Following the unceremonious dumping of Deputy Chief Lee Carter, Chief William Bratton announced Tuesday that Police Commander Sergio G. Diaz will take over the LAPD's Central Bureau, replacing Carter who was demoted for his role in the May Day melee at MacArthur Park. Diaz, Cuban immigrant who is a 30-year veteran of the LAPD who was also immediately promoted to deputy chief. The WitnessLA Blog refers to Diaz as "...one of the good guys." No word yet on the replacements for Chief Bratton or Mayor Villaraigosa.

LA Citywatch reports that Councilmember Jose Huizar wants the City of LA to consider "instant runoff" elections. Instant runoffs are a progressive idea for elections where a primary and runoff are combined on the same ballot and have the potential to save money and increase participation.
Wednesday the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors will take public comment on the county budget for fiscal year 2008. The list of speakers signed up so far is a who's who of bureaucrats, victicrats, poverty pimps and special interests. No taxpayer advocates included. However, if you're not on the list, a County official tells us you can sign up at the door. Zuma, you interested?
Valerie McDonald announced her candidacy Tuesday for the congressional seat formerly held by her late mother, Juanita Millender-McDonald, and received the endorsement of Rep. Diane Watson, a fellow Democrat. Sen. Jenny Oropeza, D-Long Beach, and Assemblywoman Laura Richardson, D-Long Beach, are among the 17 people to have been issued nominating papers to run in the overwhelmingly Democratic 37th Congressional District, which includes much of Long Beach, Carson, Compton and parts of Los Angeles.
More than 300 people gathered Tuesday at LA/Palmdale Airport, where a commercial jet landed as part of an event showcasing a remodeled passenger terminal that will be used by United Airlines next month. United will offer two daily flights from Palmdale to San Francisco International Airport on 50-seat jets, beginning June 7. United will receive $2.3 million worth of revenue guarantees under a plan granted by Palmdale and the Los Angeles city agency the operates Palmdale, Los Angeles International, Ontario International and Van Nuys airports.
Representatives for the Southern California Grocery Workers broke off negotiations Tuesday after Ralphs, Vons and Albertsons' negotiators made demands unacceptable to the union. (Jen Forkish - Shipmock is sending his press releases to the old, dead Republican Mayor - where are yours?).

Give me a break. This was another political move to appease the uneducated illegals. If Bratton thought Diaz was so great why wasn't he promoted just a month ago with all the others? He thinks promoting a Latino will ease tensions. WRONG. People are asking why isn't Chief Pasinger being reprimanded if he was in charge of Operations and all of patrol and obviously getting reports back from MacArthur Park? Think about it Paysinger is black, Crmdr. Gray is black and John Mack and Antonio are protecting them. Where's the media on this one? Gray should have been demoted as well and Paysinger needs to be held accountable.

Another protest and more tax payer dollars wasted on the illegals.
....Meanwhile members of several immigrant-rights groups that planned the morning May Day rally are organizing a June 24 rally at Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street to show they are not intimidated by police and will refocus on immigration reform.
"Bob Baker warned that the public could see a "mass hesitation" by officers if they are asked to respond to similar incidents.
Yup, call in sick guys, go on vacation.

Here's a conspiracy theory floating around. Read this first.
...Reassigned LAPD Comander Louis Gray Gave Orders to Shoot Protesters w/ Less-lethal Weapons in 2000.
The city paid millions for that lawsuit yet Bratton allows the same person to be involved in yet another protest. Where's the accountability?
If Cmdr. Gray gave those orders also on May 1st why wasn't he demoted? Why was he simply transferred? Paysinger who is also black some say was very involved in the May 1st outcome.Again, conspiracy theory is John Mack is protecting both of these guys and how would it look if a black assistant chief gave the order to go aggressively after a mostly illegal crowd? Dont' forget some of these illegals were assaulting cops way before they went into the crowd. hmmmmm

If you think the blogs in LA are funny about this gang banger Mayor you should read the blogs in other states about our Latino clown.

The Mayor is making, has always made, and will always continue to make it his business to BE THE CENTER of EVERY ACTIVITY, STORY, and CAUSE that presents itself because he cannot stop yielding to his narcissism- in his world, things have to be about "ME"- that is the function of each event, and he will convert it where he finds that it might not be precisely about the Mayor. It is his destiny. It is why he was put on this planet. He wants people to know about "ME" as often as possible.
Antonio Villaraigosa has to find a way to make HIMSELF the focus of attention, no matter what the subject is. He cannot and will not stop that nonsense. If credit can be taken for something, watch out, he's around there somewhere to let us know that HE's involved, even if he's without the slightest clue. He IS the Mayor, the top city politician, and as such, he can and must lie and otherwise demonstrate hypocrisy six ways to Sunday.
If somebody is killed by gangs- the Mayor has to be there and say something he believes is profound, as he IS the Mayor. If some project has begun, the Mayor has to grab the first shovel and face the camera lens- after all, he IS the Mayor.
What he needs is to just take a step back and try another approach that would probably stun us all- (a.) stay in his office for a few days in a row, (b.) do some work that doesn't involve selling out local citizens and legal residents and/or city officials for his personal gain, and (c.) stop talking so much, most of the content is absolute dopiness that we don't need to hear.
And stop wearing out that other word he loves to include in his speaking: "ANGELEEENOS" He's made it so trite and it's absolutely grating to hear him say it.

Let the illegals have another one of their little protests. The more of these they have, the more of a backlash they will provoke from honest, taxpaying citizens. The rest of the country will see how violent and seditious these violent Mexican flag-waving illegal alien criminals are. The MSM will find this increasingly hard to ignore and cover up like they have been doing.

Ya know...it's really funny....I have NEVER, NEVER heard one single person say "Gee, that mayor of Los Angeles is a fabulous guy"! Au contraire....EVERYONE on the street has a completely NEGATIVE reaction to him. In fact, he causes most people to regurgitate.
And yet the Antonio Slimes refers to him as a 'rock star'! How could anyone be so wrong so many times? What is he paying the Slimes to make such contradictory statements?
He is the laughing stock of this community and he is a real joke everywhere else in the country. But look at the bright side....only 2 years left! We are at the half way mark!!!

Interesting that now people are beginning to ask where is Mayor Hahn when you need him. Now the people who voted for the Cholo Latino Mayor are finally coming to reality and seeing the embarrassement he really is. Like the saying goes, "you can take the boy out of the barrio, but you can't take the barrio out of the boy." Classic example is Antonio. Even the LA Times wrote an opinion saying he hasn't done much of anything. Traffic worst then ever, failed LAUSD takeover, no more cops for sure now that he opened his mouth, gang problem still high, living wage ordinance failure, now another lawsuit with city taxing illegally cellphone users, the list just keeps going.
