MIA Mayoral Candidate Gar-SOFT-ee touts Ex. President Obama Endorsement (while withholding Crime Stats?)

The stealth Re-election Campaign of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Gar-SOFT-ee, choreographs onwards as the Rhodes Scholar, turned Upward-seeking Politico touts the "Endorsement" of former President Barack "H" Obama, while continuing to DODGE direct interaction with mayoral challengers ..........., and scrutiny of his TRUE record of accomplishments (or lack of).
Notice NO mention of Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee's accomplishments in reducing Crime, Pension Obligations, Lawsuit Payouts or DWP Reform, by the ex. President.
** Blogger's Notes: We bring you the latest in the stealth, choreographed Re-election Campaign of the stage-managed Mayor Eric Gar-SOFT-ee as the Rhodes Scholar, turned Upward-seeking Politico, continues to replicate the 2009 Mayoral Re-election Charade of the now, California Gubernatorial (and former Failure Mayor) Antonio Villargovea. Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee, like the former Failure Mayor, is engaging in hypocritical, civic misconduct in DODGING candidate forums/debates opportunities city-wide, as he seeks to SOFT-pedal his supposed accomplishments to a growing cynical electorate. As evident in the latest, choreographed pronouncement, the Gar-SOFT-ee Campaign is timing the high-profile ex. President Barack "H" Obama Endorsement, to coincide with the arrival of Absentee Ballots, which will be the foundation for the support margin to guarantee a Second Term. BUT, we are also hearing rumors that TIMING is the POLITICAL MOTIVATION for delaying the publication of the latest Crime Stats that may reflect adversely on the Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee-styled (and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck) leadership in dealing with the rising Crime Rate ......., that is another reason (among a growing list of neglected issues) for the Upward-seeking Politico, continuing "lack of political fortitude" to stand and defend his Record-----Scott Johnson.
MISSING!! A Second Term-seeking Mayor who will not DEBATE the challengers.
** Will Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee attend the following Candidate Forum? We will be in attendance to report----S.J.

October Surprise!! FBI to REOPEN Hillary Email Investigation

In a MAJOR, 2016 Presidential Campaign News, embattled FBI Director James Comey announced via Letter to Congress, that the much-criticized Investigation into Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server (and its contents), has been formally REOPEN.
The now "Antonio Villargovea" on the Breaking News regarding the FBI's Reopening of Hillary Clinton's Email Investigation: "The Abuela Mentirosa can't eat away her Email Troubles".
** Blogger's Note: In an October Political Blockbuster/Surprise, embattled FBI Director James Comey has notified Congressional Leaders that the Nation's top Law Enforcement Agency has formally REOPEN its Investigation of Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton's Private Email Server (and its contents). Today's extraordinary announcement comes on the heals of the damaging Wikileaks Emails Dumps that outed President Barack "H" Obama's embellishment to the American Public regarding his knowledge of then, Secretary of State Clinton's Private Email Server ......., and a Clinton's Staffer Cheryl Mills's email which cites the "need to clean up" this controversy----Scott Johnson.

A Momentary Bloggin Episode in Deconstructing Factually-challenged Comments via Mayor Garcetti and the LA Times

