This is exactly why she will be the next Mayor of Los Angeles. All those with short memories who have turned against her need to remember and take a drive up Foothill Blvd. What's missing, thats right, Home Depot. If not for Wendy the doors would be open. In every community of CD2 she left a legacy of service. Not just words and a few scheckls tossed around to buy support.

ODD, I don't remember Wendy saying a DAMN thing about this Gold Card program when she was a City Councilmember.
Contrary to 6:05pm, this is why I think she WON'T be the next Mayor.
SHE DIDN'T SAY A WORD ABOUT THE PROGRAM WHEN SHE WAS A COUNCILMEMBER.
So I ask the news papers to do a public records request to see how often she used the Gold Card Service when she was in council?
SHE IS SO FAKE AND ALL This will haunt her.

I am in CD2 and Krekorian has set the bar on legacy of service! He has done more in the first 18 months then she has ever done!
To think what CD2 would have been if Greuel provided 1/2 the service Krekorian provides!!!
Greuel will need Krekorians Support before she gets my vote and before she can even win in her old district for her Mayoral race!

I do not think that Wendy will be our next mayor. No way. She's all talk. Eric would have been my choice but if Zev decides to run, I'm all over his campaign. We need him.

LA Slimes reporting Greuel voted to approve Gold Gard when she was a council member and used it. Funny the council members now are going on record saying they never used it. Whenever those who filed public records document get the info please post. What a bunch of hypocrites
Was Greuel not chair of the Transportation Committee? When she approved the Gold Card?
She was also chair of T committee when she approved the addition of red light cameras, placement selected by the council members and not reports.
It must be easy finding Waste Fraud and Abuse, when it was you who did all the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse in the Council.
What a plan F-up our city as clowncilmember then got to controller ans point out what you f-ed up and say look at what the council is doing, then go to mayor (not going to happen) and Rayaly screw the city.
Greuel is making it easy for opp researchers to find shit she f-ed up in council.

My point when was the last time valley voters actually gave a damn about the malfeasance of council members?
The same ass clowns get elected and re-elected every time.
The prospect of Greuel losing are because she was Clowncilmember and therefore responsible for the fiscal mess will not be an obstacle.
That is unless someone really spends the MILLIONS necessary to tar and feather her in TV/Radio spots.
Otherwise, the tv news media and the two "major" newspapers will tout her and push her to be the first female mayor and the first from the valley.
Wendy the female version of Antonio Villar the Mayor of Lost Angeles.
So much corruption in City Hall and no jail time. We can't even get rid of Alarcon who represents a District he does not live in.

Alarcon will be allowed to term out.. then he'll plea, then he'll serve as a chief of staff and collect FAT city pension 99.99% of the workers in this city will never get or qualify for.
But hours after Greuel's press conference, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's office struck back at the controller, alleging that "not only had Greuel known about the program when she served on the City Council, but her staff had made use of it".
The mayor's office released documents indicating that Greuel, who had chaired the council's Transportation Committee, voted to renew the contract of the company that maintains the program and had been briefed on its operations.
"As chair of the City Council's Transportation Committee then-Councilmember Greuel was briefed on all aspects of the department's operations and was fully aware of the Gold Card Desk," said Villaraigosa spokeswoman Sarah Hamilton.

It will be interesting to see what transpires during campaign season. Each candidate will probably bash the others.
What will Wendy say about Eric and vice versa?
Isn't there something "criminal" about what the council members did with the gold card? Didn't they basically mess around with a legal document? Like John and Ken on KFI said yesterday and many of us agree we hope the reporters dig deep into this mess and get the paper trail and out those council members and political friends they helped. Wonder if AEG Tim Lieweke got off a ticket?
Eric for Mayor? Who was the council member who with the help of his father walked Prop R passed the Ethics Commission, sold out the taxpayers to the Lobbyist and gave the councilmembers an extra term in office? Prop R will be the anchor around Eric's ankle. No way will someone who has done what he has done become Mayor, no matter how much money the special interest funnel into his accounts.

WE DO NEED REAL AUDITS THERE ARE PROBLEMS AND AUDITS ARE THE WAY TO DO IT. UNFORTUNELY WENDY GREUEL IS PLAYING POLITICAL BALL HERE. EVEN HER DRIVE-BY AUDITS SHOW THERE ARE PROBLEMS BUT NO ONE IS LOOKING INSIDE WHERE THE REAL DIRT IS. WHO OWNS WHO, WHO BOUGHT WHO? THAT'S THE WHERE THE MEAT IS. THEY ALL HAVE SOME DIRT ON THEM YOU DON'T WIN ELECTIONS IF THE INSIDE POWER BROKERS DON'T WANT YOU, JUST LOOK AT PAST ELECTIONS ALL INSIDER INCUMBENTS. THE PRESS AND MEDIA ARE PART OF THE RACKET TO BEND HOW YOU THINK. LOOK AT WHO IS BRANDED AND WHO IS NOT.
What we really need is a smoking gun - A log that shows how many tickets were "taken care of" with this program and which council offices, other elected officials, and private parties called these requests in.
In some instances, this could be obtained by a cleverly worded public records act request. If that doesn't work, a detailed federal investigation would definitely do the trick.
On another note to the campaign strategists who are posting here, the budget problems were known and discussed since 2005.
Both Greuel, Garcetti, and their colleagues were part of the decision making team that voted 99.993% in unison and deserve much of the blame for the problems that we are facing today (Yes I know the voters also share blame by putting them in office).
A paper trail would be nice to see who used the card and when and who got their tickets dismissed.
But media has already reported that there is no paper trail. No one knows who used the card.
Sounds Fishy. I bet a paper trail turns up around election time.
