An Afternoon Brief on the Burning LaBonge for Wednesday

What is the resulting "Corrupting Smell" when the Unofficial Historian of the Los Angeles City Council becomes the "Burning LaBonge of Public Documents"?
Why would the Burning LaBonge want to keep secret his Sister City Endeavors (meant expenditures)?
** Blogger's Note: For those who were regular observers of the Los Angeles City Council during the just-concluded, CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge Era, will find it hard not to remember a time when the Griffith Park-representing Officeholder, would cite some historical footnote or antidote, pertaining to official business ........., and especially his travels on behalf of "Sister Cities of Los Angeles".

A Message from your City Clowncil Central Committee General Secretary/Strongman Herb(man) "Mini Amin" Wesson

We bring you this Official Message from Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee General Secretary/Strongman Herb(man) "Mini Amin" Wesson, on the unauthorized (by me) CD 4 Election Victory by non-endorsed outsider David Ryu.
Appetite for Backroom Redistricting creates Trouble for the Political Machine in CD 4.
An Official, Bloggin General Secretary/Strongman Directive!!
Let me (more like ....., I shall) be the first to say congratulations (with ring hand extended for affirmation/kiss of loyalty) to the newly elected (who allowed this blatant Act of Democracy on my Central Committee??) Council District 4 Councilmember-elect David E. Ryu (it was supposed to be Andrew Wastall before he made a mess of my Redistricting/Partitioning of the Spoils Scheme). Councilman-elect Ryu won a hard fought (what happens in Backrooms, stays in Backrooms) and historic victory (this is the first time Koreatown defied its "Dear Leader") that will enhance the diverse (haha!!) make up of the City Council (its Central Committee damn it!!). I am looking forward to working (ie. you work for me) with the Councilman-elect (F&%#!! This repugnant Act of Democracy shall not stand!!)  and putting his energy and can-do (as I decree) spirit to use serving the residents of the fourth council district (whoops!! Meant to say "campaign contributing developers of CD 4, but "Mini Amin" digress) and our great city (as I see fit).

Your Dear Leader ..............

Evening Briefs on the Los Angeles Campaign Proceedings for Tuesday

As former Failure Mayor Antonio Villar acquiesce to Northern California Democrats maneuvering that position Attorney General Kamala Harris as the apparent Democratic Nominee to replace Senator Barbara Boxer, the City Terrace Native now eyes a 2018 Run for Governor.
Will anyone care to support a Failure Mayor for Governor come 2018?
From former Villar "Designated Driver", turned "Political Strategist" Michael "MEAT" Trujillo on today's Antonio announcement ......., "So that plane has landed, will take a quick bathroom break and jump in another!"
Meanwhile, "MEAT" has disembarked the DC-9 that was the "Villar for Senate Pipe Dream" and headed back to CD 14 for his "Bathroom Break", coordinating the "Community Support PAC for Huizar City Council 2015 (made up of mostly non-community Special Interest entities)" with fellow Political Stooges "Private Citizen/Campaign Consultant" John Shallman ......., and former CD 14 City Councilman Lauro "Tricky Nicky" Pacheco (** who's Mom is supporting Nadine Diaz).
Of interest (with a yawn for punctuation), is whether "MEAT" will wait around to 2018 to board the DC-3 that will symbolize the "ancient, has been politico", running for Governor?
** LMAO!! Look who the LA Weekly outed from the shadows of the CD 4 City Council Campaign, none other than the self-crowning California Political Royalty (at partial cost to the taxpayer's) State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First" Staffer, turned City Council Candidate Steve Veres.
CD 4 City Council Candidate Steve Veres: "Believe ME!! I am nobody shadowy tool!"
BTW Steve, about that IE PAC "Safe Neighborhoods & Better Schools for YOU"? It seems that they have done something quite rare, that is leaving "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" John Shallman with a campaign debt (usually its Shallman's client that have debt issues, be we digress), as Hillel Aron details.
On paper, the PAC for Steve Veres, using the grammatically dubious name of "Safe Neighborhood & Better Schools for Steve Veres for City Council 2015," is the fattest, having spent $85,000 so far, mostly on glossy mailers like this one.
But how could they possibly afford it? The PAC has only raised $35,000 – $25,000 from the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 770, and $10,000 from Cordoba Corporation, a construction management company.
The remaining $50,000 is essentially debt, owed by the Veres Super Pac to a political consultant, John Shallman.
Shallman insists that nothing untoward is going on—he claims the IE committee/PAC was hastily assembled, and the checks have come in slowly.
Now we have learned from Shallman something that voters needed to know weeks ago:
The big infusions of cash are pouring in from three big unions: the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, or IATSE, a union that represents many in the entertainment industry; the Teamsters union; and a plumbers unions (it's still unclear which locals are cutting the checks).

