Morning Brief on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

What stories the walls of the new Hollenbeck Police Station could tell, if they could speak.

Great Excessive Heat Warning Tuesday to all as we remind our cyber audience, that proper hydration is important on this day. But before we move onto the present political news of the day, pause with us as we observed a bloggin anniversary.
As members of the surrounding community gather at the Hollenbeck Police Station for tonight's National Night Out festivities, who among the many local activists will remember what happen three years ago when CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar saw a certain ex. staffer (there are many) among the masses. We cut and paste these comments on what happens next
** Everyone saw Jose lose it. He was up on stage when he heard Henry Casas was in the audience and starting questioning everyone about why Henry was there. He stormed up to that young girl, put is hands in her face-so close I was just waiting for him to strike her and just starting screaming at her. Everyone just stood there scared. It was ugly, he stormed off, she looked so terrified I thought she was going to cry.August 06, 2009 12:07 AM

..... and this comment from a "person in blue"

** Hey I'm an officer with LAPD and I was there. We did see the incident but we had community folks come up to us later and tell us what happen. They were very upset, unfortunately no one on staff said anything when asked about it. To tell you the truth it makes me sick that he could get away with that. It might have to do with his sister-in-law working at the station. What we did see and what is all the talk at the station was what Huizar's office did to there former Chief Henry Casas. As soon as he got to the event they sent a staff person to follow him around. It was funny to watch. I mean they were on him like white on rice. Everyone of us noticed it and even made joke to Henry about Huizar having lo-jack on him. Henry if you read this stuff you are welcome in Hollenbeck any time. Jose, I never liked you after your anti cop statements at the Ramon Gardens and after Henry left your office your stock went down even lower with us but to scare the crap out of one your young female staff is just the last straw. Hope to god that you never mess up and break the law infront of me because I don't care what management tells me to do, I would take you down hard.August 06, 2009 9:33 AM.

Three years later, what will happen tonight on a hot evening? Be there to see.

** OTHER NEWS:

** We are sure the air conditioning will be on in the Ron Denton Room at LAPD Headquarters tonight as the two finalists for the Office of Los Angeles County District Attorney face off in their first debate. In recent financial disclosures, Alan Jackson had a surprising lead over Jackie Lacey in fundraising.

** Lets call for the stinking tote on the final cost of the Red Rabble (Occupy LA in pregressive terms) illegal squatting on City Hall green space. ............ and the total is $4.3 Million Dollars!! Meanwhile, the City Clowncil Central Committee wants Neighborhood Councils to pay for their own elections. In the words of Mayor Antonio Villar "Democracy is Messy" .... and stinks on occasions.

** Ron Kaye has some blunt words for the multiple political personas of current Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield. "Two-face Bob" is the latest Sacramento politico to look south to 200 Spring Street, in the hope of rising his political standard of living.

** BREAKING NEWS!! Mexico 3, Japan 1. Mexico advances to Men's Soccer Gold Medal match, stay clear of Pacific Ave. in Huntington Park.

Bloggin Noontime Munchies on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Friday

Two well-known politicos enjoying some lunch time King Tacos.
Great TGIF Lunch Hour to all as we near the end of another work week and cruise into the weekend. Here are some tasty lunch time bloggin political missives to ward away the post noontime political brain drain.
CD 9 City Council Candidate David Roberts
Downtown News Editor and Scribe of Wit Jon Regardie has the exclusive on the latest candidate seeking to replace City Councilwoman Jan Perry. David Roberts who was Councilwoman Pery's appointee to the 2012 City Redistricting Commission, has taken out papers to join the likes of Assemblyman Mike Davis, former CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Chief of Staff Ana Cubas and LAPD Deputy Chief Terry Hata in seeking to replace the termed out, now Mayoral Candidate Perry.
In remarks to Regardie, Roberts stated ........
“I have a passion and a connection to South Los Angeles that goes back 20 years,” Roberts said. “I know I can capitalize on the progress made in the last 10 to 12 years by Jan Perry to bring more revitalization and job opportunities and a renewed sense of neighborhood pride and identification.”

