Too embarrassing. The NC hasn't had any progress. When is the Mayor going to realize he's wasting tax payer dollars( $37,000)hoping the NC will spend responsibly. Isn't Marlene and Michelle ( Treasurer) associated to the non profit at Cesar Chavez Elementary? This is a shame and embarrassment. LAUSD should be made aware. So sad.August 11, 2014 2:43 PM

Former student of Cesar Chavez and All St. youth said:
I was a student at All ST. church and I have seen her in action. I'm not saying I saw her taking the money but my family have talked to people from the church confirming the embezzlement.
I was a student in her and Joshua's confirmation church and they both asked parents for A LOT. AND I DO MEAN A LOT OF MONEY. Almost $700 each child in the church and it was ridiculous amount of money.. I was furious of course and even more furious that this money didn't even go to the church. Also she has also done this to another church, Our Lady and i'm sure she's doing the same thing at Ceaser Chavez. She lives right next door to the school and is feared by the neighborhood children since she tends to you yell at them to get away from her home and children. I have even heard her fight with the neighborhood kids and call them cuss words.
The fact that she's allowed to work with children is horrifying and I for one want her removed from the school, the city and the state if possible. She also manipulates her authorities into getting what she wants which is why she always gets away with whatever she does. There is something seriously psychologically wrong with her and needs to be dealt with immediately.August 13, 2014 6:40 PM

Mitchelle Corzantes A.K.A MITCHELLE ARROYO. Apparently she has removed much of the pictures and info on the Internet but info on Mitchell Arroyo can be cross referenced with

Former LA Wave Newspaper Columnist Betty Pleasant can inspire commentary.

** Even as a "Former Soulvine Columnist", Betty can bring out the emotions within the comments.

What a shame Mayor Sam. You didn't do your homework. During the primary for the 62nd Assembly race, Ms. Pleasant berated candidate Autumn Burke, every chance she got and remained on the Wave staff. A candidate supported by Mark Ridley-Thomas. Pleasant also disagreed with MRT's LAUSD candidate, Alex Johnson. She continued to be published under "the bottom line" as opposed to her regular "soulvine" column. This article, by author Erin Aubry Kaplan, clearly says Ms. Pleasant resigned from the Wave two weeks ago. Meaning she chose to leave. The Wave allowed her to bash two candidates of MRT's so who can really tell what is the true nature of why she is no longer with the Wave. Betty Pleasant regularly bashed MRT candidate, Autumn Burke, for the 62nd Assembly, and remained on the Wave staff. She then turned to bash Alex Johnson, candidate for LAUSD and continued to submit articles which were posted under "the bottom line" instead of the soulvine. What is clear is there is another article, you must have missed, which clearly says Betty Pleasant chose to resign from her post a couple of weeks ago.
