Fact checking Councilman Jose Huizar on Hazard Park Armory and Legacy LA

No doubt about it, Councilman Jose Huizar can tell "tall tales" of policy initatives and community action.
Just from viewing the video above, one can gather that Recreation and Parks had no plan for the Hazard Park Armory and along came Legacy LA to the rescue, providing innovated programing at the site.
But as the emails and photo below will show, their is an inconvenient truth to what transpired at Hazard Park.

As this email shows, Recreation and Parks did have plans but then Legacy LA's Jenny Krusoe with help from Councilman Huizar soon usurp those ideas. Notice no bids to allow outside groups to give input how to utilize the spacious location.

With help from Recreation and Parks Supervisor Mark Mariscol, Legacy LA soon had the inside track on facility usage. One should note that Legacy LA was a creation of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Councilman Huizar, USC Lobbyist David Galaviz and other allies, with the goal of overtaking the larger Hazard Park/Ramona Gardens Community. Think CRA Biotech Corridor.
Former Legacy LA Jenny Krusoe's gift of the Hazar Park Armory was predicated on her support of Jackie Autry's attempt to loot the artifacts of the Southwest Museum and moved them to the Autry National Center in Griffith Park. I think that Councilman Huizar announced at one time a "great victory" upon the creation of the Southwest Society.
Your thoughts..............

Jose would not know how to tell the truth if it hit him in the head.

Scott is right that Jenny Krusoe lent her name to Huizar's initial betrayal of Northeast LA in the creation of the Southwest Society -- a completely fake organization that supposedly was going to raise money to rehabilitate the Southwest Museum. This was a giant lie by the Mayor, Huizar, Jackie Autry, and the clinging "friends of the Mayor."

Soon thereafter, Krusoe through Legacy, was given control over the Hazard Armory Park. But Krusoe herself was such a fraud, it was not long before the Legacy gig fell apart and the Southwest Society's greatest moment was the single press conference where our fraud of a mayor announced its formation in front of a bunch of television cameras.

But Huizar had his come to Jesus moment when the Friends of the Southwest Museum, the dedicated group of selfless community people, turned out almost a thousand e-mails, faxes, and letters at City Hall when Autry tried to get permits to expand its building to replace the Southwest Museum. Huizar since then has realized that fake press conference groups like the Southwest Society will not get one very far without true commitment. So, Huizar broke from the Mayor and was a key person is stopping Autry's complete theft of the Southwest Museum.

Autry's version of the Southwest Society is DEAD. All of the ass-kissing friends of the Mayor and Huizar who lent their names have a very big egg omelet dripping from the faces.

The most telling part of Red spot's latest unintoxicating binge of Huizar-bashing is that he's returned to his pre-election trains of derailed thought.

And that's because he completely understands that the election of March 8 is already over and the drama queen pretender to the thone of CD14 is just another guy who wasted hundreds of thousands of dollars on an ego-boost, and failed.

BUH Bye Rudy Rich, you grave-robbing Glendale Republican.

Even Red Spot has given up on your chances of squeeking one out two weeks from today.

By this time next week, Mama Juanita will be telling you to pack your boxes and try to get the cleaning deposit back from whatever Eagle Rock rental you've been pretending to live in since last fall -- and to go back to living OUTSIDE the City of L.A.

CD 14 does occasionally unseat incumbents, but never EVER for carpet-baggers.
