** Blogger's Notes: Tomorrow's first mass gathering of Qualified Candidates seeking to replace the, NOW 434th-ranking Congressman Jimmy Gomez, is a GREAT opportunity to make cyber notes on the 2017 51st AD Special Election Scorecard. Briefly, the early election handicapping has second-time 51st AD Home Grown Candidate Luis Lopez in the Top-Two-Tier, with the rest of the field fighting among themselves to place second on October 3 ......., and move on to a December 5 Runoff. We will provide an in-depth Handicapping of the Candidates after tomorrow's gathering-----Scott Johnson.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Poitical Machine for Tuesday

We bring you a pre-Easter Political Gathering of two noted City Hall antagonists with upward ambitions featuring an "Tepid White Rhodes Scholar" and his potential "Dear Charrro, Princeton Graduate" 2017 Mayoral Challenger.
From CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar's Facebook Page.
From the Facebook Page of Mayor Eric Garcetti (can you find the difference between the two like photos?).
Great post Spring Break to all as we return to the bloggin keyboard after a work-related break.
Just in time for Good Friday last week, two past political antagonists came together briefly (apparently without cutting the bread) to tour places of interest within the fiefdom of re-elected CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar.
The self-noting Princeton Graduate, hosted Mayor Eric Garcetti in his fourteenth stop on a city-wide tour which included taking in the view from the top of the Ascot Hills Passive Park.
We note with a chuckle (or two, three and four plus) the subtle difference between the "authentic" photo via the Mayor Garcetti Facebook Page and the "altered" version via the Councilman Huizar's Facebook Page, which obviously "Photo shopped" a balding feature on the now, termed-out Councilman.
Councilman Huizar honors the "Disempowering Loyalty" of the LA-32 Neighborhood Council
Councilman Huizar among the mostly loyal LA-32 NC Board Members.
Councilman Huizar made time to reward his mostly loyal underlings that now comprise the LA-32 Neighborhood Council. With the enabling of "Disempowerment LA" General Manager Grayce Liu (and staff), the once independent body has now become a rubber stamp appendix for the re-elected Councilman's political needs.

Highland Park Community Members question LAPD Officers, along with CD 1 and CD 14 Staff about escalating Gang Violence. (Photo by Nathan Solis of Eastsider LA).
Both CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo and CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar send staff members to a Special Meeting of the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council which focused on the spike of gang-related violent crime within the community. A crowded room of concern community members had assorted questions for the assembled LAPD and council staff in attendance.

Outtakes from CD-14 Special Report: Region 8 NC Elections Saturday

Today is Election Day for all CD-14 NC's outside of Downtown LA
Will NC elections serve as a barometer of the "Princeton Graduate, Dear Charro" City Councilman's influence, as we near the mid-way point of his second full term?
But there is no questioning the fact that current CD 14 staff will be out and about today, observing and ensuring, that the "right candidates" are getting the right amount of voting resources (via the promises of turkey vouchers, Christmas toys and maybe, some CLARTS love).

Yet, today's exercise in advisory democracy, has generated some headlines, that may have future repercussions on such issues as the future of the Southwest Museum, Medical Marijuana, unregulated charter schools, and CBO-led gentrification of a historical community. Below we briefly review each of today's elections and post a link to polling locations. Remember, you too can take part in advisory democracy by merely exercising local commerce in the NC of choice.

:Eagle Rock Neighborhood Council:
The ERNC Election is ground zero for the backlash against the failed Medical Marijuana Ban authored by Councilman Huizar. By the time the polling place at the old Eagle Rock City Hall closes this afternoon, its a 50/50 chance that the ERNC could go to weed, especially if their union allies get out the vote.** This blogger endorses Robert Guevara for President of the ERNC.

Highland Park Neighborhood Council:
The Highland Park Patch has done their civic duty by fostering a mostly positive dialog among the candidates. But some activist are leery of local Soccer Strongman Raul Macias getting elected to the board.

Arroyo Seco Neighborhood Council:
This election boils down to the ASNC preservationists vs. the Hermon breakaway faction led by Joseph Riser (and allegedly supported by Councilman Huizar). Recently, DONE remove the ASNC from "Exhausted Measures" status, after what some are calling a "white-wash investigation" of questionable expenditures by Hermon activist Mark Legassie.

LA-32 Neighborhood Council:
This year's edition of the LA-32 elections features a crowded At-Large candidate bracket that features 13 hopefuls for 5 seats. Some of the candidates include Tammy Membreno, Anthony Manzano, Edward Santillan, Jose Aguilar and Hecho En Mexico Eatery Co-owner Connie Castro.

Boyle Heights Neighborhood Council:
Its CBO get out the vote day as the likes of Inner City Struggle, ELACC, El Centro de Ayudo, Youth Opportunity Movement, Wolfpack Football, Girls Today, Woman Tomorrow and other fledging CBOs, work with the likes of the "Huizzy Girls" (Mago Amador with the Del Pozo ladies) to continue the Banana Republic ways of the BHNC.

Morning Briefs and Outtakes on the Legality of Residency and other News

" City Councilman Richard "Zorro Marxist" Alarcon laughs at residency laws??"

The "Proletariat Class" of City Councilman Richard "the Zorro Marxist" Alarcon's 7th District have been betrayed!!
Their comrade who claimed to live within the collectivist, working class enclave he presides over, is under investigation by the District Attorney's Office of Public Integrity, for allegedly residing at his wife's "Dacha", which is located in City Councilman Paul Krekorian's 2nd District.
This is not the first time that Alarcon's residency has garnered scrutiny.
In 2007, Alarcon attempted to get his wife's "Dacha" and about 200 other homes moved into his 7th District collectivist enclave, but was rebutted. The "Zorro Marxist" and his "life partner"/wife Montes de Oca then were also expose for the "crime against the people" of wanting to build elitist "Dachas" on their "Nordhoff People's Avenue" land parcel.
Worst, the "Zorro Marxist" attempted to get the "Nordhoff People's Avenue" reclassify from a "busy people's highway designation" to a quiet "collectivist collector street", a move that would have spared Montes de Oca from having to forfeit 2,840 square feet of her lot to the "people land bank"/city, A CRIME AGAINST THE COLLECTIVE INDEED!!
Maybe its time for the Proletariat in the 7th District, to rise up and purge the "Zorro Marxist" and send him off to some "re education gulag" of ethical reform?
OTHER NEWS:
** The Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council, who have become an dysfunctional mess within the last few months according to local sources, is now facing new scrutiny for their lavish expenses. In an audit of neighborhood council expenditures by City Controller Wendy Greuel, the CD 1 "fun bunch" has amassed $12,000 in restaurant bills, $8,000 in cash withdrawals and $300 on laundry among other questionable expenditures.
** City Councilman Jose Huizar is starting off the New Year by transferring $50,000 from the "CLARTS Fund" for undisclosed use. What and how this fund is use, as we head towards the next election cycle in CD 14, should be open and transparent to all. (Council Motion 09-0326 S1 CD 14).
** LAPD Chief Charlie Beck dispelled the notion that LA's gangbangers are getting "too old to bang".
** Assemblyman Kevin De Leon and State Senator Gil Cedillo are in agreement on a deal to swap titles, pending voter approval of course.
** Robert "Bud" Ovrom was confirmed as the new General Manager of the Department of Building and Safety by the City Council.
