As I Had Mentioned...Nury Martinez Dances With Corruption

By Daniel Guss

@TheGussReport - There is no particularly polite way to say "I told you so," so after Googling for a variety of alternatives, "as I had mentioned" seemed like the best option.

In a piece that I wrote for Mayor Sam back on October 26, 2021, this column correctly predicted L.A. City Council president Nury Martinez would appoint her controversial predecessor Herb Wesson to oversee Council District 10 after forcing out recently elected Mark Ridley-Thomas from the job upon his federal corruption indictment.

Well, let's fast forward to the column's conclusion:

(Federally indicted former Councilmember) Jose Huizar may be dumb, but he ain't stupid.  As someone who went to Berkeley, Princeton and UCLA Law, he is probably very good at keeping notes.

Eric Garcetti, Mask-less at Super Bowl LVI

By Daniel Guss

@TheGussReport - Most of Los Angeles already knows that L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti is a congenital liar who will mislead, misstate and misrepresent for any reason or no reason at all.

Despite his ridiculous claim two weeks ago that he held his breath while mask-less and posing for photos at the NFC Championship Game, here he is mask-less, not posing for photos, at Super Bowl LVI.

(L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, Mask-less Again, at Super Bowl LVI)

It makes you wonder whether he is trying to get President Joe Biden to withdraw his nomination to become Ambassador to India.

It's either that, or he has an incessant jealousy about how Inglewood landed the stadium he couldn't build, draw two NFL teams that were already playing in the City of LA and has now served as host to sports' biggest stage: the Super Bowl.

** Blogger's Notes: Its Official! After multiple mayoral terms of failure via the likes of Antonio Villar and Eric Garcetti, the "Political Hamlet of Los Angeles (Developer Rick Caruso)", has discarded his bloggin brand, via his formal pulling of Campaign Documents yesterday. With the formality of Caruso's Filing for the 2022 Mayoral Campaign documented (via his newly created Twitter Account at RickCarusoLA), the Mayor Sam Sister City News Group has learned the following;
First, Candidate Caruso has bought commercial time tomorrow during the Super Bowl Telecast, to promote his Mayoral Vision for Los Angeles.
Second, Candidate Caruso will self-finance his campaign well into eight figures ($10-25 Million Dollars).
The expected (and deliberate role out of) Caruso's Mayoral Campaign, has created an immediate buzz among the Angelino Electorate, which adverse ramifications for the "Floundering Foursome" of City Attorney Mike Feuer, Congresswoman Karen Bass, CD-15 City Clowncilman Joe Buscanio and CD-14 Absentee Officeholder Kevin A. Leon.
Predictably, the El Segundo-based, "Official Stenographer of Record (for the K.A. Leon Campaign)", has devolved (once again), into class warfare narrative, via its labeling of Caruso as the "Billionaire Candidate".
That stated, we will endeavor to keyboard a missive for Monday, regarding all the last-minute filings for all the offices in the forthcoming 2022 LA Municipal Elections----Scott Johnson in CD-14.

"Ted Lieu, Is Everything Okay?"

 By Daniel Guss

@TheGussReport - "...What we want to know is what was going on when Southern California Congressman Ted Lieu Tweeted laudatory thoughts about President Joe Biden, citing American job creation statistics from a dubious Nigerian blog that said American independence was first declared on 'July 4, 1774.'"

Or that President "Buden" is the 45th President of the United States.

We're no math majors, but if we got our guzintas right, 45 was President Donald Trump.

It'll make more sense if you check out the rest of the story on my Substack.

"Eric Garcetti - LA's Dishonest Crock of Chowder"

By Daniel Guss

@TheGussReport - Let's start the day with a bold prediction: LA Mayor Eric Garcetti's nomination to be U.S. Ambassador to India will go down in flames due to his habitual dishonesty, including allegedly lying under oath in both civil litigation and while giving testimony to the U.S. Senate for that nomination.

But small lies often mask serious ones.

And all along, Garcetti was continually endorsed by the Los Angeles Times Editorial Board and allegedly protected by the newspaper's reporters.

Oh, but it's so much worse than that now, as Garcetti's former Communications Director Naomi Seligman says that the Mayor should be indicted for perjury; a story even the Times can't ignore.

Eric Garcetti, Falsus In Omnibus

By Daniel Guss

@TheGussReport - The Latin phrase falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus is one that you'll only hear in legal circles or from the keyboard of a raconteur.  It means that if a person lies about one thing, you can reasonably conclude that they're lying about everything.

Five years ago tomorrow, the Los Angeles Times gave an unwarranted 46th birthday gift to Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; an endorsement for a second term as the city's chief executive, despite 16 years of astonishing failure, lies and a corrupt City Hall (and its typhus outbreak) as a Councilmember, City Council President and Mayor.

But today, Garcetti has once again proven to the nation that he is willing to lie about anything, for any reason or no reason at all.  And thanks to us trusting the Times, he has once again shown the entire nation what disengaged rubes are are for following its advice.

I explain further in my new Substack.
