Outtakes from CD 14 Report: An Embattled, Huevon Clowncilman stirs to Life for Reelection Time 2015

Our blogging feature "Outtakes from CD 14" returns as the "Noted Huevon One" of the LA City Clowncil Central Committee, stirs to life for what should be a contentious 2015 Reelection Campaign.
Dedicated to attentive Public Service, see video at bottom!!
The Official Special Interests Billboard of "Outtakes from CD 14".

POLITICAL PEACE IN OUR TIME WITHIN EL SERENO?
CD 1 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" must be envious.
Hola from the forgotten "Bloggin Cut and Paste Homeland" east of the LA River from the Downtown Fiscal (and Political) Center of Clowncil Member Jose Huizar's Fiefdom. But with Reelection 2015 mere months away, the embattled Princeton Graduate is reaching out to all corners of his district in a politically paranoid-driven quest to engender support for a third and last term. How desperate the "Noted Heavon One" is in seeking out support, was this supposed surprise moment of reconciliation between former The Voice Community News Editor/Publisher Carlos Morales and the Princeton Graduate. We can only guess what inspired the above, gleeful moment of interaction between the two former CLARTS Fund antagonists, but now here at Mayor Sam, everyone can share in the historic union.

Outtakes from CD 14 Special Report: "Now Mayor Garcetti Staffer Henry Casas revisits Boyle Heights"

The Political Rehabilitation of former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff, now Mayor Garcetti Staffer Henry Casas, makes triumphant curb-side return to Boyle Heights (** notice gentleman in dark suit, on right of photo). But first, a brief mention of our virtual sponsors. ( kinda like a return call from your current CD 14 Councilman).
The Official Special Interest Billboard of "Outtakes from CD 14".
The Official $40,000 + Councilman Huizar City-Owned Toyota Highlander of "Outtakes from CD 14". Goes from Zero to a $500,000 Dollar Claim in a Happy Hour Evening (** allegedly).
.... and feature the Official Tracking Device of ex Councilman Huizar Staffers. (** especially during National Night Out events at the Hollenbeck Police Station), that provides bloggin fodder for "Outtakes from CD 14".
Mayor Eric Garcetti meeting the constituents in cropped version of LA Times photo.
Beautiful first day of Fall to all on this Sunday as we bring you this special "Outtakes from CD 14 Special Report" regarding a former Councilman Huizar staffer, who returns to Boyle Heights, in a better political ( and personal) place.
Last time we bloggin broached on former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff Henry Casas, he was an political aspirant, cut loose by his boss after his charges on domestic violence, who was the subject of a verbally-violent Councilman Huizar tirade, directed at another former staffer, Celine Mancia, during a National Night Out Event at the Hollenbeck Police Station.
Casas allegedly caused this incident by merely showing up to observed the festivities, soon after his termination as noted by an unidentified LAPD observer.
Hey I'm an officer with LAPD and I was there. We did see the incident but we had community folks come up to us later and tell us what happen. They were very upset, unfortunately no one on staff said anything when asked about it. To tell you the truth it makes me sick that he could get away with that. It might have to do with his sister-in-law working at the station. What we did see and what is all the talk at the station was what Huizar's office did to there former Chief Henry Casas. As soon as he got to the event they sent a staff person to follow him around. It was funny to watch. I mean they were on him like white on rice. Every one of us noticed it and even made joke to Henry about Huizar having lo-jack on him. Henry if you read this stuff you are welcome in Hollenbeck any time. Jose, I never liked you after your anti cop statements at the Ramon Gardens and after Henry left your office your stock went down even lower with us but to scare the crap out of one your young female staff is just the last straw. Hope to god that you never mess up and break the law in front of me because I don't care what management tells me to do, I would take you down hard.
August 06, 2009 9:33 AM

Fast forward to the present, and we linked to a LA Times story on Mayor Garcetti's curb-side outreach event, and who do we see in the attached photo? Henry Casas. In closing, we hope nothing but the best for now Mayor Garcetti confidant ........... and we are sure that upon learning this, there will be many smiles among the longtime employees at Hollenbeck.

Your thoughts ..............

