Because I Could or The American Way

Despite the best efforts of Lloyd Levine, I will not submit to his nanny state tactics.

The other night I bought a box of GE Reveal 60 watt bulbs for one of the bathrooms in my place. I did take a look at those squiggly bulbs he's attempting to have the government force down our throat, but they just aren't right for this use.

If I really wanted to piss off some liberals I would have bought them at Wal-Mart. But Target was more convenient. By the way, is Target politically correct? Can't remember.

Lloyd continues to fight to make us do what he thinks he should do, this time with a tax break scheme for "fitness programs" offered by employers. Now while I realize that this is a tax break scheme and a rare voluntary compliance effort by The Bachelor, there is huge potential for waste, fraud and abuse with this measure.

In the meantime, while Lloyd was pursuing government solutions, Mayor Sam himself has brokered a deal with a local personal fitness trainer and the management company of his apartment community to make available fitness training to the several hundred residents of the community.

Of course this is completely voluntary and requires absolutely no government intervention.

I replaced every light bulb in my house with the 14 watt squiggly bulbs unknowingly to the rest of the household over a few day periods and no one noticed.
I plan to sell my old incandescent bulbs on the black market as soon as the Levine law goes into effect

I can understand it. MS spends so much time in there researching his latest 'threads', he needs the best light to analyze what's smeared on the toilet paper, so it can be translated onto the blog.

get over the light bulb thing, worry more about LAPD bashing journalists just like (ahem) you.

I've credited you before, when its worthy, but I'll also condemn the ridiculous.

If it helps, they have redesigned the bulbs to took like regular, but work like the squizzly one. They are in limited production but should build up the supply by the end of the year.

What's the matter Dowd? No one giving you free food today? Is that why you're so cranky? Don't make get ICE on you!

Here in America we have the freedom to choose. Its very much to our core value to protest politician's intefering with our private lives whether its the price of tea or stupid light bulbs.

That's why unlike your lame ass country we broke away from the crown.

I once heard a KIWI joke.

How do you give a KIWI a small Business ? Give a big business and wait. (From a Aussie). Welfare never looked so good to a Kiwi.

Good point AW. Lloyd, you can get started now on a bill to ban the FLs once you ban incadescents and go to LEDs. In fact, candles are even more energy efficient and don't at all rely on foreign oil. Lets just back to oil lamps (peanut oil of course not whale).

LED I agree but they are costly for most

If you accidentally break a squiggly bulb, be careful, because you now have weaponized mercury on hand. Same thing with incandescent.

Great law, LL, until we remember that L.A. doesn't collect or separate hazardous materials like light bulbs and batteries from regular trash -- and even though we do put them in the regular trash, we're not supposed to.
