The "Valley Villar Greuel" totally attempted to gag her three mayoral opponents by calling them liars.

After weeks of seeing her tired talking points of "Waste, Fraud and Abuse" face factual deconstructing by the old, new media, along with her opponents, the Villar Greuel (along with "Private Citizen/ Campaign Consultant" John Shallman), snapped yesterday.

The Villar Greuel Campaign went "Pinocchilo" in an attack mailer on opponents Eric Garcetti and Jan Perry which resulted in this retort from Perry Campaign Consultant Eric Hacopian.

“The only thing revealing about this mailer is that they just confirmed to the world which candidate is in third place,” he said in an email.

Meanwhile, another of the "Valley Villar Greuel's" opponents Kevin James held a press conference in the shadow of City Hall.

James, a former federal prosecutor, opened a new line of attack against Greuel, saying she was stonewalling in responding to a public records act request for her email with campaign advisors and Brian D’Arcy, business manager of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 18.The union, which represents more than 8,600 Department of Water and Power employees, has put $700,000 into an independent committee backing Greuel.“What do they have to hide?” James asked reporters outside City Hall. “Where are the documents?”At a morning campaign stop in Studio City, Greuel said she would need to ask her city staff whether any email between her and D’Arcy existed on her city account. But she denied stalling any response to records requests.“We’re transparent,” she said.

** LA Weekly's Patrick Range McDonald has two election-theme missives in this week's print edition. First, is an attempted unscrambling of all the candidates in the crowded CD 13 Campaign to replace Mayoral Candidate Eric Garcetti. Second, is an excellent feature story on the Emanuel Pleitez for Mayor Campaign. Regardless of the fact that Pleitez is not given much of a chance at winning. the mere telling of his life experience is an inspiration for those growing up in similar circumstances.

** KPCC Frank Stoltze provides a written narrative on the ongoing battle between the Villar Greuel for Mayor Campaign and the Los Cerritos News duo of Randy Economy/ Brian Hews. Some of the nasty exchanges.

“This is very strange behavior from someone who claims to run a tight ship,” Hews said online.  “She claims to be the city’s chief auditor, but a review of her record shows she’s really just L.A.’s chief campaigner.”Earlier, the LCCN obtained records of Greuel’s schedule that the paper said was evidence Greuel's controller's office staff illegally worked on her political campaign on city time. Greuel said they were off the city clock at the time.The Greuel campaign also hit back at the newspaper by obtaining and releasing the arrest record of the reporter who did the story.“It was the lowest of the low,” Hews said. "This was a split-second decision that turned out to be an error on our part,” Greuel spokesman Dave Jacobson said.  “Distributing materials highlighting someone’s substance abuse was a mistake."  It's worth noting it takes more than a split second to obtain and distribute an arrest record.

....... and it won't take that much longer to Vote for Kevin James on Election Day.

City Councilman Jose Huizar gets profane (in Spanish) in describing the actions of Monica Garcia's LAUSD School Board associates.

Memo to CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar, would you care to elaborate on your “Pendejadas” political associates?

For our Gabacho/a y Pocho/a readers, Pendejadas, pendejo y pendeja, can translates into the following uses.

** Pendejo/ Pendeja = Ass…. Or Jerk (Also can mean nonsense)
** Look at the Pendejo (Ass…. Or Jerk)
** Don’t start with your pendejadas (bull…../ nonsense)

Being among the audience at last night LA-32 Neighborhood Council LAUSD District Two Candidate Forum, it was readily apparent to of majority in the audience that the Princeton Graduate was in nervous mode. Despite the fact that the current leader of the host NC is predisposed to working with the councilman (in her words), the overwhelming support of those in attendance last night, was with anyone ......., but Monica.

We’ll leave the summery of last night’s dialog to the various media entities in the house (LA Times, LA School Report Blog and KPCC), but lets renew focus again on some speculation for the current nervous state of the “Dear Charro, Princeton Graduate” CD 14 Councilperson.

In yesterday’s installment of “Morning Briefs”, the following was posted about Huizar’s alleged “duo dealings” with his endorsed candidate of (Papi Villar’s choosing) Wendy Greuel and council colleague Eric Garcetti.

