T. Gloria I.F. Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine

Its all about Gloria as the Political Musing Class keyboards analysis on the upcoming battle between the termed-out Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor and the embattled CD 14 incumbent Jose Huizar.
CD 14 City Council Candidate and LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria Molina, with some potential CD 14 Campaign endorsers?
With apologies to Van Morrison and Patty Smith, there is a new G-L-O-R-I-A climbing the Political Musing Class Charts in Ciudad de Los Angeles.
At 66 years of age and not ready to slow down, CD 14 City Council Candidate and out-going LA County Supervisor Gloria Molina, has been a musing God-send as the likes of Jill Stewart, Doug McIntyre and others, have taken to keyboard as we excerpt below.

** Late Morning Update: Councilman Huizar's Sexual Harassment Trial postpone to March 2, 2015. One day before the CD 14 Election.
Molina’s decision to take on the ethically challenged incumbent, City Councilman Jose Huizar, raised eyebrows among City Hall watchers since professional politicians in L.A. tend to stay out of each other’s way. Of course, Huizar is a special case; his personal indiscretions have made him particularly vulnerable. In 2012 Huizar, driving a city-owned vehicle, plowed into a motorist stopped at a traffic light. Despite the late hour, no Breathalyzer was given until several hours after the accident, and when the victim finally agreed to a taxpayer-funded $185,000 settlement, Huizar had the chutzpah to declare, “I take full responsibility.”The second shoe will drop in November when a sexual harassment suit filed by former Huizar aide and paramour Francine Godoy goes to trial.
Godoy alleges Huizar, a married father of four, retaliated against her for refusing to carry on a sexual relationship. Godoy’s salary jumped from $47,000 in 2006 to $132,000 in 2013, during which time she moved into an office next to Huizar’s with a “specially constructed connecting door,” according to City Watch LA columnist Jack Humphreville.

From Jill Stewart in the LA Weekly:
Former city controller Laura Chick had harsh words for both Huizar and Molina: "I was surprised and a little aghast" about Molina's announcement, she says, "because I happen to believe in something called the art of leaving. Gloria Molina has served this city long and well, but it's time to pass the baton. I was very surprised that in this long time of public service that she hasn't found someone to mentor. Men — or especially women. And it's disappointing to me."
But, Chick adds, "That said, I hope to heck someone puts Jose Huizar out of office."
Grace Yoo, a Koreatown activist involved in a federal lawsuit that claims the 2012 Wesson-led redistricting chopped apart legally protected communities, has not taken a side in the Molina-Huizar war.
But if Molina can persuade voters that the City Council is emerging as a new version of the old boys' club — 14 males who vote in lockstep on 99 percent of council matters — she may pose a threat to Huizar.
Yoo says, "I think the fact that Gloria Molina stepped into the CD14 race means that this very quiet race has, all of a sudden, become a very major race. ... She's been the first Latina on so many occasions. She certainly wouldn't be the first Latina City Council member — but the fact is that we currently only have one" woman on the council: Nury Martinez, who represents part of the San Fernando Valley.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

As CD 14 City Clowncil Central Committee's reigning Bad Boy Jose Huizar's Attorney Dennis Walsh seeks to keep personal and medical records, along with information regarding "Sexual History" of both his client and former Deputy Chief of Staff Francine Godoy, from being made public, Godoy seeks to expand her Sexual Harassment Lawsuit.
Will making public the Personal, Medical and Sexual History of both Francine Godoy and the "Dear Charro, Princeton Graduate", prompt CD 14 Constituents to take action at the Polling Place in 2015, to protect themselves from a dreaded Third Term of "Sleazy Huizzy"?
Will fellow, former CD 14 Staffers stand by Francine Godoy's assertion of a hostile work environment"?
Good Bloggin Monday morning to all as we want to advise all that the following missive is rated PG-17 (ie. anyone under the age of 18 should seek guidance from parents regarding the content of this blog post, that is unless you are above the age of 13 in the area of the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council. Thus, old enough to vote and be exploited by the likes of Vera Padillo for personal gain, but I digress)).
Because of this, don't be surprise if the legal proceedings on April 23 disclose some further inconvenience truths regarding the ugly, inner-personal of "Sleazy Huizzy".
** While the likes of City Clowncil Central Committee Members Joe "Blue Dog Democrat" Buscanio, Mitch "Spring Street RINO" Englander, along with a former "Shock Talk Radio Host", turned paid, Political Operative shill for their proposed "Supplement Our Spending, SOS LA Sale Tax Hike Scheme", KABC 790 AM Morning Drive Host and "Daily Valley Moldy Green Sheet" (aka Daily News) Columnist Doug McIntyre, hits a missive shot over the wall, in noting the following as excerpted below ..........
Worse than Detroit?
Really?
Despite the date, April 1st, the prestigious UCLA Anderson Forecast is not known for either pranks or hyperbole. With Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in attendance, the economists charged with crunching the numbers on the L.A. economy dropped a couple of doozies on us last Wednesday.
From December 1993 through December 2013, Los Angeles failed to produce any new jobs. That’s “any.”
Zip. Nada. As in none.
In fact, we lost 3.1 percent of our jobs, ranking Los Angeles dead last in job growth among the top 32 largest metropolitan areas in the United States.

