A week removed from the resounding victory by the Anthony Portantino/ Ardashes Kassakhian-linked, "Democrats United Slate", in the rerun of the 43rd Assembly District Democrat Delegate Elections, the Assemblyman Mike Gatto-linked "Burbank Blog", states the following .........., "Aryan, or Armenian, Supremacists?"

The "Gatto Truthers" at the Burbank Blog have taken Racial Identity Politics to a new low in the 43rd Assembly District.

** Since the genesis of our bloggin coverage of now 43rd Assembly District Assemblyman Mike Gatto, the one constant has been the Astro Turf-proclivities of the Burbank Blog, in its unwavering, fanatical support of the nearly, termed out Silver Lake Lawmaker. But in its first comments since last Sunday's 43rd AD Democrat Delegate Rerun Election, the comments posted below take Racial Identity Politics to a new low.

From the Burbank Blog (July 21, 2015) ............., "Aryan, or Armenian, Supremacists?"  Supporters for for Assembly candidate Ardashes Kassakhian and Senate candidate Anthony Portantino showed up en masse to prevail in the local Dem party delegate election redux which the party ordered after finding massive fraud by their supporters the first time.  The two prevailed this time only after whipping up an ethnic furor with "my race first" tactics that have no place in our swirling melting pot of a community.  Articles like this one called "By Any Means Necessary" are emblematic of the "us first always" rhetoric.  We know we speak for most when we say that bad taste in our mouths appears to be 1950s cornbread from the deep south.  What gives this white, privileged group the right to be so radically ethnocentric?

Just a thought, but if someone (or a certain ethnic group) was the target of ethnic cleansing in regards to exerting their right to vote, then in hindsight, a "Democrats United" response was the appropriate reaction?

** Will the "Political Soul Brothers" of the Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee, reunite on the (Exchange) Stage to help settle a "2015 Campaign Debt? Surprise, surprise, the just re-elected "Political Soul Brother" of City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson, CD 14 Clowncilman Jose Huizar, is having money issues ......., again. From non-payment of Property Tax, to an alleged "Quitsale", the just re-elected Officeholder (BTW, who went to Princeton) just can't figure out how to (politically) live within his means (excluding the largess of the Special Interests). According to his most recent 460 Officeholder Account Report, Huizar is $54,000 in the hole, this due to the purchase of "Huizzy Goodies", given mostly to Senior Citizen Voters. Thus, as more campaign bills come due, it would not surprise us to see a "Political Soul Brothers" return engagement at The Exchange (with entry predicated on the appropriate contribution).

We will legislate (and break campaign promises) for your Special Interest Contribution.

Morning Briefs on "The Well-Oiled Machine" for Monday

After last week's impressive Re-election Victory via "The Well-Oiled Machine" of CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar, discerning media scribes are wasting no time in keyboarding missives on what will become known as "The 2015 CD 14 Wipeout".

So how does a supposed, level battle for the hearts and minds of the less than 10% of CD 14 voters that care to cast ballots, become a Grand Canyon-like abyss, which the Gloria Molina Campaign would never resurface from, in her failed attempt to unseat the self-noting Princeton Graduate Incumbent?

Fred Register, the longtime Altadena-based Political Consultant tells the LA Times David Zahniser that time dedicated to actual campaigning played a role ........, "I do absolutely think that if she was really determined to do this, she should have started much earlier," said Fred Register, Molina's campaign consultant. 

Indeed, Team Huizar was lubricating its victorious Election Machine in late 2013 by identify loyal community voting blocks (with a total of 10,000 votes as a goal), then granting them funding for their respective community endeavors (ex. Eagle Rock Music Festival, El Sereno Bicentennial Parade, Bringing Back Broadway), which successfully countered the negative media, generated by his multiple episodes ofTonto-like behavior.

Thus, by the start of 2015, the Public and Privately-finance Huizar Re-election Machine was not going to succumb to a abbreviated, Twentieth Century-styled Campaign, devoid of Social Media messaging, and especially, with no Downtown LA presence.

** From Glassell Park's Tony Butka, here are a couple a reasons why, in his opinion, that the ex LA County Board of Supervisor went down on last Tuesday.