Outtakes from CD 14 Northeast Edition: "Eagle Rock Patch Interview with Councilman Huizar and fears of retaliation on York Blvd via the Boulevard Sentinel"

The Official Billboard (paid for by "Big Billboard") of "Outtakes from CD 14".
HI ARTURO!! The Official Councilman Huizar Staff "Observer" of "Outtakes from CD 14" Arturo Gonzalez. With help of LAPD, Gonzalez keeps watch on CD 14 constituents to update their "Loyalty and Influence" listing (Click on photo).
CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar contemplating the answers to questions in recent video interview with Aaron Proctor and Ajay Singh of the Eagle Rock Patch.
Hola from the "cut and paste underground" of CD 14 where the act of stating the political truth is grounds for the following; removal from CD 14 email blast list, no turkeys from Huizzy for your CBO, a visit from a Building & Safety employee with cash only invoice and the dreaded down-scoring on the CD 14 Constituent Discrimination List ...... and judging from the recent "acts of objective journalism" from the Eagle Rock Patch and Boulevard Sentinel respectively, the list of retribution against those perceived to be disloyal to Councilman Huizar, is bound to grow.
First, we want to spotlight the recent Eagle Rock Patch interview of Councilman Huizar by Aaron Proctor and Ajay Singh at his City Hall office. The two part interview which we link to here (1) and here (2)  was by no means an exercise in journalistic softball and as the video shows, provided some uncomfortable moments for the Princeton Graduate (especially in explaining his attempted retaliation against Colombo's Steakhouse).
Second, Boulevard Sentinel Editor and Publisher Tom Topping does yeoman's work in getting to the root of the Second Saturday NELA Artwalk Controversy (which we posted on here previously) and the role of the CD 14 Eagle Rock Council Office. Topping gets many of the principals players in the saga to speak and the constant theme is the fear of retaliation from CD 14 as this passage illustrates.
Bike ride organizer Joseph Bray-Ali had reacted to MorYork's message by posting his disdain for CD14's actions. Soon after, he was pressured by CD14 to retract his statement about CD14 threatening to institute city fees, which the councilman's office categorically denied. He was reluctant to speak out for fear the councilman would retaliate by sending an army of inspectors to his storefront business (which everybody knows happens all the time). He did, however, confirm Mallman's perception that the gist of  CD14's communications consisted of fear mongering about "looming liability" issues for gallery night organizers and participants like the MorYork. Joseph was still upset and discouraged and said he is re-thinking the associated gallery night bike ride and may cancel it altogether for at least November.
We post Topping's article in whole after the jump.

Outtakes from CD 14: Councilman Huizar misses 13 of 25 City Council meetings in June and July

Hola from the "Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14" where perfect attendance in the course of serving your constituents is a foreign concept. With that thought in mind, we like to start off our latest edition of  "Outtakes from CD 14" by boasting the most recent dubious exploits of the Boyle Heights native. Ron Kaye reports that Councilman Huizar was absence with pay 13 out of 25 council meetings in the month of June and July.
As we enter the sixth month of life in CD 14 after Councilman Huizar's landslide victory against Rudy Martinez in the March 8 Elections, lets briefly recap what has transpired in the "Cut and Paste Republic" after the jump.

The work of Councilman Huizar's "Image Consultant" Ed Headington?

Photo of Mayor Villaraigosa by Ed Headington at Councilman Huizar's Campaign Kickoff.

Ed Headington talking to Councilman Huizar at El Sereno Sign Dedication.
LA County Labor Federation Leader Maria Elena Durazo photo by Ed Headington at Councilman Huizar's Campaign Kickoff.
In Tuesday's Morning briefs post, we quickly questioned why our former Mayor Sam blogger and noted media consultant Ed Headington, would want all traces of his name removed from the infamous Michael Trujillo email ( we should note that LA Weekly's Jill Stewart took note of Headington in her post on Trujillo's vile email). We noted Headington's "consulting contract" with Councilman Huizar that place him at events such as the El Sereno sign dedication, pictured above. But some have opine that Headington's work may have cross over into Councilman Huizar's Re-election Campaign, as Headington's photos from Huizar's Campaign Kickoff might suggest (we should note that there is no record of Headington being paid for campaign work).
After the jump, we disclose information that was provided to us during the recent CD 14 campaign that raises more questions whether Headington was "Edward 121", who was engage in "editing or sanitizing" Councilman Huizar's Wikipedia page. Thus, if  "Edward 121" is indeed Headington, then one must question why public money was being use for Huizar's campaign efforts.

Outtakes from CD 14: LAFD cutbacks in CD 14 (Except near Councilman Huizar's home)

Strange, why would Councilman Huizar remove Facebook and Twitter links from council website home page?
These El Sereno Huizar supporters were rewarded with reduced LAFD emergency services.
Maybe this is the reason that CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar has detach himself from constituents, via Twitter and Facebook? (or may it has to do with illegal campaign usage?)
The Voice Newspaper and other sources have provided documentation on the pending LAFD reorganization that has dire consequences for the El Sereno community and city wide via the LA Times. ** We should note that two of the four RA units recommended for shutdown are located in CD 14.
For the likes of the Hillside Village Property Owners Association who protests of Rescue Ambulance cutbacks at Station 16 brought attention to LAFD "brownouts", they should take note of the propose reorganization of LAFD resources in El Sereno and Boyle Heights.

