a loving Soul Mate, who's wit and humor this writer will remember from meeting her during the Medical Marijuana-influenced, contentious 2012 Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council Elections, Our Thoughts and Prayers are with Robert and his Family during this time of Profound Loss----Scott Johnson.
Patricia and Robert Guevara.
From Robert Guevara's Facebook Page:
It is with much sadness that our family shares the notice of the passing of my wife, Patricia Guevara. She left us on Saturday, April 2, 2016, surrounded family and friends, following a sudden and unexpected health matter that had caused her hospitalization.
Among the things about Patricia that is most remembered by all is her spirit that was evidenced by her smile and amicable nature. She enjoyed working with people, with many friendships gained over her life, that included a good amount of easy laughter as a part of her personal and professional life. A devoted wife, mother and friend, we will gather to honor her on Wednesday.
Services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at St. Dominic Church, 2002 Merton Ave. in Eagle Rock (L.A. 90041) at 2 pm with a rosary, followed by a mass. Reception in the parish hall will follow

Councilman Buscaino Giving Witness to a Los Angeles Icon's Last Season with Father

As the Los Angeles City Council honors Dodgers Living Icon Vin Scully, CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino (and Father Matteo) share a QUALITY moment with the always gracious and humble Voice of the Boys in Blue.
CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino and Father Matteo (in glasses) share a moment with Los Angeles Dodgers Living Icon Vin Scully.
** Blogger's Note: Please pardon the absence of bloggin content as we give witness to another Opening Day of Dodgers Baseball. Students of local Sports History will SURELY prep themselves for what will be the last Opening Day Broadcast featuring the half-century plus some years, Voice of the Dodgers Vin Scully. As we near the time for Scully's last Opening Greeting to start another season within Chavez Ravine, we want to commend the Los Angeles City Council (with Scully's blessing) for formally moving forward in honoring the Hall of Fame Broadcaster, with the naming of "Vin Scully Avenue".  It was fitting to take note from yesterday's "Vin Scully Avenue Festivities", a "Moment of Family" involving CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino and Father Matteo as they shared in Special Moment with one of Los Angeles Greatest Living Icons. For decades, Scully brought families ..........., and a community together in chronicling the Glory (and objectively noting the pratfalls) of the Boys in Blue. Thus, as we near the opening pitch ............, let enjoy our Civic Treasure Vin Scully, from where ever you may be----Scott Johnson

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Say Hey!! Is Kevin James Pondering a CD 12 Campaign?

A recent Poll in the 39th Assembly District sought out Voter's opinion on the favorable rating of 39th AD Assembly Candidate Raul Bocanegra ............., and City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works President Kevin James, building on speculation of a possible, "James for CD 12 Campaign".
Mayor Eric Garcetti to Kevin James: "Regarding that 39th AD Poll, should I say Very Favorable or Favorable ........, to you running for CD 12?"
Oh the love of bloggin speculation!!

As the sun rises on the latest incarnation of Monday, we focus our cyber attention on speculation regarding a former Talk Show Host, turned paid Political Appointee, with aspirations for Elective Office (allegedly).

In the last couple of weeks, the chatter has increased of a possible Campaign for City Council by former Radio Talk Show Host, now Mayor Eric Garcetti-appointed Board of Public Works President Kevin James ........,, but not in CD 5 (James current home Council District).

According to multiple sources, James is strongly considering establishing Domicile in CD 12, if the current "Councilmember/Police Officer Candidate" for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Mitch Englander, is victorious in his Campaign to replace out-going Supervisor (and current State Senate Candidate) Michael Antonovich.

The Western San Fernando Valley Council District was a stronghold of support for James during his Third Place Campaign for Mayor in 2013 ..........., and with James Endorsement, was a vital voting enclave that enable, now Mayor Garcetti to beat Wendy Greuel in the 2013 Mayoral Runoff.

But since James populist outsider, reformist Mayoral Campaign of 2013, the perception of many local activists of the now Board of Public Work President, is best exampled by the comments of former LA Daily News Editor and Civic Activist Ron Kaye in a LA Times Missive regarding James

"Kevin has joined the system," said Ron Kaye, former editor of the Los Angeles Daily News. "It's distressing to see someone who knows better buying into the idea that we have to protect the system from reform.".