As to why Gloria Molina did so poorly, I think there were two main factors.  First, she really wasn't ready for the rhythm of a 2015 City election process.  Huizar went after that huge vote by mail crown with the some $800,000 he had in the bank before Molina even got serious about playing in January.  His consultants and humongous campaign staff did a bang up job, too. Heck, I was even invited to friend one of them on Facebook -- and yes, I accepted :-). 
The second reason is that Molina just didn't have a ground game.  She did well in the debates, but if over 1/2 the votes are being locked up while you're talking, who cares what you say or what happens at the polls on election day.  I kept looking for her 'machine' to ramp up, and it never did.  Or if it did, I sure didn't see it.  To be sure, she had a dedicated group of volunteers, but in 2015, that isn't what wins elections.  As I cautioned in my first CityWatch article about the Northeast Dems endorsement, nowhere was written that she would be able to get into a runoff and have the luxury of really running  a campaign.

** From Gene Maddaus at the LA Weekly, with no apologies to East Los Angeles Community Corporation (ELACC) President Maria Cabildo, CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar's Re-election is a victory for ..........., "The G-word". But lets give Parke Skelton credit for stating "what could of been" ........., considering;
The outcome was by no means inevitable. Back in September, Parke Skelton, Huizar's strategist, did a poll that showed Huizar with a slim, two-point lead. Skelton was actually relieved that he wasn't in worse shape."I thought there was a good chance that he might be so far behind I'd have to tell Jose not to run," Skelton said Wednesday. The poll offered Huizar a path to victory. Voters were asked whether things in their neighborhood were going in the right direction, and 63 percent said yes. Skelton's strategy was to barrage voters with mailers to remind them of tangible improvements in their neighborhoods. And as we noted last week, there was a "Public Cost" for that mailing blitz.

In a Mayor Sam Exclusive: we have obtain detailed records of all City Council Mailing Costs from Fiscal Year 2013 to December, 2014, which shows CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar spending close to $128,000 for 326,000 mailers promoting himself.  

 Props to Re-elected CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar for spending $61,832.65 from July 1. 2014 thru December 31, 2014, to pay postage for 154,880 Mailers  of Self-Promotion.

** Blogger's Note: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we have received a response to a California Public Records Act Request, which details the mailing costs for each Council District from July 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014 ......., and the information CLEARLY shows that one, recently re-elected City Councilman, gave no second thoughts to having the taxpayers cover the cost of his pre-election Self-Promotion. CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar in the eighteen-month period, sent more than 326,000 pieces of mail to constituents, which was more the double the amount sent by the rest of the City Council combined. Just in the six month period from July 1, 2014, ending on December 31, 2014, the self-noting Princeton Graduate mailed 154,880 flyers to CD 14 households, costing the taxpayers $61,832.65. The total amount of mailers and their costs in those six months, was almost 500% plus more than the rest of the council combined. As a further comparison, the amount of Public Money spent by Councilman Huizar was 20% of the total Gloria Molina Campaign expenditures. Surely, some discerning observers will have some insightful commentary on this information---Scott Johnson.

The Morning After Brief on the CD 14 Election Day Proceedings

Its all about The Machine as the City Council Incumbents, Charter Amendment 1 & 2 coast to victories, while three sitting LAUSD School Board Members face May Runoffs. But for a self-noting Princeton Graduate, a Mayoral Dream looks more plausible after his impressive victory.

Giving credit to "My Councilman" regarding his resounding (sounding like 2017 Mayoral Candidate) Election Victory.

The Power of the Machine ($1.5 Million), mixed with a healthy dose of Patronage (Mega allocation of CLARTS to targeted CBOs), was just too overwhelming for former LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria Molina, in her quest to beat Incumbent CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar ......, and the numbers tell the magnitude of the self-noting Princeton Graduate's impressive victory.

