A Morning After, Gun-citing Spin (Again) on the Presidential Campaign Scene via "MEAT/Chief Parker" Trujillo

The noted former Mayor Sam Blogger, now rarely successful Campaign Consultant/Manager Michael "MEAT/Chief Parker" Trujillo, is feeling "The Bern (or pending bloggin burn of another gun-related spin, prompting flashback)" as he shills in denial, the debacle of Hillary's New Hampshire Primary Defeat.
"Chief Parker": NOOO!! Not another "Bullet between the Forehead Email" Flashback!!

** Blogger's Note: Somewhere above, a certain bloggin creator will get a laugh out of the following missive regarding a former cyber cohort, turned rarely successful Campaign Consultant/Manager ......., with a fondness for political mischief.
As the sun rises on a Godzilla El Nino-influenced 80-plus degrees day after the New Hampshire Primary, where the "Mechanic" of the Clinton Political Crime Family, was defeated by the comrade supporters of "Red Sanders", the heat is sure to add sensitivity to "THE BERN" inflicted on those supporting the Crony Capitalist Establishment-fronting Hillary Rodham Clinton ......., such as Michael "MEAT/Chief Parker" Trujillo.

Outtakes from CD 14 Special Report: Year in Review

As the "Political Nightmare that was 2013" for CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar, nears its climax, we look back on the controversies that will surely carry over into a contentious 2015 re-election battle starting soon.
**Blogger's Note: Somewhere this evening, a certain lonely politico (maybe remaining political friend City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson still stand by him?) will gladly toast away for good a disastrous 2013 as CD 14's embattled City Councilman. With lawsuits in the courts regarding his First Street Driving Adventure, alleged Sexual Harassment of former Staffer Francine Godoy and the 2012 Redistricting Scandal, the shine that once radiated from a rising political star, has been replace by a foul stench of a politico hack who's past dubious behavior may come calling at the polling place come 2015 (or sooner in a court of law). But worse for the Princeton Graduate is his "inner turmoil of soul and character" that has seen him admit to "occasional, unfaithful behavior" and is compounded by health issues of his youngest daughter. Most public figures (with a semblance of character) would surely place family paramount and walk away from the political circus to repair the damage at home and find healing for his family, but for Councilman Huizar, his "Political Machismo" is such that despite the political warning signs that 2014 could end up worse, he will forge forward, on a collision course with a "Political Day of Judgment in 2015"---Scott Johnson in CD 14
The Official Vehicle of "Outtakes from CD 14", which can go from zero to a six-figure claim against the City of Los Angeles, on First Street in Boyle Heights.
With all the recent attention focus on the alleged Sexual Harassment Lawsuit of former Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy, many CD 14 observers and constituents have most likely forgotten about Councilman Huizar's October, 2012 rear ending of a retire Huntington Park Police Officer near First and Boyle in Boyle Heights. While the common spin was that Huizar was not legally drunk at the time of his blowing into the tube (after sitting for two hours in the back of a Hollenbeck Division Squad Car, allegedly), the fact remains that the city is on the receiving end of a $500,000 claim that alleged violations of reporting protocols regarding reporting accidents in city-owned vehicles. Then there is the fact that a Happy Hour Birthday Party was being held for Huizar Staffer Eric Martell that afternoon. Makes you go hmmm ................
What new salacious disclosures will come from former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy's Sexual Harassment Lawsuit against her ex boss Councilman Huizar?
The Famous Zuma Dogg photo of Councilman Huizar's Blackberry.
2013 was the year that all the old comments from the past on Mayor Sam, regarding alleged inappropriate behavior between Councilman Huizar and former Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy, become an "occasional consensual reality", via the admission of the Princeton Graduate. But with Godoy alleging that there was nothing consensual about their supposed private trysts, we ponder whether another former Huizar staffer, turned defeated CD 9 City Council Candidate Ana Cubas, would be willing to describe for the record, the work place environment with the offices of CD 14?

