Some further thoughts on the Huizar - Godoy Affair (meaning Sexual Harrassment Claim)

As CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar denies the Sexual Harassment claims of former Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy. We ponder whether this latest controversy to befallen the Princeton Graduate CD 14 City Councilman will have profound consequences come 2015.
Former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy, victim or scorned ex staffer of interest for Councilman Huizar?

What a week to return to the local blogging cybersphere!
We make a snide, tongue in cheek comment about being exile, along with former CD 14 Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy by Mrs. Jose Huizar and come Monday afternoon, well, everyone in City Hall knows by now what is the big topic of the day.
We should state from the blogging get go that we do not take issues with sexual harassment likely or any form of degrading behavior directed at females in the workplace. A few years back, we noted here at Mayor Sam an incident at a National Night Out Event where Councilman Huizar verbally abused a now former female staff member.
Further, we have over the years been the recipient of comments that alluded to speculation about inapproiate relationships between City Councilman Jose Huizar and various workplace associates, including Francine Godoy. But unless the veracity of the information checked out, they merited no further ado.
That said, the allegations in the complaint filed by the former $135,000 a year employee of Councilman Huizar, is an unexpected twist in a former work relationship deemed "Special" by a close confidant of both.
The quick promotional rise within the CD 14 Council Office Chain of Command by Godoy has provided bloggin fodder for speculation within the last few years. While former Chief of Staff Ana Cubas was face that most CD 14 observers saw in the field, Godoy was the "other woman" behind the scenes who's duties included the handling of contributions to the CD 14 Officeholder Account. Rarely would Godoy be sighted at community events, yet she was the major power broker within the City Hall Office, leaving some to speculate that it was Godoy who help pushed Cubas out into a fail CD 9 City Council Campaign.
But while both Cubas and Godoy both fought for top woman status, there is no doubt who is the reigning queen within the CD 14 Office Culture and that would be Richelle Huizar. Some had speculated that it was the wife of the CD 14 City Councilman who engineered the transfer of Godoy to the Bureau of Sanitation. It should be noted that in the past when Godoy's name would surface on the blog in regards to alleged inappropriate interactions with the current councilman, Mrs. Huizar would make herself visible at the City Hall Office.
In recent months, sources had Mrs. Huizar engaging former Mayor Antonio Villar in one on one discussions in the efforts to find Godoy another city job with comparable pay. But that was not to be and the results ................, are to be continue.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

30th Congressional District Candidate Congressman Brad Sherman's "Meltdown" inspires this Parody via Burbank/Glendale Citizen Journalist Peter Musurlian.
Wonder if the young actress can impersonate a certain "Infant Assemblyman"?

** OTHER NEWS:
** The Downtown News Editor and "Scribe of Wit" Jon Regardie, finds one local politician who maintains a healthy level of skepticism, regarding the NFL returning to a newly-built Farmers Field in Downtown LA.
Speaking at a Downtown lunch event today hosted by the Los Angeles Current Affairs Forum, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas expressed skepticism that the league stands ready to make a deal with Anschutz Entertainment Group that would result in having pro football in L.A. for the first time since 1994.
“I don’t know that you can trust the NFL in terms of negotiating,” said Ridley-Thomas during the event at the Sheraton Hotel. “You think it’s Farmers Field, but they’re out right now negotiating, optioning the project somewhere else. That’s what they do. Why? Because they always want to stir it up. And they’ll never tell you.”

These comments may not go over well with Thomas brother and sisters union friends.

** The Downtown News also has the exclusive of the new incarnation of the former politically-connected real estate firm of Meruelo-Maddox, which is now called Evoq Properties.
After a two-year court process, Meruelo and Maddux were ousted as part of a reorganization plan that allowed an outside investment group armed with $23.6 million in private equity to take a majority share of the company. New management was implemented, with Martin Caverly, who previously ran a real estate consulting firm, taking over as CEO.

Gone are the days when you can buy some contaminated property and have LAUSD make you a big profit through Eminent Domain.

