While many Angelinos were taking advantage of the Memorial Day Holiday to partake in a three-day getaway or simply BBQ with friends, LA Mayor Eric "Gar-SOFT-ee" was expressing his "THANKS" for those who have "SERVED". In a Memorial Weekend Getaway Friday Presser/Photo Op, with CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino, to announce a $9 Million Dollars Jobs Partnership with CalTrans, the Naval Reservist/Rhodes Scholar ........, and Second Term-seeking Mayor, reaped an immediate KFI 640 AM "John and Ken Show" retort for his comments that thanked ..........., THE FORMERLY INCARCERATED FOR SERVING THEIR TIME.Most of the time, comments such as those showcasing "Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee's" inner-tenderness for the time-served veterans of California's Penal System, would be forgotten by the Tuesday-after a Holiday Weekend. But in lieu of the recent, National News-garnering desecration of the Venice Mural/Memorial to the fallen Soldiers of the Viet-Nam War ......., and the rising Crime Rate (thanks to AB-109 and Prop 47), "Mayor Gar-SOFT-ee" would be better served, by espousing his appreciation to LA's 1,500 LAPD Patrol Officers and the community members who helped in partly-restoring the Venice Memorial/Mural----Scott Johnson.

As two LAPD Hollenbeck Division Officers recover from injuries resulting from a deadly altercation with an AB-109 "Non-Violent Probationer", speculation is rampant about an alleged, "breech of crime scene protocol", by the now Captain of the newly-created Community Relationships Division (and "close associate" of Chief Charlie Beck), Ruby Malachi.

** As two LAPD Hollenbeck Division Officers continue their respective recoveries following a May 13 Shootout with a supposed (and now deceased) "AB-109 Non-Violent Probationer", speculation is becoming increasing rampant that a certain new "Captain I (and CLOSE associate of LAPD Chief Charlie Beck)" is in need of a refresher course regarding "Crime Scene Protocols". According to multiple sources, Ruby Malachi, the newly-promoted Captain overseeing the recently-created Community Relationships Division, was observed to have breech the May 13 Boyle Heights Crime Scene, as defined by the familiar (and clearly-noted) red color tape, pictured above. This latest episode is surely to garner more scrutiny on how the newly-promoted Captain, was chosen to preside over the equally-new Community Relations Division, forgoing the normal protocol that saw Captains serve in a Divisional Patrol position.

** KCAL/KCBS Investigated Reporter David Goldstein in his latest installment, finds that Los Angeles County shares some "dead polling proclivities" with the State of Illinois Cook County. Not surprisingly, the majority of the Dead Voters were Democrats ..........., and some cast their ballot by mail. Most longtime political consultants will agree that the best way to bridge the Polling Place to those seeking to cast a vote from the "After Life", is by the Absentee Ballot. This fact may be why the Princeton-educated CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar has proposed that ALL City Elections be facilitated by Mail  Thus, come the time when the termed-out Officeholder seeks to become Mayor, then all he has to do is send a ballot to his Evergreen Cemetery Voting Base ;) ;).

With the June 7 California Primary approaching, the surging Presidential Campaign of Sanders is going all out in its battle against embattled Candidate Hillary Clinton. HOT Brief on the Questionable, Studio City Neighborhood Council Election Proceedings for Monday

In a reversal of a previous ruling, an Empower LA Neighborhood Council Elections Challenge Panel, reinstated Studio City NC Candidates Eric Preven and Patrice Berlin as the victorious candidates, unseating among others, the infamous "Dangerous Enemy of Freedom (and Fair Elections, allegedly)" Lisa Sarkin.

 "The Dangerous Enemy of Freedom (and Pro-Development Shill)" is "unwanted (officially)" on the Studio City NC by Stakeholders.

Justice prevails (after a second reconsideration) for anti-Development Activists Eric Preven and Patrice Berlin. 

Let Freedom reign once again in Studio City ..........., and may a "Dangerous Enemy of Freedom" forever be tainted for besmirching the character of TRUE neighborhood advocates.

This blog has previously noted the dubious exploits of now FORMER Studio Council Neighborhood Council Member Lisa Sarkin, who has earned the wrath of neighborhood advocates, city-wide, for her role in past acts of retribution, against the likes of former fellow SCNC Board Member Michael McCue and others who stood up against her constant Pro-Development shillings.

In recent times, efforts to remove her, either during the normal NC Election Cycle, or via an attempted Recall process, have narrowly failed to unseat the "Rubber Stamp" for controversial Development Projects such as the Sportsmen's Landing .........., but her Developers (and CD 2 City Councilman Paul Krekorian)-sanctioned antics, finally reached the tipping point during the just-completed April SCNC Elections.

Challengers Patrice Berlin and Eric Preven (also a former CD 2 Candidate), were the top two vote recipients, beating out Sarkin for the available two seats in the "Employee/Independent Contractor Catagory" ........., but the "Powers to Be (aka Friends of Sarkin)", concocted a scheme to usurp the will of the Stakeholders.

According to the LA Times, associates of Sarkin, filed multiple Election Challenges, that made allegations against Berlin and Preven, that the duo were involved in illegal Electioneering within the Polling Location. Further, officials with Empower LA, impaneled a RARE Grievance Committee, made up of the trio of Boyle Heights NC President Vera del Pozo, Historic Highland Park NC President Monica Alcarez and Eagle Rock NC President David Greene (all noted City Council PLUM Committee Chairperson Jose Huizar supporters), who ruled against the recommendation of Empower LA staff, and disqualified Berlin and Prevan, in a dubious (and questionably legal process) that made Kangaroo Courts look dignified.