Gloria Molina 4,033 votes, 23,93%

Nadine Diaz 740 votes, 4.40 %

Mario Chavez 612 votes, 3.63%

The tale of the numbers from a 9% turnout of voters city wide, but more important in CD 14, are already prompting many to speculate that the "formerly-embattled Eastside Councilman", will strongly consider a 2017 Mayoral Campaign against "The Tepid White Mayor" Eric Garcetti. Many in CD 14, especially Molina Supporters, are very disappointed with Team Garcetti, for not backing up its "Anti Huizar Talk", with a Molina Campaign-supporting "Walk", that would of help with growing support and fundraising. Now, the rehabilitated Huizar-fronted, Labor-dominated Machine, can set its sites on a "Tepid White Mayor" come 2017.

With Tuesday's CD 14 City Council Elections less than 36 hours away, embattled City Councilman Jose Huizar is attempting to mislead register Republican Voters, that he is the party's endorsed candidate in the upcoming balloting.

 Kudos Again for another act of deception.

Voter sentiment on Charter Amendments 1 and 2 appears to be souring. At a community forum Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Eagle Rock attended by more than 100 people and featuring candidates for the seat representing Council District 14, including candidates who are opponents and supporters of the measures, event moderator and NBC reporter Mekahlo Medina asked the crowd for a show of hands on whether they support or oppose the charter amendments. According to estimates by several observers, more than 80 percent of attendees indicated they opposed the measures.

Morning Briefs of the CD 14 Campaign Scene for Hump Day

As the candidates in the 2015 Edition of the CD 14 City Council Elections prepare for their last candidate forum/debate, event organizer The Eagle Rock Association (TERA) may want to be open and transparent regarding a recent "Contract" between the organization and the Office of Councilman Jose Huizar.

Is it fair to question the objectivity of Forum Organizer TERA considering ........, In the 2014 TERA State of the Town address, TERA president Bob Gotham started the meeting extolling the accomplishments of TERA. He mentioned that TERA provided $6000 towards the Take Back the Boulevard effort that resulted in the bike lanes on Colorado Boulevard.

So for what and why is TERA given a $5,600 contract? Repayment for support of Huizar's Colorado Blvd. Bike Lanes?

** For those who missed the last "Brass Claws Debate" at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA), former one time CD 14 City Council Candidate and Glassell Park Neighborhood Council Member Tony Butka, keyboards a descriptive missive on the proceedings at City Watch. A Neighborhood Council Disenfranchisement Alert!!

As the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners host a Special Meeting this evening at the El Sereno Seniors Center, to consider downsizing the LA-32 NC from 21 to 15 Members, "recent campaign issues" pertaining to the NC's current President Marleen Fonseca (formerly Terminated LAPD Civilian Employee "Marleen Caudillo") and her employer, the Enginners and Architects Association (the union for grieving DONE employees), merit investigating whether the attempted downsizing, is really a subjective undertaking.

** Blogger's Note: During a time when various candidates for Public Office are seeking to empower voters, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners (BONC) will be holding a Special Meeting this evening in El Sereno to consider a proposal by "Disempowerment LA" to downsize the LA-32 NC from 21 to 15 members. At its last meeting, BONC voted to delay taken a position pending further review and scheduling to promote more community input. What are the reasons for "Disempowerment LA" wanting to take this drastic action? Department GM Grayce Liu cites past quorum issues, but when ask to provide documented background ......., none exists. Further, when a Board Member sought documentation on why the LA-32 NC was placed on Exhaustive Efforts, via a California Public Records Act Request, NONE of the documents given stated an issues with quorum. The real reason for this drastic action is simple, its all about Councilman Huizar's need for control. Last Spring, CD 14 staff was heavily involve in recruiting candidates for the NC and allocating "resources" to those who could supply voters. Thus, the result was the selection of a Huizar-friendly NC ......., and now, the next step is down-sizing to preserve that majority. ** But not before disclosing some inconvenience truths ---Scott Johnson.

** From her October 10, 2013 Civil Service Termination Hearing:

The Department added that the chief of police had made it very clear that if an employee has a DUI arrest the Department will work with them to help overcome whatever the problem is. However, if a second offense occurs, he has stated, there is no room in the Department for that employee and they will be discharged. The Department cannot make special provision for outstanding employees or employees it likes who have received a second DUI. The policy must be uniform across the board. It was with regret that this employee was discharged, but it was the only avenue open to the Department.

