CD 1 Councilman Ed Reyes Staffer Politician Husband never file tax returns for his Consulting Firm
"CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes wading through the increased beer and wine flow supplied by 7-eleven"
While the Lincoln Heights Community faces the loss of American Veteran Ben Lee's Donut Shop business to the expansion wishes of 7-eleven, City Councilman Ed Reyes Lincoln Heights Field Office Director and former CD 14 Councilman Nick Pacheco staffer Sonia Jimenez is dealing with the embarrassing business dealings of her politician husband Montebello School Board Member Hector Chacon.
Chacon's political consulting firm Quantum Managment Services has never filed California tax returns and has been suspended from doing business in the state.
Hector Chacon's problems are the latest for the former Ramona Gardens family turned dubious political dynasty of Commerce/Montebello. Brother and Central Basin Water District Board Member Art Chacon was hit with $30,000 in fines from the FPPC for numerous campaign reporting violations and half brother Hugo Argumedo was forced to resign from the City of Commerce City Council for lying in recent court proceedings.
We should also note that another Chacon sibling Leticia was an prominent campaign worker for Councilman Reyes first campaign in 2001, collecting some close to $20,000 in campaign salaries. In addition to Leticia other dubious Southeast LA players who were associated with Reyes's 2001 campaign were City of Commerce's Roger Bagne, indicted South Gate/ Albert Robles Associate Angel Gonzalez and City of Bell Figurehead Pedro Carrillo.
And who is the point person for 7-eleven in their efforts to open more beer and wine selling locations within sensitive communities at the cost of the American Dream for the likes of Navy Veteran Ben Lee? Urban Associates President and CEO Pedro Carrillo.
Your thoughts..............

Very interesting. I hope someone files a complaint with the ethics commission.

Red Spot, you got your husband's and wives mixed up. Chacon is married to Susie. Sonia has enough problems of her own without compounding them with a Chacon relationship. Ed Reyes never interviewed the former Gloria Molina, Jackie Goldberg and Nick Pacheco staffer before hiring her. Kind of a risky bet, don't you think - wink, wink.

Corruption at its best. What is the difference between these Latino politicians and a syndicated crime mob?

Remove Ed Reyes from PLUM. He is too dumb to handle complicated issues.

Saying Ed Reye is dumb is being too nice. He is a stupid idiot. He has nothing between his 2 ears.

Ed Reyes need to stop those the loud amplified sound system from Divine Saviour Catholic Church!
Oh, he is not a democrat. He does not believe in separation of church and state. He doesn't even know what that means. Maybe still staff can tell him since they have to explain everything on the planet to him.

If the following statement is made right above the space provided for comment: "All comments will be moderated before publication. Comments that are libelous, slanderous, untrue and/or overly obscene will be deleted and not published. Otherwise, have it and don't be stupid." then should the same be true of authoring the articles? It would seem to me that's the way it should be. If even the simple fact of Sonia NOT being Hector Chacon's wife is ill reported here, how are the readers to believe any other "facts" reported?
I knew and worked with Hector years ago and I would never think that all the things being said about him are true. Where are the charges against him and if there should be any brought up by some "lynch mob" or "Salem Witch Hunters", should we not allow him and those involved the opportunity of justice and the benefit of being "Innocent unless proven guilty"?
When you search any politician's reports, there will always be good and bad. For as many people love you, so the same amount will hate you. As Hector was quoted in an L.A. Times article as saying, "Unfortunately, in politics there's people who win and people who lose," he said. "My critics would be the people who lose." Those critics must also be the same people who are spreading such negativity. Always consider the source.
