"Westside Business White Guy" blasts "The Pandering Villar Greuel"

West LA Observed's "Westside Business White Guy" Mark Lacter unloads on the pandering "Villar Greuel".
Will attacks from the like of "Westside Business White Guy" Marl Lacter help put the Villar Greuel Campaign out of business?

Memo to the "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant of the City Controller Wendy "The Villar Greuel Campaign John Shallman, you have some big time trouble brewing in West LA. The West LA Observed Business Blogger Marl Lacter, posted this missive, that speaks non-too-kindly of your pandering, stooge candidate of the Mayor Antonio Villar Political Machine. This is hilarious coming from one of the "WWGs", at the "Observing West LA Blog of Record".

L.A.'s City Controller continues to be the most disappointing candidate in the mayor's race. In desperately seeking the support of public unions, she is exhibiting zero backbone or vision - just obnoxious brown-nosing. Here she is taking shots at City Councilman Eric Garcetti during a closed-door meeting of union workers (as reported by the LAT's Dave Zahniser:)

Regarding her ceaseless pandering to SEIU 721.

First off, what is she and Garcetti doing at a closed-door anything? Didn't she learn from Mitt Romney's 47 percent fiasco that voters aren't that thrilled at candidates trying to curry favor in private, especially when the audience has such a large stake in the race? (Jan Perry should be pooling her nickels for 30-second spots on the back-room shenanigans.) And that bit about layoffs - it's disingenuous bullshit. Truth is, the Council almost never lays people off. Elimination of vacant positions - yes. But it's extremely rare that an L.A. city worker doesn't have an opportunity to be transferred to another department. That's one of the dirty little secrets about how the city is run. So let's cut the sanctimonious crap about walking the walk, shall we? By contrast, Garcetti was positively statesmanlike in laying out the city's fiscal troubles - much of which are the result of out-of-control pension and health care costs. (By the way, the union didn't even bother inviting the three other candidates.) Now it's true that both candidates really need labor support in the March election. The question is at what cost - not only to the rest of their base of support, but to their integrity. This race is making me nauseous.

Could the Villar Greuel lose West LA? More later ..............

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes wading through increase flow of 7-Eleven beer and wine sales in his district.
We bring you the morning hypocrisy of CD 1 City Councilman Ed "Density" Reyes regarding proposed Wal Mart Neighborhood Market in Chinatown. From a keen political observer.
Something does not pass the smell test. Last PM. on local TV news reporters interviewed CD Councilman Reyes. Reyes stated that he was upset over the fact that a Wal-Mart store was going to open up on Cesar Chavez and Grand Avenue in Chinatown.  Reyes stated that do to the fact that there was school near by this store would post both a traffic hazard and also a public safety issue for the immediate surrounding community.    Now I ask you . Remember that Reyes did not give a damn when he encouraged the opening of the 7-Eleven store in Lincoln Heights on Mission  which sold both alcohol and cigarettes. (** Slight correction, 7 Eleven store on Broadway and Eastlake sells alcohol and cigarettes. Mission location will file for the right to sell beer and wine soon). Where was Reyes' concern for the school age children, residents and public safety concerns for those who reside and work in  Lincoln Heights?

Some where, American Veteran and former Lincoln Heights Donut Shop Owner Ben Lee is shaking his head at the hypocrisy of a councilman who values increase corporate beer and wine sale over small businesses operated by immigrant American veterans.

** LA Observed "Westside Business White Guy" (WBWG) Mark Lacter gets it when it comes to the multiple national media "scribegasms" over the supposed political rehabilitation of Mayor Antonio Villar. What has Mayor Villar done to deserve all these media scribegasms? Ron Kaye also sees through the facade of a political rehabilitated Mayor Villar with the myth of "Antonio the Great".

** Ron Kaye also chimes in on the LAPD Chief Charlie Beck pandering crusade for a second term as chief by championing driver licenses for the undocumented. Something tells me that a certain park near Alvarado and Wilshire will be the designation of choice for those seeking the right (fake) documentation

** The sun rises in the east and another LAUSD employee is arrested for having sex with a student. Will this seventh arrest in recent days, become "Breaking News" or a normal daily feature of LAUSD's Channel 58?.

Mid-Day Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

Blogger Notes: If LA Weekly's Gene Maddaus ever decided to walk away from his stellar career as a writer, we recommend that he pursuit teaching twelve-grade government. This in light of his latest missive which incorporate Venn diagrams to chronicle the convoluted saga of redistricting at the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. While we may cringe at the thought of County Supervisor Sheila "Zelda" Kuehl (but someone must represent the environmental demographics) or the bemoan the leftward shift if Hilda Solis were to become part of the "Gang of Five", we give Maddaus props for his efforts to stimulate political dialog through visuals---Scott Johnson.
Your current Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

The Supervisor Gloria Molina Plan would say adios to Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky's District with Alex Padilla and Hilda Solis possibly replacing termed out Molina and Yaroslavsky.

The Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas Plan would do away with Supervisor Don Knabe's District.
........ and the Status Quo with Zelda replacing Zev.
More news after the jump.