Why was the FBI so interested in CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar?
Lets put aside tales of alleged drunk driving and infidelity for a fleeting moment and ponder whether
the insinuations made on this campaign mailer from the 2011 Rudy Martinez Campaign, are still on- going. In the recent leaked State Senator Ron Calderon FBI Affidavit, there are passages that refer to a previous investigation of "Two Los Angeles Officials". Further there is a passage where Senator Calderon describes a "Los Angeles City Councilman" who could be a "money drop" for fictitious Filmmaker Rocky Patel's attempt to buy political favors. Rumors have been flying around that the "political friendship" of City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson and Huizar has a mutualistic purpose in protecting their respective backsides from any nefarious dealings originating from the Building and Safety Department Bribery Scandal. Its common knowledge that former Building Inspector Samuel In, may have many tales of "political collaborations in CD 10 and 14" from his 40 plus years of employment, that came to a end when he admitted to taking bribes, to share with federal investigators.

** Lastly .........., 2013 saw the creation of a new CD 14 Political Adjective for retaliation in Eagle Rock when local Colorado Blvd. Merchants who opposed Councilman Huizar's Bike Lanes, were "Red-curbed".

Observing the Second Anniversary of the infamous "MEAT" Trujillo Email

Its the Second Anniversary of the infamous, vile and repudiate "Bullet Between the Eyes Email" by Michael "MEAT" Trujillo.
 Happy Second Anniversary MEAT!

** Blogger's note: Great beautiful Super Bowl Sunday morning to all as we make preparations to view America's greatest sporting spectacle. For this blogger, Super Bowl Sundays will always have a moment of reflection on what transpired two years ago on Super Bowl Sunday in 2011, during the heated CD 14 City Council Contest between City Councilman Jose Huizar and challenger Rudy Martinez. As I many of us associated with the campaign proceedings were making their way to locations of choice to view the game, Martinez Campaign staff were disclosing the Trujillo crafted email below to various media sources. The story went viral on Monday and resulted in Trujillo's termination as Councilman Huizar's Campaign Manager. Trujillo, who is currently associated with the CD 13 City Council Campaign of John Choi, was quickly forgiven by the machine but the sting of the email will live on in the Martinez Family, who had lost a member due to gun violence. In closing, as we prep to enjoy the festivities today which includes a performance by the Sandy Hook School Choir, let this email serve as a teachable tool on what constitutes (or not in this email case) appropriate discourse in political dialog, especially in a country that finds itself immerse in grief and debate, in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Tragedy---Scott Johnson.
The missing name (blank spot) in email contacts above was Ed Headington, who was under contract with CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar and requested that his name be removed. maybe this was the reason why Headington wanted no association with the email.
This email shall never be forgotten.

Rudy Martinez's "Marty's" becomes "Cafe Lobos" on York Blvd.

Former CD 14 City Council Candidate Rudy Martinez's Marty's Lounge & Bar on York Blvd. in Highland Park, has been reincarnated as Cafe Lobos according to the Eastsider LA. CD 14 politicos will remember Marty's as the location of Councilman Jose Huizar's 2007 Swearing-In Ceremony. This in a time when Councilman Huizar and Martinez were close friends and associates.
But after a falling out and bitter campaign between the former friends, Martinez has moved on and now has partner with Highland Park resident and renown Chef Jasmine Wolf as the Eastsider reports.
Chef Jasmine Wolf, a Highland Park resident who has worked at Wurstkuche in downtown L.A.,  has overseen the transformation of the York Boulevard bar opened by Rudy Martinez, who also owns Mia Sushi in Eagle Rock and tried unsuccessfully to unseat  Jose Huizar as District 14 councilman.  “I live in Highland Park and had been looking for a place to open my restaurant,” said Wolf, who serves as head chef and co-owner. “I approached Rudy with my ideas and he loved them. We really want our neighborhood to have more options and be a destination for Angelenos.” ** Plus their collaboration created 27 new jobs according to Martinez.
The Grand Opening is schedule for tomorrow from 6 P.M.-2 A.M..

** Updated Mayor Sam Exclusive: Did Councilman Huizar retaliate against Eagle Rock's Colombo's Steakhouse for supporting Rudy Martinez for City Council?

