 We bring you the worst repugnant attack piece of the 2013 City of Los Angeles Elections, compliments of the allies of Jose "Mini Ed Reyes" Gardea for City Council Campaign

The blunt truth here is what desperate campaign would lower themselves into the sewer by using the deceased wife of challenger Gil Cedillo to score cheap political points? Especially when your campaign came within .7 percent of not making a runoff? Ed, whoops Jose Gardea should issue an immediate condemnation of this IE piece of trash paid for by Local 770 United Food and Commercial Works and create by Consultant Phil Giarrizzo. 

So for less than $10,000 of super market employees dues money, "Mini Ed Gardea's" allies brings corrupt Southeast LA style campaign attacks into the CD 1 Campaign, that Giarrizzo should know well from his past association with the likes of indicted South Gate figurehead Angel Gonzalez, former City of Bell Interim City Administrator and Ed Reyes Campaign Worker Pedro Carrillo and the infamous "Chacon Political Family of Commerce/ Montebello" who have current ties with Councilman Reyes.  

Its one thing to attack Gill Cedillo for his policy issues, we have, but attacking a candidate by using family members who have done nothing wrong, is beyond reproach and should be rightfully repudiated.

Great Monday to all after a forced hiatus due to a pesky inner ear issue last week, which affected the bloggin equilibrium of this writer.

But rest assure that our bloggin down time did not go unproductive as the photo on the left will attest to.

While the Los Angeles Times continues to shill for the third term incarnation of CD 1 City Councilman Ed "Density" Reyes, in the form of current Chief of Staff Jose Gardea. A bloggin contributor blessed us with our new Ass Clown Awards Mascots in the spirit of sensitivity to potential post CD 1 career opportunities for the soon to be unemployed political duo.

Our inner job producing personas can envision many ways to market this political duo for a private after life outside of City Hall. In addition to their regular gig as the Official Mayor Sam Ass Clown Mascots, we can have Ed and Mini Ed replace their former campaign worker Pedro Carrillo as the new 7 Eleven consultants in the sensitive communities of our city. Watch as Ed maneuvers Mini Ed's hands as he thanks your for supporting more corporate beer and wine sales in gang-infested neighborhoods.

Of course this duo will need some non-city wheels to get around town and we know a certain Glendale Kia Dealership that would be willing to match their IE expenditure, with a car (or cars) of equal value, in return for maintaining their current lease agreement on city land.

But no political after life for Ed and Mini Ed would be complete without some attachment to hilltop open space, a river and its watershed (of potential lucrative consulting gigs). Whether its inflating the value of Elephant Hill with an exemption from the Northeast Hillside ICO for Land Use Attorney Ben Reznik's client, or attempting to pave the way (literally) for USC to concrete over open space at Hazard Park. Its safe to say that this duo will not be starving over any lack of developer clients who will pay for their enabling hypocrisy in forcing more unsustainable density on an impacted CD 1, but without access to the horseshoe, their two-face dealings will hopefully come to naught.

Will former Mayor Villar Lapdog City Attorney Candidate Jack Weiss, become Chief of Staff for a possible City Attorney Mike Feuer?

Hola to all in the local political cybersphere as we end our bloggin Spring Sequester and what a better way to return, than with this explosive bit of political chisme.

According to reliable sources, former CD 5 City Councilman and failed Mayor Antonio Villar Lapdog City Attorney Candidate Jack Weiss, may be returning to the city payroll come July 1, 2013.

The return of Weiss to gainful city employment, is predicated on Mike “Bet Tzedek” Feuer becoming City Attorney, who then would select Weiss as his Chief of Staff, according to our sources.

For activists in CD 5 and city-wide, a union of Feuer and Weiss in the City Attorney Office, should be a rallying call for preserving an independent office, that is only beholden to the interests of the citizens within the City of Los Angeles.

** Here is some latest observations on the runoff contests for May.

** CD 1: Is it strange or the standard M.O. of the City Clerk Office, that we have not seen any updates on the uncounted Absentee or Provisional Ballots? Maybe this has to do with the fact that Gil Cedillo, is “this close” to breaching the 50% level, in his race against current City Councilman Ed Reyes anointed successor Jose Gardea?