Evening Briefs on the Los Angeles Campaign Proceedings for Tuesday

As former Failure Mayor Antonio Villar acquiesce to Northern California Democrats maneuvering that position Attorney General Kamala Harris as the apparent Democratic Nominee to replace Senator Barbara Boxer, the City Terrace Native now eyes a 2018 Run for Governor. 

Will anyone care to support a Failure Mayor for Governor come 2018?

From former Villar "Designated Driver", turned "Political Strategist" Michael "MEAT" Trujillo on today's Antonio announcement ......., "So that plane has landed, will take a quick bathroom break and jump in another!" 

With the airplane that was the "Antonio Villar for Senate Campaign", now grounded indefinitely due to Northern California Democrats out-positioning their southern counterparts, in supporting California Attorney General Kamala Harris to replace Senator Barbara Boxer. The political future of the former Failure Mayor Antonio Villar, becomes a fleeting topic again in the current news cycle this evening.

Meanwhile, "MEAT" has disembarked the DC-9 that was the "Villar for Senate Pipe Dream" and headed back to CD 14 for his "Bathroom Break", coordinating the "Community Support PAC for Huizar City Council 2015 (made up of mostly non-community Special Interest entities)" with fellow Political Stooges "Private Citizen/Campaign Consultant" John Shallman ......., and former CD 14 City Councilman Lauro "Tricky Nicky" Pacheco (** who's Mom is supporting Nadine Diaz).

Of interest (with a yawn for punctuation), is whether "MEAT" will wait around to 2018 to board the DC-3 that will symbolize the "ancient, has been politico", running for Governor? 

** LMAO!! Look who the LA Weekly outed from the shadows of the CD 4 City Council Campaign, none other than the self-crowning California Political Royalty (at partial cost to the taxpayer's) State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First" Staffer, turned City Council Candidate Steve Veres.

BTW Steve, about that IE PAC "Safe Neighborhoods & Better Schools for YOU"? It seems that they have done something quite rare, that is leaving "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" John Shallman with a campaign debt (usually its Shallman's client that have debt issues, be we digress), as Hillel Aron details.

On paper, the PAC for Steve Veres, using the grammatically dubious name of "Safe Neighborhood & Better Schools for Steve Veres for City Council 2015," is the fattest, having spent $85,000 so far, mostly on glossy mailers like this one.
But how could they possibly afford it? The PAC has only raised $35,000 – $25,000 from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 770, and $10,000 from Cordoba Corporation, a construction management company.
The remaining $50,000 is essentially debt, owed by the Veres Super Pac to a political consultant, John Shallman.
Shallman insists that nothing untoward is going on—he claims the IE committee/PAC was hastily assembled, and the checks have come in slowly.
Now we have learned from Shallman something that voters needed to know weeks ago:
The big infusions of cash are pouring in from three big unions: the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, or IATSE, a union that represents many in the entertainment industry; the Teamsters union; and a plumbers unions (it's still unclear which locals are cutting the checks).

......., which makes Veres the Union Tool in CD 4.

Hypocrite on Display!!

"Private Citizen/Shameless Political Consultant" John Shallman says "Yes to Odd Year Elections", while being a paid shill for Corporate Interests supporting Charter Amendment 1 & 2, which would do away with LA's endemic Municipal Elections.

Which face of "Private Citizen/Shameless Political Consultant" John Shallman, is speaking on the video above?

As afternoon showers make their way east across the San Gabriel Mountains Interface, another downpour of bloggin hypocrisy is set to deluge "Private Citizen/Shameless Political Consultant" John Shallman.

The fine folks leading the David-like "Save Our City Election" battle to defeat the Goliaths of Special Interests fronting Charter Amendment 1 & 2, have rightfully targeted the habitual recipient of IRS Tax Liens, for his public utterance of supporting Odd Year Municipal Elections, while charging inflated fees (allegedly) for shilling the opposite as Save Our City Elections states below.

Shallman has changed his tune in 2015, however, now that the campaign to pass Charter Amendments 1 and 2 has become his client. Shallman's staff has defended the campaign's reliance on corporate special interests, many from out of state, to fund their drive to change L.A.'s city charter.

Shallman for his part, has become the reigning poster child of "Client/Consultant Betrayal" this Election Cycle as he puts revenue before supposed long time client relationships, exampled by his much repudiated, racially-themed attack on former client, LAUSD School Board Member Bennett Kayser.

