Lincoln Heights UNITED Against CD-1 Clowncilman Broken Deal Cedillo's (and Mayor Garcetti's) Housing Scheme

A capacity-plus crowd at last Thursday's (1-18-18) monthly meeting of the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council, expressed UNITY IN OPPOSITION to CD-1 City Clowncilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo's (and Mayor Eric "Yoga Pants" Garcetti's) SCHEME to scandalously-misuse Measure HHH Bond Money, for non Homeless-related Services/Housing, on a proposed FIVE (Parking) Lots Development in Lincoln Heights.
CD1 City Clowncilman Broken Deal Cedillo: "Hey Gabacho Mayor Yoga Pants, how much Measure HHH Bond Money can I MISAPPROPRIATE (notice rising hand) for non Homeless Housing/Services in Lincoln Heights"?
** Blogger's Notes: A Ciudad de Los Angeles Political Promises Flashback ............., in 2006, Angelinos had just elected a "Pop Star Mayor (who later was bestowed the dubious distinction of being a "Failure Mayor", but I digress)", who PROMISED to add 1,000 more LAPD Officers, in return for raising your Trash Fees ........ and the reality?
“We understand that homelessness in L.A. will not be solved overnight,” he said. “But by passing Proposition HHH, the people of this city put us on a real path to getting thousands of our most vulnerable residents off the streets and into housing for good.

........, and the reality? View the Videos below from last Thursday's Meeting of the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council where a Scandal was exposed ........., and OPPOSED by Lincoln Heights Community.

As witnessed by a capacity-plus audience, Mayor Garcetti's Measure HHH Facade would adversely affect the Lincoln Heights Business Community via the removal of FIVE Public Parking Lots, that would be replace with "Mixed-Housing (notice non-mention of any type of Homeless Housing or Services), as noted local Journalist Patrick Range McDonald reported;

City officials are currently sorting through the proposals for projects that will make up the AHOS program. With complete certainty, permanent supportive housing will not be built at every city-owned property — five sites in Lincoln Heights, which is represented by Councilman Gil Cedillo, have already been designated for “mixed-income” housing. As a result, the city’s use of Measure HHH money for the AHOS program will not go entirely to homeless housing, and homeless men, women, and children will not receive the full amount of housing and services that Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City Council had promised. Instead, an affluent professional, the only person who can afford market-rate housing in L.A., may land a nice pad on city-owned property in increasingly gentrified Lincoln Heights or near the beach on the Westside. It’s the very definition of a scandal.

Mayor Sam Exclusive: "Liar, Liar, Broken Deal Cedillo's Pants on Fire (the 2018 Sequel)".

COMMUNITY ACTION ALERT!! The re-elected CD-1 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Gil "BROKEN DEAL CEDILLO" is reneging on his previous pledge (again) to, NOT place FIVE Homeless Housing Developments in Lincoln Heights (soon to be "Skid Row Northeast"), prompting a communal Backlash.
CD-1 Clowncilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" scheming (AGAIN) to to Lincoln Heights into "Skid Row Northeast".
** Blogger's Notes: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we have learned that CD-1 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" is reneging on a pledge to remove from consideration, the use of FIVE city-owned Parking Lots in Lincoln Heights, for Homeless Supportive Housing Developments as provided for in Measure HHH. The Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council in a flyer pictured below, has taken the re-elected Clowncil Member to task for REMOVING THE HOLD on developing the Parking Lots during the Christmas/New Year Holidays period, WITHOUT community input. Further, we have been made aware of comments via Clowncilman Broken Deal Cedillo Chief of Staff Arturo Chavez that the proposed Developments where a DONE DEAL (regardless of community concerns). With respects to Chief of Staff Chavez and his Deal-breaking Boss, they may want to revisit local history (think BATTLE against the Boyle Heights Prison), to comprehend how the ramifications his dismissal of communal input (while taking care of MEGA Trump Donor Geoff Palmer) ........., EMPOWERS constituents to demand respect and justice from their DEAL BREAKING Officeholder-----Scott Johnson.
SUPPORT the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council in holding "Broken Deal Cedillo" accountable for his repeated DISDAIN for Openness and Community Imput.
Did Clowncilman Broken Deal Cedillo Chief of Staff Arturo Chavez state that the proposed "Skid Row Northeast Developments" were a Done Deal (without community input)?