** CD 9: The University of Southern California’s “Neon Tommy” News Blog, has this tear gusher on the “rags to one percent staffer riches story” of City Council Candidate Ana Cubas. We would recommend that the undergrads dedicate ample cyber space in exposing the “S.C. (scandalous conduct) Proclivities” of the former highest paid, city council Chief of Staff.

** CD 13: Who would have higher name recognition in CD 13, former LA Dodgers “one game wonder” Hee Seop Choi or LA County Labor Federation “parachute city council candidate” John Choi?

** LAUSD District Six: Simple political word problem for the brother and sister indoctrinators of UTLA, “If a candidate for the LAUSD School Board was a prior enabler on the now litigious 2012 LA City Redistricting Commission, what makes you think that Antonio Sanchez will vote against the educational interest of the “Eli Broad/ Mayor Villar/ Councilman Huizar / LAUSD School Board President Monica “Gorda Boo Boo” Garcia Education Machine“?

** City Controller: So sad to see how low the political star of CD 3 City Councilman Dennis “The Valley Zine” has fallen.

** Mayor: How much pandering does it take “The Villar Greuel” to secure the support of the LA County Labor Federation? Better question would be how much new revenue will “The Villar Greuel” need to create to pay off all her Labor IOUs?

Lets make no doubt here that Perry Campaign Political Consultant Eric Hacopian, has done the best job by far of stretching campaign dollars into effective mail box pieces.

** The candidates seeking to replace termed-out CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes, gather one last time at Lincoln Heights Sacred Heart Church to debates the issues as Election Day nears. Going negative was Jose Gardea, who accused Gil Cedillo of being a shill for Wal Mart and Chevron Oil. Cedillo politely shrugged of the attacks, in mostly a mundane affair.

** As City Attorney Carmen Trutanich and his challengers wrapped up a series of contentious, animated debates, Nuch has released his first TV ad as he seeks to offset the monetary and Special interests advantage of Mike Feuer. Challenger Greg (not Greig) Smith picked up the endorsement of the “Valley Daily Moldy Green Sheet” (aka Daily News).

Former Councilperson Bernard Parks and Jan Perry Planning Staffer David Roberts endorsed by LA Times in CD 9 Contest. 

A candidate like David Roberts who know the district and has a plan for economic revival, is worthy of being its next CD 9 City Councilperson.

Great Monday morning to all as we enter the last full week of campaigning before our March 5 Election Day.

How excited are you in casting your vote four the next mayor, a new councilperson, a sales tax increase, some Doomberg-financed LAUSD School Board candidates and lets not forget LACCD Trustees?

According to Valley Daily Moldy Green Sheet (aka Daily News) City Hall Beat Writer Rick Orlov, only ten percent of register voters have returned their absentee ballot. That telling fact should add urgency to the campaigning of the candidates as they seek out voters to get their respective campaigns, in the top two slots, as most contests seem likely to end up in a May Runoff.

** In the contested campaign battlegrounds of Council Districts 9 and 13, the “Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street” (aka LA Times), has endorsed former CD 9 Redistricting Commission Representative David Roberts and City Councilman Eric Garcetti staffer Mitch O’Farrell, respectively. We spent some quality time interviewing Roberts last week at his Campaign Headquarters and will endeavor to share that conversation with our audience this evening.

** The candidates to replace CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes will meet tonight in their last debate before Election Day at the Sacred Heart Church Auditorium (Sichel and Griffin Streets) in Lincoln Heights, beginning at 7:00 PM.

** Tune in your radios to Westside LA/ Santa Moscow’s Public Radio Station KCRW at 2:15 PM , as the candidates for City Attorney come together for their last debate. Expect a contentious, vigorous dialog as the sitting City Attorney Carmen Trutanich and main challenger Mike Feuer are sure to rain verbal salvos on run another.

** The Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street is up to its old agenda journalism antics with today’s supposed expose on the past and currents comments by Mayoral Candidate Kevin James. So much for the thought that one evolves his opinions as he or she goes through daily life’s experiences.

