Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday
Two City Hall Strongmen come together to jointly cry UNCLE as an apparent agreement between Mayor Eric Garcetti, the City Clowncil Central Committee and IBEW's Strongman Brian "D'Arcy Rizzo", on the continuing funding of the DWP/IBEW Joint Job Training and Safety Non-Profits, is ironed out behind closed City Hall doors.
The two reigning City Hall Strongmen, City Clowncil Central Committee General Secretary Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson (top) and IBEW's Brian "D'Arcy Rizzo" (bottom) agree on conditions (including auditing) for the continued funding of "Working Californians", whoops, the Joint DWP/IBEW Job Safety and Training Non-Profits.
The Standoff is almost over and will DWP Ratepayers be better for it?
Face with continuing pressure from the City Hall Troika of Mayor Garcetti, City Attorney Mike Feuer and City Controller Ron Galperin, City Clowncil Central Committee General Secretary Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson (along with Clowncil colleagues), crafted a "Joint Compromise" that allows for future, continuous funding of the Joint DWP/IBEW Joint Safety and Job Training Non-Profits (with conditions including audits).
As the Daily News notes .........., Mayor Eric Garcetti has embraced the City Council proposal. “This is about my reform agenda for the DWP that was part of my back-to-basics principles,” he said.
Did the Mayor actually mean that we are "Back to the Basics", in agreeing to compromises that are paramount in giving the likes of "D'Arcy Rizzo" the opportunity to save face, without fully accounting for the $40 Million Dollars in Ratepayer's proceeds, that have not met with an open and transparent audit?
** A Bloggin Public Service Announcement to "CD 14 Homemakers" .........., as Downtown News Editor and reigning "Scribe of Wit Jon Regardie reports, City Clowncil Central Committee Bad Boy Jose Huizar, has a "contributing thing" for "Homemakers" within CD 14 or those connected to potential donors to his reelection campaign as excerpted ....... The donor list is a fun read. Sylvia Patsaouras, listed as a homemaker, also gave $700, though she wasn’t the only one. A whopping 62 individuals identified as homemakers in disclosure statements contributed in the recent round, providing a combined $39,950. Fifty-two of these were max contributions, so if Huizar suddenly pens a motion for Homemaker Appreciation Day, you know why.
More like ........, well, just beware of a politico knocking twice while the hubby is at work.
** Former CD 9 City Council and Mayor Sam-endorsed Candidate David Roberts, has found his way into a City Hall Office by accepting the position of "Director of Economic Development and Planning" for CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino.
** Not sure if any notice (surely the "The West LA and LA Times Observed Blogger" Kevin "Westside White Guy" Roderick did), but the "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" has a tear in her left eye as former Failure Mayor Antonio Villar Deputy Austin "Mini Riordan II" Beutner has been named the new Publisher of the "Former Fishwrap of Record".
Your thoughts ..............
