First, a bloggin Merry Christmas from us here at Mayor Sam, we hope that our diverse group of viewers are enjoying this most sacred day with your respective families.

But we want to have a moment of silence ......................, for Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez's cat "Gretzky", who has gone on to a greater kitty place.

Each year, especially in a election year, we receive the normal pandering holiday message from our assorted politicos. But the best by far year after year, was the Sanchez holiday card and its star Gretzky. We have seen Gretzky in many incarnations. But now with Gretzky chasing his furballs in kitty heaven, we have lost a politico holiday icon.

Gretzky will surely be missed.