........ and what will the insiders of the 2020 Commission propose in their anticipated follow-up report later in the week? More of the same fail policies.

** Doug McIntyre's Newsprint Colleague Rick Orlov's Monday Tipoff Column begins with the ramifications to local elections, pertaining from the recent McCutcheon Supreme Court Case which lifts restrictions on contributions to campaigns. Thus, in the spirit of putting the courts decision in local, political layman terms, we present the following hypothetical situation.

"If DWP/IBEW Strongman Brian D'Arcy Rizzo had stash away a portion of the unaudited Joint IBEW/DWP Job Safety Training Non-Profit for future, nefarious political use, he can now donate the maximum amount to each 2015 City Council Election and continue to fund Working Californians with an unlimited amount of money".

......, makes you wonder if the recent Supreme Court Decision is behind the times when it comes to local politics, allegedly.

Stand Up for Educational Accountibility by Affirming the Charter Revocation of the Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School

The Controversial Lucrative 1% Educational Collective of Academia Semillas del Pueblo faces its "moment of truth" and you can help in putting a end to the true purveyors of hateful, divisive and shameful rhetoric in education.
Academia supporter's hateful attack against Doug McIntyre and Paul Harvey.
Academia's hateful attack against a certain Mayor Sam Blogger.
** Blogger's note: Contrary to the backroom support of the likes of LA County Board of Supervisor Gloria "Molina Boo Boo", LAUSD School Board Mouthpiece Monica "Gorda Boo Boo" Garcia, former CD 14 City Councilman Richard Alatorre, current CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar, former Mayor Antonio Villar and others, there is a growing majority of El Sereno community members who support the recent LAUSD Charter Revocation of the Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Education Collective of Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson. A petition and this form letter below, is being circulated to support the Los Angeles County Department of Education's recommendation to affirm the action of LAUSD and deny the appeal of its June, 2013 vote. Contrary to Academia's repugnant and racist attacks against the likes of KABC 790 AM Talk Radio Host Doug McIntyre, LA County Board of Education Member Douglas Boyd and a certain Mayor Sam Blogger, the letter below, highlights education deficiencies, nefarious fiscal issues and nothing about race, in supporting the recommendation of the LA County Board of Education Superintendent. Simply, there is nothing race-related in our discerning reporting on Academia, only the outing of fraudulent educational and fiscal actions by Mr. and Mrs. Mark(os) Aguilar-Ferguson and their collectivist enablers---Scott Johnson.

RE: Letter and Petition to Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) to deny the charter received on appeal for Anahualcalmecac International University Preparatory AKA Semillas Sociedad Civil “Semillas” on October 8, 2013

Dear Board President and Members of the Board of Education,

On September 6, 2013 residents and taxpayers of the community of El Sereno who live and reside near or around the three sites currently used for the Charters Semillas Sociedad Civil - Anauhualcalmemcac University Preparatory High School, AKA “Semillas” wrote a letter and enclosed a petition to voice our concerns and demanded that the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) deny the charter petition received on appeal for Anahuacalmecac International University Preparatory.  The letter cited low academic performance, failing to comply with the Office of Inspector General, Federal and State tax violations, illegal Café and school cafeteria, health and safety concerns specifically L.A.M.C. zoning and parking violations and most importantly cited the school governance as problematic that has led to financial conflicts of interest by the school administration.   Semillas’ lack of transparency and possible misappropriation of funds raises questions as to the ethical behavior of the School Administrators as the school was operating with negative net assets and negative net income which called into question whether the governing board – husband and wife duo  is adequately “exercising its fiduciary duty” to oversee and manage the school’s finances.

