Nothing Sacred in the CD 1 City Council Campaign including Gil Cedillo's Deceased Wife

We bring you the worst repugnant attack piece of the 2013 City of Los Angeles Elections, compliments of the allies of Jose "Mini Ed Reyes" Gardea for City Council Campaign
The blunt truth here is what desperate campaign would lower themselves into the sewer by using the deceased wife of challenger Gil Cedillo to score cheap political points? Especially when your campaign came within .7 percent of not making a runoff? Ed, whoops Jose Gardea should issue an immediate condemnation of this IE piece of trash paid for by Local 770 United Food and Commercial Works and create by Consultant Phil Giarrizzo.

So for less than $10,000 of super market employees dues money, "Mini Ed Gardea's" allies brings corrupt Southeast LA style campaign attacks into the CD 1 Campaign, that Giarrizzo should know well from his past association with the likes of indicted South Gate figurehead Angel Gonzalez, former City of Bell Interim City Administrator and Ed Reyes Campaign Worker Pedro Carrillo and the infamous "Chacon Political Family of Commerce/ Montebello" who have current ties with Councilman Reyes.

Its one thing to attack Gill Cedillo for his policy issues, we have, but attacking a candidate by using family members who have done nothing wrong, is beyond reproach and should be rightfully repudiated.

Your thoughts ..............

I don't get it. The article says that Cedillo used the death of his wife to explain why he didn't vote on AB 32, and then admitted he was wrong when confronted with the facts. It doesn't seem like this is a case of the independent expenditure injecting this into the race, when it appears that Gil did himself, in an attempt to gain sympathy?

Sorry, but I agree with nokalehere. I had heard that it was a hit piece on Cedillo's deceased wife and was appalled...until I saw the piece (thnx for posting it). Now I am a little disappointed at Gil for using it as an excuse for walking on a vote. Not cool. I also viewed the video of him actually doing it. It has a feel of a sympathy story that kinda blew up in his face since, it seems, the story was accurately reported.

Gil sent out a robocall for Mother's Day talking about his mother, mentioning that she passed away last year. It's sad that he has lost both his mother and his wife. But such bad taste for him to blatantly attempt to tap into those sympathies for pure political gain. And then to use the death of his wife to explain a vote that he skipped, even though it was years after she passed. Shame on him, and whoever is running his campaign.
