In light of Mayor's Villaraigosa's wife Corina filing for divorce, the "eclectic" Christian blog Verum Serum speculates the cause - despite non-denials from the Mayor - is marital infidelity on the Mayor's part. The blog takes a look at the Mayor's character and makes the very straightforward observation that if his wife can't trust him, how can we?Some good news however for the Mayor is that the California Majority Report still rates him at the top of the list of Democratic gubernatorial hopefuls, with Attorney General and former Governor Jerry Brown nipping at his heels.

This post was in response to a 10:20 PM ANON post challenging people to post the name of the woman in question - essentially questioning the veracity of such statements, well here it is. Print it before it gets censured again - and there was a follow-up post from some ADV lover verifying the facts.
The name of the woman is Martha Reyna. Her name is mentioned here only because she was already mentioned in the Ricardo Torres mailers and in the Times. She is Tony's comadre which means Tony is godfather to one of her four children. In 1994, Tony was contemplating running for office. Pat Bond, Gloria Molina's late consultant and herself a cancer survivor, adviced Tony not to run because cancer affects the whole family, not just the patient. She said she wouldn't do the campaign but Tony soon found Parke Skelton ready and willing to do the deed. Tony, thinking of himself as always, went forward with the campaign.
As if the pressures of the campaign weren't enough, Tony soon starts to have an affair with a long time family friend. Parke would send Tony and Martha out canvassing for votes - only thing is, they weren't canvassing. They were going to a motel in Silver Lake and Bill Mabie and Richard Polanco got wind of this. Parke, fearing that they would send pictures of Martha and Tony at this motel to Corina had Tony's home mail forwarded to the campaign office. While Tony and Martha were out doing their thing, Richard, Martha's husband and Tony's compadre and former state bar study partner was in the campaign office making calls to raise money for his good buddy Tony while Tony was out doing his wife.
Corina, Tony's wife, wasn't too involved in that campaign because she was home recovering from cancer surgery and treatment. She noticed no mail was arriving home and Corina is not a stupid woman, despite always going back to Tony after his little adventures. One day she calls Richard, Judge Richard now, and asks if Martha is home. Richard tells her she is in Palm Springs for a labor convention - she used to work for the Painters Union. Low and behold, Tony is also at the same convention.
Corina and Richard put two and two together and Corina confronts Tony. And you know how she got Tony to confess, she questioned his manhood so Tony coughs everything up - can't question his manhood, you know. This was during election day weekend. On election day, Xavier Becerra is up on stage introducing the victorious Tony and going on about what a good family man Tony is. All the campaign workers and virtually everyone else in the audience knows what has been happening and the snickering grows to a crescendo. Xavier would later confront Tony and gets in his face about what a fool he made of him - they will never be good friends again.
Corina doesn't even join Tony up on stage - some family guy. The next day she files for divorce. The case is still open. As for Richard, well Richard's hobby is gun collecting and he starts to hunt for Tony. Tony can't go home anymore and starts to ask his friends to put him up. Most refuse, including Gloria Molina and Ron Martinez. Tony ends up staying at the campaign office before he and Martha hit the road and go up north. This was in June and Tony still has a November general election and a December swearing in.
While on the lamb and hiding from Richard the gun collector, Martha gets word that her 13 year old daughter, Tony's goddaughter, couldn't take the drama anymore and runs away from home. This knocks some sense into Martha and she leaves Tony and returns home. Eventually, Martha and Richard get a divorce anyway.
But, this wasn't some drunken mistake that just happened. According to campaign staffers, Tony had been aggressively pursuing Martha - damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead! After all, Tony is God's gift to women and power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.
Soon Tony is left without a lover, wife or family - even his sisters shun him. There is a fax that starts circulating - started at Gloria Molina's office, Martha Molina - Gloria's aid (no relation) couldn't stand Tony and gets this fax going - this was before e-mails and blogs. The fax is sort of a contest to give Tony a new name. With Corina Raigosa filing for divorce, Tony wouldn't dare use her last name, would he. Soome of the names are Villapendejo, Villapitosuelto, Villaprimadonna, Villahomewrecker, and on and on. I think the list got to over 100 new names for Tony.
Eventually, Tony and Corina get back together. Tony goes around giving his best mea culpa impersonation for all his bogus friends saying that he was such a bonehead. One of the arguments he actually used was that he was "in love" with Martha, as if Tony ever understood the meaning! As for Martha and Richard and Tony's godchildren, they are left by the side of the road like so many of Tony's other encounters. Hey, he got his rocks off right?
And there you have it, that the kind of man Tony is.
Chief Parke Skelton will soon erase this so print it if you want a copy. But this, along with many other Tony adventures, will be forwarded to the RECALL committee - I hope they have the money to get this out.