In a similar case, the husband and wife founders of a San Fernando Valley charter school were sentenced Friday for the misappropriation of more than $200,000 in public funds.  This legal case will have major impacts and will affect charter schools statewide and will expose other Charter School operators such as Semillas Administrators:

As in the San Fernando case we believe that a similar conflict of interest exists between the School Administration and Board of Directors including the Executive Director and Principal, a married couple.  According to the most recently filed IRS Form 990 – 2010, the married couple has received both a salary and a stipend as Board Members/Trustees of over $261,104.  In addition the owner of the properties Tzicatl Development Corporation which leases the buildings to Semillas lists the Executive Director as Mr. Marcos Aguilar who is also “Executive Director of Semillas” and “Non-Voting Member of the Board of Trustees” for Semillas, raising legitimate questions as to the conflict of interest that exists between the two Non Profit Entities.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

With thanks to new City Clowncilpersons Mike Bonin, Gil Cedillo, City Attorney Mike Feuer and even losing Mayoral Candidate Wendy "Boss D'Arcy's Greuel", "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant" John Shallman can enjoy some quality time in the tropics.
Just think how much sun block and luxury "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant" John Shallman can buy with former Mayoral Client Wendy "Boss D'Arcy's Greuel" outstanding campaign debts ( wonder if the IRS has any interest in Shallman's vacation?).
Good morning to all as we share this moment of tropical tranquility via none other than "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant" John Shallman.
You have to admire the audacity ( or up front manipulator of campaign laws) of the "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant", to bask in the tropical sun ( with sun block needed on the head) while his latest high profile client loser Wendy "Boss D'Arcy's Greuel", is floundering in a half-million dollars plus campaign debt, via Mr. Shallman's consulting.
But "Boss D'Arcy's Greuel" should not pout, after all, she was an willing enabler in Shallman's fiscal proclivities that made her the latest example of the "Private Citizen/ Political Consultant's" questionable campaign spending.
The least she can hope for is a tropical postcard with the next campaign debt due date.
** The City Clowncil Central Committee in due course ( at 10 AM) will take up the question of murals and whether the time is now to end the cities ban on new wall side art works. KABC 790 AM and Daily News Columnist Doug McIntyre shares his thoughts via his latest "Moldy Green Sheet" column. Excerpt below.
Councilman (Jose) Huizar is considering a two-track bill, one that would ban single-family home murals but allow neighborhoods to opt in if they so choose. The other would legalize murals anywhere in the city but allow neighborhoods to opt out.
How Huizar defines “neighborhood” is unclear, and a call to his office was not returned.
Meanwhile Gil Cedillo leans towards Option A, according to the councilman’s spokesman, Fredy Ceja, who claims the residents of Cedillo’s district are “too busy” to opt-in.

....... at least Cedillo's Office returns phone calls.

** If you ever wonder what the current sellout price is for the Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee, Jack Humphreville has the tally and move over Steve Austin, there is a new "Six Million Dollar Boss" in LA (or at least in City Hall).

Classic MayorSam: Doug McIntyre Schools Annoying Democrat on Mayor Villaraigosa

On the eve of Barack Obama's big convention speech, here's a piece by Red Spot from earlier in this year that shows Obama nor even his top lieutenant, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, apparently didn't know what an embarrassment even LA Democrats think our Mayor is. On a Fox News segment, KABC talkradio host Doug McIntyre tries to explain it to Wasserman-Schultz, who will have none of it.

KABC 790 AM Morning Show Host Doug McIntyre's "political education" of DNC Chairperson Congresswoman Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz on the reigning "11% Mayor of Los Angeles" Antonio Ramon Villar, continues its viral national ascension. On Friday, Doug gave the above pre-dawn interview with "Fox and Friends" on DNC Chairperson's sought out interview to discuss the Democratic National Committee's selection of the "visionary" City Terrace native as the "chairperson" of its National Convention in September.
You can link here to hear the "borderline offensive" retort of Doug McIntyre to Congresswoman Blabbermouth-Schultz's attempt to spin revisionist facts on the achievements (or lack of) of Mayor Villar. One can ponder as we near the Democratic Convention in September, how many times McIntyre's exchange with the Florida Congresswoman will be replayed to a national audience?

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Tuesday

"Telebimbo Numero Uno Mirthala Salinas".

