Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

Andrea AlarCON offered Plea Deal in San Bernardino County DUI and Child Endangerment Case
City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works President Andrea AlarCON.

Hola and happy 12-12-12 to all, whether in front of the computer, or cleaning out the bunker for the looming end of the world.

On the subject of numbers (with decimal point) and the looming end (politically), Mayor Antonio Villar’s “alleged past Getty House guest”/ Board of Public Works President Andrea AlarCON, has been offered a Plea Deal by the San Bernardino County District Attorney.

The daughter of indicted CD 7/2 City Councilman Richard “Zorro Marxist” AlarCON, can avoid jail time in exchange for pleading guilty to one count each of DUI and Child Endangerment. If she chooses to go to trial, chances are good that jail time would result from multiple guilty verdicts. The fact that she was driving down treacherous Hwy.18 while impaired, with a child in the car, will not go ever well with a local jury (plus being a Los Angeles public official won’t help either).

Then considering that the hard-partying Georgetown Grad’s blood alcohol content came in at .18, this would be the right time for AlarCON to act contrite, take full accountability for her actions (in both the San Bernardino and City Hall episodes) and resign.

** City of Los Angeles CAO Miguel Santana may want to update his resume. Judging from the comments of various union heads, Santana may be the first casualty of a union-back candidate win the 2013 Mayoral Contest.

** One must wonder if Mayor Antonio Villar is still a proud progressive considering that thousands of his former fellow-traveling brothers and sisters, have signed a petition requesting the City Terrace native resign from the “Fix this Debt Organization”

** Surprise, surprise City Councilman Jose Huizar is fined again by the Ethics Commission ($10,000) for campaign violations from his 2011 Re-election Campaign. As Attorney Stephen Kaufman prepares the invoice for setting up another legal defense fund to pay off this latest ethical breach. We suggest that the Princeton Graduate set up an old city parking meter in front of his each district office for donations ( to later spend on fine dining).

** As the mayoral candidates prep for a Thursday night candidate forum where gangs issues will be discussed, Mayor Sam will post an exclusive on an alleged cover-up from this summer’s Summer Night Lights Program with embarrassing implications for Mayor Villar’s GRYD Program

Los Angeles City Controller and 2013 Mayoral Candidate Wendy "The Valley Greuel".

Damn!  that publicity-chasing, shallow-auditing, mayoral office seeking Valley Greuel is at it again.

All you need to know about The Valley Greuel latest publicity-chasing , blonde finds out lately audit of a local political controversy is this paragraph from the LA Times missive on her latest media attention exercise.
Many of the findings mirrored those in an August 2011 report by State Controller John Chiang, which cited "possible malfeasance" in the district's selection of an inspector general, an office set up to police allegations of waste and mismanagement in the construction program. That report led the district's board of trustees to call on Greuel to review the process.

By far, the best deconstruction of the Valley Greuel's latest publicity exercise is done by Ron Kaye.

The creative talents of  Mayor Antonio Villar's Summer Night Lights staff
KCAL Channel 9 report on SNL staff member rap video regarding the production of crack cocaine.

If you ever wonder what  type of role models at-risk children at the 32 SNL sites are exposed to, KCAL Channel 9's Dave Bryan has this video report. Many of you in the cybersphere will be shock at the supposed lack of screening of SNL employees upon viewing this report. But in reality, many of the front line gang interventionists come from a prior background that included partaking in dubious neighborhood enterprises.

Previously here at Mayor Sam, we have noted about one person working in Mayor Villar's GRYD Program who claim to be a changed person in  public (or on public radio town halls). But in reality had posted videos (then remove them) that raise concerns about his fitness for working with youth.

Tony Castro: Was a reconfigure CD 9 tailor made for a former CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar Chief of Staff Ana Cubas City Council candidacy?
Former CD 14 register voter now CD 9 City Council Candidate Ana Cubas.

We find it refreshing that Journalist Tony Castro is back musing on the local political landscape.Castro's latest missive on the racial maneuverings in the upcoming CD 9 election proceedings to replace termed out City Councilwoman Jan Perry is thought provoking, especially in exposing the self-preservation motives of City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson. An excerpt.
The tradeoff for Wesson, a longtime political ally of the mayor who succeeded Villaraigosa as assembly speaker, was getting the mostly affluent and middle class black communities of Baldwin Hills and Leimert Park placed in his district along with Koreatown, much to the chagrin of Korean Americans

Has or will "Mini Amin" Wesson ever answer for selling out his African-American brethren?

Some contrary thoughts on Anahuak Soccer Strongman Raul Macias
Anahuak Soccer Strongman Raul Macias (third from right) and his political friends.

