The "Chief" vs. the "Motor Cop" over "Star Treatment"

Clash of the Egos!!

Even Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa knows where to position himself when the caustic combination of wit, ego and "Boston (BAA-STIN)** Speak" is on "full" from Chief Bill Bratton.

Witness this morning's remarks aimed at the "Motor Cop" turned "Spring Street Rino Councilman" Dennis Zine and his proposed paparazzi restrictions.

"I figured I'd come over and straighten out -- we have no intention of participating in today's hearing. It's a total waste of time. We have sufficent laws on the books that we enforce to deal with this issue," Bratton said, still sweaty from his workout and with a towel hanging around his neck.

"If you notice, since Brittany started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody, thank god; and, evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay (sorry Roderick, here are some pics), we don't seem to have much of an issue.

"If the ones that attract the paparazzi behave in the first place, like we expect of anybody, that solves about 90 percent of the problem. The rest of it we can deal with.

"So as far as all this grandstanding and foolishness, waste of city time on this issue -- and the fact that I felt aggravated enough about it to interrupt my workout to come over and set the record straight, LAPD has no intention of participating in this farce."

......and from the "Motor Cop", you can click here to see his response.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

Despite the protests of NIMBYs, the City of Beverly Hills has approved a developer's $500 million project to bring the Waldorf-Astoria to the former hometown of Jed Clampett. Opponents plan to gather enough signatures to put a referendum on the ballot to overturn the Council's decision.

Normally, you see stained concrete and dripping ooze when you stare out the windows at the tunnel walls of the Metro Red Line subway, but the MTA has an idea for the tunnels near the Universal City Station - project trailers for upcoming motion pictures on the walls that riders can watch as they speed 800 feet under the Santa Monicas at 70 miles an hour. The cash strapped agency estimates it will earn several hundred thousand dollars from the scheme. Still, we're sure that Jill Stewart or Observing Anglos in the distant Westside will have an issue with it.

I missed it and so did Franklin Avenue. An LA Times piece on former LA City Mayors that gives a hat tip not only to the old, dead Republican Mayor but to the Sister City itself.

Miley Cyrus is only 15 but she's sure she knows what 21 - 25 year olds go through. The Hannah Montana star said of bad girls Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, "Everyone has their time. And I think most 21- to 25-year-olds go through this kind of thing. Basically, they're being normal 21-year-olds, especially Lindsay (Lohan)."

"WESTSIDE WHITE GUY" in all his glory

First, I give you the prophetic words of Mayor Sam

"He likes to fill his blog with manic attacks on the LA Times, enthralling news such as the latest Lindsay Lohan (or other substance challenged starlet d'jour) arrest and lots of girly pictures. And when stories of local politicial shenanigans reach critical mass he will then go all out to ape the local blogs and even try to assume credit for the scoops - or at least not correct it when others give him the credit."

That flashback aside, who would be the first to highlight Lindsey Lohan's latest photo spread?? None other than that prude from Mar Vista Hill, "WWG"

And a spread it is, plenty of "girlie pics" that will raise the blood pressure among other risings.

Lets just say that Lindsey's "Lohans" are "front and center".

Then to cap off the afternoon for the "OBSERVING WEST L.A. LIFE AND HIS TIMES" guy. He brings you the latest editor to take a hike at the "OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET". One can hear the panting from Roderick on a day well done.