** Judging from the LA Times missive regarding the upcoming Summer Corruption Trial for Montebello Political Crime Family (allegedly) Brothers Tom and Ron, expect the siblings to "sing a tale" that the likes of self-crowning California State Senate Presidente Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First", State Senator Ricardo Lara, and a certain "Los Angeles City Councilman", may not want to take a liking to.

** Just how beholden is CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar to the Downtown Money Interests? LA Times David Zahniser gets ample story budgeting (in the form of column inches) to note the monetary breakdown of his numerous donors and how they affect his decision making.

** Sadly, we must report that the former "Downtown Weekly of Record", has descended into merely being the "Downtown Establishment Weekly PR Organ" as it endorses CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar for another six year term while also pledging "Yes" for Charter Amendment 1 & 2.

** Blogger's Note: In response to our California Public Records Act Request to the Pasadena Police Department regarding an alleged 2005 Sexual Assault involving current CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar at an Old Town Spa (as reported on previously by the LA Times James Rainey), we received in response, the following "Summery" from Records Administrator Alicia Patterson, which we post for disclosure and review. Its readily apparent upon initial review, that then LAUSD School Board President Jose Huizar (who was also running to replace just-elected Mayor Antonio Villar, as CD 14 City Councilman), attempted to lie (or mislead) about his identity to Pasadena PD Investigators, by giving them a "1819 N. Alona, Santa Ana California" address in the first two reports, as noted in the "Summery" below. But property records for the "1819 N Alona, Santa Ana California Residence" do indeed show a "Jose Luis Huizar" as owner, rising more questions (especially regarding the property's 2006 fiscal transactions), than answering, involving this 2005 Incident as we continue below---Scott Johnson.

• Suspect: ** Jose Huizar, 1819 N. Alona, Santa Ana (listed in April 29, 2005 and June 14, 2005 reports), and ** Jose Luis Huizar 4903 Calandria Way, Los Angeles (listed in September 8, 2005 and November 2, 2005 reports). No arrests are noted.
• Witness (excluding victim): Olivia Jobe, Burke Williams Spa employee (not the victim).
• Date, time, and location of incident: April 9, 2005, approximately 9:15 p.m., Burke Williams Spa, 39 Mills Place, Pasadena.
• Dates of police reports: April 29, 2005 (original report), June 14, 2005, September 8, 2005, and November 2, 2005 (add reports).
• Factual circumstances: The victim, then 28, reported the incident on April 18, 2005. The victim alleged she was giving a massage to the suspect, and the suspect grabbed the victim’s legs during the massage and attempted to pull her toward the massage table. Additionally, at the conclusion of the massage, the suspect grabbed the victim’s leg, arm, and breast.

Eagle Rock vs. El Sereno: Is it Votes or Community Needs that determines Discretionary Funds Allocations?

In reviewing just obtain documentation regarding General Council Purposes Fund Allocations between 2010 to Present for both Eagle Rock and El Sereno, we must ask whether it is actual need, or access to distinct voter blocks, that is the determining factor in allocating funding?

** Blogger's Note: For the sake of disclosure, this writer recently served two terms on the LA-32 Neighborhood Council, in the position of Recording Secretary (with the exception of six months during the latter part of the First Term). During most of those four years, the number one allocation of board and committee meeting time was spent on fiscal issues. Year after year, informal or established Community-based Organizations (CBOs) would come before the NC, requesting funding for various projects ......., not knowing that another alternative existed. In a community such as representative by LA-32, especially in lieu of recent, recession-related budget cuts, most service providers, both private and public were in need of supplemental funding. Thus, the NC became the first stop in seeking what meager resources that we could allocated, but as Mayor Sam disclosed, CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar had assess to funding that most were not privy to asking for. Rather, in comparing data from both Eagle Rock and El Sereno Communities, its apparent that an exclusive group of CBOs, with large voting blocks, were rewarded repeatedly with funding, with spikes in allocations during election years, in both communities. One can also extrapolate from the data, that Councilman Huizar was more generous in funding school-based entities within voter rich Eagle Rock in comparison to the El Sereno Community, (** maybe this past poll is the reason?). Thus, reinforcing the perception, that his allocation of resources is not based upon apolitical need ........, but benefit to the self-noting Princeton Graduate's Political Standing---Scott Johnson.

