Open Thread For Thursday

Mayor Sam has skipped town for a few days, something about meeting with some clients from Dubai, so the site is in the hands of us underlings for awhile. Aren't you the lucky one?
Oh, the trouble we could cause...
But not today. There are bigger fish to fry, and besides, Mayor Sam keeps promising the staff a cruise to the Mexican Rivera. I don't want to mess that one up!
Speaking of Mexico...
-The SF Chronicle has dropped Rosarito Beach as a choice spring break destination due to the ongoing war between the drug lords and the Federales and just about anyone else who gets in their way.
-Punta Colonet, the planned super port that Mexico wishes to build to sap business from LA & Long Beach appears to be another victim of the economic downslide (collapse) at least for the foreseeable future. The proposed terminal would have allegedly side stepped U.S. environmental & security regulations (not to mention wages) and would include the building of a rail line direct to the U.S. border. China was originally supposed to be the big financial backer for the project, but has now chosen to just wait & see. Wal-Mart officials are in mourning.
Closer To Home...
-Rocky Delgadillo razes the drug house of a notorious LA gang with bulldozers.
-The pro Measure B people (IBEW) are hoping for a little Obama residual love from LA voters on March 3rd.
And there you go. Feel free to ignore my suggested topics and just go with it baby!
I wouldn't expect anything less.