Has Councilman Huizar retain Counsel for future Legal Proceedings?

 Is the re-election honeymoon over?
"Campaign flashback"
As the mud turns to dust from the most recent political election proceedings in CD 14, rumors/chisme continues to make the rounds about some supposed legal issues regarding Councilman Jose Huizar.
Flashbacking to the February 1, 2011 Los Angeles Times story in which former CD 14 City Council Candidate Rudy Martinez states that he had been interviewed by FBI agents, regarding Councilman Huizar and subsequent stories on his financial status. Political observers are speculating whether the second term elected politico may face legal problems stemming from any past wrong doings.

Outtakes from CD 14: Bloggin responses to Councilman Huizar's Victory

Will this 2007 momento re-appear courtesy of Councilman Jose Huizar's "Big Billboard" friends?
Hola from the "Cut and Paste Republic of CD 14" where no far-fetch bloggin conspiracy is beyond cyber reach, considering this from the Burbank Blogger.
CD14: Huge loss for Rudy Martinez, who has spent the last several months spending his own money to tell people that Huizar was about to be arrested and that polls showed the race 51-49 either way.

In the end, Martinez got crushed in the voting. He leaves the race poorer, with his reputation in tatters, and the political world is abuzz regarding the real reason Martinez was propped up to run, and why people goaded this dupe into running such a nasty campaign. Hint: it has to do with another Councilmember's citywide ambitions. Major post to come on this theme.

Hmmm, who could be this "other" City of Los Angeles City Councilman? Could it be that someone well known to Mayor Sam readers is back scheming in the political shadows?

The Choice is Clear, Rudy Martinez for City Council in CD 14

Rudy Martinez at Clean Sweep LA Kickoff
Letter of support from former LAPD Deputy Chief and now Riverside Police Chief Sergio Diaz.
Four years ago today, a certain person was proud to walk up to his polling place and help elect current CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar to his first full term. Now on this election day in 2011, that same person typing these words implores you to vote for Rudy Martinez to replace Councilman Huizar.

Getting out the vote Councilman Jose Huizar Style

Why do the names of Francine Godoy and Gustavo Valdivia pop into my head when viewing this mailer ?
East Los Angeles Community Corporation Executive Director Maria Cabildo (speaking in support of CRA) and CD 14's other connected non-profits will gather for their once-in-every-four-years appointment with the polling place tomorrow, as Councilman Jose Huizar awaits the verdict of the electorate on his quest for another term in office.
The likes of ELACC's Cabildo, Legacy LA, Eagle Rock Center for the Arts and other connected non-profits, understand when they pimp for public money, that come election time, their clients and supporters must turn out for their "Political Sugar Daddy", in CD 14's case Councilman Jose Huizar.

Former Councilman Huizar Campaign Manager Michael Trujillo still on Campaign Payroll

Disgrace former CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Campaign Manager Michael Trujillo, who was terminated for authoring the controversial "bullet to forehead email", is still being paid by the Huizar Campaign according to the latest Ethics Commission expenditures report.

Further, after being fired on Monday, February 7, Trujillo has received the following payment listed below.

03/01/11 Michael Trujillo Los Angeles, CA 90017 Jose Huizar Council Member - District 14 1325226 - HUIZAR FOR COUNCIL 2011 E - Payment (CNS - Campaign Consultant) [Period: 02/20/11-03/02/11] $3,250.00 [Election: 03/08/11]
Trujillo, prior to this latest payment, received the following amount for work before his termination..
01/28/11 Michael Trujillo Los Angeles, CA 90017 Jose Huizar Council Member - District 14 1325226 - HUIZAR FOR COUNCIL 2011 E - Payment (OFC - Office Expenses) [Period: 01/23/11-02/19/11] $1,286.56 [Election: 03/08/11]
The fact that Trujillo is still on Councilman Huizar's is bound to reignite the controversy over Trujillo's comments that included statements such as "(Rudy is a disgusting human being that needs to be sent back from the vile bag of tripe he emanated from." and "We are going to unleash the dogs of Satan on Rudy and he is going to wish he never heard the words 'team huizar".
With Trujillo continuing to profit from his vile attack on Martinez, on top of Team Huizar's latest negative mailer, highlights the desperate straits that Team Huizar finds themselves as election day approaches, not to mention reopening old wounds..