Just Your Typical Brass Claws-style CD 14 Campaign Debate from CSULA

The claws come out as CD 14 City Council Candidates Nadine Diaz and Gloria Molina take swipes at the veracity, work ethic and nefarious behavior of Incumbent City Councilman Jose Huizar, in by far, the most contentious debate of the 2015 City Council Campaign.

The sharp-edged Swipes by CD 14 Challengers Nadine Diaz and Gloria Molina are having a telling affect on the self-noting Princeton Graduate. 

** Blogger's Note: Disclaimer ......, please pardon the bloggin pause due to another DWP Audit-related question (number three on the evening) ........, that out of the way (along with other "beyond CD 14" questioning), those in attendance last evening at the Pat Brown Institute/ League of Women Voters Co-chaired CD 14 City Council Debate at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA), were reacquainted again to what is the norm in campaign dialog, especially when the Incumbent has multiple issues based upon Tonto-like behavior, Huevon-like work ethics, mixed with Machismo-based values. In recent months as details, facts and settlement costs mounted, political observers were opining that the worst case campaign scenario for the reelection prospects of Incumbent City Councilman Jose Huizar, would be a strong campaign from a well-noted female challenger (or challengers). That worst case scenario became reality (in debate form) last evening as the embattled incumbent endured slicing swipes to his already-questionable issues with veracity, work ethics and values from both challengers Nadine Diaz (** who received the NOW Endorsement) and Gloria Molina (and to a lesser extent, Mario Chavez). It was clear that despite the best efforts to buy distance, regarding his past transgressions, via elevated amounts of patronage to key voter blocks, those character issues are only becoming more pronounce as we near the ten day mark to Election Day. Whoever gets the vast majority of the women vote in this race, is positioning themselves for the win in a likely May Runoff. Thus, last evening, both female candidates, especially Gloria Molina took swipes in slicing up Councilman Huizar's questionable attitudes and actions regarding women. By far, the most contentious exchange took place between the Councilman and Molina regarding the former Supervisor's pledge to cut her pay, which prompted Molina to call Huizar "Sexist" for his dismissive retort. But as we near Election Day, many voters may not be so dismissive in choosing to restore behavior and character to the Fourteenth District---Scott Johnson

Mayor Sam Exclusive, Part Three: The CD 14 Real Property Trust Fund from FY 04 to Present

In Part Three of our Mayor Sam Exclusive on the various Discretionary Funds of CD 14, we disclose the revenues and allocations from the Real Property Trust Fund and Oil Pipeline Franchise Fees, from FY 04 to Present. 

 Here is $50,000 dollars in fiscal trimmings for the Barrio Action Youth and Family Center (as authorize by then Councilman Villar in 2004).

** Blogger's Note: In the last of our Three Part Report on the CD 14 Discretionary Funds, we disclose the information pertaining to revenue and allocations from the Real Property Trust Fund and Oil Pipeline Franchise Fees from the 2004 Fiscal Year to Present. These funds, in addition to the Exclusive $100,000 Discretionary Fund given to each Councilperson, were the primary source for dispensing Patronage for then Councilman Antonio Villar in 2004 (as noted on the Page 1 data), before the CLARTS Fund started producing revenue. However in 2010, then Mayor Antonio Villar crafted an agreement with the City Council to have each member within the Horseshoe give up $800,000 from these funds, to make an emergency deposit into the city's Reserve Fund during the dark days of the Recession. Thus, limiting the availability of these funds being use for projects/patronage---Scott Johnson.

Mayor Sam Exclusive Part Two: Disclosure of CD 14 General City Purposes Funds Allocations from 2008 to Present

In Part Two of our Mayor Sam Exclusive, we disclose the documentation detailing CD 14 Councilman Huizar's General City Purposes Funding to Community Organizations from 2008-to the Present.

How much "Patronage Love" has been given recently to the organizations represented at Councilman Huizar's Campaign Kickoff?

