Classic MayorSam: Doug McIntyre Schools Annoying Democrat on Mayor Villaraigosa

On the eve of Barack Obama's big convention speech, here's a piece by Red Spot from earlier in this year that shows Obama nor even his top lieutenant, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, apparently didn't know what an embarrassment even LA Democrats think our Mayor is. On a Fox News segment, KABC talkradio host Doug McIntyre tries to explain it to Wasserman-Schultz, who will have none of it.

KABC 790 AM Morning Show Host Doug McIntyre's "political education" of DNC Chairperson Congresswoman Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz on the reigning "11% Mayor of Los Angeles" Antonio Ramon Villar, continues its viral national ascension. On Friday, Doug gave the above pre-dawn interview with "Fox and Friends" on DNC Chairperson's sought out interview to discuss the Democratic National Committee's selection of the "visionary" City Terrace native as the "chairperson" of its National Convention in September.
You can link here to hear the "borderline offensive" retort of Doug McIntyre to Congresswoman Blabbermouth-Schultz's attempt to spin revisionist facts on the achievements (or lack of) of Mayor Villar. One can ponder as we near the Democratic Convention in September, how many times McIntyre's exchange with the Florida Congresswoman will be replayed to a national audience?

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Friday

When the Clowncil does something good we have to give them credit.  They've rejected a DWP request to increase water rates telling the utility they weren't buying the pitch.  A spokesman for Council President Eric Garcetti said that following the DWP's last attempt to bamboozle on rate increases their credibility is still pretty low.  DWP can come back in a month and try again.

R.I.P. Tony Snow

Cancer claims ex-Bush press secretary Tony Snow

Douglass K. Daniel
Associated Press
July 11, 2008

Tony Snow, a conservative writer and commentator who cheerfully sparred with reporters in the White House briefing room during a stint as President Bush's press secretary, died Saturday of colon cancer. He was 53.

"America has lost a devoted public servant and a man of character," President Bush said in a statement from Camp David, where he was spending the weekend. "It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day. He brought wit, grace, and a great love of country to his work."
Snow died at 2 a.m. at Georgetown University Hospital, according to former employer Fox News.

Snow, who served as the first host of the television news program "Fox News Sunday" from 1996 to 2003, would later say that in the Bush administration he was enjoying "the most exciting, intellectually aerobic job I'm ever going to have."

Snow was working for Fox News Channel and Fox News Radio when he replaced Scott McClellan as press secretary in May 2006 during a White House shake-up. Unlike McClellan, who came to define caution and bland delivery from the White House podium, Snow was never shy about playing to the cameras.

With a quick-from-the-lip repartee, broadcaster's good looks and a relentlessly bright outlook — if not always a command of the facts — he became a popular figure around the country to the delight of his White House bosses.

He served just 17 months as press secretary, a tenure interrupted by his second bout with cancer. In 2005 doctors had removed his colon and he began six months of chemotherapy. In March 2007 a cancerous growth was removed from his abdominal area and he spent five weeks recuperating before returning to the White House.

Pre-dawn missives for Friday

LAPD Officers Chuck Garcia and Ryan Moreno may shake the foundation of law enforcement in the City of Los Angeles and City Hall. Backed by the Police Protective League, Gracia and Moreno are fighting against the supporters of the Grape Street Crips and sadly their "friends in city government.

Last night, "Fox News at 10", earned an Emmy for local reporting, but more important, shine the light on the fraud that is Gang Intervention Programs in the City of Los Angeles.

For those in denial about the influence that Street Gangs have on their local populance and in extention their political overseers, one must see tonight's "Fox News at 10" second and last part exclusive on the connection between the Grape Street Crips and Councilwoman Janice Hahn.

And the reward for Officers Garcia and Moreno? A orchestrated campaign of complaints from the parents and supporters of gang members who control the drug trade and sadly, positions of leadership within the community, that led to their transfare and lawsuit.

Lastly, for those who still believe that the cops are the problem? Then engage the fine officers at Hollenbeck and bring up Lupe Andrade. Then you may grasps how gangs are evolving to survive in 21st Century Los Angeles.
PART ONE
PART TWO
Press Release from Councilwoman Janice Hahn on allegations by gang members.

Responce to Fox News report on April 30 by Councilwoman Janice Hahn.