"
Councilman Jose Huizar has a "long list" (6,000 voters +) of those who are not loyal to him.
**Afternoon Update: Colombo's received their permit yesterday but because of the lateness of the approval, their festival plans have been altered. Further, Rick Coca stated this to Tom Topping, Rick Coca (press deputy CD14) says that Vic had operated the beer garden without a permit for all the previous years, and CD14 thought there were plenty of opportunities for people to drink on music fest night without a "beer garden"
Colombo's Intalian Steakhouse General Manager Vic Parrino is apparently the latest person (** as Kevin James noted) in CD 14 to experience first hand the vindictive side of CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar. Joining the ranks of the Historic Downtown BID, LA-32 Neighborhood Council, Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council "Former President" Jose Aguilar and surely others, Perino is finding out first hand that if you don't support the "Huizar Way", well, "business may suffer".
Boulevard Sentinel Newspaper Editor Tom Topping send this blogger the following message a couple of days ago which we reprint in full below.
Hi scott. Headline: Huizar withdraws support for business who supported his opponent in last election. ... I'm at ER chamber meeting. Vic parrino, manager of colombos restaurant in eagle rock, wanted a special ABC permit for serving alcohol during music festival. He got needed police support for his application but CD14 withheld support. Vic recorded a very negative robocall, soliciting people to demand huizars resignation for alleged criminal wrongdoing.
Following up on Topping's message, it was confirm that Parrino had gone to the Eagle Rock Chamber Meeting and express his dismay that the Special ABC Permit that Colombo's had to sell alcohol at past Eagle Rock Music Festivals, was withdrawn after intervention by Councilman Huizar's Office. Further, it was true that Parrino recorded the Robo Call in question during the heat of the campaign. But what dismays those that were contacted on this controversy, is the fact that Councilman Huizar would still choose to use the power of his office to retaliate against a business of an opposition (Rudy Martinez) supporter, long after the end of the campaign.
More later ...............

Los Angeles Politics HotSheet for Thursday

Yes indeed, Amazon.com creates REAL jobs!
So, let's kill them!
The blogging dentist Flap reports that folks who like lots of taxes (probably employee and teacher unions who are addicted to pensions like Octomom is to pregnancy) are attempting a boycott of online retailer Amazon.com as retaliation for the e-commerce company's sponsorship of a ballot measure to overturn Californians's draconian taxes on internet purchases. The bad news for these tax lovers is that no one who shops (and saves money) at Amazon will even notice the boycott and the ballot measure will pass big on next year's ballot.

Los Angeles' City Treasurer Steve Ongele found a unique solution to the City's poor credit rating.  He cancelled the contract for the bond rating service.  Can't see me!

The panel empowered to draw up LA's new City Council districts is getting underway.  And the star attraction? Villaraigosa operative Mike "Meat" Trujillo who was appointed to the circus by Clowncilman Richard Alarcon (who knows a LOT about Council district boundaries!).  You may remember Mike was let go by CM Huizar for sending an email to the campaign team threatening to put a political bullet in the head of then opponent Rudy Martinez.

It's always a delight when the Downtown News' Jon Regardie fires up his keyboard. This time it's early game Mayoral election punditry.  Anyway, go there now!

Outtakes from CD 14: Bloggin responses to Councilman Huizar's Victory

Will this 2007 momento re-appear courtesy of Councilman Jose Huizar's "Big Billboard" friends?
Hola from the "Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14" where no far-fetch bloggin conspiracy is beyond cyber reach, considering this from the Burbank Blogger.
CD14: Huge loss for Rudy Martinez, who has spent the last several months spending his own money to tell people that Huizar was about to be arrested and that polls showed the race 51-49 either way.

In the end, Martinez got crushed in the voting. He leaves the race poorer, with his reputation in tatters, and the political world is abuzz regarding the real reason Martinez was propped up to run, and why people goaded this dupe into running such a nasty campaign. Hint: it has to do with another Councilmember's citywide ambitions. Major post to come on this theme.

Hmmm, who could be this "other" City of Los Angeles City Councilman? Could it be that someone well known to Mayor Sam readers is back scheming in the political shadows?

Councilman Jose Huizar Elected to a Second Term in CD 14

This blogger wants to congratulate CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar on his re-election to a second full term  I look forward to four more years of objective blogging on your future political exploits. In addition, I like to commend challenger Rudy Martinez for his efforts in expanding the political dialog and bring attention to issues such as the CLARTS Fund and economic renewal in CD 14. As Martinez stated in his gracious concession speech, this campaign was only the beginning of his new foray into the political world and he will continue the dialog on bring a better tomorrow to the constituents of CD 14. That discussion, this blogger will continue to post here at Mayor Sam.

The Choice is Clear, Rudy Martinez for City Council in CD 14

Rudy Martinez at Clean Sweep LA Kickoff
Letter of support from former LAPD Deputy Chief and now Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz.
Four years ago today, a certain person was proud to walk up to his polling place and help elect current CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar to his first full term. Now on this election day in 2011, that same person typing these words implores you to vote for Rudy Martinez to replace Councilman Huizar.