Roberts, who's work to protect the Downtown sections of CD 9, fell victim to behind close doors dealings, can be seen in this video of a Redistricting Commission hearing in Koreatown.

** OTHER BRIEFS:

** Most of the establishment media was fixated on last night's Art Walk theatrics between Occupy LA protesters and LAPD which resulted in twenty arrests and injuries to four LAPD officers. While this labor/liberal dominated City Council continues to tolerate this "messy exercise in democracy", law-abiding neighborhood councils (for most part) are being force to use $5,000 of their yearly allocation to pay for their own elections. Can you say misplace priorities?

** Former City of San Fernando Mayor and current State Senator Kevin De Leon Staffer Steve Veres has been named President of the Los Angeles Community College District's Board of Trustees. Trustee Tina Parks was named Vice-President.

We will have more Southwest Museum news on Monday.

Mario Brito purged from the Occupy Los Angeles Movement?

** TGIF Happy Hour Update: The cost associated with Mario Brito's Occupy LA theatrics rose to $4.7 Million Dollars via the LA Times this P.M.---Scott Johnson.
Brothers and Sisters blog check! Its time for a people's bloggin post on the demise of former Occupy LA front person and Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council member Mario Brito. Many will remember Brito as the most visible of the Occupy LA leaders who's legacy was leaving behind a poop-laden brownfield and a million dollar-plus tab for LAPD overtime. But as the video discloses, Brito's legacy (or dubious one) is someone who was not afraid to get in someone face and that did not go ever well with many in the Occupy Movement as highlighted by the."Mario Brito Union Thug" chant.
In this next video, Brito is nearly assaulted and force to exit Pershing Square via the corner of 5th and Grand with score of  Occupy LA agitators on his tail. And what was the last chant via the "people's mike" about Brito having posed as a Occupy LA leader. Leave no doubt, Occupy LA knows how to conduct a purging when needed. But don't feel bad for Mario for his brothers and sisters at SEIU will take care of their comrade.

Walsh: Villaraigosa, Obama's DNC Anti-Occupier Fixer

John Walsh in action
John Walsh (not to be confused with the host of "America's Most Wanted), is a legendary, Hollywood based activist and master of political theater. For years, Walsh has been aligned with organizations that have fought rail transit, government waste, and other municipal misdeeds that he feels unjustly impacts the poor. Though Walsh is a member of the Hollywood Democratic Club, he has no love lost for local elected officials who are Democrats, notably Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Outraged that President Obama has chosen LA's Mayor as Chairman of the Democratic National Convention, Walsh is determined to expose to progressives all of the reasons why Villaraigosa must be dethroned as convention chair. What follows below is Walsh's latest screed, in all it's CAPS lock and bombast, but, a well reasoned analysis in my view.

OBAMA'S WORST NIGHTMARE IS THE NATIONWIDE OCCUPY MOVEMENT RAINING ON THE PRESIDENT'S CONVENTION PARADE IN CHARLOTTE THIS SUMMER.

WILL OCCUPIERS' HEADS BE CRACKED OPEN IN SEPTEMBER ON THE STREETS OF NORTH CAROLINA WHILE BARACK IS GIVING HIS NOMINATION ACCEPTANCE STREET? IF SO, SAY GOODBYE FOR SURE TO THIS STATE'S SWING ELECTORAL VOTES.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Collectivist Machine for May Day