A Bloggin "Meet and Greet" with CD 1 Candidate Gil Cedillo

** Blogger's note: As we enter the last week of campaigning leading up to March 5 Election Day, this blogger has been out and about in the city interviewing various candidates for office. We will bring you those missives beginning tomorrow. Yesterday morning, I made my way into the busy collectivist hub that is the Gil Cedillo for CD 1 City Council Office,on Daly and Main Street in Lincoln Heights.

 The brothers and sisters of SEIU (including those from the former Local 347 that I knew from my Shop Steward days), were out in force , supporting their former SEIU 660 brother Gil. With panduse in hand (and a second one to follow), a mutual friend who is supporting Cedillo, brought Red Spotted Blogger and One Bill Gill together and first impressions? Cedillo is an engaging, affable persona who is not afraid to stray from practical political behavior and embrace unconventional actions (like his endorsement by Mayor Antonio Villar). Revealing also, were Cedillo's comments on his friend, former California Governor Pete Wilson, who's support of Prop 187, is still reviled by many in the Latino Community. Referencing back to his comments in a 2004 Los Angeles Times Magazine on Wilson, Cedillo restate his comments from the article as excerpted below.

State Sen. Gil Cedillo, a Democrat from Los Angeles, is regarded as a ground-zero advocate of Latino political causes, especially as the prime mover behind the effort to give illegal immigrants driver's licenses. He has mixed feelings about the man he worked against (and sometimes with) in Sacramento. As do many Democrats, he doesn't hesitate to praise Wilson's budgetary discipline and overall decisiveness: "Unfortunately, the 187 episode may eclipse the career of a man I consider very competent, very moderate and an effective leader."Cedillo says there is lingering distaste for the notorious commercial showing immigrants sneaking across the border. The grainy, sinister look of the film made the immigrants appear to be criminals, and revealed the true feelings of its backers, Cedillo says. The line used in the commercial: "They keep coming."Still, neither Cedillo nor McCarthy believes Wilson is a racist. Cedillo's voice slows and drops lower, as though mourning the thought: "The governor is not a racist. No way. He had the courage to step forward on his convictions, and although I didn't agree with him, there was no question where he stood.

With Cedillo's Sacramento legislative career now a memory and his campaign to replace City Councilman Ed Reyes, a door to door ground battle against Reyes's Chief of Staff Jose Gardea, will Cedillo's affable, engaging persona, grant him an extension of his political career? California Governor Jerry "Moonbeam II" Brown endorses Gil Cedillo for CD 1

Then Assemblyman Gil Cedillo and California Governor "Moonbeam II" celebrate signing of California Dream Act. 

From California Governor Wannabee and Failed Mayor Tony Villar to the second incarnation of "Governor Moonbeam II, the Gil Cedillo for City Council Campaign continues to pick up momentum leading up to Election Day, with its latest endorsement from the current Governor. From KPCC.

“Gil Cedillo is a proven local leader who knows how to bring people together to get things done,” Brown said in a statement from the campaign.“We need Gil Cedillo’s leadership, strength and passion on the Los Angeles City Council in order to create jobs, increase neighborhood safety, and expand after-school programs that keep our kids safe.”The nod from the governor is Cedillo’s second high-profile endorsement in the past week. L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa backed Cedillo in a City Hall news conference last Friday.

Los Angeles City Controller and Mayoral candidate Wendy Greuel has once again refused to comply with a public records request submitted by Los Cerritos Community Newspaper, it was reported on Tuesday.The requests were made back on January 22 and 23, 2013, from LCCN Publisher/Owner Brian Hews under the California Public Records Act (PRA).In the request, LCCN sought all emails and written correspondence between Greuel and Brian D’Arcy, Head of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #17, political consultant John Shallman, owner of Shallman Communications and consultant to Greuel’s Mayoral campaign, and Greuel for Mayor Campaign Manager Rose Kapolczynski..

From cutting the ribbon to breaking bread, two old friends to end longtime bitter feud today at 2:00 PM presser on the steps of City Hall.

The Gil Cedillo for CD 1 City Council Campaign has called a 2 PM Press Conference to announce that Mayor Antonio Villar is endorsing the former Assemblyman to replace current CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes.