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Team Huizar's CD 14 Survey Analysis, "we feel it is critical that Martinez be framed early as an unworthy candidate"

Mayor Sam has received a copy of the CD 14 Survey Analysis (ie, push poll) conducted by Fairbanks, Maslin, Maulin, Metz & Associates. This poll was cited early on by Team Huizar, as showing the six-year councilperson having a commanding advantage over his challenger Rudy Martinez.
But as the details within the analysis note, the re-election of Councilman Huizar is not a sure thing. Key points in the analysis include,
* Only 25% of voters survey say they will "definitely" vote for Councilman Huizar. (page 1)
* "This election must be a choice between the two candidates and not a referendum on the incumbent". (page 2)
* Looking at Eagle Rock and Glassell Park, we can see some likelihood of Huizar losing in both areas and the possibility of more narrow margins in El Sereno and Highland Park. (page 7)
* 71% of voters said that Huizar's vote against "making DWP bureaucrats more accountable to the public" was a convincing reason to vote against him. (page 5)
* The impact of the negative messages nullifies all of Martinez vote gains. (page 7)
Reading through the analysis and comparing the survey questions with the later attacks by Team Huizar on Rudy Martinez, one can easily see that "going negative" was an essential part of Team Huizar's plan to blunt the challenge of  Martinez.

Councilman Huizar subject of "Cease and Desist Letter" by Longtime Eagle Rock Businessman Paul Sislin

CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Campaign's veracity going up in smoke.
This statement in a recent campaign mailer just earned Councilman Huizar's Campaign its second "Cease and Desist Letter" in their quest to pin supposed truths on the Rudy Martinez Campaign.

A Victory Proclamation that Councilman Huizar wants you to forget

Driving and lamenting on the Southwest Museum Controversy don't mix as Los Angeles Times Op-Ed Scribe Jim Newton found out first hand.
And, without prompting, he raised the controversy over the Southwest Museum, a sore point in the district. Huizar said he attempted to get a guarantee from the Autry National Center of the American West to reopen the museum building (which the Autry owns), only to have the project fall apart. It was, I suggested, a "lose-lose," a phrase that unnerved Huizar so much that he missed the green light turning red and wound up stranded in the intersection. Recovering, he responded: "It was a lose-lose, but I think we're in a good position now."
We hate to pile on, but what could've been the life-changing consenquences if Journalist Jim had brought up Counxcilman Huizar's 2007 "Victory Letter" regarding the city's oldest museum?

Memo to CD 14 Chief of Staff Ana Cubas, "Big difference between $60,000 and $544,683 in CLARTS Fund Account

Now the video of her rambling presentation is posted above for all to see.  For those who may be interested in a career of public service, Cubas performance is noteworthy for its subjective dodging of the questions by the LA 32 Board.
But at the end point of her opening presentation (about 25 minutes in), Cubas states that there was only $60,000 currently in the CLARTS Fund balance, which surprise former CD 14 City Councilman Nick Pacheco, who briefly speaks. But the truth unknown to the LA 32 Board, Pacheco and not likely Cubas, is noted below in the memo..

Councilman Jose Huizar: "Rudy Martinez doesn't speak Spanish."

"Parque Esqueleto" is the bloggin prophet! From sometime back.
Or maybe in the words of "Parque Esqueleto", this is all part of the plan to ward off the challenge of Rudy Martinez?
Very typical. Common SG&A tactics. As they did in the 43rd race they have learned to gin up "progressive" bloggers to fight opponents SG&A can't beat on the merits by tossing around the racist and homophobe cards. Trujillo and SG&A will be working to save the quite troubled Jose Huizar; they are scared to death of opponent Rudy Martinez. They can't call Martinez, a Mexican, anti-Latino. So perhaps he hates "teh gheys." Maybe, just maybe, Trujillo will exercise the nuclear option and call Martinez a pocho.
Some months later, with Trujillo exile to the bloggin wilderness, leave it to Councilman Huizar to open his "political nuclear suitcase" and launch the first "pocho strike" of the campaign. More after the bloggin leap..........

Fact checking Councilman Jose Huizar on Hazard Park Armory and Legacy LA

No doubt about it, Councilman Jose Huizar can tell "tall tales" of policy initatives and community action.
Just from viewing the video above, one can gather that Recreation and Parks had no plan for the Hazard Park Armory and along came Legacy LA to the rescue, providing innovated programing at the site.
But as the emails and photo below will show, their is an inconvenient truth to what transpired at Hazard Park.