The former Tony Villar agitating for communist inclusion in Chicano Studies at UCLA.
The Billy Bragg revision version of the "International".
Happy red dawn brothers and sisters in the Los Angeles Collectivist.
Many in what is to become part of the Princeton Graduate Dear Charro Councilman Jose Huizar's "Center of Political Doing".in Downtown LA, are being treated to the fringes of the 99% this morning
From the traditional May Day participants such as the Revolutionary Workers Party to now the George Soros/SEIU/Van Jones directed Occupy Movement, the aggrieve working class/wards of the government, are mulling about the various downtown byways.
With Occupy LA a costly poop movement memory, the traffic of commerce that provides the tax revenue for the likes of Mayor Antonio Villar to jet about in search of his next political incarnation, will be affected throughout the day.
** In honor of the "International Day of the LA Worker", the MTA Board committed an act of heresy against the collectivist by voting to give a Japanese firm a $890 Million dollar contract for rail cars.
** The "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" is reporting that various activists are banding together to prevent anymore cuts to the Recreation and Parks Budget. Whacked to the tune of $40 Million dollars over the last our years, the likes of Councilman Eric Garcetti and Tom LaBonge are calling for more "Public/Private Partnerships" (ie. giveaway of park space to connected non-profits). Face with $4 Million more in cuts in the proposed 2012/2013 Budget, the innovated CLASS Park Anti-Gang Program may be targeted for closure. The simple and blunt solution here would be to take $4-8 Million dollars from the Mayor's GRYD Program and give it to Rec.and Parks, since some GRYD sub-contractors have made a "legacy of pirating" Rec and Parks programming into their prevention programs.
** Lastly, what would May Day be without a "Bloggin Denouncement" of those who act against the best interest of the 46th Assembly District Collective?
Democratic Political Consultant John Shallman
46th Assembly District Candidate Brian Johnson.
What major enemy of working brothers and sisters and public indoctrination/education  is a big donor to "Ed Voice"? ** We have speculated that John Shallman is the consultant to this IE. We have ask him to comment on this to no avail.

Vote Brian Johnson for Assembly 2012, a Valley Alliance
to Prepare Our Children for Tomorrow's Workforce, A Coalition of
Ed Voice IE Committee, Valley Parents, Educators and Business Leaders,
Ed Voice Independent Expenditure Committee, to support Brian Johnson's candidacy for AD 46,
“EdVoice Independent Expenditure Committee” on February 14. State records show that last year the EdVoice independent expenditure committee raised a total of $965,421 from a roster of well-heeled donors, including $94,400 each from Broad; Gap chairman Donald FisherCarrie Walton Penner, a granddaughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton
......and what would be the future cost to Brian Johnson and Democratic Consultant John Shallman if they were connected in anyway to Wal Mart money? Denouncement!

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

Who will replace now Congresswoman Janice Hahn in CD 15?
Great election morning to all in CD 15 as today heads towards the mid-day mark. A least 10-20% of the register voters will have the chance to send a resounding message to the operatives of the City of Los Angeles Political Machine by electing LAPD Senior Lead Officer Joe Buscaino to City Council. In actuality, the absentee ballots stored in boxes at the City Clerk may speak to that if they could, but rest assure that Team Buscaino and challenger Assemblyman Warren Furutani with his Mayor Villar/Labor allies will gather up all the register voters they can muster up to 7:59 P.M. Once the polls close, Team Buscaino will gather at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to await the election results which we will live blog here at Mayor Sam. ** Watch for results of absentees at about 8:45 P.M. If they break 60-40% for Buscaino, then say hello Councilman Buscaino.
** One contentious issue that the new CD 15 office holder will have to deal with is the LAPD policy on impounds of vehicles driven by non-license drivers. The Los Angeles Police Commission will meet this evening in Northridge and expect a big crowd thanks to the likes of KFI's Johns and Ken. If one cares, take the time to read the letter of Dan Rosenberg to Mayor Antonio Villar. Rosenberg lost his 25 year old son to an unlicensed driver and have not received any response from the Mayor's office.
** The City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department have set up a website to showcase the three options to replace the toxic brownfields creative by Occupy LA. at City Hall. The irony here is that the landscaping cost of either option will include paying the gardeners caretakers represented by SEIU 721, who were a big supporter of Occupy LA.
** Nice tidbit from Simone Wilson aka "The Snarky One" at the LA Weekly on the Assembly voting record of CD 9 City Council aspirant Assemblyman Mike Davis. It seems that Assemblyman Davis will fit right in to the horseshoe as he only voted "no" 0.01% of the time in Sacramento.