With no apologies to the likes of Mayor Eric Garcetti and "The Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street (aka LA Times)", your bias, subjective attempts to misrepresent yesterday's Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's "Second Amendment Comment (and other verbal utterances)", cannot whitewash the 2008 Wife of Impeached President Bill Clinton's  "Robert F. Kennedy Assassination Comment" ......., and Joe Biden's "Shotguns and Beretta Joke" directed at, now President Barack Obama.
The "Local Democratic Machine Fishwrap of Record" and Mayor Eric Garcetti.
** Blogger's Note: We interrupt a Mayor Eric Garcetti-led delegation to the 2016 South of the Equator Olympics (and the LA Times reporting of), to bring our cyber-audience a "Bloggin Teachable Moment" on the pratfalls of engaging in factually-challenged, partisan presidential politics in the Age of the Internet.
Of course, after yesterday's substance-devoid, outrage over the Second Amendment Rights comments via the New York Billionaire, the Rhodes Scholar, turned multi-ethnic politico with national office aspirations, would be remiss if he did not join in the Main Stream Media-led (with the LA Time's aiding and abetting), context-lacking Pinata Party, targeting the Republican Nominee.
But as we document below, Mayor Garcetti and the LA Political Machine's "Fishwrap PR Contractor of Record", cannot gloss over the TRUTH of a "certain 2008 Democratic Candidate (and current 2016 Democrat Presidential Nominee), who cited the 1968 Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel Assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, in rebutting calls to drop out before the California Primary, against now President Barack Obama.
But more telling in outing the Double Standard of those who found insinuations of violence and malice, lurking between the syllables of Candidate Trump's remarks, is the video below of now Vice-President Joe Biden's "Shotguns and Beretta Joke" directed at his then, running mate Barack Obama.
In the Spirit of Objectively ........., and in educating those trapped in a bias, subjective mind set, we have posted all three videos for your open-minded review below----Scott Johnson.

TGIF Morning Brief on Betty's First Soulvine Tirade of 2014

LA Wave Newspaper Columnist Betty Pleasant and South LA Political Officials, are disappointed with Mayor Eric Garcetti for not bring home "Promise Funds", for their respective communities.
LA Wave Newspaper Columnist Betty Pleasant vents her Soulvine Outrage in the direction of Mayor Garcetti.
Mayor Garcetti absorbs the "Message of Promise" from Lameduck President Barack "H" Obama.

Memo to Mayor Eric Garcetti, you have a outrage constituent and some disappointed public officials in South LA.
As a loyal Prograssive, you travel to Washington D.C., for another act of income redistribution via President Barack "H" Obama's "Promise Funds", for five Collectivist Dependentcrat-leaning cities and what awaits you upon your return home? Four paragraphs of outrage via Betty's latest Soulvine (with thorns for Mayor Garcetti). We provide this excerpt of Betty's first 2014 tirade.
Pete Demetriou, of the CBS radio affiliate KNX 1070, announced Wednesday morning that five specific Los Angeles neighborhoods will be eligible to receive these new federal funds. Sit down because you are about to be shocked. These five neighborhoods are Pico-Union, Westlake, Hollywood, East Hollywood and Koreatown!!! What’s wrong with this picture?! Your Mayor Eric Garcetti is in the White House Thursday kicking off this Promise Zone thing and he’s expected to be back here in time to serve as grand marshal of CORE’s 29th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Kingdom Day Parade on Jan. 20. Now, I ask you, what’s wrong with that picture?! (lets remember that Betty was a "Sister for Wendy" in the recent mayoral election).

Stop the presses. Wait a minute. An angry city official has just cornered me and he has something to say about this outrage. Ninth District Councilman Curren Price said: “While I am always happy to see Los Angeles receive attention and additional federal dollars, it is very disappointing to see the city’s poorest communities excluded once again. The federal government’s “Promise Zone” designation was designed to saturate the nation’s highest concentration of poverty in the cities with more than one out of three households living below the poverty rate — a rate nearly 10 points higher than any other region in the city. And yet our community will not benefit from this investment of up to a half a billion dollars. As the person entrusted with representing the needs of South Los Angeles residents, I am compelled to express my disappointment with a program that has failed to include our community. I urge federal officials, as well as our mayor as he lobbies Washington for more funding — to reconsider their selection process now and moving forward. South Los Angeles residents have promise — we just need a chance.”

While Betty was keyboarding her outrage, the likes of CD 9 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Curren Price and former Watts Clowncilwoman, turned Congresswoman Janice Hahn, went on the record to the "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" (aka LA Obama Times), regarding their collective disappointment that areas of South LA they respectively represent, were left out of the proposed "Promise".

