The Swift Boating of Obama or Clinton's Willie Horton Effort

How dirty do the Clintons get?

Sen. Hillary Clinton today broke her silence on the issue of Barack Obama's church and told a newspaper in Pennsylvania that Rev. Jeremiah Wright "would not have been my pastor."

In the meantime yet another Clinton lie when Mrs. Clinton had to backpedal on earlier claims she mad about being shot at on a visit to Bosnia in 1996. No less a political expert than hack 80s comic Sinbad had to be consulted to get the straight story.

Obama's pastor certainly made troubling statements; being of the same denomination and faith as the Illinois Senator I can tell we are told to take what we want and leave the rest. And its offensive that the Clintons and their supporters would paint our church as some type of anti-American faith.

Barabra Bush Was Right, Ferraro Is A Bitch

Barbara Bush once said of Geraldine Ferraro, "I can’t say it, but it rhymes with rich." The Second Lady later apologized, but she was probably right.

Today the old, haggard, washed up Democrat probably proved the Silver Fox right.

(For those of you young kids who are too young to remember, Geraldine Ferraro was the first and last woman to be on a major party national ticket, serving as the running mate for the 1984 Democratic nominee, Walter Mondale)

Speaking to the Daily Breeze, Mrs. Zaccaro said "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

What a crock of shit.

I don't talk ,much about the old, dead Republican Mayor's liberal wayward, liberal Democratic youth. Winston Churchill said, "Any 20 year-old who isn't a liberal doesn't have a heart, and any 40 year-old who isn't a conservative doesn't have a brain." He was pretty much right there. Anyway, indeed I worked on the Mondale-Ferraro Campaign in 1984 as a twenty year old volunteer for "Youth for Mondale" (I think there were three of us at the time.)

Though as wild-eyed, young liberals we were excited at the prospect of a woman actually becoming Vice President of the United States. Though we had to gloss over the fact that as a three term member of the House of Representatives Ferraro was hardly qualified.

As noted by Time Magazine in 1984:

"Gerri passes all the tests," says Congresswoman Barbara Kennelly, a Connecticut Democrat. "She is photogenic, she is bright, she has worked, she has brought up children, she is the right age." But is she qualified to be Vice President? Ferraro is the first to admit that she is being considered mainly because of her gender, not her qualifications.

And hence, the crock of shit. Geraldine Ferraro was chosen as a Vice Presidential nominee simply because she had a vagina (assuming she still does). She had not run in any primaries, no one had ever heard of her, she had nothing to distinguish her. Walter Mondale decided if he had any chance of beating Ronald Reagan he had to pick a woman. Old drunken, blowhard, bloated House Speaker Tip O'Neill suggested Ferraro.

Let's compare Gerry's record to Barack Obama's: Prior to being selected as Mondale's running mate, Ferraro has served six years in the House of Representatives. Prior to that, she was an attorney and second grade teacher. Obama on the other hand has been a US Senator for four years, was a State Senator for seven years, worked in the corporate world, was a public interest attorney, a law professor and was President of the Harvard Law Review.

Does Hillary Clinton really want someone who is apparently so old and out of it she makes dumb, racist comments as part of her campaign? Apparently she does. I would think the Clintons would not want the stink of Mondale-Ferraro on them but I guess not.

Is Mrs. Clinton's approval of Ferraro an indication of Clinton's own views? I am sure Democrats would like to know and know soon.

Ferraro's remarks and Mrs. Clinton's husband's activities during the South Carolina primaries are only but two examples of an insidious, racist element within the Clinton campaign that is attempting to discredit Obama. Adding insult to injury when asked to address rumors that Obama is a Muslim, Mrs. Clinton said that the rumors were not true "as far as she knows." So typical of the Clintons. As a member of the same denomination as Barack Obama, the United Church of Christ, I am personally offended by her remarks.

Though I can't support Barack Obama for President because of his political views (and that alone; I am quite tempted to vote for him), I am rooting for him to win the Democratic nomination, if only to finally send the Clintons to hell where they belong.
