Maia Lazar Joins the Sister City

Continuing on our time honored tradition of being LA's political free speech zone in the blogosphere, the Sister City is proud to announce a new member of the team.

Maia Lazar is a senior at the University of California at San Diego studying Russian and Soviet studies and history.  Maia was an intern at LA CityBeat at the age of 14 and a frequent contributor to National Review while in high school.  Maia has blogged on and off for five years at her blog Sky Watching My World and is the daughter of the late Cathy Seipp. She's traveled extensively within the Balkans, has a unique perspective on the region and has learned to speak some of the lingua franca.

I'm excited to have Maia join the blog.  She will be writing about whatever strikes her fancy. And that's just fine with me.