But in retrospect, the likes of Betty, Price and Hahn should focus their disappointment on the failure of Trillions of Redistributed Tax Dollars spent on a supposed, Five decades-long "War on Poverty" (or 50 year endeavor to grow government, but I digress) and its erosion of the Spirit of Self Empowerment, within the African-American Community. Thus Betty, maybe the "next chance" for community renewal should originate from within, not from another tried and fail Act of Redistribution from Washington D.C.

Bloggin Happy Hour Musings on the LA Political Machine for Thursday

Great Bloggin Happy Hour Musings on the local political machine for the eve of another TGIF. Join us as we tip the glass and enlighten you on these political musings that may find their way into someone's decaff morning coffee in the A.M. ; ) --- Scott Johnson..
** Bummer and major drivin burden or those this evening in a radius around the Studio City Enclave of George Clooney as President Barack "H" Obama comes trolling into the San Fernando Valley in search of millions in Limousine Liberal's disposable income. In honor of the President's first visit to the north side of the Santa Monica Mountains, the top earning scribe at the "Old Gray AARP Hag on Spring Street" Steve Lopez, has one word for Clooney and friends, who are willing to dispense $40,000+ in cash to mingle with a "forlorn hope" (blogger commentary), HYPOCRITES!

Yeah, pardon me for being such a party pooper, but isn't it a little offensive that 150 of L.A.'s high rollers would shell out $40,000 to kiss Clooney's ring and get maybe 10 seconds of face time with Obama?

Thus, a brief stray, contrary commentary from the "LA Obama Times".

**  It may be Thursday according to the Blackberry, but our normal "Another Soulvine Thursday" with commentary from the "William Randolph Hearst of South L.A. Journalism" Betty Pleasant, has gone two weeks without a Councilman Bernard Parks rant, but this will do for now.

YOU GO, GREUEL! — In a sign of growing momentum, City Controller Wendy Greuel announced last week the formation of her “Women for Wendy” Committee in her campaign to become the next mayor of Los Angeles. Comprised of female community leaders, grassroots activists, professionals, students and small business owners, the committee will also serve as an advisory group to the campaign for women’s issues. “With their help, we’ll get one step closer to breaking that glass ceiling and electing our city’s first woman mayor,” Greuel said.

Betty, what about "Sister Jan"?

** A Downtown LA happening, especially those that involves a former City Terrace youth-turned-Mayor Antonio Villar (formerly raigosa officially in 2013) musing and photo op, is kitty box liner without commentary (mixed with theater analogies) from Downtown News Editor and Scribe of Wit Jon Regardie. Regardie's latest is on the evolving Farmers Field site plans and its supposed "tight timeline". But pause with me for a moment when I ask, "why is the City of Los Angeles going to front hundreds of millions dollars in bonds to replace the Convention Center, when the plans call for Farmer Field and a new Convention Center to be one in the same, as in same building?

“The key to the success of the project is that it’s one building,” said Ron Turner, the director of Sports/Entertainment for Gensler, the architect of the proposed Farmers Field.

When is the next viewing of "Chinatown"?

** Lastly, nothing like ending the first edition of Bloggin Happy Hour Musings with this salient story from CD 14 via the Eastern Group Publications.

Responding to public outcry about public safety and quality of life issues related to alcohol sales, 40 alcoholic beverage control and Los Angeles police officers conducted inspections at nearly 200 alcohol beverage selling outlets in Boyle Heights and surrounding communities last week

Some stats from the story.

March, the Boyle Heights Coalition released preliminary findings of their then just completed alcohol-availability study. The data showed there were two felony DUIs with injuries, 349 alcohol related traffic violations, and a host of other crimes in Boyle Heights where alcohol played a factor during a six-month period in 2011. During the meeting organizers and residents discussed a moratorium on new alcohol sale licenses for off-site consumption.

But what connected non-profit and GRYD sub-contractor supported more corporate (7-eleven) beer and wine licenses in sensitive communities within the Hollenbeck Division?

