Ass Clown for the month of March

Somewhere in the world or in the cyber wilderness of the internet, one may find the mystical figure known as "MAYOR FRANK".

Before he left the cyber space known as Mayor Sam Sister City for parts unknown. He created a award that one must ascend, then drop into the depths of deceit to earn. "THE ASS CLOWN AWARD".

Fast forward to April 1, 2008. Past awardees such as Eliot Sekuler and Councilman Jack Weiss are still up to the standards that brought honor on to them.

But the actions of one diminutive council overlord prompts the resumption of Mayor Frank's visionary retrospect on the attributes of our political community.

Thus we award Council District One's Edward Reyes the "ASS CLOWN AWARD WINNER FOR MARCH, 2008"

To pinpoint one action of Ed Reyes as the reason for this award would be insulting Eddie's ability to make himself an ass on a daily basis.

One can start with the obvious, that being his role in the "Las Villas" controversy. When hundreds of your constituents hound you constantly about the numerous state laws that "Las Villas" will violated, this qualifies you as a "ASS CLOWN".

Next, shall we bring up your support of "DRIVE BY PROOF PARKS"?? You cheer the efforts of your planners to design parks that would protect park users from gangland attacks. Yet that didn't help the poor park users regarding the $6,000,000 dollar park on Drew Street in your own district. This qualifies you as a "ASS CLOWN".

The topper is today with your rants against hillside homeowners who dare not allow affordable housing and your density mandates to ruin their communities. Leave this to the Rhodes Scholar of CD 1 to somehow equate density with some symbolic ban on homicides?? BTW, nice how that gang banger from Clover(your district) went down in Glendale. Aggregating all crowns you an "ASS CLOWN".

So Councilman Reyes, we hope by bestowing this award in your honor, the constituents of CD 1 will be inspire to seek that no repeat of this honor comes at the cost to their quality of living.