Mid-Day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Friday

"Berman vs. Sherman (with two Republicans) in the 30th CD, Round One".
Its on!
The much anticipated political battle between Congressman Howard "of the Berman-Waxman Machine" Berman and Congressman Brad "Assemblyman Mike Gatto's Political Papi" Sherman, got underway with the first dialog/debate among the two congressman who would like to retain their government salary and two republicans Shelly Smith and Mark Reed, who seek to channel "David" in the battle with the democrat "Goliaths".
As hundreds looked on in Woodland Hills, Congressman Sherman wasted no time in morphing into the Parke Skelton crafted progressive counter to the pragmatic Berman. Meanwhile among the republicans, Reed was not afraid to draw the audience ire with his stance on illegal immigrants using public hospitals and extending unemployment benefits. Reed who ran against Sherman in the previous election cycle, could make the runoff if he is able to coalesce the support of the register republicans in the democratic-leaning district. but as illustrated in the print coverage above, the spotlight is on Jewish democrats.
Other news:
** City Attorney Carmen Trutanich staff are having some Sixth Amendment issues in its efforts to prosecute the member of the Flea Party/Red Rabble former occupiers of the now brownfields of City Hall.
** On the topics of the City Hall Brownfields, Recreation and Parks General Manager Jon Kirk Mukri and his staff will attend the Downtown LA Neighborhood Council meeting on Tuesday, January 10 to discuss options for revitalizing the "Red Rabble Watseland".
** The grass-roots CD 15 campaign juggernaut of San Pedro Native Son and LAPD Senior Lead Officer Joe Buscaino, continues to roll on and pick up support with the Daily Breeze Newspaper the latest to endorse the first time political aspirant.
** Lastly, as Buscaino's quest to represent CD 15 moves forward, his fellow "rank and file officers" are facing a more dangerous street, thanks to the California Prison Realignment that his challenger Assembly Warren Furutani supported. Thousands of "low level, non violent, non-revokeable parolees" are being release onto the streets and despite the spin from the LAPD brass, crime and attacks on peace officers will surely rise.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

KABC Talk Radio Host John Phillips.
Former KABC 790 AM Newsman Rob Marinko.
Great post Christmas Monday to you as this blogger and others of the "Clipper Nation" celebrate our first victory on the way to the playoffs in 2012. Celebrating has its price as I miss the first morning of the holiday reunion of John "The Sports Princess" Phillips and Newsman Rob Marinko at KABC 790 AM this week during the morning drive (5-9 AM). While most within the local political community are taking vacation time or operating on cruise control, there is news for public consumption as we note below.
** City officials executed a classic "Friday before Christmas Bad News Dump" by disclosing the initial cost of police resources use for the "Flea Party Bug Out" at $1.7 Million dollars (the cost of restoring the City Hall brownfields is still outstanding which should push this total above $2 Million). The disclosure of the higher than expected cost, prompted City Controller Candidate Dennis Zine to call upon the City Attorney to seek reinburstment from SEIU, correction the Red Rabble of Occupy LA. The Daily News puts the total at $2.35 Million.
** We understand that former Mayoral Candidate Walter Moore was on air with John Phillips this morning discussing the stupid and potentially deadly decision to change impounding rules for those caught caught driving without a valid license. Once again the race pandering is more important than public safety and puts the city at risk to legal repercussions.
** Lastly, the Police Protective League is in need of some outside policing of their elections as Daily News Rick Orlov reports.

"The Villar and Beck Self-Congratulation Tour" date with reality in El Sereno

LAPD Chief Charlie beck with his boss Mayor Antonio Villar. In Mayor Villar's words. the "LAPD Golden Hour" in executing the "Flea Party Bug Out", had almost tragic consequences in El Sereno due to the absence of LAPD resources.
Tuesday night stolen car suspect on foot in El Sereno after crashing stolen vehicle at the end of chase televised on KCAL. According to sources, at the time of terminus of chase in El Sereno, not one LAPD car was on patrol in the Hollenbeck Station area. In the Hollywood Station area, one car was on call to maintain law and order. This because patrol resources were diverted to Downtown LA to execute the "Flea Party Bug Out".
As we enter Day Two of the Mayor Antonio Villar and Chief Charlie Beck "Self-Congratulations Tour" regarding the "Flea Party Bug Out", the self back-slapping is giving way to the realities of questionable decision making within City Hall.
As city crews hauled away 30 tons of trash from the newly polluted brownfields of City Hall, it is clear in sight and smell that Occupy LA "was a messy excerment exercise in first amendment crap-talking by a bunch of pissed off derelicts", to paraphrase Mayor Villar.