Former Councilman Huizar Campaign Manager Michael Trujillo still on Campaign Payroll

Disgrace former CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Campaign Manager Michael Trujillo, who was terminated for authoring the controversial "bullet to forehead email", is still being paid by the Huizar Campaign according to the latest Ethics Commission expenditures report.

Further, after being fired on Monday, February 7, Trujillo has received the following payment listed below.

03/01/11 Michael Trujillo Los Angeles, CA 90017 Jose Huizar Council Member - District 14 1325226 - HUIZAR FOR COUNCIL 2011 E - Payment (CNS - Campaign Consultant) [Period: 02/20/11-03/02/11] $3,250.00 [Election: 03/08/11]
Trujillo, prior to this latest payment, received the following amount for work before his termination..
01/28/11 Michael Trujillo Los Angeles, CA 90017 Jose Huizar Council Member - District 14 1325226 - HUIZAR FOR COUNCIL 2011 E - Payment (OFC - Office Expenses) [Period: 01/23/11-02/19/11] $1,286.56 [Election: 03/08/11]
The fact that Trujillo is still on Councilman Huizar's is bound to reignite the controversy over Trujillo's comments that included statements such as "(Rudy is a disgusting human being that needs to be sent back from the vile bag of tripe he emanated from." and "We are going to unleash the dogs of Satan on Rudy and he is going to wish he never heard the words 'team huizar".
With Trujillo continuing to profit from his vile attack on Martinez, on top of Team Huizar's latest negative mailer, highlights the desperate straits that Team Huizar finds themselves as election day approaches, not to mention reopening old wounds..

Mayor Sam Candidate Endorsements: Split Decision for CD14

This is the next in a series of posts where JoeB and I will give our endorsements for candidates for LA City Council and School Board. Where there is agreement we will give the official MayorSam endorsement to the candidate. Next up is CD14. For each post we will give both Joe's endorsement and mine along with our comments. The choices in CD14 are:

  •

JoeB:  I feel sorry for the citizens of CD14 who are forced to choose between these two horrible candidates. Huizar has been a disaster on the PLUM committee, having, among other things, approved Alarcon's Truck Driving School in the middle of an Open Space designated site. Martinez will bring new meaning to the terms "mediocrity" and "incompetence" should he succeed in ousting the incumbent. Either way, it means four more lost years for CD14.

Michael Higby: Rudy Martinez is a dynamic, articulate businessman who represents a stark contrast to the insider Jose Huizar.  With Box and Martinez on the Council, along with Krekorian and Parks they could easily lead a new coalition for change in Los Angeles.  Martinez is a candidate with big promise while Huizar stands for the failed past.  Vote Martinez.

Verdict: One for none, One for Martinez

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Team Huizar's CD 14 Survey Analysis, "we feel it is critical that Martinez be framed early as an unworthy candidate"

Mayor Sam has received a copy of the CD 14 Survey Analysis (ie, push poll) conducted by Fairbanks, Maslin, Maulin, Metz & Associates. This poll was cited early on by Team Huizar, as showing the six-year councilperson having a commanding advantage over his challenger Rudy Martinez.
But as the details within the analysis note, the re-election of Councilman Huizar is not a sure thing. Key points in the analysis include,
* Only 25% of voters survey say they will "definitely" vote for Councilman Huizar. (page 1)
* "This election must be a choice between the two candidates and not a referendum on the incumbent". (page 2)
* Looking at Eagle Rock and Glassell Park, we can see some likelihood of Huizar losing in both areas and the possibility of more narrow margins in El Sereno and Highland Park. (page 7)
* 71% of voters said that Huizar's vote against "making DWP bureaucrats more accountable to the public" was a convincing reason to vote against him. (page 5)
* The impact of the negative messages nullifies all of Martinez vote gains. (page 7)
Reading through the analysis and comparing the survey questions with the later attacks by Team Huizar on Rudy Martinez, one can easily see that "going negative" was an essential part of Team Huizar's plan to blunt the challenge of  Martinez.

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

Folks in CD14 are out of work and there is little business opportunity in the District.  That must be why Councilman Jose Huizar is talking the City into spending a million to study a goofy streetcar idea for Downtown.  Follow the money folks, follow the money.