As Raul Macias Anahuak Soccer Organization evolves from a simple futbal club into a political machine (provoking  consternation from longtime political activists), his community activities are garnering more attention from local media. KCET in recent days, is the latest local media entity to spotlight the workings of Macias. But more thought provoking is this comment posted which speculates on the inner workings of Anahuak.
When you first get to Anahuak you feel welcomed, then you feel like your part of something bigger then you could have ever imagined. After a while you start seeing how things really work, It's a sweat shop! Raul was a successful business man and knew how to get people to work more then they had to with out pay. The only difference between his company and ANAHUAK the sweat shop is that at ANAHUAK the sweat shop didn't have to actually pay everyone. Yes it is true when Anahuak the sweat shop first started it was about the kids but then it became about all the money you can take without anyone finding out. Don't forget to thank those who fought for Rio De Los Angeles State Park from the start not at the end with benefits. Have you seen Anahuaks tax forms on the internet, funny how they claim no cash money but do claim close to half a million dollars in sponsorships. It only take $284,000 dollars to run ANAHUAK, That includes employees, field permits, office, bills, supplies and trophies. The rest of the money not accounted for is money that is to pay the referee, every players registration fee and uniforms for all the teams. Here's the scam if your paying attention, after a while Raul found out that it was easy to trick the coaches into believing he was keeping a close eye on the referees. He asked them to start making their referee fees cash at the office along with any comment, report on a referee or opposing coaches. One of the grants is to pay for the referees but Raul still charges cash money at the office for the same thing. Every August 1st Every player has to pay registration fees again at $45.00 per player when cal-south only charges $22.50 per player. What happens to the other $22.50 per player? By the way Raul also gets a grant to pay for the players registration. The rest of the money goes to pay for the uniforms for all the teams at ANAHUAK but that has never happen. If you ask Score and Soccer Store if Raul has ever payed for uniforms they will tell you the coaches pay but Raul has a special account with these two uniform stores that gives coaches a small discount, one more thing, the deal Raul has with the stores is that in order to get the discount the coaches have to use the ANAHUAK account along with a receipt which has ANAHUAK'S info on it and returned and mailed to the ANAHUAK office. Yes, Raul also gets a grant for uniforms. What happens to all that tax payer money? You should start asking Raul Macias real Questions. Don't forget to ask him why he close guards the by-laws and has never showed them to his coaches even after they have asked to see them. Also ask him why Francisco ( PACO ) Serrano gets payed over $50,000 cash and is not found on the tax forms. Why is Francisco ( PACO ) Serrano's wife the TREASURER and also gets paid over $25,000 cash per year these are the real questions someone has to ask. Ask him how he stole the wife of one of his biggest supporters and original coaches who was there fighting along side of Raul Macias the self proclaimed "DON"... The IRS needs to take a walk through ANAHUAK and find the Mexican bank accounts. The children who play at ANAHUAK are being used!

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

Mayor Antonio Villar at Summer Night Lights.

This was so sad, ......but tragically predictable.

The Daily News reported last evening that two seasonal employees of the GRYD's Summer Night Lights Program were wounded in a gang-related shooting at Sun Valley Recreation Center last Thursday. Both are expected to survivie.

First, one must ask the Mayor's Office and LAPD why five days past before information of the shooting were made public. Its understandable that a certain level of privacy be accorded the victims of the shooting (especially when a minor is involved). But privacy concerns must also be weigh against the public right to information.

Second, will this shooting cause GYRD officials to augment security at all SNL sites? Each SNL sites have budgeted money set aside to hire four community-based security guards ( "members of the community with standing") Most SNL sites have low visibility when it comes to LAPD or GSP resources at the request of community members, will this change in light of the Sun Valley Recreation Center shooting?

We should note that in North Hollywood last evening, a fifteen year old male was killed in a gang-related shooting. City officials are going to have to come to the realization that prison realignment, along with SB 109 are creating a potent brew that has initiated an upswing in gang-related violent crimes in the City of Los Angeles.

** OTHER NEWS:

** What is it about a fugitive on the run who takes time to put on a mask and consents to an interview wit a former fishwrap of record? Well that was former Coliseum Contractor Tony Estrada who did just that for the LA Times and pleaded that he was a whistle blower regarding the illegal dealings at the the historic stadium.

** A quick "Oh Mario y Maribel" Update. Despite the dubious efforts of former City of San Fernando City Councilman Mario Hernandez's "Inner Tonto", The District Attorney Office is moving forward with its case against City Councilwoman Maribel "Sancha" De La Torre.

