An Afternoon Brief on the Burning LaBonge for Wednesday

What is the resulting "Corrupting Smell" when the Unofficial Historian of the Los Angeles City Council becomes the "Burning LaBonge of Public Documents"?
Why would the Burning LaBonge want to keep secret his Sister City Endeavors (meant expenditures)?
** Blogger's Note: For those who were regular observers of the Los Angeles City Council during the just-concluded, CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge Era, will find it hard not to remember a time when the Griffith Park-representing Officeholder, would cite some historical footnote or antidote, pertaining to official business ........., and especially his travels on behalf of "Sister Cities of Los Angeles".

Morning Brief on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

As we start the last full week of Fiscal Year 2014/2015, the end is near for two distinct political personas of the Los Angeles City Council Bernard Parks and Tom LaBonge.
Can we envision the soon to be former LAPD Chief and CD 8 City Councilman, enjoying a post political life behind a Talk Radio Microphone?
Where will the former Marshall Barrister Gridiron Standout catch on after his July 1 exit as CD 4 City Councilman?
Please forgive the current blogging melancholy state of being.
Summer 2015 is one day old and its already been an environmental pisser, with this blogger's favorite beach destination close due to an oil spill (El Capitan State Beach), high mountain sanctuary going up in flames (Lake Fire near Big Bear) ........., and the most egregious, the "University of Scandalous Conduct/Clowncilman Jose Huizar Tree Massacre" at Hazard Park, so bloggin forgive me if my musings take on a more sardonic edge in the days ahead.
For us bloggin lovers of local political theater, festivities under the John Ferraro Clowncil Chambers Big Top will never be the same as its reigning top billing performer, walks out (with football in hand) into the political sunset (best viewed from the top of Mt. Hollywood in "Griffith/LaBongeland Park").
Sadly, for this blog (and the fiscal well-being of the city), July 1, 2015 will dawn on the beginning of the CD 8 City Clowncil Central Committee Era of its newest Labor/Left Stooge Marqueese "Mini Herman Amin" Dawson-Harris, as the once "Bitter Bernie" humors his way into a "See I Told You So Better Tomorrow".
We want to be the first in espousing for a post City Clowncil Talk Radio Show Gig for the reigning Voice of Common Sense, with a wealth of local political perspective ....... and an under appreciated inner-comedic wit.
For a bloggin fleeting moment, the thought of  a "Parks with LaBong" radio pairing, was a day dream quickie ......, and gladly only that. in lieu of the former Marshall Gridiron Standout's buffoon-like proclivities.
But in all seriousness, the departure of Parks brings an end to a level of independent political maturity that will not be seen anytime soon ........., unless Angelinos come together in returning factually-based, common sense to 200 Spring Street.

TGIF Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine

After multitudes of interviews with the double-digit amount of candidates seeking to replace termed-out CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge, the Los Angeles Times endorses former Councilman LaBonge Staffer, turned Small Business Owner Sheila Irani.
The LA Times Endorses Sheila Irani for City Council District Four.
CD 4 Candidate Steve Veres, staffer of self-crowning, California State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First", did not even merit "creditable mention" in the Time's CD 4 Editorial.
Here is some papers that CD 4 City Council Candidate Sheila Irani wouldn't mind being served with.
In the much awaited LA Times Endorsement for the City Council District Four Open Seat, the Editorial Board sat through multiple interviews before bestowing its coveted support for the former Councilman LaBonge staffer, turned Small Business Owner.
The Times states of Irani ........., "Irani is intelligent, quick on her feet and has a background in business, real estate investment, city government and volunteer community work, all of which would serve her well on the council. Armed with an MBA from UCLA, she launched a small marketing business that helped public-sector clients across the country promote congestion-easing transportation initiatives. She has a sense of the hurdles faced by small-business owners in L.A. Like most of the candidates in the race, she favors business tax relief, although she's not willing to drain the city budget to do it".
Surprising in the Times Editorial is the lack of "creditable status" given to the top two money candidates David Ryu and especially in the case of Steve Veres, the Staffer to self-crowning political royalty California State Senate President Pro Tem "Kevin de Leon the First".
Apparently, the Establishment Machine's Candidate Veres, did not impress the Editorial Board with his creative scheme of securing free help from "Private Citizen/Volunteer Campaign Consultant" John Shallman before wife Lani's "West Coast Public Affairs" started during work for the IE Campaign (with undisclosed benefactors), supporting his campaign.
** CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar took time out of his b-u-s-y campaign schedule to host his first El Sereno Townhall Meeting in recent times at Farmdale Elementary. With the usual assortment of cronies such as Hugo "Comandante" Garcia, Eddie "paid for Honorary Mayor" Santillan, Joe "noted Corner Store imbiber" Cano and Tammy "Maytag" Membreno in attendance, roughly 60-75 Stakeholders (with about 20 Huizar staffers filling the seats), spent about 90 minutes discussing community issues (well ...., mostly Cal Trans related).