But in documentation submitted by the duo of Berlin and Preven, to the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti and City Attorney Mike Feuer which raised serious questions about the objectivity (and the veracity of the allegations) regarding the actions taken against the duo  Its obvious that Empower LA was placing itself in legal trouble, especially when an alleged statement, submitted as part of the testimony collaborating the charges of Electioneering, are refuted by its supposed LAPD Officer witness, as noted below.

Thus,  contradictions in the evidence against Berlin and Preven, as exampled above (and legal pressure), may be why Empower LA took the drastic step to reconvene the Election Challenge Panel on May 9, 2016 .........., and the results were to rescind the Disqualification of Berlin and Preven (who was stilled found to have engaged in Electioneering, but given only a Written Reprimand).

If the presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee is true to her words in the video below regarding Sexual Assault, then she can be a POWERFUL voice, empowering those who have been subjective to the alleged horrors of inappropriate Sexual Conduct (as outlined in the Pasadena Police Report obtained via a Public Records Act Request) .........., that's unless those inconvenient moments of infidelity (or worse) by a straying spouse (or campaign supporter/fundraiser), gets in the way of personal, political ambition ----Scott Johnson in CD 14.

Morning Briefs on the Pending June Election Proceedings for Tuesday

In the weeks leading up to the June Primary, the Mayor Sam Blog will remain fixated on keyboarding coverage regarding the local election proceedings ..........., while musing on the local Political Machine theatrics regarding the 2016 Presidential Elections.

Local Elections Matters, especially when selecting Quality Future Judges such as David Berger.

Our Votes Matters ........., as always.

Yet in 2016, a rare Political Blue Moon occurrence may take place as voters in the "Greece on the Pacific (formerly the Golden State of California)", may have a decisive role on the Presidential Selection Process (especially if Ted Cruz pulls a "Hail Mary" in the Indiana Republican Primary today).

For us here at Mayor Sam, the 2016 Election Proceedings had already taken a bloggin, unforeseen diversion when Assemblyman Mike "Slobo Mikey" Gatto dropped out on an uber-anticipated 25th State Senate District blood-letting against former Assemblyman Anthony Portantino.

But instead of musing on the cyber, astro-turfing antics of "Gatto Truthers", we have been blessed with pending content galore on the local Political Machine theatrics, as the communal political factions take sides, in both the Republican and Democratic Primaries.

As witness with last week's RINO Populist (and past Clinton Foundation Contributor) Donald Trump's Costa Mesa Campaign Rally (view video below), there will be those on the Left-Wing fringe, who will exploit (with the help of indoctrinated Public School grads) the blunt immigration commentary (based on testimonials by the likes of Jamiel Shaw) of the bombastic Billionaire (with multiple bankruptcies), turned shallow, political blowhard.

That said, we want to remind our cyber audience that this blog will remain true to its focus on the local elections proceedings as exampled in the "David Berger for Judge (which we endorse)" photo above.

** 25th State Senate District Election: Even without Assemblyman Mike Gatto, this open seat contest between Anthony Portantino and termed-out LA County Board of Supervisor Mike Antonovich, should provide a barometer on turnout in November.

As we enter the month leading up to California's June Primary Elections, the lone token non-Democratic Member of the Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee Mitch Englander, is reaping the Special Interests Largess of his 200 Spring Street dealings as Developers, Big Billboard ........, and "Boss D'Arcy Rizzo's" IBEW donate to an Independent Expenditure Committee, benefiting the "Councilmember/Police Officer Fifelander Campaign" for the LA County Board of Supervisor Seat being vacated by termed-out Supervisor Mike Antonovich. 

In the latest tally of Campaign Contributions, the "Fifelander for Supervisor Campaign" showcased the benefits of being connect by blood, to the Englander, Knabe & Allen Consulting/Lobbyist Machine, as it reported $1.2 Million Dollars in contributions. 

But more telling are the monetary/future and past favors payments to an IE Committee, benefiting the current CD 12 Clowncil Central Committee Officeholder, as the LA Times notes.

The largest contributors to the committee set up to support Eng Fifelander came from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 11 and from fitness studio owner Janet Crown, who both gave $50,000.

........., a fact DWP ratepayers/City of Los Angeles-residing voters in the campaign to replace Supervisor Antonovich, should take notice of before casting their ballots.

The issue of questionable ballot designations is not only endemic to the LA County District Five Board of Supervisor Campaign.

Out-going District Four Supervisor Don Knabe aide/scheduler/deputy/and his endorsed choice to replace him Steve Nopalitano, was a recipient of a legal request by the Dr. Ralph Pacheco Campaign, to have his Ballot Designation reflect his actual "Deputy Duties".

Pacheco is asking that (Judge) O'Donnell order Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan to reject Napolitano’s paperwork and order Napolitano’s title on the ballot be changed to reflect the true scope of his duties as a field deputy in Knabe’s Torrance office, one of several offices the supervisor maintains throughout the district.  Although named as a defendant Logan will not render opposition in court.

......, in the spirit of compromise, we offer the following; "The smarter Candidate than Challenger Challenger Janice Babs Hahn" (but then that would be true of most of "Bab's past/current/and future challengers).
