Councilman Jose Huizar accepts free billboard from controversial Lamar Advertising
Leave it to Councilman Jose Huizar to shill for any Special Interest who pay the "appropriate fees". In this case, it is the nation's biggest billboard/outdoors advertising firm Lamar Advertising.
Controversial Lamar Billboard in New York City since removed.
Is raven on street sign above Huizzy lawn piece, indicator of his political future?
Your thoughts..............

Red Spot, start practicing these now so that when the time comes, you'll say them with confidence and reverence.

GAWD, what reeeeeaching!
Pull your arms back into their sockets, pull up yer socks, and buck up little soldier. It's ALMOST over.
Huizar wins by 15 points (+/- 3) in one week.
No FBI investigation is in process and nothing comes of all the other rumors and slime planted by his unqualified opponent.
BUT, 3 months from now ETHICS zaps Martinez campaign with fines for failure to supply that commission with campaign literature shipped out to voters - i.e., the stolen CD14 stakeholder lists.
(Hell, "rumor" has it Rudy Rich has already moved back into his Glendale digs - he's so sure he's lost!)
Might as well sleep in your own bed, you Glendale Republican.

Hey Rid Spurt. Beyond your troubles with spelling and grammar, this one goes to basic COM-PRE-HEN-SION (look that up).
By definition -- when someone pays an IE to support a candidate's re-election, that elected official isn't "shilling" for the IE provider, the IE provider is "SHILLING" for them!
It's pretty simple. Most people get that. Sorry it's beyond you.
"DOH"

Scott Johnson. Someone bought a billboard (a much bigger one, BTW), for Rudy - downtown, very early on. They value THAT at $24K.
(In contrast, LAMAR's sign for Huizar - is valued at $500 - about 3 percent of teh cost or Rudy's sign.)
We know you don't think much of Huizar, and maybe YOU can be bought for $500 - but I'm pretty sure he can't! (He makes $180,000 a year... I'm pretty sure it would take a lot more money, if he could be bought).

"Red Spot" (huh?) Wasn't that name originally meant to suggest you were one of the FEW conservative republican's left in CD14??
So, I'm having trouble understanding why YOU'RE having trouble with Huizar taking a VERY small IE from a billboard company that allowed (3,000 miles away) a CONSERVATIVE, Pro-life group to put up a billboard advocating a reduction in the use of abortion as a form of birth control among African Americans?
(You own some stock in Planned Parenthood maybe... is this tapping into your "porfolio" "RED SPOT" of the GOP in CD14?) What will the El Sereno GOP Club think of you when THIS gets out.
A billboard, by the way, that was pulled down when RABID LIBERAL hate groups like those associated with AL SHARPTON harrassed and threatened workers in a COFFEE SHOP that just happened to be in the same building?
You also a buddy of Rev. Al's now, RED SPOT?
You're hypocrisy never ceases to amaze!
Anonymous said:
Sooooo, then Rudy Rich is also "shilling" for the slumlord property management firm "Fifth Street Funding" downtown?
So much for avoiding "special interests" - so much for revitalizing downtown.
What became of him being so "independent" and couldn't be bought?
A $24,000 IE from them could certainly BUY a lot more of Rudy that a $500 billboard for Huizar.

Hey that house with the lawn sign is in EL SERENO.
Boy you really don't have any influence near home, do you Reed Splurt?

(So sorry the BIG boys of the blog won't let you play "endorse the candidates" with them, Scottie. Obviously your just the court jester, there.)
They keep you around for the giggles.

Strange bedfellows.
Red Spot in Seedy 14 and Rev. Al Sharpton, united on an issue.

What was "controversial" about the billboard, dude, was that an organization had the cojones to speak truth the race-baiting liberal kool-aid drinkers.
You have officially turned the corner now, Red Spot... allowed your hatred of one local politician to turn you into a BLUE BLOB!

Quoth the Raven?

I'm torn between wanting Huizar out, and Red Spot to look like even more of a fucking moron for wasting all this time and not making a difference.
If forced to choose, I'll go with Huizar and see Scott be totally emasculated.

Can't the afford to pay for a new billboard? It says "ELECT" Jose Huizar. Thought he's running for re-election.

Huizar field teams have pulled out of Eagle Rock and Mount Washington.
The fucker is on the run.

In CD1 we are faced with two candidates who are losers. But, because we need to vote for one only I choose Martinez. We already have had Huisar and he did nothing. Nothing to help balance the budget and make the cuts we need in our city to keep the services we deserve and pay for as residents. So let's go with one who might have an idea... MARTINEZ!

7:36 is an idiot. You don't know what Council District you're talking about and you can't even spell the candidate's names right.
Looks like you might have gone to the same continuation school that Scott went to. So go back to school and get your Sesame Street groove on so that Elmo can teach you your ABC's.

Huizar is nothing else but a corrupted politician just like the mayor. These types can only thrive on the backs of ignorant voters. If we had intelligent voters they would not be in office and we would have a great city.

Yeah, that's it. The nation's largest billboard advertising company can't "afford" to add the letters "r-e" to the sign.
Pfaaaah!

Furnish proof, or pound sand!
Mouthing ignorant rants for which you have no facts is just as stooopid as misspelling every other word.

A point of clarification for Scott Johnson, who seems to need them CONSTANTLY here...
With "independent expenditures" - the candidate "accepts" nothing.
They have no say so in what's said, and can not collaborate in any way with the IE payor.
That's why they're call "INDEPENDENT"!
Wake up, read a damn book, learn something.

Paul K. got a Lamar advertising billboard, too.
So did Tony Cardenas and Bernard Parks.
Also,Herb Wesson.
PLUS, Mitchell Englander.
(Why's Rid Spurt singling out and badgering Huizar?)
OH, yeah!
OH - CD!