Legacy LA supporter and Ramona Gardens Resident Advisory Council Member Liliana Martinez testifies (at 26:45 mark on video) on the behalf of 7-Eleven as noted in previous Mayor Sam post.
What did Legacy LA get in return for their support of 7-Eleven at this hearing?
...... hopefully not a renewal of their GRYD contract.

Your thoughts and drink responsible ..............

Walsh: Villaraigosa, Obama's DNC Anti-Occupier Fixer

John Walsh in action
John Walsh (not to be confused with the host of "America's Most Wanted), is a legendary, Hollywood based activist and master of political theater. For years, Walsh has been aligned with organizations that have fought rail transit, government waste, and other municipal misdeeds that he feels unjustly impacts the poor. Though Walsh is a member of the Hollywood Democratic Club, he has no love lost for local elected officials who are Democrats, notably Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Outraged that President Obama has chosen LA's Mayor as Chairman of the Democratic National Convention, Walsh is determined to expose to progressives all of the reasons why Villaraigosa must be dethroned as convention chair. What follows below is Walsh's latest screed, in all it's CAPS lock and bombast, but, a well reasoned analysis in my view.

OBAMA'S WORST NIGHTMARE IS THE NATIONWIDE OCCUPY MOVEMENT RAINING ON THE PRESIDENT'S CONVENTION PARADE IN CHARLOTTE THIS SUMMER.

WILL OCCUPIERS' HEADS BE CRACKED OPEN IN SEPTEMBER ON THE STREETS OF NORTH CAROLINA WHILE BARACK IS GIVING HIS NOMINATION ACCEPTANCE STREET? IF SO, SAY GOODBYE FOR SURE TO THIS STATE'S SWING ELECTORAL VOTES.

Friday Free for All: That's SO Jerry Edition

Antonio Villaraigosa came to Sacramento this week to call for the nuking of Proposition 13. Wednesday, the Mayor was dissed by Governor Brown who says he's not interested in making any changes to the holy grail of California politics.  "I will focus my attention on ensuring financial stability and making the state more efficient,"  Brown told the Associated Press.

Last year the City Clowncil voted to boycott doing business with any company based in Arizona in protest of the Grand Canyon state's successful immigration reform law. Since then, the City has failed to avoid to do business with Arizona companies.  The latest opportunity to give an economic whammy to our neighboring state exists in the form of a pending $90 million contract with Arizona based Honeywell, to upgrade computer systems at LA's sewage treatment plants. The computers are needed to replace out of date monitoring systems and help alleviate the odds of an ecological disaster. Councilman Ed Reyes plans to vote no on the contract and a losing bidder is trying to peg a second chance to the boycott being complied with.

Iowa Tea Party Leader Calls Obama on Carpet for Admin's "Terrorist" Comparisons

Iowa Tea Party founder Ryan Rhodes takes on President Obama over remarks Joe Biden made comparing the Tea Party to terrorists. The President denied that Biden made the remarks.

On August 1st, the liberal blog, Politico, reported however that Biden had accused Tea Party Republicans of having "acted like terrorists" during the recent budget debate.

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Thursday

Councilman Bill Rosendahl is awfully upset about all the traffic on the Westside caused by President Obama when he came to LA to raise some money for local Dems.  Rosendahl wants a report saying that Obama created a lot of frustration with his visit and he wants answers now!

Despite a competing offer from Santa Monica County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky says that Eli Broad is absolutely going to build his controversial multi-million dollar museum in Downtown LA.  But hold the phone! Broad says that a post by Zev's web writer for arts and culture (did you know that County Supervisors have web writers for arts and culture? Do they do cooking shows too?) is wrong; no decision has been made yet.

A blogger in Woodland Hills is peeved that Dennis Zine has foisted a Costco on them.  He should have called Joe B.

Ugly Betty Pleasant gets even uglier.  Her latest? She "OWNS" the Black community.