Its CLARTS Fund Anniversary Week in CD 14
October 18 will be the second anniversary of CD 14 City Councilman's Jose Huizar's last public full disclosure on the status of the community amenities CLARTS Fund, created by former CD 14 City Councilman Nick Pacheco. Throughout this week on the blog, we will go back in time and bring you examples of past expenditures and moment of political disinformation on the status of the fund. In today's flashback, we post a video of former Councilman Pacheco briefing the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council on his expectations for the amenities fund.
Former City Councilman Nick Pacheco discussing now Councilman Huizar's "salary slush fund", to the Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council.

Will Councilman Huizar honor the October 18 Anniversary by providing up to date accounting on the CLARTS Fund expenditures? We may have a special bloggin proclamation later this week.

Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo's "Notice to Comply" via Department of Building and Safety

Mayor Sam discloses City of Los Angeles Building and Safety Department's "Notice to Comply Order" against the controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School
Happy Columbus Day to Controversial Educator Marcos Aguilar and Councilman Jose Huizar. Photo via EGP News.
There is no hiding the fact of the close relationship between CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar (on the right in photo above) and controversial educator and charter school operator Marcos Aguilar (in native costume). Aguilar was a strong supporter of Councilman Huizar's reelection, galvanizing his school followers, to work on Councilman Huizar's behalf. But was that support predicated on past favors by the councilman, especially when it came to Zoning/Building and Safety issues?,
Academia Semillas del Pueblo Campus at Old El Sereno Library. Can you find the illegal playground?
Recently, we have disclose a letter to Councilman Huizar from business and community members, that highlighted parking and zoning concerns regarding the Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School locations that "bookend" the popular "Hecho En Mexico Dining Establishment" on Huntington Drive in El Sereno. These concerns have led to tension between the close neighbors which have included unfounded allegations and protests against the long establish dining location. But as the documentation below states, its the Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, that has been operating illegally.

Academia Semillas del Pueblo illegally converted the parking lot at the Old El Sereno Library site, into a illegal playground, for the past few years and have been order by the Building and Safety Department to comply with this order or face "additional fines".

But despite this current "Notice to Comply Order", we must question why the illegal action by Academia, was overlooked for so long, even after business and community members stated in writing, their concerns to Councilman Huizar ( which was never responded to). Maybe there is an inconvenient truth (or smoking gun memo) that shows some sort of illegal accommodation between Academia Semillas del Pueblo Founder Marcos Aguilar and political allies such as the one pictured below?

Pause with Us as we go Fishing for ............

Pardon us as we pack our bloggin fishing pole and and bait, to catch our limit of political fish stories.
After last night's LA-32 Candidate Forum, where substance was lacking and a supposed attack poorly executed by the Councilman Huizar's "new blood candidates". One of the Huizar's "new blood candidates" pictured above, should understand that when a supposed community leader remains silent on a blatant racist attack, then its fair game to bring up this past allegation about a close family member.
We should take the time to offer our thoughts on Councilman Huizar's latest poorly coordinated attempt to intimidate a citizen journalist, but the councilman's actions always provide great bait for our bloggin fishing excursions. That said we may share some of our latest "catch" with the "Princeton Graduate" in the near future.
The sunken ships of the likes of the "Empty Vessel called Chris Essel", "DA Carmen Trutanic" and others, have created great new bloggin fishing environments" that have prompted us to rent a trawler with "dragnets". Join us later for our latest sampling of this great catch.

We bring you this important message about a "Racist, Bloggin Candidate for LA 32 Neighborhood Council"

Does Edward Santillan fourth from left) support this racist attack?

Some people (or useful politico tools) just don't comprehend the First Amendment....... and in the past, Mr. Cano had some comments when the LA Weekly reported on CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar's eviction of the LA-32 NC, from its public office space.

Good Morning Councilman Huizar!! About our "conversation" yesterday ?

CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar (partially blocked from view by woman in green and black) greeting his favorite constituent blogger. (** BTW, "Ricky Coca Puffs", left of his boss, needs to lighten up on Saturday mornings).

Great Sunday morning to CD 14 City Councilman (and BTW, an aspiring Charro who graduated from  Princeton) Jose Huizar I hope you are enjoying a great weekend after your appearance to rightfully credit most community members, who's vision, with your support, will bring the new "Mickey's Parklet" to fruition in the coming months.