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Councilman Cedillo's Bridewell Armory Emergency Shelter Scam

In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we disclose the SCAM that was CD 1 City Councilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo's" (and Council-approved) Bridewell Armory Winter Emergency Shelter Motion, as a potentially, strong series of Storms targets Southern California ........, with adverse impacts on Northeast LA's Homeless (and General) Population.
Another Broken Deal Cedillo Episode, with potentially adverse Public Safety connotations..
The still-shuddered CD-14 Bridewell Armory.
** Blogger's Notes: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we disclose the SCAM that was the supposed, CD 1 City Councilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo's" approved Motion that would have directed the City of Los Angeles Recreation & Parks Department (along with other pertinent city agencies) to make the CD-14-located Bridewell Armory available as an Emergency Winter Shelter. As the photos below document, the longtime shuddered (with supposed plans to become a Non-Profit Arts Center), does not look ready (as directed) for any type (including Emergency) usage ........., with a POTENT Winter Storm taking aim at Southern California on Friday. The incoming storm is bound to impact all segments of the populations, especially the Homeless who live near the Northeast LA Arroyo Seco Waterway, which will swell full of runoff from the saturated San Gabriel Mountains. Its inexcusable (and politically contemptible if a certain CD-14 Officeholder is obstructing, again) that a City Council-approved Motion/Directive (with serious Public Safety ramifications) has not been implemented .........., and for what reasons? That is the responsibility of the Motion's "Author (aka. Broken Deal Cedillo) to explain to discerning/pending voters----Scott Johnson.

Mayor Garcetti (joins Mayor Sam) on "Storm Parade Watch, 2016"

We are glad to announce the addition of Mayor Eric Garcetti to our Mayor Sam's "Storm Parade Watch, 2016" bloggin coverage ........., as the City Clowncil Central Committee remains on its Winter Hibernation/Recess until January 12, 2016.
Mayor Garcetti speaking to assembled Media Sunday Night.
** Blogger's Note: Great first Monday of 2016 to everyone as we endeavor to bring you the best in local political reporting (mixed with our patented humor-based, sardonic commentary) in the year ahead. We begin this first work week of the New Year, in pronouncing our "standing on common ground" with Second Term-seeking Mayor Eric Garcetti, in regards to exploiting a potential "Natural Emergency" for greater exposure.  While our bloggin desire is merely rooted in reaching a large audience with factually-based information (that in the case of our "Storm Parade Watch" coverage, will hopefully preserve lives), the ramifications for the Rhodes Scholar/Naval Reservist can make the difference in reassuring Angelinos of his fitness for a Mayoral Second Term, marketing himself to a wider audience beyond the City of LA's boundaries ........., or reinforcing the whispers of discerning critics about the Mayor's noted "Gar-Soft-ee Persona", that abhors decisive, decision making. But in the bloggin short term, the tech-savvy Officeholder is doing his best to marriage visual presentations via the local media, with the various Social Media mediums. in offering regular updates on the looming first in a series of "Storm Parades". Yet, we should remind Mayor Garcetti that the power of TV and Social Media, is lacking within the growing Homeless Shantytowns ........., and especially in those within the potentially deadly waterways, the old method of "foot warning" those in harm's way, may be the best social medium in preserving lives-----Scott Johnson.

Its Getaway Friday 2015 while Emergency Homeless Shelters are Lacking as EL Nino Nears

Its a Public Sector Getaway Friday 2015 as entities exampled by the Los Angeles City Council Central Committee goes on its annual Christmas/New Year Hiatus ........., while a potential Killer El Nino takes aim on shelter-lacking Homeless Population.
The meters are running for a Getaway Friday.
Hazard Park Armory.

** Blogger's Note: Its time again for the most anticipated Getaway Friday on the yearly Public Sector Calendar as bureaucrats and politicos switch into slumber/hiatus mode for the Christmas/New Year Holiday Season. For the next two weeks, with many workers, staffers and elected officials taking time away with families, the various offices will operate with skeleton staffs.

