ZUMA DOGG LAUSD "Public Comment" Thread

Since Zuma Dogg predicts the new "mayoral controlled" LAUSD board will be trying to reduce the meetings to once a month, and limit public input even further (you already have to call in 24 hours ahead, even though the "Brown Act" is California State law; and the whole enchilada of "Riorden" style school board takeover tricks to make sure the money ends up in the wrong hands; then they will pass on the difference to YOU with more and more bonds (don't pass them).

I now open up the blog for public comment regarding LAUSD. Concerned parents, administrators, and insiders who know EXACTLY what wheels are in motion over at the shady-as-hell LAUSD school board under Monica Garcia. She scares the shiznit out of me, the way she is running things so far. AND NOW, ZUMA DOGG WILL START THE PUBLIC COMMMENT WITH TWO WORDS, FOR ANTONIO, ELI, RIOREND, GARCIA AND THOSE WHO WILL ATTEMPT TO "WET THEIR BEAKS" WITH THE KIDS SCHOOL MONEY:

INSPECTOR and GENERAL...and let me be specific about the GENERAL...He's there, you can't eliminate his position, and ZD knows how you get rid of him...YOU CUT THE BUDGET. And when ZD posts the rest of the crap you plan to pull, and post it before you pull it...EVERYONE'S EYES WILL BE OPENED AND YOUR BAG A TRICKS WILL TURN IN TO A BAG OF SH*T.

CITIZENS ALERT...CITIZENS ALERT...Call you Councilmember, mayor, LAUSD board member, governor, assmeblymembers, et al and tell them, "HEY PAL...NO WAY I'M GOING TO VOTE 'YES' FOR ONE MORE PENNY OF BOND MONEY FOR THE SCHOOLS UNTIL THERE IS SOME ACTUAL OVERSIGHT AND ACCOUNTABILITY." And when you run through the annual "order of business" without running it through committee, or the public...that's a real f*ckin' problem in ZD's book, the inspector general's book and in the mind's of the voters book...DO NOT PLAN ON ANY MORE BOND MONEY FROM VOTERS ON THIS OR ANY OF YOUR "MAGIC BULLET TRAIN, SUBWAY TO THE SEA, FANTASY LAND B.S."...THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ANY OF THESE ACTUAL POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS, WHILE WE HAVE A BUNCH OF POLITICIANS TAPPING INTO THE RESERVIOR AND DRAINING THE POOL OF FUNDS.

O.K., that's more than two words...but it was based on two words...don't be so picky.
NOW, please weigh in, and don't give me that mayoral "maybe we NEED to do it this way now, Zuma...we NEED to break some eggs...they've failed for too long" faulty logic argument...just because the system is broke, doesn't mean y'all can exploit the weakness and suck the life out of the school system like a shady vampire" spin.

Zuma Dogg,

We are so lucky to have you here in LA watching the sleazebags downtown for all of us...

Listen, I live here near Venice Beach, and there's a lot of foot traffic past my house every day, and I thought, what a great idea it would be to post a bunch of flyers in front that people can take, opposing the condo-ization of the ocean front walk. Sort of like realtors put out those advertisement flyers in a bin out in front of the house. Maybe even post them around the area, hand them out on the boardwalk...

My main target is the Thornton development, of which I've taken a bunch of photos to put on the flyer...Do you have any suggestions of what to include? Should I give Bill Rosendahl's contact info? Someone in planning?

Do you know of any other similar developments in the works that threaten the retail/free speech character of the oceanfront walk? What would be the most useful thing I can ask supporters to do, to maintain the character of the oceanfront walk as-is?

Do you want to be involved or quoted?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