Post mortems galore on the "First day in May" or a "Day without a Kobylt".
"OLD GREY HAG ON SPRING STREET"
"MOLDY GREEN SHEET"
"CENTRAL CITY EAST"
"BLOG DOWNTOWN"
"LA EASTSIDE"
"WITNESS LA"
"LOS VOZ DE AZTLAN" (nut jobs come in all colors)
"MINUTEMAN PROJECT" (for Don Q. and his "internal friends")

The buzz is all about "SAVING THE TACO TRUCK!!"

Has the "EDUCATION TUTOR" to Tony V. Ruben Cortines, "CROSSED THE T" on the Admiral Brewer era at LAUSD?

What candidate for State Office just traded his address on Alexandra in the 90027 for a new mail drop on S. Flower, Downtown? You may recognize the DNA linkage.

This is for Density junkies like Tony V., Ed Reyes, Huizar, the above mention carpetbagger and their "Tree hugging friends", its all about the water. With rationing on the way to becoming reality, maybe it was a good thing that only 8,500 showed up to march downtown.

The "KENNEDY REPUBLICAN" may wish for you to "pay to drive" but thanks to his "brother in law", may lose the choice to fly to work.

......and in closing, what once was happy, heady times after the Recall of Gray Davis now are the blunt reality that we elected a "CALIFORNIA KENNEDY", who has driven the "fiscal vehicle" of the State of California off the bridge of "fiscal responsibility" into the deep waters of crippling deficits that he can't emerge from without damage. That damage will come in the form of new taxes that a "GIRLY MAN" would disapprove of.

BREAKING NEWS!!!: FOX KTTV 11 to run exclusive detailing working relationship between Councilwoman Janice Hahn and Grape Street Crips

Morning update:

Here is the link to the story which is sure to provoke discussion and renew calls for an full audit of all gang programs.

According to KFI's Eric Leonard, Fox TV will run a exclusive story tonight and tomorrow at 10:00PM regarding Gang Intervention Fraud and Waste involving Councilwoman Janice Hahn and the Grape Street Crips.

Just before City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo filed his Injunction against the Grape Street Crips, the Office of Councilwomen Janice Hahn hires Crips members including Steven Myrick who during his time as an employee of the City of Los Angeles Gang Interventionist was charged with rape and double dip as an active leading member of the Grape Street Crip Gang.

Once the Injunction was in place Myrick filed complaints against the LAPD who were well verse with his gang activities. But through political pressure??, the LAPD officers who were the subject of the complaint by Myrick were transfer out of the gang suppression unit.

This cause suppression measures efforts to nearly cease due to concerns by LAPD officers about retaliation for their efforts from the council office. In addition, sensitive information on police officers was supplied to Grape Street Gang members that enable them to build complaint cases against LAPD officers.

Two of the LAPD officers involved in this case have file suit against the department over this affair.

This exclusive will run tonight and Thursday on Fox News at Ten.

Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

Is Eric Garcetti on Barack Obama's short list for Vice Presidential candidates? Not likely but he joined City Controller Laura Chick at a rally to support the popular Presidential candidate.

The LA Downtown News has come out with their "80 in 08" list of people, projects and events that "will power Downtown this year." This blog was honored to be on that list under the category of "five blogs downtowners will visit frequently in 2008."

latinopoliticsblog.com questions the strategic wisdom of the Hillary Clinton campaign having Mayor Villaraigosa tag along in New Hampshire. More importantly - the blog drives home - why isn't the Mayor at home solving problems instead of playing Presidential politics out of state?

So much for "We Report You Decide" at Fox News. Maverick Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul has been bounced from their on-air debates as well as third party candidates. An activist group, rockthedebates.org is pressing to get pledges from the Democratic and Republican candidates to debate Libertarians, Greens and other third party candidates. So far Paul and Mike Huckabee have signed on; Barack Obama, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney are opposed. What are they afraid of?

The one candidate who could take down the incumbent in the 35th Congressional District here in California. Ted Hayes has announced his candidacy for the seat currently held by Maxine Waters.

There's a slew of propositions on the ballot next month that deal with Indian Gaming with some tribes and their money on one side and some on the others and some of them lined up with horse tracks, all in the name of stopping competition. This all points to the fact that Indian Gaming has become a big scam and if we're going to have gambling in California, lets open up casino ownership to anyone.

Like many LA denizens, bloger Los Angelista finds lot of reasons to hate LA - including gangs, traffic and Mayor Villaraigosa - but every reason to love her own neighborhood.

We covered the story of the Disney Company turning NIMBY when someone wanted to build condos near Disneyland. Looks like Disney may have run the developer off with the threat of a ballot measure to shut them down.