Notes from the "Flea Party Bug Out" via the LAPD

Los Angeles Sanitation Worker Gino Ramirez cleaning up after the Flea Party/Red Rabble Bug Out. Photo via the L.A. Times.
Mayor Antonio (Pollo?)Villar and LAPD Chief Charlie Beck at 3:25 A.M. Press Conference on South Lawn. Media and LAPD/Mayor Villar butted heads over restrictions on the coverage regarding the removal of the Flea Party, as reported by Ron Kaye and the LA Weekly.
Thoughts:
The Los Angeles edition of Goerge Soros/SEIU/Van Jones "Occupy and incite Class Warfare Crusade", met it's demise tn the pre-dawn hours. What once was lush green space around 200 Spring Street is now a barren, littered wasteland of debris from the rabble that once had an open invitation to stay as long as they wish. But as on-site conditions worsen and political slap back mounted, Mayor Villar was politically boxed into a no-win corner and gave the LAPD permission to clean out the encampment. ** What is needed now is an open and transparent audit on the cost of this progressive rabble and suggestions how the city can recoup the financial outlays of this Free Speech campout. **Afternoon Update: CD 12 City Councilman Mitch Englander has answered the challenge.
The numbers:
200 292 arrests with bail set for most at $5,000.
1400 LAPD officers deployed.
** Financial costs will come later with ensuing debate.
Winners:
Professionalism of the Rank & File LAPD.
Any 2013 mayoral candidate outside of City Hall (Zev, Kevin or Rick) who can highlight the hypocrisy of city resources being utilize for this debacle.

Mayor Sam "clickety clicks".

SEIU's Mike Garcia.
Hands on leadership of LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.
Social Media.
Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council Member and Occupy LA Red Rabble Organizer Mario Brito who's cooperation with LAPD reduce the potential for violence during last night Flea Party Bug Out.
Losers:
City Council President Eric Garcetti's "stay as long as you wish pledge".
City Council Occupy LA Resolution.
** Fee Waivers, the cost of Occupy LA's "fee waiver" may set a record that would make El Grito's financial favors look like a family picnic for four.

"Porta Potty usage" according to sanitation official.
Via KFI's Shannon Farron
Mayor Antonio (Pollo)Villar who's decision making was predicated by the wishes of SEIU, County Labor Ferderation and national political aspirations.
"LA Occupy with their leftist bias Times".
The now un-occupy informer section of the online LA Weekly.
President Obama.

LA Weekly: "L.A. Occupiers Warn That Police Sweep Is Imminent"

Sunday Night Gathering of the Occupying Red Rabble. Tonight may be the final General Assembly.
The LA Weekly and KCAL is reporting with good background, that tonight is the grand finale for Occupy LA. The odds get better that brown, dirty ground will be omnipresent tomorrow around City Hall, considering that Mayor Antonio Villar used the "child safety excuse", as the basis of his reasoning for wanting an end to this "deconstructive form of expression".
We will utilize this post to relay up to date information as the night progresses.
** KCAL is covering a chase that ended in a crash near Lowell (Farnsworth) and Allen in Eastern El Sereno. Citizens on the ground report that LAPD was no where to be seen on the ground. This could be because resources have been diverted to a possible action in Downtown L.A. KCAL and LASD is reporting that their resources are on scene with LAPD en route--- Scott Johnson at 8:55 P.M. ** Follow up, it took LAPD a hour to show up at chase terminus in El Sereno.
** Ron Kaye is reporting that LAPD is strictly stage managing media coverage of their takedown of Occupy LA.
** LAPD mobilizing at Dodger Stadium, sources told this blogger that tonight would be the end game.
** LAPD has gone to Tactical Alert. MTA buses bring police to City Hall.
** LAPD dealing with fireworks, streets are block off, this should be a long process as the crowd has swollen throughout the day. Fox TV is reporting that some protesters are armed with "slingshots and marbles".
** The "Westside White Guy" made his way east of the 405 to log field reports on tonight's events. Gunning for another Pulitzer. ** Update: "WWG " back on the westside of "405 Curtain"* 10:25 update: Out of power, back at home base. On the way, the traffic reporter on KNX forced a laugh, saying deadpan that there was some sort of police activity at 1st and Main due to "a large demonstration." Duh. On TV, KCAL's chopper pilot just said he's under an agreement with LAPD not to give tactical details, but called the staging activity at Dodger Stadium the largest LAPD mobilization he has ever seen.
Link here for coverage from the Occupy LA Times.
** Fox News interviewing LAPD "Comm. Smith" reports "peaceful arrests" but alot of strangers in the crowd.
** This is getting boring ....which is the game plan of LAPD to wait out the Red Rabble. (11:55 P.M.)
** LAPD has enter the South Lawn. People are being arrested and taken to Frank McCourt's parking lot at Dodger Stadium. Situation is very fluid.
** Chief Beck is out and about leading the operation, he just gave the Flea Party another 10 minutes to vacate.
** What happens here on is will determine whether Chief Beck gets a second term.