On Deadline Morning Briefs for Hump Day

We are working with CD 14 Campaign Insiders (from which candidate we can't say) on a major Exclusive that will appear on Monday.
What information does our "contact" have for us today?
** Just when you thought "The Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" (aka LA Times) had regain something called "Creditability" for its excellent Editorial on the Lavish Pay of the Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee, they promptly forfeited, with its endorsement for re-election of reigning Strongman CD 8 City Clowncilman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson.
** Once again, the Money Interest behind the IE Committees supporting CD 4 City Council Candidate Steve Veres and CD 6 City Councilwoman Nury Martinez, are being shy about who is really bankrolling their over-inflated (allegedly) mailers produced by "Private Citizen/Campaign Consultant" John Shallman.
** HAHAHAHAHA!! Nothing like sharing a morning laugh at the expense of out-going CD 4 City Clowncilman Tom LaBonge. This because of the disclosure by City Attorney Mike Feuer that his attempt to overturn the contract recommendation of the Department of Recreation & Parks regarding the supposed new Greek Theater Contract with Live Nation, could have dire legal ramifications.

A Morning Brief on the Greek Theater Political Intrigue for Wednesday

As the politically-charged drama of who will become the City of Los Angeles Recreation & Parks-owned Greek Theater Operator, heads to the full City Clowncil Central Committee for a final determination, CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino is the lone vote of reason in supporting the recommendations of Recreation and Parks Management.
Again, Clowncilman LaBonge (and three other Clowncil Colleagues) disrespects Recreation & Parks Management recommendations on a Griffith Park Icon.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Hump Day

Please excuse the bloggin exhale ..............
As the first full work week of 2014 reaches the hump, all in the world of local political print commentary is normal with the return of the reigning "Scribe of Wit", Downtown News Editor Jon Regardie from his Holiday Season Hiatus.
Never straying far from our CD 14 centric bloggin center of being, we bring you an excerpt on one of Regardie's seven subject matters, who's recent actions east of Downtown, has caught the attention of the noted Clippers Fan.
Ana Guerrero: Ana Guerrero has been with Eric Garcetti since 2001 and currently serves as the mayor’s chief of staff. But for how long? City Hall is abuzz with speculation that Guerrero will jump into the 14th District City Council race in an attempt to unseat incumbent José Huizar. She hasn’t copped to a campaign yet, but you can be sure that the consultants are doing the background work and assessing how wounded Huizar is following the revelations of an affair with a former deputy. Guerrero likely won’t enter the 2015 election without the blessing and backing of her boss. This could be a test of her viability and, more intriguingly, Garcetti’s patronage.
...... we ponder if the "Monkey Butler" will entertain a response?