Who much Public Money was spent to provide for this 2015 "Rent-a Crowd?"

** Blogger's Note: In Part Two of our Mayor Sam Exclusive, we go where CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar has never gone before. In the years that this blog has reported on the CD 14 CLARTS Fund, the self-noting Princeton Graduate has not made available to his constituents how he chooses to dispense of his Discretionary Funds, or for that matter, a formal process of applying for funding. For exemple, you can link here to CD 8 City Councilman Bernard Parks Webpage to view the most recent report from the City Clerk's Report on the City Council's expenditures of General City Purposes Fund ......., but in CD 14, the absence of not being open and transparent with those details lead to comments such as this from 2009.

Huizy's been gutting the CLARTS fund, $50,000 at a time for years (look up "CLARTS" in the council file database, if you doubt - and see hundreds of thousands wisked away); transferring the $$ into his general purposes cache for pretty much anything he and staff want to use it for, and without any further accountability. They plead poverty, budget cutbacks, reduced discretionary funds -- IF your not one of his supporters, but for the others, there's a handy slush fund they can tap into anytime they wish. You can bet there's nothing left in a fund that was projected at times to produce a half-million each year, and since the specific expenditures were actually FROM his general purposes, the only "trail" will be those $50,000 at a time "for district amenities" transfers. Here's one vague transfer from just a few months ago, there are MANY, many more in the files.

The General City Purposes (GCP) portion of the 2008-2009 City Budget provides funds
to assist local neighborhood programs services and needs in each Council District.
There is a great need for additional funding for community amenities in Council District
Fourteen. This effort is of special benefit for the residents of the City and for CD-14 and deserves financial assistance from the City.
Sufficient funds are available in the CLARTS Community Amenities Trust Fund which could be transferred to the CD 14 sub-account of the Council District Community Services line
item in the GCP portion of the 2008-2009 budget for this purpose.
I THEREFORE MOVE that $50,000 in the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station (CLARTS) Community Amenities Trust Fund No. 47S, Department 14, be transferred to the General City Purposes Fund No. 100-56, Account No. 0714 (CD 14 Community Services) to provide funding for community amenities in Council District Fourteen.

An Objective Forum or a Subjective Ambush to protect the flow of "Patronage"?

On the heels of a successful, objective LA-32 Neighborhood CD-14 Candidate Forum, El Sereno-based 501 3C Organizations and Property Owner Groups, with fiscal and close ties to Councilman Jose Huizar, are planning their own forum, prompting concerns about its objectivity. 

Discerning community members should question whether the groups listed above are more concern with maintaining their "patronage", than having an objective dialog on all the issues affecting the greater neighborhood.

** Blogger's Note: From the "Christmas Tree Smoke-filled mind" of esteem Councilman Huizar-endorsing "Community Leader Joe Cano", we bring this dire warning of ambush that was a "bong water backwash mental episode", come to naught ........., I want to warn folks to avoid going to a candidate forum being planned by members of LA32NC. It is going to be an ambush. The adhoc planning committee is populated by the usual fools Angela Duarte & Jose Aguilar two known Huizar haters & Kaprisha Vallecillo head of the committee appears to be promoting Scott Johnson's racist blog. The candidate forum last night (actually Saturday morning Joe) in Boyle Hgts had a group of hecklers all Gloria Molina supporters. Val Marquez was there with his troll of a sister Tere, Jose Aguilar, Angela Duarte, Scott Johnson and all of them Molina supporters. The event being planned for the 13th is nothing more than an ambush. Boycott the event on the 13th it is a setup.

With no apologies to the noted "Corner Store Stroller", it would seem that "Community Leader Joe Cano" would rather have you attend the February 19, 2014 'exercise in civic engagement (or is it an ambush to protect the "Patronage Daddy"?) planned by assorted community groups at Farmdale Elementary. We are attempting to ascertain form the Gloria Molina Campaign, who and how, they were invited to this event, but in noting recent Councilman Huizar Campaign Mailers and recently-obtained fiscal documents (which will be disclose on Sunday), they may want to reconsider not attending this questionably-objective forum ....., when reviewing organizations fiscal and campaign ties disclosed below, to the embattled Incumbent---Scott Johnson.