Cut and Paste Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Scene for Tuesday

The Telepromptive President of the United States (TOTUS) Barack H. Obama has lefted the City of Los Angeles.
This after flying into town in the forlorn hope of saving the political career of California's Junior Senator Barbara Boxer, who is going to face the hardest re-election challenge for her Senate seat.
No word if TOTUS met with Mayor Antonio Parkervillar during his brief money-raising venture to Los Angeles, but in the 9:00 AM KFI 640 Newscast, City Council President Eric Gartraitor, was heard pushing the Measure R "30 to 10" Proposal which would use an Federal Loan Guarantee, to compact the 30 years of transit projects paid for by Measure R tax money, into a 10 year time period. It seems from Gartraitor's comments, that he he some quality time with TOTUS via his Twitter, to discuss this scheme.
One interesting print media observation of TOTUS's brief Los Angeles visit, came via the Old Gray Hag on Spring Street aka LA Times "Top of the Ticket" Blog Writer Andrew Malcolm.
The good news for California Democrats is that their hero President Obama is returning to the Golden state this afternoon.
The bad news is once again they'll have to hand over big money to see or hear him.
Common Californians -- including the
increasing 12.6% of whom are now unemployed -- will be unable to hear the president address the economy or mounting fears over his healthcare bill and its costs because his announced events on this West Coast trip Monday are political and closed to all but donors.
These cynical comments about TOTUS, earned Malcolm some uberattention from the West LA Blogger known as the "Westside White Guy", who is known well for outing the journalistic doings of those minute number of Times writers, who dare go against the elitist, left of center leanings of the likes of Tim Rutten, Jim Rainey, George Skelton, Michael Hiltzik and others.
OTHER NEWS:
** Mayor Antonio Parkervillar will preempt CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar's "State of Boyle Heights" Speech, with his own today at 4:00 PM, on the "State of Los Angeles". One of the more newsworthy elements of his telepromptive, ahh, speech, will be the number of future layoffs that he will propose. Hint? Think triple digits..... and by the way, will LAUSD School Board President Monica Garcia be leading the cheering section?
** Memo to current political office holders. Your chance to claim unemployment when you get defeated in your next election cycle, is being closed with SB 1211, authored by State Senators Gloria Romero and Bob Dutton.
** Ron Kaye has the details on the workings of the "Clean Sweep Campaign", which is an endeavor of a "diverse group of Los Angeles community activists" ( ** with no apologies to the myopic "WWG"), to bring reforms to 200 Spring Street, with like-minded candidates for City Council. Here is the platform, which is still a work in progress.
LA CLEAN SWEEP PLATFORM
1. CLEAN UP CITY HALL -- We need a change of leadership. The failure of our leaders is clear to everyone, We need tough penalties and enforcement of ethics law violations and immediate and full disclosure of campaign contributions and interests even as new leaders develop reforms, including clean money campaign financing that break the power of special interests. The Department of Water and Power Commission, Community Redevelopment Agency and other commissions must have independence free of political control. All city agencies, task forces and Council committees must have representatives appointed by Neighborhood Councils. Transparency, openness, public access to all documents must be enacted under an open access law.
2. FIX THE BUDGET -- Spending must be brought under control for the benefit of the city's 4 million residents and hundreds of thousands of businesses. Salaries of city officials must be reduced along with Council and mayoral staffing, slush funds and office holder accounts eliminated. Adjustments must be made to the employee wage and pension system. Tax, rate and fee policies must be restructured to create a healthy economic environment.
3. FOCUS ON CORE SERVICES -- The focus of city government must be on basic services that benefit the whole community, not as a jobs and patronage programs. Protection of police and fire services and infrastructure. Parks, libraries, street maintenance, integrated planning to preserve neighborhood health, enforcement of building codes and fair share of city services are paramount. Services provided by city staff must be cost-effective with those of the private sector.
4. POWER SHARING -- Elect City Council members who put the interests of the whole city ahead of any special interest. Empower Neighborhood Councils to make the first decisions on all local development issues. Create a commission to develop a plan for a borough system of government. Establish that a key function of city government is to encourage public participation and treat all people with respect and courtesy.
Wonder how Mayor Parkervillar and the current City Council, will comment about these steps to clean up their ethical transgressions?
** BTW, that "three month" DWP rate increase approved by the shady actions of City Council President Eric Gartraitor?? Haha, it is looking like the DWP Commission punked the ratepayers again.
** Ooooppps!! I almost forgot to mention this. On the subject of Hahahahaha, wonder how that press event on the south side of City Hall is going, regarding the "total recall" of one Mayor Antonio Parkervillar?
** 11:00 AM update on the South Lawn proceedings via the Daily News.
A handful of former candidates and grassroots activists launched a recall drive today against Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Former mayoral candidates Walter Moore and Phil Jennerjahn and David Hernandez,, along with former City Council candidate Augusto Bisani are among the proponents of the effort.
Aides to Villaraigosa said he would have no comment
Even Deputy Mayor for Spin, Matt Szabo, knows when no words are warranted.