A festive occasion for all in the El Sereno Community.

In the near future, shoppers from the likes of Newland Hardware, Food 4 Less and Mickey's Liquor, will final a mini spot of recreation and relaxation as they execute their shopping chores. Your "Huntington Drive Improvement Vision and Action Plan is a good read, but as we have reported here on  Mayor Sam (truthfully, backed by the facts), there are continuing issues on Huntington Drive that need prompt resolution which leads in to our yesterday "dialog".

Councilman Huizar can't bear to view the facts on Mayor Sam.

On the subject of "liars" ..............
It saddens me that you turned a mere constituent request on a public meeting regarding the future of Hazard Park, into an attack on my bloggin veracity (BTW, great example of officeholder behavior in public). We have stated this before to your re-election supporter Academia Semillas del Public "Head Tata" Marcos Aguilar and will share this disclaimer with you, regarding our bloggin coverage.
In what is becoming this writer's standard disclaimer......, let me state that we endeavor here at Mayor Sam to base our musings on the facts. If we choose to incorporate speculation, we label it as such. Plus, in the course of writing we have the right to question all possible story angles base upon the information at hand and craft our product in a style that may incorporate satire, mixed with parody. That is the bloggin way (especially for this writer).

In the case of our coverage of the on going issues at the controversial Charter School, we are very aware that only the facts are expose, especially in reporting on a trouble institution of learning (that is why LAUSD professional staff recommended non-renewal of charter) who's actions may have a detrimental effect on the children it supposedly serve. We stand by our reporting and commentary. We also extend the invitation to Academia Semillas del Pueblo staff and supporters (** including a certain CD 14 City Councilman supporter), to respond in writing to any of our coverage which we will post in the interest of a communal dialog. That is what blogging promotes, truthful dialog, not legal threats. (or allegations of lying by a certain City Council supporter).

Maybe Councilman Huizar, before you attack another journalist (or in my case, a mere citizen bloggin commentator), take the time (with your mini sock puppet communication director Ricky Coca Puffs), to engage the true community liars. For example Councilman Huizar, is it true that within a shouting distance of your attack on this blogger's veracity, a certain collective coffee shop, operated illegally? Is it true that a certain collectivist charter school, set up an illegal "drop off, pick up zone" on Huntington Drive? Plus, Councilman Huizar, did a certain collectivist charter school, attempt to restrict our bloggin expression and Freedom of Speech?.

Lastly Councilman Huizar, this constituent blogger will continue to report on your actions as CD 14 elected representative, whether you like or not. That is my right as bestowed on all American citizens in the First Amendment. Contrary to the thought process (or self-serving rants of his boss) of "Ricky Coca Puffs", the only agenda of this bloggin commentator, is to share the truth behind your political dealings. including those of a community-deceiving charter school and those that may condemn this  Hazard Park tree pictured below, to death in the name of the "Trojan Horse of Community Destruction"

In closing Councilman Huizar, this tree Hazard Park, and community await a open townhall meeting set up by you. Plus, this blogger will work with you objectively, in an open, transparent manner, but not compromise my right to dissent (or agree) on other community issues.

Councilman Jose Huizar celebrates a "Mere Parklet" while supporting a pending "Arbor Massacre at Hazard Park"

Time to give props to another Princeton Graduate's "Act of Political Hypocrisy".
From the Spin Office of (almost forgot to say Princeton Graduate) CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar.
Councilmember José Huizar and Living Streets LA are excited to present the brand new "Huntington Drive Improvement Vision and Action Plan.” Join us to celebrate its completion on Saturday, September 29 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in front of Food 4 Less, the site of our recently approved Street Plaza. Saturday's celebration will highlight many of the other improvement ideas the El Sereno community came up with for Huntington Drive through  numerous workshops, which resulted in the Huntington Drive Improvement & Action Plan booklet, with limited copies being distributed at Saturday's event.
This is part of a larger effort that will bring four parklet projects all in Council District 14 – which will represent the City of Los Angeles’ first parklets and lead to future pedestrian projects throughout the City where parking spaces can be turned into public plazas and other uses.

