A Formal Reply from John Shallman's Attorney Andrew Cowan
Mayor Sam receives formal "Cease and Desist Letter" from Democratic Political Consultant John Shallman's Attorney Andrew Cowan.
** Blogger's note: In response to a blog missive posted here yesterday regarding Democratic Political Consultant John Shallman, the Mayor Sam Blog received the following "Cease and Desist Letter" from Gallo LLP Attorney Andrew Cowan, on the behalf of Mr. Shallman. In the spirit of openness, transparency and the First Amendment Right to Freedom of the Press, we post the letter below for your review. As the letter below states, Mr. Cowan is representing Mr. Shallman against a lawsuit filed by former client City Attorney Carmen Trutanich. For the record, the post that is the subject of Shallman's protest, was not a statement of fact by this writer, but merely an exercise in ascertaining the veracity of an email received by myself (** which was partly validated by Shallman's Attorney Andrew Cowan). Further, this writer has never endeavor to slander the Shallman Family, but merely reported on the recent work of Lani Shallman's "West Coast Public Affairs Business". In closing, this blog writer will continue to comment factually in the future on Mr. Shallman's political work and accord him (or his chosen attorney) the right to rebuttal---Scott Johnson.

Shallman and his lawyer are dorks. You seemed to hit a nerve.
Looks like Wendy has brought in someone new to handle her press.
It's amazing how quickly Higby folds his cards when legally challenged.
What's the matter, Higby? Don't you stand by what you allow Scott to post?
Where is your bravado and swagger now? Why not stand up to Shallman and stand by your post and poster?
It should not take an attorney in order for the blog to second guess its content, let alone have some integrity.

Please take notice that all we did is clarify the background behind the missive in question and remind Mr. Shallman (and his chosen attorney), that their responses to any of our future posts, would be accorded the respect of coverage. No content has been retracted.
Now feel free to rejoin your soccer game in progress on the 101 Freeway.
Scott, that's a cop-out.
You did in this case, the same CRAP you pull the 364 other days of the year, and you DID NOT STAND BY YOUR STORY.
If it was just a clarification, you'd have made it. You didn't. The lawyer ordered you to take it down, and you did.
It's a sign tha Higby understands that you have no integrity, and when challenged on it, he folds because he KNOWS it's bull. He chooses not to fight when an attorney orders you to stand down.
You now have a record of this.
Higby didn't stand by you when Gatto's attorney ordered you to retract it.
And now Shallman's attorney did the same, and Higby folded.
If he felt you had integrity and the truth behind you, he could hire an attorney and COUNTER SUE to cover the cost.
When it came right down to it, Higby didn't have faith in you enough to stand by you.
All politicos in L.A. take note. The next time Scott posts crap about you, hire an attorney and see if Higby has the balls to stand by it. So far, he hasn't.
As for you Scott, you are endlessly jealous of people who have a career in politics. You never figured out how to make one for yourself, and you subsequently and consequently use the blog as your "get even" strategy, except when faced down by an attorney.
Is Scott Johnson a shill for Trutanich and his cronies? Does Scott Johnson print baseless smears sent to him by Trutanich operatives? Is Scott Johnson a shlub who sits in front of his computer jerking off while obsessing about a local political consultant? Is Scott Johnson under criminal investigation? This is just speculation and these things haven't been denied by Scott Johnson ...
Uh, I don't see that Higby said anything? He was too busy smacking down Tom and Joe on the Huell Howser thing.
I'm not calling Scott a genius. It is curious that the minute the press goes after Wendy, Shallman comes after Mayor Sam.