For the eligible aspiring Telebimbos that will be within proximity of Mayor Villar this weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, we bring you in Mirthala's own words, what type of man Tony V. is in the presence of young Telebimbos.
What was he like? (when cheating on his wife)Mirthala Salinas smiles fondly and takes a deep breath. (flash back moments of pleasure) “A happy person. (happy to cheat with Telebimbo twenty years younger) A good-hearted person. Humble (????). Outgoing but cautious (no messages of love on city-owned Blackberry please!!). Not shy, but he observes people (what Telebimbo or chulita is next). Like I can be outgoing, but I’m shy (Fabian and Tony laugh at that), and I think he’s more outgoing (especially with women), but cautious (cheating on wife can cause loss of approval ratings). And, you know, I don’t blame him (what about Corina?). In the world he’s in, it’s hard (but you made it easy). He’s slow in getting to know you (Ahhhh?), but he’s a very positive person, very energetic person (Viagra?). He’s very—what’s the word? Positive (unlike the state of the city)? Like in his mind, there’s no room for negative thinking. Everything is good. Life is beautiful (especially with a younger Sancha).”

Thus, you have the "face" of "Democratic Family Values".

He's Back in the Foothills seeking Tax Assessments!!
Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy/Mountain Recreation Conservation Authority Strongman Joe Edmiston.
Once again the residents of the Santa Monica Mountains are facing future fiscal bites to the wallet, from none other than the reigning "political predator" of open space SMMC/MRCA's Joe Edmiston. KABC 790 AM Morning Drive Host and Daily News Columnist Doug McIntyre has the details ........
Measure HH would slap a $24 per parcel tax on land east of the 405, including the Hollywood Hills, while Measure MM will ding property owners west of the 405 $19 a year for the next 10 years. Stolarz claims the money will allow the MRCA to maintain and acquire additional open space, parkland, wildlife corridors, natural habitats, waters and facilities in two "zones" targeted for taxation by Joe Edmiston.

Lets get real, the money goes towards sustaining Ranger Joe's (who wears hat and carries gun) fiefdom with perks for his political friends..

Looking for the Political Special Someone (political failure) to Share your DNC Experience?
Beyond the toughness is well ...........
The Downtown News Editor and Scribe of Wit once again channels the inner persona of former City Terrace tough guy, turn progressive politico Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Thus, if you are a single brunette aspiring telebimbo, we have your match.
Impossible Dreamer Seeks Same: Who says all the good ones are taken? Mentally and physically buff mayor (I once worked out so much my rings stopped fitting) in search of refined Democratic lady for laughs, dancing and midnight subway rides to the sea. My hobbies: planting 1 million trees, giving out rain ponchos to protesters and appearing on national television. I’ve got a never-say-die attitude and dream about making things better, and if you have the same dream and no longer read local newspapers because you’re turned off by the Negative Nellies, then we should meet and have lunch. And maybe some sex.

Disclosure: He comes with mansion with an termination date of July 1, 2013.

What "Predatory Creature" is the bigger danger to Foothill Residents and Visitors?