And she pressures candidates to hire her incompetent husband (Leo Briones) as a campaign consultant in exchange for an endorsement. And, she then pressures those candidates to go deeper into debt to pay her husband.

Talk about timing: Gotta hand it to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's handlers for announcing the breakup of his 20-year marriage Friday afternoon, right in the middle of the Paris Hilton media meltdown.
How's that for making sure the story gets second billing?
There is one unresolved question, and it concerns naming rights.
Villaraigosa, you see, is actually a combination of the mayor's christened last name, Villar, and the last name of his wife, Corina Raigosa.
So far, Villaraigosa is keeping the hybrid name. After all, a brand is a brand, even if the corporation splits.

Deborah ends up with a million dollar home in Hacienda Heights and a sizable bank account the good doctor left, plus insurance. The doctor's family is so appalled, they don't even attend the funeral. Within two weeks Deborah goes on to buy a 7 series BMW and gets a boob job. She is so proud of her boob job that she lets fellow staffers at the clinic cop a feel. Hollywood, this is a story in the making!
Corina, you can breath now that you are no longer part of this family.

Isnt Leo Briones gay? Thats why they had a divorce. He was in love with another man and had a affair.
We probably ought to get a few things straight.
1. Ricardo Torres was right. During the AV-NP council race, he circulated mailers stating that AV was a cheater who hurt his family again, again, again and well, again...
The press lambasted Torres for attacking their Great Brown Hope. But, now, it had become apparent that when you shine the light on cockroaches...

2. People forget that the Pacheco-ites know all the dirt on Villaraigosa because they USED TO BE IN THE SAME CAMP.
I.E., Pacheco's people knew AV's secrets.
AV forced their hand by running against Pacheco, despite no differences on the issues.
Pacheco did what anyone else would do. That is, had Villaraigosa run against anyone else from his own camp: Molina, Gil Cedillo, etc., they would have thrown similar mud.

Tony Villar denied his first child, a son. The mother was so distraught she gave the boy up for adoption.
He was never late on a child support payment for his first daughter because he was never ordered to do so. This daughter's mother and Tony weren't married, thus never divorced and never under any court order. The mother's family raised this child.
His second daughter's mother married some rich Pepsico Exec, no need for child payments here especially since she was raised in Conneticut. There is, hoever, that sealed report when this mother filed charges against Tony when this daughter returned home with bruises.

You have all forgotten how quickly Antonio rose (and how quickly he can fall).
Before term limits and an exceedingly poor campaign by the anointed Bill Mabee ushered Antonio into the Assembly, he was just another eastside guy with big dreams, a big mouth, and an occasional union job.
His rise to the speakership was a function of the times (Latino power) and luck.
Whatever, don't want to get sidetracked.
The point is:
Yes, he talked a lot to his old eastside buddies. There is a reason Molina started calling them the Macho Dogs. These guys brag about their conquests.
Antonio would do drugs with his old buddies and let stuff slip. His illegitimate children, his mistreatment toward women, his possible bisexuality, etc. are well known.
Hahn had a dossier a mile thick on Antonio.
For a while, he was untouchable. That support is eroding faster than the hillsides in fire prone areas.

if Hahn had so much dirt on tony he'd have leaked at least some of it. But that rivalry does explain why Janice Hahn hates tony and anyone who's his friend so much, and she dishes dirt on tony and her city council colleagues behind their backs, along with her sidekick Zine (besides that lovely leather-underwear getup you've got featured, he's been known to cross-dress at official city roasts and functions...hmmm?). 1) Antonio got a girl pregnant while in high school. She was in love with him. Sad part is she was a virgin and Antonio vanished after he found out.
When she took him to court he had four guys all say they had sex with her knowing she was a virgin. What kind of dad is that?