** LAFD will in panel a task force to deal with the issue of its much-criticise response times. But another possible LAFD controversy looming on the political horizon has to do with inspections, or lack of inspections of certain public facilities.

** As soon to be former DONE General Manager and CD 13 City Council Candidate Bong H. Kim, preps for his new professional gig down the I-5 Freeway in San Diego, some among the NC masses will miss the opportunity to discuss DONE issues with B.H. in "certain public facilities" (the "John").

2012 Summer Night Lights commences at 7 P.M. Tonight

Mayor Antonio Villar with SNL patronts
Tonight at 7 P.M,. kicks off "SNL Season 2012" which will be the last Connie Rice, Councilman Eric Garcetti created after-hours programming taken credit for by Mayor Antonio Villar.
Lauded as a crime reducer in At-risk Neighborhoods (by offering homies work for peace), SNL Season 2012 comes at a sensitive time for many At-risk Communities state-wide as thousands of supposed "Non Violent, Non Revocable Paroles" are being set free.
Violent up swings in gang-related crimes in areas with SNL programs (Glassel Park, Highland Park, South LA, Wilmington, Boyle Heights) will surely test GRYD and LAPD resources this summer.
Last year, three SNL participants were injured in gang-related shootings. This summer with the thousands of prisoners roaming their former hoods, the potential for more bloodshed is at an acute level.

A Mayor Villar Photo Op to Promote Summer Nigh Lights and share more childhood tales

Mayor Antonio Villar, City Councilman Eric Garcetti, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, Civil Rights Attorney Connie Rice  and many others were on hand at Ramona Garden Recreation Center to tout the reduce crime rates and gang violence in areas (** nothing was mentioned about the increase numbers of shooting victims at SNL venues in 2011) that hosted the "Connie Rice idea that Eric Garcetti build upon that Mayor Villar take credit for as Summer Night Lights". ** We should note that Mayor Villar revealed another childhood secret at the presser, more on that further down. All photo by Francisco Polk
CD 13 City Councilman Eric Garcetti takes his time at the microphone. Among the standing in this photo is HACLA Resident Services Director Sanford Riggs who received $25,000+ in bonus money in 2010 and 2011  total To right of lady in black and white shirt. Noted in his absence was CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar who was close to the connected non-profit Legacy LA .
Ramona Gardens SNL worker and all around good guy Jesse Monarrez-Ortiz speaks while mayor Villar bows his head and reflects back to the time when he was supposedly "jump" by some of "Hazards finest young men". The mayor took the time to reminisce about his younger days across the freeway and his adventures through the neighborhood.
Mayor Villar answers questions from Telemundo reporter.
"The Hazard homies came at me from both sides. I thought about running, but I was born to raise hell. Que no"?

GRYD Program Deputy Mayor Cespedes "tosses softballs" with LA Times Jim Newton

"General Secretary of Gang Suppression Guillermo Cespedes at the microphone".
Disclaimer: Please note that in the recent past, the Los Angeles Times was bestowed the moniker "LA Antonio Times" for its shameless promotion of City Terrace native Antonio Ramon Villar. From the time of his Parke Skelton crafted political rehabilitation as the fleeting rep of CD 14 to his election as the mayoral ethical savior of the City of Los Angeles in 2005, the editors at the "former paper of record" compromise objective reporting by penning flowing PR pronouncements on the legislated agenda of the rising Latino Politico Rock Star, only to see his star power diminish forever due to a Telebimbo and unethical narcissism. Now "LA Antonio Times" roving editor Jim Newton continues his self-revival of that past subjective journalistic era with his latest column on Mayor Villar's GRYD Program. Join us in this latest bloggin deconstruction of yet another public relations puff piece from the "former fishwrap of record"---Scott Johnson.

SNL: Bush Endorses McCain/Palin Ticket!

h/t to Crooks & Liars.

In other news... According to BlogNet, the Mayor Sam Blog is now the #2 most influential liberal blog in California (up from #3 last week)! Who woulda thunk it?

-In Arizona, McCain's home state, Obama has a slight lead in early voter polling (1 point with MOE +/-4), and is just 4 points away from catching McCain according to Daily Kos.

-CC Goldwater, the granddaughter of Republican icon Barry Goldwater is following her late granddad's philosophy and casting her vote for Obama. You can read her reasons why over at the Huffington Post.

-CNN reports that there's big trouble in the McCain/Palin camp as Palin is "going rogue"! Oh my, what else can go wrong?

And...

Jim Alger creates an online ad for Obama!

Nice work Jim! Very impressive narration job!