MEANWHILE!! An Arbor Massacre is Pending at Hazard Park
Councilman Jose Huizar gained City Council to FAST TRACK support for the following ......
PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE REPORT relative to a review of the existing street standards involving street dedications, street improvements, street lights, and street trees for the community surrounding the University of Southern (USC) California Health Sciences Campus, including Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. Recommendations for Council action, as initiated by Motion (Huizar - Reyes): 1. AUTHORIZE the processing of B-permits. 2. INSTRUCT the Planning Department, Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Department of Recreation and Parks (to give up park land), and the Bureaus of Engineering, Street Services, and Street Lighting to report back to the Planning and Land Use Management Committee on December 4, 2012 with a status report regarding the review of existing street standards involving street dedications (demolish park handball courts), street improvements (widen Soto Street by taking park land), street lights (show USC employees the way to work), and street trees (killing park trees) for the community surrounding the USC California Health Sciences Campus, including Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, for conditions that are no longer relevant within the proposed street beautification project. Fiscal Impact Statement: Neither the City Administrative Officer nor the Chief Legislative Analyst has completed a financial analysis on this report. Community Impact Statement: None submitted. (** Its hard to submit an impact report with three days notice Councilman Huizar)
These "park trees" don't look like street trees. City Council will meet on Tuesday to vote on Councilman Huizar's "Arbor Massacre".
.......... and for USC Lobbyist and former Mayor Sam awardee David Galaviz?
He can laugh now knowing that he lied to Northeast Trees and the Greater Hazard Park Community, about USC not taking any of Hazard Park.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for fFriday

The Price is wrong for CD 9!
State Senator Curren Price speaking at City Council in support of controversial redistricting plan.

Here comes another Sacramento retread in search of a pay raise.
The trail to 200 Springs Street is getting full of "burrocrats" laden with the carpetbags of termed-out state politicos in search of their next public paycheck.
The likes of Assemblyman Gil "One Bill" Cedillo, Mike Davis, Felipe "Mini Padilla" Fuentes, Bob "2 Jobs" Blumenfeld and now State Senator Curren "Wrong" Price, are seeking to bring their fail Sacramento ways to the Horseshoe.
For politically-astute CD 9 voters, it must be a laugh and galling at the same time, to have Price seek their support to replace current Councilwoman Jan Perry.
In the video above, Price is heckled by CD 9 constituents, as he showcases his enabling abilities in supporting Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson's back room-crafted Redistricting Plan. Considering that the Redistricting 2012 fiasco has now gone to litigation, it is conceivable that CD 9 may revert back to its old boundaries, despite Price's support of stripping the economic assets that now reside mostly in CD 14.
But when that day comes, most CD 9 constituents will have hopefully voted that the "Price was not Right" for City Council.
** Memo to Public Safety Committee Chairperson Mitch Englander, where are the safety cameras in Harvard Park? A grieving community awaits your leadership and action .....
** Hermon secessionist leader Joe Riser defends his actions in seeking another term on the Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council. This progressive/neighborhood battle masks the fact that financial issues are being white -wash by DONE.
Memo to the Building & Safety Department, Academia Semillas del Pueblo's "Tata" Marco Aguilar and CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar, care to join the El Sereno Community in playing "Lets Find The Parking Lot" at the Old El Sereno Library? Parking-starved local merchants would appreciate your help.
BTW, I thought it was illegal to have street venders, conducting business next to a school location?