Like-minded radicals equates with continuing Occupy L.A. Standoff

Blogger's notes: As of 10 A.M., Occupy LA still stands (and seeking legal protection) after some overnight theatrics that resulted in four arrests and Mayor Villar has taken to the official Tahoe in pursuit of media outlets that will give him air time to discuss his vague deadline in an grass less lot at City Hall. Make no doubt that Mayor Villar's support of the grievances of the Occupy Movement and more important, respect for the behind the scenes backers (County Labor Federation, SEIU), are the reasons that LAPD has been held back from enforcing the law. But another reason for Mayor Villar's dovish behavior in the Occupy LA farce, can be found in his radical youth and the similarities with Occupy LA Red Rabble Organizer Mario Brito as we note below. Meanwhile, the damage and cost piles on---Scott Johnson.                                     .
Lincon Heights Neighborhood Council Member and Occupy L.A. Red Rabble Organizer Mario Brito, shares the same "radical DNA" as a certain campus organizer below
City Terrace native Tony Villar knows something about occupying public buildings in the pursuit of a radical political agenda. Villar would go on to change his name and persona in the pursuit of political office.

Last couple hours of Occupy LA

The "Red Rabble" gathers one last time on the South Steps of City Hall.
** Its 12:10 A.M. and the "Red Rabble" has blew off Mayor Villar's deadline.
Its 10 P.M. and the party continues at the last night gathering of extended "brothers and sisters" at Occupy L.A. Information from the various on-site news agencies, twitter feeds from Occupy L.A., politico communiques and law enforcement officials give a confusing picture on what will happen when the "collective bong" goes out at midnight (more likely burn on until the police extinguish).
The Occupy L.A. Twitter stream reports that General Services Police will close the park at Midnight and start arrests (city parks are under the jurisdiction of GSP). Meanwhile as I type, the "Red Rabble is in General Assembly with estimates of nearly a thousand people in attendance. Mayor Antonio Villar announced earlier that the "Red Rabble" would have ample time to pack and move on to the next George Soros/SEIU/Van Jones production

Neon Tommy: "Occupy L.A. Plans to Resist Monday Eviction"

Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council Member and Occupy LA Red Rabble Organizer Mario Brito (center) defending Occupy LA's cooperation with the LAPD to an anti-LAPD KPFK Pacifica Radio Commentator (right). That cooperation with LAPD and the end of Occupy LA should come in the pre-dawn hours on Monday.
No surprise here at the report from the USC Annenberg School of Journalism and Communication's "Neon Tommy" Online Publication, that the "Red Rabble" occupying City Hall park space, will symbolically resist LAPD's efforts to remove them after tonight's 12:01 A.M. deadline. After all, what is a life protesting the "one percent" if you never get arrested?
As we near the last noon hour on Sunday for Occupy LA, Neon Tommy reported that various sub-groups within the Occupy LA collective, were planning diverse methods of resisting LAPD when removal time come tomorrow
In the smaller sessions, some said they would lock arms to resist police and others said they would sit on the ground and refuse orders to move. The so-called Raid Committee discussed plans for all those who avoid getting arrested to gather less than a mile away at Union Station. Not everyone camped at at City Hall plans to get arrested. "We're going to challenge them. We have the right to assemble. At the very minimum we deserve a 30-day eviction notice," Chris Legal Sr., 55-year-old from Detroit told Neon Tommy. "If the police chief says leave, I will obey the law. But I will also ask a judge as soon as possible to invalidate his actions."
Many others among the 500 or so protesters camped out in the chilly downtown site were more adamant about staying. An artist who called himself Sirblu said he'll refuse to leave: "We're going to stand in solidarity. This is our First Amendment right.".

Meanwhile, across the street at the "Old Gray Hag on Spring Street", Civil Rights Observers Connie Rice and Attorney Carol Sobel have some reservations about Mayor Antonio Villar's deadline. From Connie Rice,
The deadline “precipitated a crisis for no real emergency,” said veteran L.A. civil rights attorney Connie Rice. ...... and from the ACLU Attorney Carol Sobel, Police “have been restrained up until now but it's not over,” said civil rights attorney Carol Sobel. But the deadline “made people dig in their heels. There were discussions taking place. There was no reason not to let it play out further and see what the city could do.”

..... and we are little over twelve hours from that deadline.

Occupy LA preps for the "end game" after getting notice from Deputy Mayor Matt Szabo.

Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council Member and Occupy LA Red Rabble Organizer Mario Brito with National Layers Guild's Jim Lafferty on the South Steps of City Hall.  They announced that the city was closing City Hall Park Space to camping effected Monday at 12:01 A.M. As they communicated via Occupy LA's "repetitive form of speech" Brito and Lafferty made it clear that they had support of labor (SEIU) and clergy groups. Tonight should be a festive but tense night at Occupy LA, as they await a "LAPD blue dawn" on Monday.

Mayor Villar and his LAPD Chief orders City Hall Park closed at 12:01 A.M. on Monday November 28, 2011

Mayor Villar and his selected LAPD Chief Charlie Beck.
In an extraordinary press conference lacking in crowd control, Mayor Antonio Villar and his LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck announced that City Hall Park would be closed at 12:01 A.M.on Monday morning. Praising the SEIU supported Occupy LA efforts to take the spotlight away from the rampant corruption of his administration, correction, bring attention to the rampant looting of America by the elitist 1% (George Soros and Warren Buffet) of rich Americans (most who support Big Government), Mayor Villar said its time for Occupy LA to move on.
Earlier today and twice during Mayor Villar's Press Conference, Occupy LA supporters stated that they are remaining in place. ** (Interruptions of sacred Mayor Villar photo ops are grounds for jail time in LA) Thus, look for portable bleacher seats to go up along Spring and First Streets to view the theatrics ahead.

Occupy LA videos of City Liason Meeting with Deputy Mayor Matt Szabo 11-23-11

Blogger notes: Occupy LA has uploaded to Youtube videos of their 11-23-11 Meeting with Deputy Mayor Matt Szabo. Szabo stated to the group that the "park space" around City Hall would be close next week, forcing Occupy LA to relocate. Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council Member and Occupy LA "Red Rabble Organizer" Mario Brito responded that Szabo's statement were "tantamount to a declaration of war on Occupy LA". Highlighting the collusion between Occupy LA and SEIU,  Brito relayed a message from Mike Garcia of SEIU stating that any actions against Occupy LA would meet with "major street actions by SEIU". We should note that Matt Szabo does a good job of playing "good cop" with supposed empathy for the cause of Occupy LA. But come a week from today, his verbiage will be remember as double talk with restoration efforts getting underway around City Hall---Scott Johnson in CD 14.
Part One with most of the action.
Part Two with follow up comments.
Part Three, the rambling ends.