2) Corina knows all about his women. She used to cry all the time and would tell people not to let people knew she knew about it. She enjoyed the perks and was willing to put up with it. She did not like it but she did it for her own good. She plays the victim but she is a willing participant in the charade called "Villaraigosa"
3) When Antonio was speaker he did not come home for moths at a time without speaking to his kids or even Corina. She was busy calling everyone else in Sacramento trying to get a hold of him. check his cell records, those who know him know this is the phone he always used to call home. There will be months at a time where no calls were made home. He did not answer when they called him either. What kind of dad is this?
4) Antonio does love his son very much. So much he got him into Princeton with the help of Jose Huizar. Without Huizar, Antonio Jr. was headed for Cal State LA. It is documented that his son has had a history of learning difficulties. The reason why Antonio went with Jose for council because it was all part of his plan to get his son into Princeton and show the world Villaraigosa are smart. We know daddy has no intelectual bone in his body and just like George H. helped George W. get into Yale, daddy AV helped his son into Princeton. George W. = Antonio Jr.
5)Corina is going to live in the Getty House on the tax payers dime. Yes, a non-profit runs it but the Mayor controls it. an investigation should start to see if any city money goes into the Getty House foundation. If it does, she needs to be gone. Even a hint of impropriety should prevent AV from letting her stay there. I though you were better than Hahn, Mr. Villaraigosa?
6) The only reason why Antonio married Corina was because she refused him the first and second time. Corinas mom hates AV and did not want them to get married. It was Antonio's ego that set out to get married to Corina because he wanted to show her mom he had more power over her than she did. He was right. Jury is out, Antonio never loved Corina, she was simply a desire fulfilled by an ego-maniac. Equally shameful, Corina has known about his infedelity for at least ten years and turned her check for the government perks. Her reward is to live at the Getty house without AV.

to last writer, 3:20 p.m.: your #4 is wrong, anyway; huizar couldn't have gotten AV's son into Princeton, not even a famous alum can do that; he no doubt wrote a reference that helped, but that's it. I'm an Ivy alum and I know that being hispanic from L. A. would have been his biggest claim to admission; there aren't a whole lot of mexicans from L. A. applying due to a culture that discourages going away from home. The Ivies scour L A for minorities of all kinds, throw scholarships at them; it's if you're white and middle- class, too rich for financial aid but too poor to afford the tuition, that you're totally screwed and end up at a state school. I don't know how smart or dumb jr is, the SAT's and grades are way skewed towards west coast Latinos (and Indians and blacks).
Re: the other stuff: was AV in h s himself when the girl got pregnant? didn't she know how to protect herself? who told her to go ahead and have the baby? no h s boy would want to become a dad with a girl he's casually dating. sounds like she might have entrapped him.
So it sounds like he and Corina deserved each other after all, just like Billary and --. So why exactly would you argue that they should have stayed together? Maybe AV finally has it right, about the kind of woman he wants...tho if I were the other woman, and he put me under the microscope then cheated on me, I'd be mad as hell. So last chance, AV: get it right this time. You've got a last chance.
But from what I read in all these blogs, incl. on Zine/leather dude, he's a perv who chases young girls at city hall, lucky he hasn't been sued for harassment yet. What is the story on that creep? That sounds like much more of a conflict w/ his job than anything we know re: AV. And isn't Rosendahl chasing boys there, too? Yikes.
so far, the new g f behind this mess is either: someone called Martha or Marita, the cute television reporter who just happens to do stories on him and Maria Elana Durazo, the union activist whose husband recently died, leaving her in charge of the kingdom.
Well, at least the last one would put to rest rumors that AV only chases hot young things, but she and the reporter might pose a conflict of interest, for some inquiring minds "who want to know."
-- Then there's the detailed dirt on the daughters, who must be glad they came out of the closet for that photo op. And all the exes.
-- Maybe we should put them all behind doors like on the Price is Right, see who wins the right guess. Or, maybe there will be more to come. Ahem nice soap opera you have laid out -- hell you even named one name.
A woman who was fired from the City for embezzeling taxpayer money.
A woman who has a history of mental illness and has been sued in the past for libel.
A woman who has no trust or even credit with anyone relevant.
So yes, let's ask her -- I am sure there are purple dragons and clouds included in the story now.
Nevermind the fact that the story isn't true.
As for points 2&3 a very nice touch for a complete fabrication.
But point 4 is perhaps your most outrageous claim -- now perhaps I know Antonio Jr, and perhaps I don't. But the Mayor must have called in a lot of favors since Antonio Jr was accepted to UC Berkeley, UCLA, Penn, USC, Stanford, UCSD, Georgetown and Brown.
Princeton is a fine school, they are lucky to have him.
Point number 5 -- well sir you really aren't as up to date as you should be -- Corina will be at Mt. Washington not the Getty House.
I think the disgusting thing is you write these lies knowing full well none of it is true.
And for the record -- Antonio Villaraigosa is a good father, a great Mayor and a decent man.
Hopefully that will boil your blood enough to release more of your novela lies.