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

City Hall Outsider Kevin James woos audience at Glassell Park Mayoral Candidate Forum
Receives Endorsement of District Attorney Steve Cooley
Former Federal Prosecutor and Talk Show Host Kevin James.
The upstart mayoral campaign that could, is going places .........
Judging from the phone calls from prominent community activists who were in the audience last night at the Glassell Park Senior Center (located mere feet from CD 13 City Councilman Eric Garcetti Field Office), James was far above the best candidate at last night's proceedings.
James gained the audience favor from the start, by merely showing up on time for the 6 P.M. start of the forum. City Councilwoman Jan  Perry, City Councilman Eric Garcetti and City Controller Wendy "The Valley Greuel", in that order, were late in joining the proceedings.
James successful evening in Glassell Park , forged a great Thursday morning as the James Campaign received the endorsement of Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley as Randy Economy of the Los Cerritos Community News reports .......
Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley will announce his support and endorsement of former Federal Prosecutor Kevin James for Mayor of Los Angeles at a media event on Friday, Los Cerritos Community Newspaper has learned. In a statement obtained by LCCN, Cooley said he believes that “James will make an outstanding Mayor and that Kevin James is the Mayoral candidate best qualified to tackle the many problems confronting the City of Los Angeles.”Cooley and James will answer questions briefly afterward at the event that will begin at 10 am on the South Lawn Steps of Los Angeles City Hall.Cooley’s endorsement of James is considered to be one of the most important in this early stage of the 2013 Mayoral campaign for Los Angeles.

Does Cooley's endorsement open the door for needed monetary support, merits watching in the weeks ahead.

A Reminder to CD 14 constituents that your City Councilman voted AGAIN to raise DWP rates.
Councilman Huizar once again turns his back on his constituents by voting to raise DWP rates. For those of you who voted to re-elect the Princeton Graduate, the above graphic should pain your soul.

Memo to CD 2 City Councilman Paul Krekorian, bombastic rhetoric has its price .... in legal costs
Two self-serving, bombastic politicos.

This describes the "real Paul Krekorian" via Ron Kaye.
In the rubber-stamp LA City Council, there are posers and phonies, blusterers and know-nothings and then there is Paul Krekorian — the ambitious, articulate chief apologist given to creative use of his lawyer’s mind to defend the indefensible.

Let Paul articulate the spin to explain this waste of taxpayers money .........

Last week, a jury awarded Contreras $5.7 million with the judge likely to award fees to his attorneys that will bring the bill to about $2 million more than the settlement offer that Krekorian chose to reject.Instead of admitting he made a mistake and wasted $2 million the city desperately as it slashed services to the public and tries to squeeze concession from city workers, Krekorian was unrepentant.“If the city has to pay some more to show that we stood up and supported our police officers when they did nothing wrong then so be it,” Krekorian . “It’s money well spent.”

Reminds me of that $4 Million + "messy exercise in democracy" by a group of occupiers. I Don't remember Paul commenting on that waste of money.

This picture is dedicated to former City Controller Laura Chick.
Laura, holding grudges is not the way to live life.
These facts via Ron Kaye still stings the former City Controller ....
EDITOR’S NOTE: The lawsuit between the Controller and City Attorney over authority to audit the operations of other elected officials was ultimately found to be moot by the state appellate court because by the time the trial court ruled against the Controller Wendy Greuel, City Attorney Trutanich had cooperated voluntarily in the audit of his office’s handling of Worker Compensation cases. “On his first day in office, Mr. Trutanich had reversed the position of the former City Attorney and invited the Controller to conduct the audit. He remained true to his word, not only cooperating with the auditors but providing City Attorney’s office staff to support the audit team,” the appellate court said. (Greuel-Trutanich)

Wondering if Laura still thinks that the Hahn Administration was more corrupt than eights years of Mayor Villar?

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

Ron Kaye: "Wake Up Call for Wendy, Jan, Kevin and Eric: Here Comes Rick Caruso into the Mayor’s Race with a Blank Check".

Is a Mayoral Press Conference in Developer Rick Caruso's future?
The Era of Hamlet is over.
That would be the "political Hamlet era" of Developer Rick Caruso, if Ron Kaye's recent post on the supposed mayoral candidate to be, comes to fruition.
Some background via Kaye's post.
The word is that he’s telling friends hemight will announce he is running within two weeks and already is lining up a TV ad buy to promote his candidacy after the presidential election in November. One source said that billionaire-philanthropist Eli Broad held a fund-raising event last week to put a tough pension reform measure on the ballot and went around personally asking everyone in the room how much they would put into the kitty.Caruso reportedly begged off, saying he would soon be facing a lot of political expenses. How much, he was asked.Without hesitation, he reportedly said: “$15 to $20 million.”