Pre-Gobble, Gobble Day "Political Dumplings" via the Los Angeles Political Machine

Los Angeles Times choice of companion photo to go with its City Councilman Jose Huizar's Medical Marijuana Ban Proposal story that appears in today's paper.
Great Pre-Gobble, Gobble Getaway Day as many prep to endure government-sanction groping at LAX and other airports near you and judging from the LA Times photo choice above, the editors at the Old Gray Hag on Spring Street did not want to waste anytime in panning CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar's latest effort to cast himself as tough on Medical Marijuana. One can gather from the photo above, that the Princeton grad as been spending ample time in Eagle Rock "studying the affects" of Medical Marijuana on his constituents in the Northeast (munchies and laughter come to mind).
** Meanwhile Councilman Huizar's "Political Papi" Mayor Antonio Villar is having some regressive moments on his supposed deal with the "Red Rabble on the South Lawn" and his "Maywood moment" regarding his "wavering stance" on the 30 day impound sanctions for unlicensed drivers. Goes to show that Mayor Villar still has those instincts that protected him in his youth from the likes of gangsters in Hazard and other neighborhoods. Now, City Hall observers wonder if this Monday's supposed deadline for the Red Rabble to depart City Hall grass space, will be a "hard deadline".
** Amazing how a little LA Times David Zahniser "unwanted attention", can create havoc among the city's lobbyist community, witness the sudden withdrawl of the Dakota and Cerrell Communications Groups contract proposals to the troubled Redistricting Commission.
** We bring a quick preview of our regular feature "Another Soulvine Thursday with Betty Pleasant" which will appear tomorrow in whole for your Thanksgiving pleasure.
Betty on CD 15:
TAKING SIDES — The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor overwhelmingly endorsed Assemblyman Warren Furutani to replace Hahn as City Council member for the 15th District Monday. The County Fed’s endorsement of Furutani places the two candidates in the January runoff with clearly contrasting bases of support. Last week, the L.A. Chamber of Commerce, representing large downtown business interests, endorsed Furutani’s opponent, the cop, who was a registered Republican until he began his campaign for City Council. Furutani, on the other hand, is a life-long Democrat, is endorsed by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party and is an experienced and effective fighter for good jobs and working  families. (** Betty did not get the notice of the firefighter and his union UFLAC, who endorsed the cop yesterday).
** Lastly as a public service, we provide this visual after the jump, on the proper stance for exposing yourself to those who protect the traveling public at our airports TSA. Safe travels and joyest Thanksgiving to all.

Mid-Day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

Another "shady attempt" at political self-enrichment by Michael "MEAT" Trujillo.
The 2011 Redistricting Commission's "Reign of Andrew Westall" will be remember for its "redrawing favors for votes" and "outreach contracts for connected insiders".
Maybe with the ascension of his boss CD 10 City Councilman Herb Wesson to the "Head Ringmaster of City Clowncil" tomorrow, the need to turn the 2011 edition of redrawing council district boundaries into an exercise of political pimping will wane. The latest example of pimping the services of the Redistricting Commission, was exposed by Los Angeles Times Reporter David Zahniser who noted the three connected lobbyist groups which included one with financial ties to Commission Member Michael "MEAT" Trujillo.

Zahniser was kind enough to enlist a comment from Sunland-Tujunga Salwart Joe Barrett regarding one of the finalists Dakota Communications, who endeared themselves to the citizens of the S.T. by busing in paid supporters of Home Depot.

Joe Barrett, co-director of the Sunland-Tujunga Alliance, a group that fought the Home Depot proposal, said he would be unhappy to see Dakota representing the redistricting process. "Dakota has a horrible reputation with our community," he said.

Likewise Cerrell Associates endear themselves to local activists regarding their work on behalf of Apartment Owners.

Larry Gross, executive director of the Coalition for Economic Survival, an advocacy group that represents tenants, voiced dismay that one of Cerrell's clients is the L.A. chapter of the California Apartment Assn., which has opposed new limits on rent hikes by landlords.
"A firm that represents landlords and has been fighting against rent control…is going to have difficulty winning the trust of renters, who make up more than 60% of L.A. residents," he said.

Then there was the Trujillo connected group, but this blogger will pass on giving MEAT any more needless attention.