The LA Times recaps their endorsements. The set as a whole will not please either the downtown status quo folks nor the Clean Sweepers, and in a few districts, neither.  They are CD2: Krekorian, CD4: O'Grady, CD6: Goodman, CD8: Parks, CD10: Wesson,  CD12: Englander, CD14: Martinez.  Count that up folks the Times is actually calling for half of the incumbents up for re-election to be tossed out.  And in the case of CD4 the other Fishwrap in town, the Daily News, endorsed the other challenger to Tom LaBonge, Stephen Box.

Councilman Huizar subject of "Cease and Desist Letter" by Longtime Eagle Rock Businessman Paul Sislin

CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Campaign's veracity going up in smoke.
This statement in a recent campaign mailer just earned Councilman Huizar's Campaign its second "Cease and Desist Letter" in their quest to pin supposed truths on the Rudy Martinez Campaign.

Memo to CD 14 Chief of Staff Ana Cubas, "Big difference between $60,000 and $544,683 in CLARTS Fund Account

Now the video of her rambling presentation is posted above for all to see.  For those who may be interested in a career of public service, Cubas performance is noteworthy for its subjective dodging of the questions by the LA 32 Board.
But at the end point of her opening presentation (about 25 minutes in), Cubas states that there was only $60,000 currently in the CLARTS Fund balance, which surprise former CD 14 City Councilman Nick Pacheco, who briefly speaks. But the truth unknown to the LA 32 Board, Pacheco and not likely Cubas, is noted below in the memo..

Councilman Jose Huizar: "Rudy Martinez doesn't speak Spanish."

"Parque Esqueleto" is the bloggin prophet! From sometime back.
Or maybe in the words of "Parque Esqueleto", this is all part of the plan to ward off the challenge of Rudy Martinez?
Very typical. Common SG&A tactics. As they did in the 43rd race they have learned to gin up "progressive" bloggers to fight opponents SG&A can't beat on the merits by tossing around the racist and homophobe cards. Trujillo and SG&A will be working to save the quite troubled Jose Huizar; they are scared to death of opponent Rudy Martinez. They can't call Martinez, a Mexican, anti-Latino. So perhaps he hates "teh gheys." Maybe, just maybe, Trujillo will exercise the nuclear option and call Martinez a pocho.
Some months later, with Trujillo exile to the bloggin wilderness, leave it to Councilman Huizar to open his "political nuclear suitcase" and launch the first "pocho strike" of the campaign. More after the bloggin leap..........

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Monday

Public Employee Unions Need to go
on a Diet Just Like Mayor Sam has
One of the smartest bloggers in town when it comes to public finance, Paul Hatfield, dices up the Wisconsin labor reform law and details how similar changes should come to California.  It's apparent that politicians like Governor Brown and former State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown (no relation) understand that public employee unions have been given a sweeter than sweet deal for decades and with most governments near bankruptcy it's time to pay the piper.

Governor Brown also gets it when it comes to the Community Redevelopment Agency. It's time to shut these inefficient, wasteful and fraudulent distributors of corporate welfare down but Mayor Villaraigosa doesn't think so.  He cites examples of YMCAs and shopping centers the CRA built, yet shopping centers and YMCAs have been built for decades without YMCA - and the attendant multi-million dollar payouts to politically connected non-profits around these projects that don't see one cent go into building anything on the ground.

On the Bloggin Road with the "Forums with Huizzy Tour"

Damn Candidate Forums! Why do I need take credit for others, errrr, highlight my record as City Couincilman?

Great chillin evening from the northern edge of CD 14 as we start our bloggin "Forum with Huizzy Tour".

Our first stop is the Highland Park Senior Center where Councilman Huizar (at 6:58PM) just walked into his planned evening 30 minute presentation/Q and A with the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council. Two weeks earlier, the same format was accorded to Rudy Martinez.

Upon completion of his presentation and Q and A, Councilman Huizar will make his way to the El Sereno Senior Center where the LA 32 Neighborhood Council and Rudy Martinez are waiting for the councilman's arrival to conduct the candidate forum sponser by the LA 32 NC and The Voice Newspaper. BTW, the councilman was gracious to give his favorite blogger a friendly greeting with pat on the back as he inquire about my work status.

Huizar must hit the road by 7:30PM to make El Sereno

** Evening Update: The El Sereno Senior Center became wi-fi dead zone. will post update in the AM.