The thud sounds you just heard were "The Valley Greuel", Garcetti and assorted city unions check books, falling to the ground.

** Paging the City Controller! We see some great auditing potential (and media coverage) in finding the waste in the higher-than-industry-average salaries paid to DWP employees. But would an audit of DWP salaries run counter to the "suggestions" of The Valley Greuel's "bag man" IBEW Strongman Brian D'Arcy?

** While the likes of Eli "Lord Broad", former Mayor Richard Riordan, the "Mini-Riordans" and others raise money to finance a measure to bring about pension reform, hundreds of union members will protest at City Hall. In addition, LA Times David Zahniser is reporting that union chiefs are talking lawsuit, if the City Council supports Mayor Antonio Villar's pension reforms.

** Downtown News Editor Jon Regardie is on the receiving end of AEG's LA LIVE City State Strongman Tim LIEweke's spin job, pertaining to the pending sale of the city-finance entertainment mini-state. We should note that the approval process for the proposed Farmers Field, steamroll onwards to its appointed final vote in the City Council.

** BREAKING NEWS! Pending Tree Kill at CD 14's Hazard Park!! ** The location of the kickoff to Mayor Villar's "Million Tree Initiative" (minus the trees to be kill to make way for the "Trojan Horse of Development").
Congratulations indeed to Sierra Club endorsed CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar for his latest act of political hypocrisy, in supporting the pending deaths of mature Sycamore trees at the location of Mayor Antonio Villar's Million Tree Debacle.
The Mayor and "a wannabee mayor" planting "Esperanza" at Million Trees Kickoff. Esperanza would transpire tears at Councilman Huizar's tree-killing actions on behalf of USC.
Now at the end of a "mayoral reign of failure", did Million Trees Executive Director Lisa Sarno personally tape these death sentence notice to each tree?
All these trees to the base of the hill will face death to make way for the "Trojan Horse of Progress" at USC Health Science Campus. Once again public input be damned and the hypocrisy of supposed community leaders will lead to this senseless slaughter.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

We are on bloggin "Rick Caruso for Mayor Watch".
Is 2013 the year "Hamlet Caruso" becomes "Mayoral Candidate Rick Caruso"?
The time may be right ..........
Judging from the formerly "LA Antonio Times" story budget allocated to the latest Rick Caruso for Mayor missive, its looking like the "Hamlet" of Los Angeles mayoral candidacy, is in serious consultations regarding joining the list of 2013 candidates to replace fail two-term Mayor Antonio Villar.
Its been an open secret since Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky's announcement that he was not a candidate to replace Mayor Villar, that business interests and other city activists have been imploring The Grove Shopping Center Developer to become a candidate.
If Caruso does become "Candidate Rick", it would not be a surprise to see former LAPD Chief Bill Bratton supporting the former Police Commission Chairperson, who was instrumental in replacing former Chief Bernard Parks with Bratton.
The Mayor Sam Blog has attempted to contact Caruso's longtime political adviser Matt Middlebrook, but as of this time, we have not received any response.

**  The Daily News Rick Orlov reports in his Monday "Tipoff Column" that Republicans may play a big role in deciding the 30th Congressional District Jihad between Congressmen Howard Berman and Brad Sherman. We should also note that Republicans have some past documentation of certain questionable financial transactions of a "former Sherman staffer". More on that in the near future.

** As Zev ponders who to bless in the 2013 Mayoral Race, a "Shriver Kennedy via Santa Monica" and a child actress named "Zelda" are themselves contemplating replacing Zev on the Board of Supervisors in 2014.

** A "Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro" honors Antonio "El Charro" Aguilar.
The "Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro" CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar.
The dedicated statue to Zacatecas native and famous Ranchera Musician Antonio "El Charro" Aguilar at Olvera Street.
Zacatecas native CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar  honor one of his own  with a statue on Olvera Street yesterday as noted in the LA Times and the cost?
Most of the about $200,000 cost was covered by private donors, including the University of Guadalajara Foundation and Sigue Corp., Huizar's office said. The city contributed about $50,000.

Will Councilman Huizar state why any public money was needed?