......., which makes Veres the Union Tool in CD 4.

TGIF Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine

After multitudes of interviews with the double-digit amount of candidates seeking to replace termed-out CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge, the Los Angeles Times endorses former Councilman LaBonge Staffer, turned Small Business Owner Sheila Irani.
The LA Times Endorses Sheila Irani for City Council District Four.
CD 4 Candidate Steve Veres, staffer of self-crowning, California State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First", did not even merit "creditable mention" in the Time's CD 4 Editorial.
Here is some papers that CD 4 City Council Candidate Sheila Irani wouldn't mind being served with.
In the much awaited LA Times Endorsement for the City Council District Four Open Seat, the Editorial Board sat through multiple interviews before bestowing its coveted support for the former Councilman LaBonge staffer, turned Small Business Owner.
The Times states of Irani ........., "Irani is intelligent, quick on her feet and has a background in business, real estate investment, city government and volunteer community work, all of which would serve her well on the council. Armed with an MBA from UCLA, she launched a small marketing business that helped public-sector clients across the country promote congestion-easing transportation initiatives. She has a sense of the hurdles faced by small-business owners in L.A. Like most of the candidates in the race, she favors business tax relief, although she's not willing to drain the city budget to do it".
Surprising in the Times Editorial is the lack of "creditable status" given to the top two money candidates David Ryu and especially in the case of Steve Veres, the Staffer to self-crowning political royalty California State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First".
Apparently, the Establishment Machine's Candidate Veres, did not impress the Editorial Board with his creative scheme of securing free help from "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" John Shallman before wife Lani's "West Coast Public Affairs" started during work for the IE Campaign (with undisclosed benefactors), supporting his campaign.
** CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar took time out of his b-u-s-y campaign schedule to host his first El Sereno Townhall Meeting in recent times at Farmdale Elementary. With the usual assortment of cronies such as Hugo "Comandante" Garcia, Eddie "paid for Honorary Mayor" Santillan, Joe "noted Corner Store imbiber" Cano and Tammy "Maytag" Membreno in attendance, roughly 60-75 Stakeholders (with about 20 Huizar staffers filling the seats), spent about 90 minutes discussing community issues (well ...., mostly Cal Trans related).

Say It Ain't SO, Tomas O'Grady!

What happens when the supporter of one City Council candidate sues an opponent of the candidate and serves papers on said opponent at a candidates' forum event? In today's day and age, the candidate puts his hands over his ears screaming "La la la la la la la!!!" and his supporters go apoplectic.

Have any proofreaders on staff?

That's what happened when a piece at MyLANews.com reported that Hollywood Hills resident Eugene Matthews filed suit against CD4 candidate Sheila Irani, for allegedly chopping down trees on his neighboring property. Irani has denied the charges.

Where it becomes a sticky wicket is that Matthews is reportedly a major supporter of Irani's opponent, Tomas O'Grady.

And that wicket becomes stickier a O'Grady, in distancing himself from Matthews, did not condemn Matthews apparent theatrics as being in bad form (particularly in that they would potentially benefit O'Grady) but approached a victim like stance telling participants on a community Facebook page that he wished to be "left out of it."

O'Grady further steps in it it with a blog post "Please Leave Tomas O'Grady Out These Disputes" (with apparently the same headline proofing troubles MyLANews.com has) singing "Don't cry for me, Silver Lake / Los Feliz" cementing in this blogger's mind that the good Mr. O'Grady is not ready (after a previous run for Council four years ago) for prime time and will not be able to do battle as a Council Member in the matter that his District would need, now more than ever.