A rare self-reflective moment from "TOTUS" ??

Or should we call this a "O duh ma" moment ??

May 14 (Bloomberg) -- President Barack Obama, calling current deficit spending “unsustainable,” warned of skyrocketing interest rates for consumers if the U.S. continues to finance government by borrowing from other countries.

“We can’t keep on just borrowing from China,” Obama said at a town-hall meeting in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, outside Albuquerque. “We have to pay interest on that debt, and that means we are mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt.”

Holders of U.S. debt will eventually “get tired” of buying it, causing interest rates on everything from auto loans to home mortgages to increase, Obama said. “It will have a dampening effect on our economy.”

Duh!!............ , runaway printing of paper money has its cost.

Obama Teleprompter Fail

Okay I know it's now illegal to make fun of the President and that it really annoys some of that use to do it for the other guy but dear one has added another funny to YouTube.  Does it matter? Nope but when the guy was built up as "the one" with precious little childrens singing to him; this kind of stuff just points out: FAIL!

By the way still no word on what was going on with Obama's plane buzzing NYC but they might release a photo or two. So much for transparency.

Swine Flu Report

http://blogs.nature.com/news/thegreatbeyond/pig.JPGPhil Jennerjahn and Zuma Dogg support taco trucks but that's not enough to help them in Mexico City.  Officials have closed down the popular wagons in the Mexican capitol as one method of halting the spread of swine flu.  Another potential victim of the flu: pro-illegal immigration rallies planned for today.

The flu has had an impact on the Obama Administration following the President's visit to Mexico.  A White House staffer who traveled with the President as well as his family have contracted swine flu.  Additionally, Gateway Pundit reports that the White House may have been briefed about the flu outbreak in Mexico a full two weeks before an official announcement came from the World Health Organization, which brought the illness the current round of media attention it's received.

Political correctness once again trumps health concerns at the border.  Border crossing officers would like to wear face masks to avoid catching the flu but Obama Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano has nixed the request because of concerns that it may offend some folks

In Honor of Mack and Jerry Reed

Mack remarked about how Twitter is the modern day version of CB radio, which made me wonder what is the contemporary equivalent to the trucker of the 70s? There's a great subtext of the heavy hand of government, much of which was unyoked by Reagan and Clinton only to be rekindled under GW Bush and accelerated by Obama.

Where is Jerry Reed when we need him now?

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

Mayor Villaraigosa told the City's public employee unions something they probably didn't want to hear: the City will need to ask for concessions to avoid layoffs.  The Mayor's plan to call for furloughs from police officers is receiving criticism from some quarters and raising concerns that public safety could be compromised.

LA's multi-million dollar arts high school Downtown is turning out to be a major boondoggle.  Starting off people driving on the 101 and asking "What is it" in reference to the school that looks like a water park to some top arts schools principals from across the country saying "Thanks but to no thanks" to helming a school in LA, the school is getting off to a shaky start. Now, everyone from charter school advocates to LA rainmaker Eli "Yoda" Broad are calling for the campus to be run independently of LAUSD but LAUSD Superintendent Ray Cortines and Board President Monica Garcia are saying no way.