Yet, the now-supposed City Hall Insider, has been "front and center" in his Board of Public Works Presidential capacity, during the on-going Porter Ranch Gas Leak Crisis, which may pay political dividends (or not) in a speculative CD 12 Campaign.

Its also apparent from a recent telephone poll in the 39th Assembly District, that the political clout of James is also on the mind of a certain political entity, as potential voters were asked to grade the likes of 39th AD Challenger Raul Bocanegra ......., and James (who endorsed Bocanegra's fellow Northeast San Fernando Valley Democratic Machine Member CD 6 City Councilwoman Nury Martinez for Election as pictured below).

Kevin James Endorsement Letter for CD 6 City Councilwoman Nury Martinez.

In ending this bloggin exercise in speculation may come to naught especially if a centain "Council Member/Police Officer Candidate" for the Board of Supervisors, is not victorious ........... but hey, if Councilmember Mitch becomes Supervisor Englander, then the discussion continues.

COMMUNITY ALERT!! "Son of Fabian (Nunez)" to be Freed from Prison

Thanks to a friendly favor from a disgraced, former "Kennedy Republican Governor", the thug, "Son of Fabian (Nunez)" is to be freed from State Prison ............, while a grieving (Santos) Family endures a Life Sentence of Sorrow and Anger, inflicted upon them via Crony Politics.
CORRECTION!! Esteban Nunezs soon to be Freed after serving Seven (instead of 16) Years, thanks to Arnold.
Justice commuted ........., and the Family of Luis Santos Life Sentence of Sorrow continues.

The son of former Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez whose conviction in the death of a college student was commuted by Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon be a free man. The parents of victim Luis Santos, who was stabbed to death in a 2008 fight on the San Diego State University campus involving Esteban Núñez and others, said this week that they have been notified of his impending release. The pair spoke Thursday at a victim’s rights rally in the state capital where they told CBS Sacramento it would happen within a week. Nunez pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for his part in the brawl and was sentenced in 2010 to 16 years in prison. But the following year, then-Governor Schwarzenegger commuted the sentence to just seven years saying that Nunez, whose father was a political ally, had no prior criminal record and that the sentence was excessive. When asked if his ruling had anything to do with his relationship with Núñez , Schwarzenegger was later quoted as saying “Well, hello! I mean, of course you help a friend.”
Our Prayers to the Santos Family.

HOT Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Monday

Longtime CD 10 City Councilman Herb Wesson's Chief Deputy (and alleged Bagman) Michael Bae, has vacated his underling position with the Cit Clowncil Central Committee Strongman, sparking speculation on the reasons for his departure.
Chief Deputy Michael Bae (on the right in photo) next to his now, former Boss.
** Blogger's Note: As the first Monday of April 2016 dawns over Koreatown, many longtime activists will surely be conversing, regarding the departure of CD 10 City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson's Chief Deputy Michael Bae. During the contentious 2012 Redistricting Commission Hearing in Koreatown, Bai was the focus of allegations involving "Strong-armed Contributions" by activists, as exampled in the video comments below by Jimmy Chai. As a side note, the lawsuit against the 2012 Redistricting Commission's redrawing of council district boundaries, is still working its way through the Appeal Process.
Activist Jimmy Chai speaking regarding the "conduct" of now former CD 10 Chief Deputy Staffer Michael Bae.

** Krystee Clark elected President of the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council (STNC).
Krystee Clark.
With a tremendous turnout that almost double the previous STNC Election's tally of votes, former CD 7 City Council Candidate Krystee Clark, garnered the top number of votes (by a slim margin) to become the next President of the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council. The high turnout for this latest installment of the STNC Elections, can be credited to a vibrant Social Media Dialog via the Facebook Pages of the "The Foothills, Observed", "The Fabulous Foothills Fringe" ........, and the "CD 7 Open Letter". But we would be remiss in not mentioning outgoing CD 7 City Councilman Felipe Fuente's role in motivating turnout, via his disrespect of the STNC ..... and the Greater, United S-T Community.