But with latest weather forecasts showing a potential, first major El Nino-influenced Storm targeting Southern California for Christmas, first-responders may be beginning an extended period of life-threatening work that is surely to included numerous responses to emergency calls dealing with LA's increased Homeless population.

Many longtime political observers will surely remember the 2004/2005 Record-breaking Rainy Season, where a then, yellow jacket-donning Mayor James Hahn, went from one storm damage location to the next, while being shadowed by challenger Antonio Villar, as they engaged in a form of "Storm Response Politics".

Now ten years later, Mayor Eric Garcetti and the City Council are heading into the Holiday Hiatus without a concrete plan that offers the needed shelter for a vulnerable Homeless Population, just when the much-anticipated El Nino Winter is set to commence.

CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo is to be commended for securing support of his colleagues to reopen the shuttered Bridewell Armory in Highland Park as a emergency shelter, but with thousands of newly-created Homeless (thanks in part to the AB-109 and Prop 47 Legislated Debacles),, creating encampments placed in areas of danger (hillsides and water was), more space is needed.

One location worthy of immediate review is the Hazard Park Armory which currently houses Rec & Parks Staff and the Connected Non-Profit Legacy LA. Located in Councilman Jose Huizar's CD 14, the location, like the Bridewell location, is awaiting much-needed infrastructure rehabilitation (funded in part with a $925,000 allocation via former Supervisor Gloria Molina), but can provided needed space ........., if Councilman Huizar is willing to support a emergency shelter within his Council District----Scott Johnson.

Councilman Cedillo's Motion to use Bridewell Armory as Emergency Homeless Shelter is Approved by Council

CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo takes decisive actions in mitigating the Northeast LA Homeless Issue, including winning support for his (Mayor Sam-inspired) Motion to open immediately the Bridewell Armory as an Emergency Shelter (with some help from CD 14 Councilman Huizar).
CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo should be proud of his leadership in opening the Bridewell Armory as an Emergency Homeless Shelter.

** Blogger's Note: Let it be documented that on December 16, 2015, CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo took decisive action to mitigate (partly) issues pertaining to the operation and funding (with a kind contribution from CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar) of the Highland Park All Saints Church Homeless Shelter on Monte Vista ........., but further, his City Council Colleagues supported and approved his Motion to order the Recreation and Parks Department to immediately make the Bridewell Armory available as a Emergency Homeless Shelter. From the Office of Councilman Cedillo (with Bridewell Armory Motion posted below).

We have good news to report. Thanks to our advocacy, LAHSA has agreed to work with our office to approve All Saints Episcopal Church as a winter shelter. After receiving this news, I immediately introduced a motion to place the site on the winter shelter list, securing protections under the shelter crisis. This will allow them to access LAHSA funds and operate through the winter season. It was approved by Council today. I'd like to thank my colleague Councilmember Jose Huizar for graciously donating $20,000 from his discretionary funds to help the shelter continue its work. The City Council also approved a motion I authored, which asks the Department of Recreation and Parks to immediately open the Bridewell Armory as a winter shelter.

CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar.

Councilman Jose Huizar made the following statement regarding his support of the CD 1 located All Saints Shelter.

Voted today to provide $20k in ‪#‎CD14‬ emergency funding immediately to support Recycled Resources for the Homeless important work serving the‪#‎homeless‬ community in ‪#‎NELA‬. I'm happy to support this more than worthy group seeking to address homelessness in our City. (Notice no mention of Bridewell Armory support).

In lieu of today's Councilman Cedillo-led City Council approved, emergency opening of the Bridewell Armory, we call upon Councilman Cedillo and Councilman Huizar, to make portions of the Hazard Park Armory available to house the increased Homeless Population in ......., and around the Hazard Park connected communities of Lincoln Heights, LA-32 and Boyle Heights-----Scott Johnson.

Playing Payback (and with lives) Politics regarding the Homeless Crisis in Northeast LA?

Are supporters of CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar using the Homeless Issue against CD 1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo, in a game of Payback Politics, while the CD 14-located Bridewell Armory sits vacant after years of empty promises?