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Friday

Will Poverty Pimps shake down the "AEG LA LIVE City-State" for Affordable Housing?
AEG LA LIVE City-State in Downtown LA.

Shakedown time for the AEG LA LIVE City-State Farmers Field proposal.
It took ten hours for AEG LA LIVE City-State Strongman Tim LIEweke to get the rubber stamp needed from the Planning Commission to move his Farmers Field and city-subsidize convention center to the City Council for a final rubber stamp. But all of the AEG's gran plans may face a court room challenge from a rabble coalition of poverty pimps.
At a separate City Hall hearing on the stadium, Natural Resources Defense Council senior attorney David Pettit urged city officials to help restart talks between AEG and a coalition of anti-poverty activists challenging special state legislation intended to speed up approval. The Play Fair at Farmers Field Coalition filed a lawsuit last month seeking to invalidate a state law written for AEG that limits lawsuits against the stadium to a 175-day period. The group, which includes the renters' rights group Community Action Network, said it wants AEG to provide $60 million for affordable housing, or $2 million a year over 30 years.

Look for the poverty pimps to get some AEG/taxpayers tribute to keep this boondoggle moving onwards.

** The Daily News has given its endorsement to Congressman Howard Berman in the contentious 30th Congressional District jihad .

This week, Berman made some headline-grabbing additions to his list of endorsements when Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina announced their support, praising Berman's willingness to talk policy with Republicans such as them. That confirms what our editorial board already saw as Berman's most important quality: At a time when voters say they want their representatives in Washington to show more cooperation and less partisanship, Berman does this better than Sherman.

Got to wonder how Assemblyman Mike Gatto will take this editorial slight of his former boss?

**CD 13 City Councilman and 2013 Mayoral Candidate Eric Garcetti has shown his repeated ability to speak in generalities, but in his first major policy address as a mayoral candidate, these specifics regarding current Mayor Villar staffers is sure to garner attention.
Garcetti spoke in broad themes, and offered relatively little in the way of concrete proposals. He did, however, signal that he will distance himself from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, saying that he will force all of the mayor's department heads to reapply for their jobs.
"If they want to stick around, they'll have to prove they have what it takes to meet our city's urgent economic imperatives," Garcetti said.
That would be a break from past practice. Mayors have tended to keep some of their predecessor's top staffers.

Can you see LAPD Chief Charlie Beck updating his resume?

Lastly, we have a "Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro" sighting from East LA
Wondering if the CLARTS Fund paid for the Dear Charro's wardrobe and horse?

City Council votes to oppose any form of the 710 Freeway

In the words (posted below) of Concern Neighbors of El Sereno's Val Marquez (lower center), today was a historic day for El Sereno and the credit should go to among others, CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar. ** We agree to a point, predicated that the lion share of the credit goes to community members who's stance influence the councilman's decision-making process, as noted by Ron Kaye.

VICTORY FOR EL SERENO! In an historic vote, LA City Council passed a Resolution today, authored by Huizar, Reyes and Garcetti, to oppose the 710 freeway alternatives that threatened to destroy our community

Following a special Transportation Meeting held yesterday, Councilman Huizar made an amendment that added alternative F7 - the TUNNEL option - to the Resolution. Opposing ALL the 710 freeway alternatives that threatened to run through the Northeast communities.

Councilman Huizar led the charge this morning, convincing ALL fellow Council members, who voted UNANIMOUSLY in favor of this Resolution.

This is a MAJOR and HISTORIC step toward preserving our community.

This sends a clear message to Metro and Caltrans that the Northeast communities will not sit idly by while our communities get destroyed by this senseless project.  The struggle continues until they take this off the table entirely!

We are especially thankful that we now have leaders, with special credit to Councilman Huizar, who are standing with us to protect our neighborhoods.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

Once again, Monica Garcia's LAUSD targets the El Sereno Community as a repository for tainted educators and a fail Charter School.