** Blogger's Note: As the "Old Gray Eco-Hag on Spring Street " notes today, above the fold and to the left, the mountain lion known as "P-22" has set up residence in the nation's largest municipal park In honor of the return of another link in the food chain to Griffith Park and in the spirit of educating our cyber audience, we bring you this tutorial comparison on "two predatory creatures" (one natural and the other political) that make their home (or grow their political empire) within our foothill interface habitat/communities---Scott Johnson.
"Natural Predator": The P-22 Mountain Lion of Griffith Park (photo via LA Times).
"Oops P-22, caught on the remote camera again".
In the second half of the decade of the 1980's, this blogger worked within Griffith Park at the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Griffith Park Boys Camp facility. During the course of my duties, I led countless of hikes through all corners of the park, from the flats to the top of Mt. Hollywood. The only story of Mountain Lions roaming the park that I could remember, was centered on one that escape the LA Zoo. But in recorded history, mountain lions along with Grizzlies, with Condors overhead, once roam the Griffith Park parkland and surrounding areas.
It is a rare and special moment to observe a mountain lion in the wild (lucky to experience this twice), let alone our interfacing communities. But don;t forget that the pretty picture of P-22 above is countered with the reality that this animal will protect itself to the fullest  If you ever come face to face with a mountain lion, NEVER PANIC AND RUN! STAND YOUR GROUND, ASSUME A LARGER AND LOUD PERSONA.  What could happen if  you  panic and run?. In the eyes of "P-22" and his brothers and sisters, you have become prey, with your life coming to a possible end as a lower part of the food chain..
"Political Predator": Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy/Mountain Recreation and Conservation Authority Strongman Joe Edmiston .
"The Predatory Joe Edmiston searching for cheap land and sources of revenue to grow and sustain his SMMC/MRCA habitat".
Just as much as an one and one encounter with "P-22" can be life altering, an encounter with the political predator Joe Edmiston can be life-changing, especially if  he desires your land, money or if you are caught violating the Predatory Joe's habitat..
Some background on the Predatory Joe Edmiston. Predatory Joe has evolved from his initial habitat creation via California Governor Jerry "Moonbeam I" Brown , into a larger political-than-life predator that some feel has grown too far beyond its past politically-intended habitat. Once only mandated to grow open space for natural predators such as "P-22", the Predatory Joe has assumed "top predator status" over his own growing habitat by parasitic and mutualistic adaptations.
The Predatory Joe has evolved his parasitic abilities to ensure the sustainability of his habitat. Unlike "P-22" who bites his prey in the neck for the kill, the "Predatory Joe" aims for the wallet of its intended victim (more like thousands of victims) and proceeds to eat away at the monetary resources. This fiscal parasitic bite can came in many forms. For example, if you dare venture into "Predatory Joe's" habitat (SMMC/MRCA Land) via vehicle and you come to a stop sign, STOP!! If you don't, the chances are good that Predatory Joe will bite you for $175 dollars.
The SMMC and MRCA are the perpetrators of the Stealth of Election of ’03.  They created an election to give them an enormous new source of funds for the acquisition of public lands, the maintenance of public lands, including brush clearance, and the further entrenchment of their own power..

Thus, once the "Predatory Joe" gets his share of  fiscal tidings from thousands of bites to the wallets, he crafts mutualistic relationships with other political predators. This helps grows his habitat in places such as Elephant Hill in CD 14 with little notice and  a big cost to taxpayers

......... and who is afraid of a little "P-22" now?

A Bloggin Response to Academia Semillas del Pueblo "Cease and Desist Request", BRING IT ON!

Academia Semillas del Pueblo's Charter School "Cease and Desist Letter" to blogger Scott Johnson
 Page One
Page Two
Page Three ** BTW, how many Costco Pizzas could have been purchase to feed Academia students with the legal cost of this letter?
Memo to Academia Semillas del Pueblo Executive Director Marcos Aguilar and "Legal Counsel" Salomon Zavala, care to join us in a teachable moment regarding Academia Semillas del Pueblo's latest attack on First Amendment rights and a Free Press?
For the bloggin benefit of our political cyber audience, lets refresh our readers on tactics behind your latest threat of a "Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation" aka S.L.A.P.P. and some background via Wikipedia., against a journalistic entity. **.... and remind everyone how much was awarded KABC 790 AM Morning Host Doug McIntyre and Disney in legal fees last time Academia attempted to use S.LA.P.P. to silence their critics.

strategic lawsuit against public participation(SLAPP) is a lawsuit that is intended to censor, intimidate, and silence critics by burdening them with the cost of a legal defense until they abandon their criticism or opposition.[1]The typical SLAPP plaintiff does not normally expect to win the lawsuit. The plaintiff's goals are accomplished if the defendant succumbs to fear, intimidation, mounting legal costs or simple exhaustion and abandons the criticism. A SLAPP may also intimidate others from participating in the debate. A SLAPP is often preceded by a legal threat. The difficulty, of course, is that plaintiffs do not present themselves to the Court admitting that their intent is to censor, intimidate or silence their critics. Hence, the difficulty in drafting SLAPP legislation, and in applying it, is to craft an approach which affords an early termination to invalid abusive suits, without denying a legitimate day in court to valid good faith claims.

We here at Mayor Sam have some history with these "Cease and Desist your First Amendment Right to Free Expression Demands" (in the writer's own words with help of "spoll check"). Our cyber audience will remember this blog's  first encounter with "Cease and Desist" via "Infant Assemblyman Mike Gatto" (one is easily bully the first time) and we are still here today despite repeated bile personal attacks via the dreaded "Gatto Truthers". Recently, "Private Citizen/ Democratic Campaign Consultant" John Shallman took issue with some of this blogger's past commentary and made threats about libel which were just that, threats to intimidate our opinions. Now we have this latest tired example of waste of legal fees and paper to which we say BRING IT ON!