Sec. 67A.1. Prohibiting The Use Of Cell Phones, Pagers And Similar Sound-Producing Electrical Devices At And During Public Meetings.
Sec. 67.1 Findings And Purpose.
The Board of Supervisors and the People of the City and County of San Francisco find and declare:
(a) Government"s duty is to serve the public, reaching its decisions in full view of the public.
(b) Elected officials, commissions, boards, councils and other agencies of the City and County exist to conduct the people"s business. The people do not cede to these entities the right to decide what the people should know about the operations of local government.
(c) Although California has a long tradition of laws designed to protect the public"s access to the workings of government, every generation of governmental leaders includes officials who feel more comfortable conducting public business away from the scrutiny of those who elect and employ them. New approaches to government constantly offer public officials additional ways to hide the making of public policy from the public. As government evolves, so must the laws designed to ensure that the process remains visible.
(d) The right of the people to know what their government and those acting on behalf of their government are doing is fundamental to democracy, and with very few exceptions, that right supersedes any other policy interest government officials may use to prevent public access to information. Only in rare and unusual circumstances does the public benefit from allowing the business of government to be conducted in secret, and those circumstances should be carefully and narrowly defined to prevent public officials from abusing their authority.
(e) Public officials who attempt to conduct the public"s business in secret should be held accountable for their actions. Only a strong Open Government and Sunshine Ordinance, enforced by a strong Sunshine Ordinance Task Force, can protect the public"s interest in open government.
(f) The people of San Francisco enact these amendments to assure that the people of the City remain in control of the government they have created.
(g) Private entities and individuals and employees and officials of the City and County of San Francisco have rights to privacy that must be respected. However, when a person or entity is before a policy body or passive meeting body, that person, and the public, has the right to an open and public process. (Added by Ord. 265-93, App. 8/18/93; amended by Proposition G, 11/2/99)
Sec. 67.2. Citation.
This Chapter may be cited as the San Francisco Sunshine Ordinance. (Added by Ord. 265-93, App. 8/18/93; amended by Proposition G, 11/2/99)

You said
"You are so illiterate, the Brown Act is simply a California rule."

My response:

"BROWN aCT IS ONLY ONE OF MANY "SUNSHINE LAWS' IN MANY STATES AND COUNTIES"

I said you couldnt read.

I used San Francisco because it is in the State of California rather than the many other states who have these laws. This was only to aid your understanding.

And "Annonymous' your comprehension reeks of "faulty logic".

Would you like me to post the "Sunshine Laws" from the majority of States so you can both practice working on your comprehension?

If you will go back to the Zuma post, notice that he states that The Brown Act is a law of the United States. It is not, it is a California law, only. Of course there are others, but that is ot the point. For example, California also has the Bagley-Keene Act, a much more restrictive law that applies to State Commissions, as opposed to local bodies.

But Zuma is an illiterate fool that wildly quotes stuff he knows nothing about to try to tweak the public mechanism. It has its place, but not every day, every item, ad nauseum.

He is a huge time waster who lives at he edge of a civil society that tolerates such foolishness in the name of the First Amendment and Free Speech.

In a less civil society, his head would be on a spike at the Gates to the City.

Legitimate citizens who wish to be heard are shortchanged because of his antics and one day soon there will be a law passed to limit such behavior similar to the laws limiting vexatious litigants.

His blogging is something different; no one has to listen to this drivel; but in a public meeting, it gets old, fast.

All these haters are obsessed with attacking Zuma instead of the issue. We all know Antonio has a dictator mentality just like Hitler did. Why didn't Monica Garcia or Jose Huizar do anything to help the kids when Huizar was prezz? Reporters should dig and find out who is getting all the LAUSD contracts and how many of those developers donated to political campaigns. Huizar shows many developers when he ran for CM. And what about Bellmont Higg. Damn after spending millions to build it was stopped for years because of toxic wastes now its being built again. Does anyone know if they cleaned it up? We love JOhn & Ken who has thousands of listeners and getting more everyday. People who never listened are now routinely during drive time.

July 15, 2007 6:39 AM

To 6:39, who just discovered Belmont: Gee, I thought the reason no one talked about it any more was that it was written about to death, several years ago, Rip Van Winkle.

But since you say that "our Mayor is a dictator, like Hitler," and wonder why no one has noticed this...well, I guess we somehow don't equate a man's infidelity with genocidal tendencies to kill millions of people, or try to fix the very school problems that led to a Belmont and cronyism in awarding LAUSD contracts. Listen, Miss/Mister, you'd better be a hell of a lot more sparing in your use of the "like Hitler" crap: it's always the anti-semites who love to reduce this name/ phrase to meaninglessness.

Zuma: the Brown Shirts/Hitler analogy was, of course, in reply to the idiot at 8:43 (who keeps belaboring that offensive comparison). I'm in a wait-and-see mode re: School Board: not jumping in to assume the worst, but with the demographics of LAUSD being what they are and growing, it would be hard for even the most organized people to effect a significant change. But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I'm not willing to approve any more bonds or taxes, though, with the waste at places like Belmont, and parents on the westside being given no options for a good, safe middle or high school. We're disenfranchised, and tired ot taking the "blame" for everything wrong in the city, while we're actually subsidizing everything and getting little for our money. It's not as glamorous to march for the middle class as for illegals, but we're what keeps the city ticking.

If the middle/upper-middle class had these schools available, they'd see a whole lot more interest. But we scramble for private schools.