Mayor Sam has learned that former controversial Miramonte Elementary Principal Martin Sandoval "was" reassigned to El Sereno's Sierra Park Elementary. "Was" because of the actions of informed parents such as Mari Cameron who post this comment on The Voice Community News Facebook Page.......
Friends i am horrified...Superintendent Deasy...SHAME ON U..Some1 please tell me it isnt so..my son attends Sierra Park Elem..Well we had the pleasure of welcoming a new principal interestingly enough it was the same principal from Miramonte elementary school..Martin Sandoval..Sure dump him off in El Sereno..Surely no1 in El Sereno has axcess to newspaper, internet or tv..tHANK gOD he was removed after four days and the LAUSD barely made it public today after the fact.. Mr Sandoval was responsible for the whole notification debacle at miramonte elem.. He failed to notify ALL parents that a teacher in his employ for many years was behaving and engaging in lewd acts with students.. A man such as this has no place in public education..

Again, LAUSD School Board President Monica Garcia shows her respect for the supposed community that she resides. This, on top of her continuing support of the controversial, and potentially dangerous Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, should prompt community member to consider her removal at the ballot box in March.
Your Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro Councilman needs YOU!!
A urgent special message from your Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro City Councilman Jose Huizar (via CD 14 Propaganda Director Rick "Coca Puffs".).
The Huntington Street Plaza is very close to receiving final approvals. Councilmember Huizar and Living Streets LA need everyone’s help to clear the last hurdle to realizing your (HaHa! just joking, I take credit for everything good in CD 14) plans.During the next week, the City Council will be deliberating on the Council District 14 Parklet pilot program that will give us permission (like "your" permission to allow Academia Semillas del Pueblo to operate next to a establish eatery the serves alcohol) to build our Street Plaza on Huntington Drive as a demonstration of improvements that could be made citywide. One key point in the deliberations will be confirming that there is broad community support for the project (Academia will provide its "rent a crowd" for the price of overlooking past zoning and lack of permit issues). So, we urge you to attend the Council Committee hearings on August 21st and 22nd and the Council meeting on Friday, August 24th to show your support. (but please no comments on the CLARTS Fund or questions from El Sereno merchants regarding zoning issues at "Tata Marco's" esteem collective for Azteca indoctrination).

We should note that El Sereno residents can raise their loyalty score on Councilman Huizar's Constituent Discrimination, whoops, Contact List, by speaking in glowing terms on the positive vision for a better El Sereno tomorrow, as envisioned by your Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro. (** Plus look what a perfect score on the list did for "new Councilman Huizar staffer Julio Torres).
Team Obama's "Great Latino Hope" for Four More Years.
The "Great Latino Hope" for Team Obama's forlorn quest for a second term, will meet with the local masses of assorted "Dependentcrats", "Dummycrats", "Socialists" and his remaining friends from his brothers and sisters of the local unions. As the "Great Latino Hope" nears his appointed departure time to depart for Charlotte, North Carolina, to act as the Payaso Chairperson of the Democrat National Convention, he will take time to reaffirm his support for his union brothers and sisters, to continue their practice of using dues money to remake California into "Greece on the Pacific" via a "no vote" on Prop 32.
Los Angeles County Democratic Party Presents
"Countdown to Charlotte" with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

WHAT: Los Angeles County Democratic Party Presents "Countdown to Charlotte: What's at Stake in 2012" with Democratic National Convention Chair and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa

With just two weeks to go before the Democratic National Convention, Mayor Villaraigosa will contrast President Obama's commitment to moving America forward (towards a merge with Moscow) with Mitt Romney's upside-down economics that will only serve the one percent. (Occupy speak)

Mayor Villaraigosa will also speak publicly for the first time on why he is opposing Proposition 32, the deceptive Special Exemptions Act on the November ballot. (democrat code speak for reform that hurts the their stranglehold on power in "Greece on the Pacific")

Proposition 32 purports to be about "stopping special interests," even though the measure actually gives special exemptions to corporate special interests and Super PACs while silencing the political voice of California's everyday heroes - teachers, firefighters, nurses, and police officers. (** maybe Tony might want to debate former State Senator Gloria Romero who is supporting this needed reform?)

WHEN: Tuesday, August 21, 2012. 7:00 PM

WHERE: IATSE Local 80. 2520 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA

WHO: Hon. Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor, City of Los Angeles and Chair, Democratic National Convention