In what is becoming this writer's standard disclaimer......, let me state that we endeavor here at Mayor Sam to base our musings on the facts. If we choose to incorporate speculation, we label it as such. Plus, in the course of writing we have the right to question all possible story angles base upon the information at hand and craft our product in a style that may incorporate satire, mixed with parody. That is the bloggin way (especially for this writer).

In the case of our coverage of the on going issues at the controversial Charter School, we are very aware that only the facts are expose, especially in reporting on a trouble institution of learning (that is why LAUSD professional staff recommended non-renewal of charter) who's actions may have a detrimental effect on the children it supposedly serve. We stand by our reporting and commentary. We also extend the invitation to Academia Semillas del Pueblo staff and supporters to respond in writing to any of our coverage which we will post in the interest of a communal dialog. That is what blogging promotes, truthful dialog, not legal threats.

Sunday Bloggin Feature: "Are Past Judgments ($193,000+) against Academia Semillas del Pueblo still pending"?

With the recent renew interest in the controversial charter schoool Academia Semillas del Pueblo, we have received many documents here at Mayor Sam regarding present issues such as declining test scores, questionable financial standing and a failed effort by LAUSD education professionals to revoke charter renewal (thanks to LAUSD School Board President Monica Garcia).
Yet, what many have forgotten in the recent years is Academia's attempt to restrict the free speech rights of the likes of KABC Talk Radio Host Doug McIntyre and the financial ramifications the subsequent legal ruling had on the finances of the controversial charter school.
Doug McIntyre and then parent company of KABC Talk Radio 790 AM Disney were the target of a civil rights and defamation lawsuit by Marcos Aguilar after McIntyre's reporting on the controversial comments of Aguilar and the low test scores of its students.

But Aguilar's lawsuit fail and Academia was found liable for Disney and McIntyre's legal fees. You can read the rest of the legal findings after the jump. BTW to Doug and Disney, has Academia paid up on their legal obligations?

LAUSD recommends Denial of Charter Renewal for Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School

Tuesday, April 17, 2012 is Charter renewal time for the controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Charter School in El Sereno and the recommendation from the professional staff of LAUSD (like in 2007) is  ....
9. Board of Education Report No. 217 – 11/12   PUBLIC HEARING
Charter Schools Division
(Denial of the Renewal of the Charter for Xinaxcalmecac Academia Semillas del Pueblo and
Amendment to Expand to Grades 9-12)
Recommends the denial of the renewal of the charter petition and amendment to expand to grades
9-12 for a K-8 grade, 311 student school located at 4970 and 4990 Huntington Drive in the City of
Los Angeles and the adoption of the Findings of Fact.
But like in 2007, will the Latino Political Community seek to overturn the recommendation of the professional overseers of charter schools within LAUSD? Some thoughts ......

Controversial Academia Semillas del Pueblo Principal Marcos Aguilar and his followers have sought to maintain a close relationship with CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar. Aguilar and his followers were big supporters of the councilman's recent re-election, suppling voters and money for the campaign.
Within the last few years, that relationship helped Aguilar gain access to the old El Sereno Library (yellow building) next to the decades old Hecho En Mexico Restaurant on Huntington Drive. Yet within the last several months, a feud over parking access has turned into a "war of defamation" between the two establishments. But one should note that the popular eatery (and its liquor license) were an established community dining destination long before Academia Semillas del Pueblo moved in on both sides of its location. Recently, Aguilar has asked his student parents to boycott the eatery over supposed "adult entertainment" (charges denied by the owners), to the consternation of many in the El Sereno Community.
In 2012 unlike 2007,  Marcos Aguilar and his followers will not have the likes of KABC 790 AM Talk Show Host Doug McIntyre, reporter Sandy Wells and White America to blame for its demise as a fail Charter School. If anything, Aguilar's Charter School has become just another political special interest that has put its leftist agenda before truly educating its student charges. Recently, Aguilar has been working with Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy/ Mountain Recreation Conservation Authority Ranger/ Strongman Joe Edmiston on "curriculum" for its "market-rate purchase" of "surplus city property" on Elephant Hill. Speculation has been rampant for years that Aguilar wants "open space acreage" somewhere in the El Sereno area to build his ideal campus /collective..
For the students of Academia, the practice of learning the ancient ways still takes precedence over test scores.. As the LA Times reports, Academia is still ranked in the lowest ten percent based upon its most recent API scores. Meanwhile, some parents within the Academia Collective are opening questioning the finances behind Marcos and his wife Minnie Ferguson educational commune. In recent years, Academia open a supposed community coffee shop only to see it shuttered. Back in 2007, questions pertaining to the non-profit that oversaw the day to day operations of Academia, were raised by former LAUSD School Board member Mike Lansing and former Mayor Sam Blogger Zuma Dogg. Thus on Tuesday, while test scores and questionable business issues remain problematic some fives years later at Academia, the spotlight will on the Board of Education and its integrity to end this educational failure.

