Mayor Sam discloses City of Los Angeles Building and Safety Department's "Notice to Comply Order" against the controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School

There is no hiding the fact of the close relationship between CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar (on the right in photo above) and controversial educator and charter school operator Marcos Aguilar (in native costume). Aguilar was a strong supporter of Councilman Huizar's reelection, galvanizing his school followers, to work on Councilman Huizar's behalf. But was that support predicated on past favors by the councilman, especially when it came to Zoning/Building and Safety issues?,
Academia Semillas del Pueblo Campus at Old El Sereno Library. Can you find the illegal playground?
Recently, we have disclose a letter to Councilman Huizar from business and community members, that highlighted parking and zoning concerns regarding the Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School locations that "bookend" the popular "Hecho En Mexico Dining Establishment" on Huntington Drive in El Sereno. These concerns have led to tension between the close neighbors which have included unfounded allegations and protests against the long establish dining location. But as the documentation below states, its the Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School, that has been operating illegally.

Academia Semillas del Pueblo illegally converted the parking lot at the Old El Sereno Library site, into a illegal playground, for the past few years and have been order by the Building and Safety Department to comply with this order or face "additional fines".

But despite this current "Notice to Comply Order", we must question why the illegal action by Academia, was overlooked for so long, even after business and community members stated in writing, their concerns to Councilman Huizar ( which was never responded to). Maybe there is an inconvenient truth (or smoking gun memo) that shows some sort of illegal accommodation between Academia Semillas del Pueblo Founder Marcos Aguilar and political allies such as the one pictured below?