** Despite the riveting appeals of LAUSD School Board Member Steve Zimmer, the remaining Failure Mayor Antonio Villar allies on the School Board, stood together in blocking an appointment to replace the Late District One School Board Member Marguerite Poindexter-LaMotte during last evening's looooooong, devisive meeting on Beaudry. Reigning School Board President Richard Vladovic acted as the Dr, Death in killing the appointment option.
** The fallout of the surprise, sudden resignation (and the number of declared candidates) of Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, continues to grow. While the short term fixation is on who will replace Sheriff Baca at the end of the month. the Los Cerritos News is reporting that Assistant Sheriff and City of Lakewood Vice-Mayor Todd Rogers is "100% intent" on seeking to be elected the next Los Angeles County Sheriff. Sheriff Baca during his morning press conference had stated that Assistant Sheriff Rogers should be consider as his possible interim replacement.
** With a changeover of City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Commissioners, just on the other side of the playground, the out-going cast of commissioners have a nice present on their last agenda for a certain "Uber Wannabee Griffith Park Superintendent", that would cause the late Col. Griffith consternation, via the Griffith Park Wayist Blog. We should also note that longtime Rec & Parks Commission Frontperson Barry Sanders is being replace by the wife of CD 3 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Bob Blumenfield.
** Lastly, as the controversy grows over the potentially disastrous Hollywood Millennium Project, another accidental act of geologic fact will take place in the late A.M.
MILLENNIUM PROJECT OPPONENTS REACT TO EARTHQUAKE MAP
Opponents to Hold News Conference at City Hall
At 11 am tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 8), the California Geological Survey will hold a news conference in the Carmel Room at the Junipero Serra Building, 320 W. 4th Street, Los Angeles. At that time CGS officials, led by State Geologist Dr. John Parrish, will release the agency’s earthquake map for the Hollywood area.
That map is likely to have a very significant impact on the controversial Millennium Hollywood Project.
Fifteen minutes or so after the CGS news conference, Robert P. Silverstein, attorney for the city-wide coalition of community groups opposed to the project, will join Hollywood community activists at a news conference on the First Street Steps of City Hall to comment on the new earthquake map and its impact on the Millennium project.
Silverstein expects to be present at the CGS news conference but he will not be speaking to the media at that time. He will reserve his comments for the subsequent news conference at City Hall.
WHEN: Tomorrow, Jan. 8th, 15 minutes after the CGS news conference
WHERE: First Street Steps of City Hall
WHAT: Attorney Robert P. Silverstein, representing Stopthemillenniumhollywood.org, will comment on the CGS map and how it will impact the Millennium project. Community activists involved in the Millennium fight will be present as well, carrying signs.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

As residents below the Hollywood Sign continue to express discontent with the tourist influx into their neighborhoods, we have a blogging flashback to remember which CD 4 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Staff, help contribute to the controversy.
From a past blog post: CD 4 City Councilman Tom LaBonge's "Chief of Field Operations" Dave Ahern moonlighting as landscaping worker at supposed Hollywood Sign tourist spot.  Wonder if the project was exempt from CEQA requirements?

Two years later, what is the out-going CD 4 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Tom LaBonge comments about the problem he contributed to?
Los Angeles Councilman Tom LaBonge, who represents the area, believes the problems would be lessened if the tour companies would park at the Griffith Observatory to view the sign.
"I absolutely do support people visiting here from around the world," LaBonge said. "But the impact on the neighborhood has been great."

...... with contribution from your "all hands on staffers".

Did the Lucrative 1% Charter Education Collective Duo of Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson (along with supporter Richard Alatorre), have a good day at the Los Angeles County Board of Education Meeting? Maybe not, judging from this morning's Twitter comment below.

Marcos Aguilar@SemillasPueblo 2h
In the Republic of LACOE, all is quiet today. Under a veil of silence evil thrives.

** Mayor Eric Garcetti has already one-up former Mayor Antonio Villar in the area of information technology, as he unveil a new link on his website that supposedly allows you to check in on your favorite city department. In the same spirit of openness and transparency, we call upon City Controller Ron Galperin to create a link on his official webpage that chronicles how all fifteen members of the LA City Clowncil Central Committee, dispense and allocate discretionary funds.
** Sacramento Politicos State Senator Kevin De Leon, Assemblyman Ricardo Lara and Assembly Speaker John (First Cousin of Tony Villar) Perez, got caught up in the emotion of the moment, as the mass crowd at Boyle Heights Resurrection Church, chanted "SHUT IT DOWN!", referring to the City of Vernon Exide Battery Plant. From the LA Times.
At one point in the raucous meeting, the crowd started screaming, "Shut it down! Shut it down!" Pérez and state Sens. Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) and Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens) clapped in time to the chant.
..... we wonder if Senator De Leon would clap along for a "SHUT DOWN THE CITY OF VERNON" Chant? $50 Million Dollars of Dirty Vernon Money, naught.

Your thoughts ..............