I've got some intel for you...
Huizzy is playing both Valleys Politicos (Cardenas, Padilla, Fuentes, Nury) by supporting Wendy, but is supported Herb Wesson during redistricting...the play is that Fuentes will become Council President. Herb is scared, and is hoping Curren Price wins CD 9 to keep the balance of power.
Also, Huizzy is trying to mend fences with Garcetti just in case he wins. So he has sent his favorite staffer, Erick Martell (** of Happy Hour Birthday Party fame) to "play" with Garcetti's campaign, i.e., his role in making sure Garcetti gets the LACYD endorsement.

If Huizar is playing both sides, hedging his bets on who replaces Papi Villar, then I gather some would say that the “Dear Charro, Princeton Graduate”, is one of many of  Papi Villar’s “Pendejadas Two-Faces”, who value political self-preservation more than their principles.

Garcetti has slight lead in latest Mayoral Poll

LA Weekly's Gene Maddaus reports mayoral candidate CD 13 City Councilman Eric Garcetti, has slight lead in latest independent poll.

Can Garcetti forge a progressive coalition city-wide to "occupy new third-floor office space" at 200 Spring Street?

According to the "Weekly of Record's" Gene Maddaus, City Councilman Eric Garcetti has a narrow lead over the "Villar Greuel" in a private poll. The poll, which was not commissioned by any of the candidates, states the following results .........

With 44% undecided and as the "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" highlights today in its print edition, all four of the major campaigns are "coalition builders in progress", as they seek to create the political formula that will garner a top-two finish in the March Election. For Councilman Garcetti, that effort took him into fellow candidate Emanuel Pleitez's El Sereno hood for a "meet and greet" at the Antigua Bread Store. Judging from the photographs below and from eyewitnesses accounts, the former City Council President was warmly received by prominent members of the largely-Latino community.

Will Poverty Pimps shake down the "AEG LA LIVE City-State" for Affordable Housing?

Shakedown time for the AEG LA LIVE City-State Farmers Field proposal.

It took ten hours for AEG LA LIVE City-State Strongman Tim LIEweke to get the rubber stamp needed from the Planning Commission to move his Farmers Field and city-subsidize convention center to the City Council for a final rubber stamp. But all of the AEG's gran plans may face a court room challenge from a rabble coalition of poverty pimps.

At a separate City Hall hearing on the stadium, Natural Resources Defense Council senior attorney David Pettit urged city officials to help restart talks between AEG and a coalition of anti-poverty activists challenging special state legislation intended to speed up approval.The Play Fair at Farmers Field Coalition filed a lawsuit last month seeking to invalidate a state law written for AEG that limits lawsuits against the stadium to a 175-day period. The group, which includes the renters' rights group Community Action Network, said it wants AEG to provide $60 million for affordable housing, or $2 million a year over 30 years.

Look for the poverty pimps to get some AEG/taxpayers tribute to keep this boondoggle moving onwards.

** The Daily News has given its endorsement to Congressman Howard Berman in the contentious 30th Congressional District jihad .

This week, Berman made some headline-grabbing additions to his list of endorsements when Sen. John McCain of Arizona and Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina announced their support, praising Berman's willingness to talk policy with Republicans such as them.That confirms what our editorial board already saw as Berman's most important quality: At a time when voters say they want their representatives in Washington to show more cooperation and less partisanship, Berman does this better than Sherman.

Got to wonder how Assemblyman Mike Gatto will take this editorial slight of his former boss?

**CD 13 City Councilman and 2013 Mayoral Candidate Eric Garcetti has shown his repeated ability to speak in generalities, but in his first major policy address as a mayoral candidate, these specifics regarding current Mayor Villar staffers is sure to garner attention.

Garcetti spoke in broad themes, and offered relatively little in the way of concrete proposals. He did, however, signal that he will distance himself from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, saying that he will force all of the mayor's department heads to reapply for their jobs.
"If they want to stick around, they'll have to prove they have what it takes to meet our city's urgent economic imperatives," Garcetti said.
That would be a break from past practice. Mayors have tended to keep some of their predecessor's top staffers.