KABC AM's Doug McIntyre on Fox and Friends discussing DNC Chair Congresswoman "Blabbermouth"-Schultz Interview

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

KABC 790 AM Morning Drive Host Doug McIntyre.
Great Spring Break Hump Day as some do a double check of the ice chest or fridge to check on the liquids stock and comfort foods.
With non-alcoholic drink in hand, we give props to KABC 790 AM Morning Drive Host Doug McIntyre for achieving something that this pueblo has not experience in sometime, unity..From West Valley Conservatives,   Westside Progressives, Eastside Liberal Activists, South LA African-American Leaders and a surging Koreatown Community, the response to McIntyre's reality check on the "visionary" Mayor Antonio Villar has resonated through all activists communities city-wide.
McIntyre in his today's Daily News column, recaps his segment Monday with DNC Leader Congresswoman Debbie Blabbermouth-Schultz  Its interesting to note how democrats love to engage in double-speak when bashing republicans. But as Congresswoman Blabbermouth-Schultz found out on Monday, the next time she wants to engage in ignorant dialog on the local airway, she should check for "public ownership" to ensure a friendly broadcast venue.
** As Los Angeles County voters await a court ruling whether District Attorney Candidate and current City Attorney Carmen Trutanich can label himself "Los Angeles Chief Prosecutor", Civic Activist Jack Humphreville had this comment about the Trutanich Campaign choice of attorney.
What is Nuch doing with Atty Kaufamn.  This lawyer represents the dark side. Kaufman represented campaign funding Union Bo$$ d'Arcy, the public be damned business manager of the IBEW, when he sued the IBEW Eight in connection with Measure B, the Mayor's Solar Plan that was a payback for campaign contributions.

...... and add in the fact that he is endorsed by the Los Angeles County Labor Federation who's late leader Miguel Contreras would of been indicted in the V.I.P. Scandal, makes you ponder Nuch's political thought process.

** Long before Los Angeles County Assessor John Noguez was notice on the ethical radar by the likes of the LA Times and LA Weekly, a little known blog in Huntington Park was regaling its readers with daily speculation about supposed nefarious dealings of the former Huntington Park Coucilperson/Mayor.
Lastly, to the likes of Julie, Cheryl, Pat, and the brothers and sisters of the City of Los Angeles Labor Family, ever wonder why close friend of Mayor Antonio "Two-Face" Villar and former Speaker Fabian Nunez Los Angeles County Labor Federation Leader Maria Elena Durazo, is muted on your struggles with former labor brother Antonio?

Doug McIntyre returning to Morning Drive on KABC 790 AM in January

Talk Radio Host Doug McIntyre.
CAUTION!! This next post Mayor Antonio Villar will find inflammatory and the likes of Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy's "Ranger with hat and gun" Joe Edmiston, Separatist Educator Marco Aguilar and retire pedophile enabler Cardinal Roger "Corleone" Mahony, will cringe when they read that Doug McIntyre is returning to his former morning drive slot at KABC 790 AM in January.
Joining Mcintyre as co-host will be former KFI host and newsperson Terri-Rae Elmer who left 640 AM on December 7 after 22 years. She will dispense with the news and serve as radio co-pilot with McIntyre.
The return of McInIyre could not come at a better time for KABC. With scandals breaking daily at 200 Spring Street and a mayoral contest upcoming in 2013, McIntyre knowledge of the mover and shakers within City Hall, will place the station at the forefront of coverage regarding the latest dubious follies in "Ciudad de Los Angeles".

