Mayor Sam Exclusive: Liar, Liar!! CD-1 Broken Deal Cedillo's Integrity on Fire ........., Again

In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we expose again, an alleged "Act of Political Embellishment" via CD 1 City Councilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" regarding the proposed construction of Affordable/Transitional Housing on FIVE city-owned lots in Lincoln Heights.
CD 1 City Council Candidate Josef Bray-Ali (standing in suit on right side) counters the questionable assertions as presented by CD 1 Staffer Jose Rodriguez regarding Broken Deal Cedillo's HOLD on proposed Lincoln Heights Developments.
** Blogger's Notes: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we disclose, AGAIN another "Act of Political Embellishment" via Second Term-seeking CD 1 City Councilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo", regarding the proposed Affordable/Transitional Housing Developments on FIVE city-owned lots in Lincoln Heights.
In response to a growing Lincoln Heights Community BACKLASH, CD 1 Staffer Jose Rodriguez read a letter from his MIA Boss during the January 19, 2017 Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council Meeting, that feigned ignorance on the Developments ......, and allegedly, placed a "HOLD" on any construction, pending community input.
Yet, in a rebuttal response by CD-1 City Council Candidate Josef Bray-Ali ......., and substantiated via a October 10, 2016 LA Streetblog Story, its VERY apparent that "Broken Deal Cedillo" was well-verse on the status of the pending/approved Developments.
In a October 10, 2016 Press Conference, "Broken Deal Cedillo" spoke on behalf of the Coalition against the Neighborhood Integrity Initiative (ie. Measure S), that took place on one of the FIVE Lincoln Heights Lots that Staffer Rodriguez ALLEGES CD-1 did not know was/is is in process of being develop-----Scott Johnson.
From LA Streetblog on October 10, 2016: "The Lincoln Heights parking lot where the press event took place is one of a dozen city-owned sites currently in the early stages of development for affordable and transitional housing under the Affordable Housing Opportunity Sites initiative. Twelve city-owned sites (with FIVE) in Lincoln Heights, Sylmar, San Pedro, and South and West L.A. are slated for affordable housing, with an emphasis on transitional housing to serve the homeless",
From Broken Deal Cedillo Letter (below) to Lincoln Heights Neighorhood Council on January 19,2017: "I had serious concerns about the lack of any meaningful community outreach or efforts to solicit community input into the design of the project and developer selection process. As a result, on December 14, i introduce a Council Motion to remove the FIVE parking lots from consideration.
CD 1 City Councilman Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo's" Letter to the LHNC.

"Broken Deal Cedillo's" alleged Motion to remove the FIVE Lincoln Heights, city-owned lots from development consideration.

VICA and the Affordable Housing Scam

Day Street "Affordable Housing" in Tujunga
Construction cost of individual units higher than that of single family homes
"CEO" of non-profit makes more than a City Council member

This just came over the wire. The answer is no, no, no. We don't need any more affordable housing schemes which is a way that the "homeless-industrial" complex generates corporate welfare for developers, contributions for politicians and high paying six-figure jobs for non-profit "CEOs."

Y'all need to oppose this bill. What we need for affordable housing is to 1) stop the massive run-up of building more and more multi-family residential developments in communities that don't have the infrastructure for such, which lowers the inventory of single family homes and thus raises the cost of home ownership and 2) let the free market handle this, innovative developers and housing providers will address the need and we won't prop up "too big to fail" developers who can only turn a profit via government funding and intervention in the marketplace.

VICA used to be an organization for business, now it's a lobbying shill for politicians and those who make money by being cozy with politicians. I don't think they would know the free market if it jumped up and bit them.

CALIFORNIA HOMES AND JOBS ACT RELIEVES BUILDING INDUSTRY, HOUSING SHORTAGE

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.— The Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) supports the California Homes and Jobs Act of 2013, which tackles two issues important to the San Fernando Valley: a lagging construction industry and an affordable housing shortage.
The legislation enacts a $75 fee on real estate documents to generate roughly $500 million a year for a California Homes and Jobs Trust Fund, which will fund construction and administer affordable housing programs statewide.

VICA’s Board of Directors voted to support the act, with the recommendation that the bill cap the number of documents that can incur a fee per transaction. The board agreed that a $75 fee is a worthy investment for much-needed housing and jobs but the policy becomes onerous when an individual is smacked with hundreds of dollars in fees in one single transaction.

Affordable housing programs have been funded primarily through Propositions 46 in 2002 and 1C in 2006, but both funds have been exhausted. We need to replenish these funds in order to stir economic growth and find homes for the hundreds of thousands of struggling families on the affordable housing waiting lists in the City of Los Angeles and L.A. County.

“A strong economy relies on a healthy construction sector,” said VICA Chair, David Adelman. “It makes sense to fund already-successful housing programs, while stimulating the building industry.”

Obama The Slum Lord

Obama claims he cares about poor blacks, but a Boston Globe report exposed how for eight years Obama supported slum projects in Chicago.

Poor blacks living in rat and roach infested apartments condemned Obama for not caring about them.

Cynthia Ashley, a fourteen-year resident said: "No one should have to live like this, and no one did anything about it."

Anthony Frizzell a twenty-year resident said: "In the winter I can feel the cold air coming through the walls and the sockets."

Sharee Jones who has lived for years with the rats said: "You could hear them under the floor and in the walls, and they didn't do nothing about it."

Paul Johnson who helped organize a protest against Obama said: "Of course he knew. He just didn't care."

Showing he just didn't care, Obama wrote letters on Illinois Senate letterhead supporting government loans for slum projects.

Obama coauthored the Illinois law that gave tax breaks to his slum lord friends, including now convicted felon Tony Rezko who helped Obama buy a million-dollar house.

As a US Senator, Obama worked to increase federal subsidies for his slum lord pals who donated more than $175,000 to Obama's campaigns with Rezko raising another $200,000.

While running for president, Obama is promising to create a fund that gives his slum lord buddies $500 million a year. This is outrageous.

LA City Council Approves "Density Bonus" After Vigorous Debate And Against Janice Hahn's Wishes

LA City Council approves new "density bonus" bonanza
by Zuma Dogg (because I didn't see any coverage in LA Times today)

I didn't see anything about this in the LA Times, but it kinda hit ZD as the biggest thing to hit the City of Los Angeles in years when it comes to traffic, density (and lack of infrastructure to accommodate the density) that will be created by the new "density bonus" that Los Angeles City Council is now offering to developers after yesterday's approval. (Since it wasn't passed unanimously, it will come back for one more vote/second reading, next Wednesday, but expect a final approval. )

Click here for Item 45 from the LA City Council Agenda from 2/13/08 to see the heated debate between Janice Hahn, CM Tom LaBonge and CM Bill Rosendahl vs Eric Garshady and the rest of his developer puppet-masters. In all my time following the council meetings, this was about the most lively debate, yet -- as opposed to the usual dog and pony show, non-debate. (It actually didn't pass unanimously. Hahn, LaBonge and Rosendahl voted "no".) You have to make it past CM Reyes who opens the debate, and will put you to sleep, but it picks up into a great reality show-style actual debate.

CM Wendy Greuel informed the public that, "I feel the reason we have the traffic today is because there is not enough affordable housing near where people work." (Near transit hubs.)
