CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar: "I only support beer and wine licenses for sit down restaurants"
But then, there are numerous exceptions to Councilman Jose Huizar's public pronouncements, especially when campaign money is involve as noted below.
09/23/10 7-Eleven Inc. Dallas, TX 75201 Jose Huizar Council Member - District 14 1325226 - HUIZAR FOR COUNCIL 2011 A - Monetary Contribution Received (OTH - Other) [Period: 07/01/10-09/30/10] $500.00 [Election: 03/08/11]
Then, there are the communal repercussions that include the likes of supposed community leaders, GRYD programs, illegal vending and the possible lost of the American Dream for an Navy Veteran. More on this in a later post.
Your thoughts..............

Mock Funeral Vernon Power Plant Protest
Councilmember José Huizar led more than two hundred community members in a mock funeral procession recently to protest against the City of Vernon s proposed power plant. The mock funeral procession included a hearse and community members dressed in black to symbolize the likely increase in community deaths due to the large number of toxic emissions the plant would produce. Residents of Boyle Heights are concerned about dangerously high amounts of pollution and the particulate matter, which could travel from the new plant and affect neighboring communities.
All in the name of saving kids from pollution. Right, Mr. Huizar?

One of Huizar's greatest accomplishments as an inexperienced councilman is HE CAN BE BOUGHT. Yup, he was bought out by 7 Eleven knowing on that street corridor alone there are many bars, stores and restaurants that sell beer and wine. Sadly, you walk into a Food 4 Less or Super A in Boyle Heights and all you see right as you enter is displays of BEER not soda, vitamin water but BEER. WALGREENS is also coming to Boyle Heights and guess what? They too are going to sell beer and wine. Huizar is nothing more then a Mexican Mafia thug in a suit opening his hand to be paid off anyway and the hell with the kids and seniors in his area.

Scott Johnson, I'm gonna save about a thousand words, and cut right to the chase.
You're a lunatic.
PFaaaaaaah
P.S. It's STILL legal to serve alcohol at Rec & Parks facilities with a permit and licenses catere, you diseducated, ultra-iggorant BOOB.

Rid Spurt.
His opponent in this election OWNS A SLEAZY BAR in mostly RUN DOWN AREA of Highland Park, where he caters to COLLEGE STUDENTS binging on the weekends.
What the HELL could be the problem with a retail establishment - one who's corporate policy about underaged drinking is probably one of the most conscientiously observed in the country - getting a liquor license.
AND, once again, you addled DOLT, do you REALLY think a guy who makes 180 THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR can have his VOTES BOUGHT for $500, when he can RAISE a half-million every damn election???
That's ONE THOUSAND times $500.

Really, Scottie?
Two weeks before the election, this is the best you can come up with against Huizar?
A $500 donation from 7-11?
OKAY HUIZAR SUPPORTERS... we can all leave the Mayor Sam's blog now.
They're shooting blanks.
Let's start the victory partys early!

There's are reason why incumbents political opponents never try and use these small unrelated constributions against sitting councilmembers.
They just don't connect.
The average voter has more sense than Red Spot does than to try and link $500 to a council vote.

While it's probably an unpaid gig, this at least verifies that Higby hires the handicapped.
Good for you, Higby.

That's funny he spends his Saturday nights listening to me on internet radio.
I doubt I would be doing the same.

The issue is not bars or restaraunts or 7-11's. The issue is liquor which has ravaged our community for centuries. Having indigenous blood, just like Native Americans our physiology was not made to handle the fire water - that's a proven fact. Native Americans recognized this and don't allow alcohol on reservations. It is a shame OUR leaders look the other way and contribute to this tragedy for a mere $500. But I guess vendidos have no price on them.

YOU SAID IT - WITH A PERMIT - ask Legacy LA to cough up their permits for the times they have had functions serving liquor!

Just a note to MayorSam bloggers and commentators - we're not to mention the stay-at-home blogger by his actual name here on MS.
I've deleted the comments. If you feel a need to take issue with something he says do it on his blog or at least come up with some other name to refer to him by.
I don't have time for the complaints.