This is just scary: Councilmember Dennis Zine dressed up as a woman for charity, as did Skid Row blogger Don Garza.  This wasn't the first time that the former motorcycle cop dressed up in a way that men less comfortable with their sexuality wouldn't.  So who was the uglier woman, Denise Zine or Donna Garza? You decide.

Maybe he should have asked Arnold Schwarzenegger but President Obama made the mistake of referring to the Austrian language.  The trouble is there is no "Austrian" language.  Most folks in the Governor's home country speak German or a few other languages.  Honestly anyone could make the same mistake and it's no big whoop Obama gaffed again, but  as NewsBusers.org opined had President Bush (and again you all know I was not a supporter of GWB) made the same mistake all the newspapers and late night shows would be all over over him.  We're just keeping things fair here.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

Mayor Villaraigosa broached the issue of privatizing the Los Angeles Zoo and the idea is gaining traction.  The Daily News agrees it's something that should be looked at.  Ultimately a zoo is a theme park or at best an educational instutition.  Neither is the job of municipal government.  Therefore the zoo should be turned over to Disney or perhaps the World Wildlife Fun to run. The next step would be to send large animals to preserves and replace those exihibits with virtual ones that can just as easily educate as penning up animals where they don't belong and don't prosper.  Los Angeles could actually set the pace for the 21st century zoo.

Ron Kaye marks the one year anniversary of his termination as editor of the Los Angeles Daily News.  "I got no regrets," Kaye says as after 365 days in his new role of blogger and agent provacateur.

So much for President Barack Obama's claims to be a man of the people.  Like most Democrats and Republicans he's all about the connected.  His recent town hall meeting in Los Angeles was supposed to be open to the people, instead, as the Daily News reports, most of the tickets went to Democratic elected officials, their staffs and major party fat cats.  Spin that one Jim Alger!

Blogger Cindy Lu at Loteria Chicana made her first ever batch of frijoles olla. Response from her mother: “Wow. Ya te puedes casar.” Of course that means that Cindy's mom is satisfied Cindy is now ready to get married.  Moms are the same in any culture; can't we all just get along?

LA Weekly notes that L.A. Superior Court Judge Peter Lichtman has ordered a Catholic religious order to make hundreds of personnel files public. The judge's order is part of a $28 million settlement between alleged victims of clergy sexual abuse and the Franciscans. The lawsuit stems from allegations against Franciscan priests who are accused of sexually abusing dozens of boys and girls going back to the 1950s.

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is actualy doing a photo op that doesn't have to do with nightclubs, turning off the lights or dancing with cartoon charactersThe Mayor will speak about the city budget at an appearance before several neighborhood councils and other community organizations Monday evening in West Los Angeles.

By the way does this conflict with this?

The City of Los Angeles spent nearly 40 years trying to make an airport work in Palmdale and could not do it.  So it makes sense to let a smaller, more efficient city take a shot at it. The City of Palmdale has voted to create an airport commission and department to manage and get Palmdale Regional Airport finally up and running.

Would someone actually run against Council Member Benard Parks as he perhaps seeks his third and final term in 2011? Possibly Assembly Speaker Karen Bass according to one blogger.

In the meantime Parks is pushing a city law, similar to a Los Angeles County measure, that would place civil penalties on the parents of under age graffiti criminals.  Good idea.

Blogger Flap, the ultra-right wing dentist, posted up an item that featured a Twitter tweet supposedly posted by Meghan McCain calling Rush Limbaugh fat.  I was about to call Ms. McCain to task for being a hypocrite as I had defended her when blowtard "commentator" Laura Ingraham could only challenge McCain's calls for a more big tent Republican party by referring to her weight.  However, the leading Republican sadist has now come out and admitted that the tweet is a hoax, under the guise of parody.  Good going Flap.  Anyone who has this man's fingers in their mouth needs to question their sanity.

Franklin Avenue reports bad news for both Walter Moore and Rick Dees.  Movin 93.9, which flipped from country to adult contemporary and brought Dees on board three years ago, is going Spanish language.  Oops.