Morning Briefs on a Shifting Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

The political honeymoon between Sunland-Tujunga and CD 2 City Councilman Paul Krekorian is over. ** Read letter from the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council to Councilman Krekorian that was crafted after rare Sunday Special Meeting.
Joe Barrett's S.T centric Blog "Action Alert" on Ed Reyes CD 1 style density in CD 2. From Joe B. This is very serious. We have a un-vetted project being fast tracked through the City. An incomplete application, no addressing the Historical Resource Impacts (to Bolton Hall), substandard infrastructure, and a Councilman that's MIA. Please write your letters today!
Why would Councilman Krekorian fail to find a need for supplemental environmental review on the Samoa Project considering among others ....
•  The historic resource preservation cannot be ignored.
•  There is inadequate parking and Samoa is a sub-standard street.
•  There are no provisions to improve the infrastructure and the existing infrastructure can't handle the density now.
•  The impacts on public safety.  High crime area.
•  Thorough Environmental Review must be required.
But then that was the argument of the Friends of the Southwest Museum, when they requested that a Supplemental EIR be conducted on the Autry National Center' plans to use public money to increase exhibit space at its Griffith Park location. And who was the council person that shot down the proposal?

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

Wendy Greuel may have thought she was advancing her Mayoral chances by disclosing the existence of a special program that allowed the Mayor and Council Members to fix parking tickets for high profile supporters - that is until the Mayor disclosed Greuel herself had used the program during her time on the Council.  Despite that - in true LA City Council closing the barn door after the horse has left style - the cat is out of the bag and CM Dennis Zine is now heading up an investigation of the program.  In the meantime, Paul Hatfield looks at the Mayoral campaign implications of the whole issue.

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

Dennis Zine does an
impression of Tom LaBonge
CM and former motorcycle cop Dennis Zine used to be a fiscally conservative Republican who know exactly what the problem was with City government.  Then he joined the City Council and became part of it.  Doug McIntyre spells it out.

Zine took some hits when he approved a Costco siting at a mall in Woodland Hills. Local NIMBYs and anti-big box wackos went apoplectic but obviously the locals want to shop there or the Washington based retailer wouldn't go to the trouble.  However, in a move to mollify the retired and the professional agitators, Costco has released plans that promise the store - which generally have the ambiance of a cargo hangar at LAX - will be really pretty!

Sunday One-Liners and Open Threadies

 One sentence at a time, that's all we ask;

-Doug McIntyre on the sad state of the GOP in California.

-Sen. Bernie Sanders on MSNBC suspending Keith Olbermann.

-I'm not sure what this means, but evidently, it's very important.

-Candidate filing for LA City Council election 2011 begins on Monday.

-Please visit my new blog that covers the behind the scenes shadiness of a developer that has lost his mind, and the PR firm (Consensus Inc) that is being paid to make his dreams come true.

-In California, at least, experience counts.

- And finally, Goodbye Meg, we'll miss you! Much Love, television and radio station advertising departments across the state;

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

I'm shocked, shocked that the DWP lied!!
Mayor Villaraigosa has secured a restraining order against a man who had according to police threatened to "take him out." According to reports Daniel John Molnar was arrested hours after allegedly making a call to the Mayor's office saying that the Mayor was talking a lot of "shit." Though police have yet to charge Molnar who, according to an LAPD detective claimed to be an CIA operative who the Mayor wants to kill.  No word if Molnar is a regular participant in City Hall public comment.

Don't forget! The hearing considering a plan to turn Lopez Canyon into a truck driving school is today at 2:30 p.m.  If you can, show up and speak out!

Doug McIntyre posits that like the Vichy French Officer who were surprised to find gambling in Humphrey Bogart's nightclub in Casablanca, Wendy Greuel was shocked that the DWP lied! It's true Madam Controller, the DWP has gone rogue.

Speaking of the DWP unexplained power outages and dips Monday temporarily knocked a couple of TV stations off the air and shut down my computer in the middle of some important work.  As I have been told by a DWP employee if one were to ever visit the DWP offices and look around you're be surprised that the lights are on and the water runs as much as it does.  Have there ever been as many power outages and water main breaks during the many decade history of the DWP as there have been in the last year?

Are top cops feigning a more liberal point of view? The LA Weekly reports that an anonymous writer who goes by the pen name Jack Dunphy and claims to be a cop is not certain that LAPD Chief Charlie Beck personally opposes Arizona's controversial immigration reform law.  Dunphy says that while most police officers lean to the right, those who wish to be upwardly mobile in their careers must mock the left wing point of views espoused by elected officials.  He's also dubious of Beck's claim that not one LAPD rank and file member supports AB 1070 even though the LA Police Protective League recently published a statement on it's blog saying "We think that everyone agrees that removing illegal aliens, who perpetrate crimes in our country, will make us all safer."