President Day Holiday Evening Briefs on the Campaign Scene

Its apparent that State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First Staffer and current CD 4 City Council Candidate (via the San Fernando City Council and LACCD) Steve Veres, is becoming the "Campaign Bad Boy", as he and "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" John Shallman play loose with Campaign Financing Rules.
Honest!! John Shallman was working for free (prompting many, including myself to LMAO!!). Photo via the LA Times.
** Blogger's Note: To the point, WTF are CD 4 City Council Candidate Steve Veres and "Private Citizen/ Volunteer Political Consultant" John Shallman trying to pull with their thinly-veiled attempt to coordinate Campaign and IE Committees (allegedly)? This type of reckless campaign behavior, recently seen in the now litigious 2013 City Attorney Campaign by now City Attorney Mike Feuer and "Private Citizen/Discount Rate Campaign Consultant" John Shallman, can only do hurt to one's political aspiration of being elected to his second City Council. We can speculate that the new found audacity by the "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" to manipulate Campaign Finance Rules, is driven by a need to create new revenue streams for Shallman Communications (and wife's Lani's West Coast Public Affairs), to offset growing interest on any tax liens ......, but again (with regards to a Mr. Andrew Cowan), we are ONLY speculating---Scott Johnson.
** BTW, to Veres for City Council Campaign Spokeshole Brian Van Riper, were the percentage (and total) of contributions from those "associated with the Central Basin Water District", higher than the number originating from within CD 4? Graph via the LA Times.
CD 10 City Council Candidate Grace Yoo had some great company on the Campaign Trail in Leimert Park, with CD 8 City Councilman Bernard Parks (with family) joining her for a "Meet & Greet BBQ".
We bring you this Special Message from 39th AD Assemblywoman Patty Lopez (via the Facebook Page of the Cindy Montanez for City Council Campaign).
CD 6 City Council Candidate Cindy Montanez with Assemblywoman Patty Lopez.
I am endorsing Cindy Montanez for LA City Council for the following reasons:
We will share many communities in our districts
We both want to improve and protect the integrity of our communities.
We want to improve the delivery of public services.
We want to establish accountability and a sensible spending of our tax dollars....

We are not afraid of being transparent even when is not always in our favor
There is no special interest behind her campaign (like mine)
She is knowledgeable, intelligent and has the energy, experience and most important the willingness to help establish the much needed collaborative effort between my office and the City.
I will ask my supporters and friends to please join me in supporting Cindy Montañez for City Council.

A Sunday Cyber Tour of the CD 4 Campaign Proceedings

Join us for a Sunday Cyber/Social Media Tour of the current CD 4 Campaign Proceedings as a bunch of candidates seek to be the replacement for Councilman Tom LaBonge come July 1, 2015.
We have documentation that all the candidates wishing to replace CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge in 2015, can fit in one, wide photo (via Carolyn Ramsey).
** Blogger's Note: Its good for broodingly the municipal perspective of a certain CD-14-centric blogger to look beyond the western shore lines of the Los Angeles River, on occasions, in search of bloggin content, especially during the every-other-year LA City Council Election Cycle. Thus, with cyber map embedded, we commence on a cyber stroll outing to CD 4, in search of campaign content of interest. Please note, if you have any CD 4 Campaign content you wish to share, you can contact myself at redspotincd14@yahoo.com ---Scott Johnson in CD 14.
How much was the Special Interest Carbon Footprint for State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First" staffer Steve Veres latest endorsement?
Sadly, as our cyber tour of CD 4 City Council Campaign commences, the first thing we notice upon crossing the banks of the LA River, is the concentration of single use plastic bags within the Willows-thriving and Homeless-residing waterway (especially within the area of Griffith Park, south to the Riverside Avenue Bridge). That said, was it now Candidate Veres boss, who besides preserving the corrupt municipality of Vernon, also was the supporter in preserving the industrial city's Plastic Bag Manufacturing Base by initially, opposing the Single Use Bag Ban?
BLOGGIN NEWS FLASH!! Its Tacos with Tomas (O"Grady) Sunday.
Nothing like a Taco Break on Cyber Tour.
The 2011 runner-up to Councilman Tom LaBonge, Tomas O'Grady is building upon his Daily News Co-endorsement (with Teddy Davis) by hosting a "Tacos with Tomas Event between 2-5 PM today. While not having the monetary resources of the likes of David Ryu, Steve Veres and Carolyn Ramsey, expect O'Grady to make a top-tier placement in the March Election.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

We bring you this bloggin PSA on the pratfalls of over-indulging in Political Pipe Dreams, that lead to Narcissist Episodes of delusional thoughts of future Political Grandeur, as a former "Failure Mayor" seriously contemplates a run for US Senate.

Beeber to Seek CD4 Seat

Los Angeles parking/traffic activist, Jay Beeber, who was the force behind ending the city's red light cameras and is now part of the team spearheading the Los Angeles Parking Freedom Initiative, has announced his candidacy for the Los Angeles City Council, to the District 4 seat to be vacated by the term limited Tom LaBonge in 2015.

Beeber joins a crowded field including former Assemblyman Wally Knox.

In a statement released to press, Beeber said “Year after year, the same problems continue to plague our city while our elected officials maintain the status quo”, said Beeber. “I believe it doesn't have to be this way and we can do better. We must demand that City Council Members concentrate on the issues that most affect us in our daily lives and listen more closely to the people they represent. Los Angeles' best days are ahead, but only if we begin now to fix what's wrong.”

