Home Depot Battle Comes Home To Sunland-Tujunga!
This Thursday, July 19, 4:30 PM, at Mt Gleason Middle School in Sunland, the Planning Commission will once again attempt to hear the appeal brought forth by Home Depot over the recent revocation of their building permits in Sunland-Tujunga, and the reclassification of their "project" as a "Project"
( yes, the capital "P" means all the difference in the world).
The Planning Commission tried to hear the appeal back in June in Van Nuys, but largely due to Home Depot bringing in 3 busloads of paid supporters, the Fire Marshall was forced to shut the Hearing down, and the Planning Commission was forced to reschedule the event at a larger venue.
The larger venue now happens to be a school auditorium in Sunland-Tujunga, the very community that the proposed Home Depot will affect!
How's that for a bit of irony?
Now for the burning questions..........
Will Home Depot repeat their same mistake and bus in more paid supporters, most of which,
have not a clue why they are there , except to pick up some cash?
Will Home Depot continue to try and play the race card against the community, simply because
local residents want the Specific Plan upheld, and need a general merchandise store, not a regional warehouse big box? Apparently, not wanting a Home Depot= Racist. Wanting good community planning=Racist. Upholding the Specific Plan=Racist.

Actually, the two women holding the signs are from Iran. They are Armenian. Hence, the signs being in Farsi and Armenian. They are mother and daughter and live adjacent to the site.

He is responsible for the Do-It-Center scandal that caused Jim Alger to be banned from the Neighborhood Council system, he harassed and alienated Miner to the point where he shut down the old Foothills Forum, and he's now cussing at fellow community leaders and threatening them. Joe B. has less class than anyone at Home Depot, Dakota Communications, or Latham & Watkins.

The meeting quickly turned incendiary after South Pasadena resident Dianna Perez, a supporter of the hardware mega-store, told the audience that the region had a history of racist acts, including cross burnings by the Ku Klux Klan. Perez accused one member of the audience of making comments about the immigration status of the largely Latino crowd who filed in wearing orange Home Depot T-shirts.
"The man next to me said, 'I should have brought my INS badge,' " Perez said.
The crowd erupted in fury over the Klan reference, with commission President Victor Sampson struggling to keep the meeting in order.

The new mail ads from Home Depot, someone needs to fire this up, the ad is lying and dishonest. They do not list the N. Hollywood Store and they do not list all of the hardware and lumber supply stores in this 6 mile Radius. Lies after lies. Why do you think Home Depot stock does fine? Cut, Cut, and more Cut backs, wages and staff. Also store cleaning and up keep (cut backs), all these will show a profit, but at the expense of there product and service.
If you see this mailer for home depot look at the circle and see how much mountains are the are and how much is actual residents. Now imagine this circle around the other home depots on the map and also on the bottom of the circle there is a home depot, now you can be assured that those residents will go to that home depot. This is leaving a small area that would go to this Home depot, Not worth it, actually we are doing home depots stockholders a favor by trying to stop them, this will save them a lot of money…
But when you have to lye like this mailer, something is wrong… (YES it is home depot)
