Sunday One-Liners and Open Threadies
One sentence at a time, that's all we ask;
-Doug McIntyre on the sad state of the GOP in California.
-Sen. Bernie Sanders on MSNBC suspending Keith Olbermann.
-I'm not sure what this means, but evidently, it's very important.
-Candidate filing for LA City Council election 2011 begins on Monday.
-Please visit my new blog that covers the behind the scenes shadiness of a developer that has lost his mind, and the PR firm (Consensus Inc) that is being paid to make his dreams come true.
-In California, at least, experience counts.
- And finally, Goodbye Meg, we'll miss you! Much Love, television and radio station advertising departments across the state;

Republicans in California are out of touch. They just don't get it.
Buh-bye! Go Cooley!

Still not looking very good for Kamala Harris. The "What Would Reagan Do?" blog has conducted an extensive analysis of the 2M uncounted votes that will decided the outcome of the Attorney General race, and it appears that Steve Cooley will emerge the victor.
Cooley had a lead of 24,276 votes as of 12:49am on Sunday morning, with the late votes continuing to break his way.

Consensus Planning is not going to be happy about this Joe B, I think they were hoping that you'd stay out of this fight. Good for you!

About quarter million votes in Orange County still not counted.

After years of explaining Bush and complaining about Obama, this would be an excellent time for Higby to make a list of what he would like his Republican dominated House to do in the next couple of years.
Then he can hold them accountable 2 years from now, be disappointed, and reregister as an Independent.

Did Arcade Fire give the Whitman campaign permission to use their song in this video?

Follow up to 9:57 a.m., Cooley is now 37,000 ahead as of early evening reporting. It looks like he is the winner.

The CAGOP has been dead for 15 years.
They've made no attempts to return to the mainstream after 187.
They are now mostly a bunch of old people, mostly white, sticking to rural conservatism.
This is CA, Hollywood, you can't be conservative in such an environment.
Embrace the social culture of CA, gay marriage for example, promote diversity, have a solution for illegal immigration, not just complaints.
AND, get rid of the same old ass clowns that have been running the party for over 10 years.
Yes some ass clown will tell me about how Jane Barrett took over in 2009, but how has that worked?
Bottom line, the CA GOP is hypocritical. Small government, etc., yet have the govt involved in social issues. Take a chance on change, yet still continue with the same leaders.
Complain about Dems in Sactown but offer no alternative plan. And have no PR machine.
Also, lets not forget that the CA GOP made the deal with the Dems and Berman redistricting machine that led to no turnovers in SAC for the last 9 years.
AND I AM A REGISTERED REPUBLICAN.

No Hot Sheet?
WHERE IS THE EFFORT?

Joe,
Why haven't you written about the two hottest topics this morning?
1. A group of Dems asked Pelosi to not seek the Minority leadership role in the House.
2. AARP, which supported Obamacare, has HIKED THE INSURANCE RATES FOR ITS OWN EMPLOYEES!
Why no word from you?
We all know that if this was bad Republican news, or good Democrat news, you'd have been all over it.
Why are you so quiet about these subjects this morning? They're both all over the news.

Joe's purpose is not to provide balanced commentary. No commentator's job is. It's like asking Higby to print something nice about liberals. But if you view Mayor Sam in total, you're getting postings that cover all sides of the issue if everyone is doing their part.
If they aren't, readers like you can post commentaries ... instead of asking others to do it for you.

Does it really matter if Nancy Pelosi leads the Dems? Whoever the pick is handcuffed by the same "please-everyone-all-the-time" that will keep them from ever beig in power for more than a couple years at a time.
And if they do take back the house, it's through deception . . . "we're not REALLY liberals; we're just DRAWN that way." Six months in office, and their true colors also come out.

2:03... I could make the case for keeping or replacing Nancy Pelosi.
But, how will it look if the Dems drop the person who delivered on, practically, every liberal (dems) policy demand of the last 40+ years?
If they drop her they will be cornered on health care, and a repeal will be more than just possible. Are the Dems admitting the last 4 years were a mistake?
They can't drop her. I wouldn't be surprised if the party leaders talked about that and that's why she decided to stay on.
Come on mayor sam bloggers... lets go. Lets talk about 2011 elections and if and how the Berman/Waxman machine will be able to manipulate the redistricting process. What's loretta going to do if she has no one to give $20K to!?