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

Mayor Eric Garcetti uses AFL-CIO National Convention Speech to mend relations with Organize Labor, Will a "Brother and Sister, Cutting of the Bread" with LA County Labor Federation Strongsister Maria Elena Durazo happen in the near future?
Mayor Eric Garcetti gets lift from his Brothers and Sisters in Labor.
Great Thursday to everyone as the healing vibes of progressive brother and sister reconciliation fill the Third Floor Corridor of 200 Spring Street. The "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" ( aka LA Times), is gushing this AM about the pending healing of the riff between Mayor Garcetti and County Labor Federation Strongsister Maria Elena Durazo. What is the big surprise here? Mayor Garcetti was, is and always will be a progressive friend of true laborites, who help him win in May. Thus, the likes of local labor elites such as Boss D'Arcy, Bob Schoonover and Durazo, will only do what comes naturally, that is mend the political fences and push the collectivist agenda forward.
** While the labor progressives make up, the post election honeymoon is over for former Radio Talk Show Host/ Mayoral Candidate/ now Board of Public Works President Kevin James. James takes it on the political chin in a piece by superb ( and sadly), outgoing LA Weekly Writer Patrick Range McDonald, who reports on the secretive process of bypassing community input, in approving a new CD 4/6 Fire Station. We want to wish the blogging best to McDonald as he leaves the "Weekly of Record" to write a book.
** As McDonald sadly moves on from the "Weekly of Record", recent musings from its "Informer Blog" by Dennis "Bloggin Comandante" Romero, are causing us to wonder if he has become the "Lil Assemblyman Mikey Gatto Bloggin Informer". Follow along, Assemblyman Gatto proposes a Bill on broken parking meters, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Assemblyman "Lil Porno Mikey" stonewalls on Porn/ HIV Bill, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Assemblyman Gatto proposes legislation on Hit and Run Accidents, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses. Then yesterday, Assemblyman Gatto proposes a bill on Carpoll Lanes Assess, the "Gatto Bloggin Informer" muses again. Maybe "Journalist Jill" should ask Gatto Campaign Consultant Parke Skelton to offset the "Gatto Bloggin Informer's" salary?
** Speaking of Parke, if his client is going to run for CD 4, he may want to look up the Silver Lake Environmentalists, who whacked declared CD 4 City Council Candidate and State Senator Kevin De Leon Staffer Steve Veres, with this opinion piece in the Echo Park Patch. Rest assure that Veres Boss proclivities to support plastic bags, is just the beginning of this latest John Shallman Consulting debacle.

Former City of San Fernando Politico, Senator De Leon Staffer and current LACCD Trustee Steve Veres declares for CD 4

From the "Political Novellas" of the City of San Fernando, with a state pay check as a staffer to State Senator Kevin De Leon and moonlighting as a Los Angeles Community College District Board Of Trustee Member, Steve Veres want to be the next CD 4 City Councilman in 2015.
The affable and upward conscious, now CD 4 City Council Candidate Steve Veres.

** Blogger's note: The Campaign to replace CD 4 City Councilman ( and Marshall Gridiron Star) Tom LaBonge, grew by one today as LACCD Trustee and State Senator Kevin De Leon Office Director Steve Veres declared his candidacy with the Press Release below. Veres, as the smile indicates is an affable and seasoned political player. Upon his current boss State Senator Kevin De Leon's election to his previous Assembly seat, the insider joke in the CD 14 portion of the Assembly District, was that the Assembly District Office supervised by Veres, provided better constituent services that the three CD 14 Field Offices combine. That said, Veres will face the same political rhetoric the San Diego native Senortor De Leon had to endure, being a political carpetbagger. Then, surely, his City of San Fernando links, especially to the recent political novella, starring former City of San Fernando Politicos Maribel "Sancha" De La Torre and Mario "Tonto" Hernandez, are only a couple of You Tube videos away below. As a side note, we wonder how potential CD 4 Candidate, Assemblyman Mike "Lil Porno Mikey" Gatto, feels about Senator De Leon's staffer jumping in on his turf? Stay tune!!---Scott Johnson.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

As the likes of Teddy Davis and Carolyn Ramsey declare their respective intentions to seek the open CD 4 City Council Seat in 2015, we await an announcement from a certain former Silver Lake "stay at mom's", state elective official, on his CD 4 plans.
Do you remember this petulant, stay at mommy's, "Infant Assemblyman Lil Mikey" Gatto?
Well, that now alleged non-ceasing or desisting cleanser of Armenians from the 43rd Assembly District Delegate Voting Rolls, has mature into Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey" Gatto.
As the now Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey" Gatto nears the end of his second term in Sacramento, his team of "Gatto Truthers", both on the state payroll and at the Burbank Blog (same thing), have endeavor to raise the profile of the Silver Lake native, via legislation on broken parking meters and raising the "Global Minimum Wage" ( we kid you naught). But with other potential candidates such as Andrew Westall, Andrew Lachman, Stephan Box and others mulling a formal run, "Slobo Mikey's" political past (or a certain blog), may come back to haunt him.

**Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council supports preservation of Hazard Park**
While CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar vacations South of the Border, the BHNC was voting to support the preservation of Historic Hazard Park, in opposing the "University of Scandalous Conduct" (USC) proposed Norfolk Street Extension through park space. The 14-0-3 vote sent former State Senator, now USC paid shill Martha Escutia, heading out the door in disgust.

Introducing 2015 CD 4 City Council Candidate Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey Gatto"

Mayor Sam chronicles the growth of Infant Assembly "Lil Mikey" Gatto, into future 2015 CD 4 City Council Candidate Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey" Gatto, the ethnic cleanser of the 43rd Assembly District Democratic Party.
Who do paranoid, self-center Infant Assemblymen like "Lil Mikey" Gatto, grow up to become as they reach political maturity?
The former Infant Assemblyman has now become the 43rd AD Assemblyman "Slobo(dan Milosevic) Mikey" Gatto for his alleged recent purge of Armenians Democratic Delegate Candidates.
43rd AD Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey" Gatto.

** Blogger's note: In 2015, the race-baiting, future CD 4 City Council candidate pictured above, wants to become the latest democratic Sacramento failure to gain a public sector pay raise in Los Angeles City Hall. Our coverage of the political evolution of Mike Gatto has been well-chronicled and his disdain for us has been merciless via his Arkan-liked fanatics known as Gatto Truthers. but more troubling js "Slobo Mikey's" treatment of political opponents and the Armenian Community. Ron Kaye in his Sunday Column, reports on the troubling actions of Assemblyman "Slobo Mikey" during the recent 43rd AD democratic delegate selection process as we excerpt below.

Many participants came away infuriated, claiming Armenians were singled out by Brenner for challenges in an attempt to intimidate them out of voting — a claim that was given credence by the regional party official overseeing the election.“There were 30-some challenges issued to voters, and it was relatively noticeable that most of the people who were challenged had Armenian surnames — whether that was intentional or coincidental, it certainly didn’t look nice,” recalled Karen Wingard, who oversaw two other delegate elections where there were no challenges or controversies.“I doubt that an Assembly member who was a good Democrat would indulge in what appeared to be voter suppression. It had an unpleasant appearance. I have never seen anything like it so I emailed two party officials afterward about what happened.”The phrase “good Democrat” came up a lot that day.A flier circulated at the meeting attacked Garen Yegparian, an activist and columnist for the Armenian publication Asbarez, regarding his tough criticisms of the assemblyman in a six-part series of articles labeled “Grimy Gatto.” Noting his support for Republican election candidate and longtime friend Greg Krikorian, the flier questioned Yegparian’s party loyalty, saying in large black letters that he “SUPPORTS REPUBLICANS OVER GOOD DEMOCRATS.”In an impassioned one-minute speech, Yegparian recalled saying: “I held up that piece of paper and said, ‘It’s all true except for one thing, Mike Gatto is not a good Democrat. Mike Gatto is a vile creature. We have to work to eliminate this blight from our district.’“

....... and if you are still in denial about "Slobo Mikey", consider this rant from thee Gatto Truther Blog

This past weekend the Democratic Party held its ADEM votes.  These are get togethers in each Assembly district, where individuals run to become state-level party delegates for 2013.  Not exactly picking between Biden and Hillary here.  My good friend [wo]manned the tables, and I attended to vote.
And it was there that we all encountered the new Larouchies.
The Armenian National Committee of America, Western Region, shares much in common with the Larouchies and little in common with Democrats.  Its members don't really believe in Democratic values.  A - They are anti-gay-marriage, and their leaders have said so repeatedly on television.  B - Their tactics are consistently racialist, combative, and unbecoming of small-d democratic principles.  C - Further, I am not the only one who has overheard anti-Semitic comments or heard of ANC members spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Lets hope that "Slobo Mikey" never becomes "Bull Conner Gatto" or CD 4 City Councilman Mike Gatto.
