From Tofu Girl- Oh! My! That is a horrible picture of Jose. He is much younger looking and handsome in person. Well and as for Nick he was much younger looking and handsome in that picture then he is now. Mayor Frank if this baby face story is accurate, I think by these distorted pictures you are trying to sublimenly sway people to Jose's court. I just have to say I like Jose,but I am a Pacheco supporter.

Pacheco wins hands down. He does look MORE mature these days but that just goes to show his experience. Pacheco can hit the ground running. Who better to put in office then someone who knows the constituents, the ropes, the council. Let's not forget Pacheco was Chair of one of the most powerful committees Budget & Finance when he was in council.
Jose looks like a catholic school boy still. HE lacks maturity. Maybe in 10 years he'll be ready.

Shady politicians stinking together, like Tony the Liar and Sleazy Weezy. While you may think Pacheco needs new shoes, Huizar will never fill Nick's - 90 page exit memo, what has Huizar done?

Anyone who has ever spent 5 min. with Nick Pacheco knows that he has that certain something.
This is why all the other Latino electeds fear him.
Basically, he's Villaraigosa without the whine. Uh, yes, Antonio, Nick had the same upbringing you did. The difference is, he got good grades, you slacker!
Well, Nick didn't exactly have the same upbringing as Tony the Liar. Nick was never kicked out of a school, Nick never cruised with a car gang, Nick never stabbed anyone and Nick never had the alcoholic father so that Parke could capitalize on this with a nice tear jerking, glossy brochure.
What they did have in common is a child out of wedlock. But then Nick only had one - still his only child, while Tony had three out of wedlock.
Unfortunately, Nick was fired from the City Council, and Antonio is Mayor of Los Angeles. Therefore, history is history. Bottom line is whether Nick can energize his base to win CD 14. Huizar is unknown to many, but has a powerful lobby behind him, namely Mayor AV.
The last I looked, AV has not endorsed Jose even though Jose endorsed AV. That, more than anything, shows Jose doesn't have the chops to make it on the Council.

It's called timing. We don't even now WHEN the election will be held.
There is now F-ing way that AV will be supporting anyone other than Jose. First, AV can't forget how Nick called around and threatened to kill contracts of lobbyists if they hired AV after 2001. Second, this is still AV's home district and he won’t give up the opportunity to still be able to have influence in this district. And third, Jose's fundraising base is double to triple the size of Nick's. Just add his school board donors to all the regular city hall lobbyists to the larger City folks from AV and Jose will have no problem showing 100K by June 30th.

Nick is a certified loser, but Jose doesn't deserve to represent CD 14. Jose doesn't deliver. Romer and Ed Reyes revived Belmont, not Jose. The Ambassador Plan is a joke. The Maple Street contimated property is another Belmont-esque disgrace.

Eveyone who cals Pacheco a "loser" or "certified loser" is an idiot.
Many politicians lose elections, including golden boy Villaraigosa - who lost in 2001 - and that does not make them losers.
Hertzberg lost the Mayor's race and no one is calling him a loser, as a matter of fact Villaraigosa is calling him "head of the transition team".
It's you mental midgets who look at life as winners and losers, what a bunch of dum dums.
Antonio made a promise to Hertzberg that he could Chair the Transition. He kept his promise.
Hertzberg chairs a committee of 82 resume gatherers. To do it, he had to sign a pledge that he would not do business with the City of LA.
Antonio and Robin are doing the appointing.
Hertzberg is still a loser, try as he may to cover that fact. He ran THIRD, not second, to Antonio and Hahn.

Go Nick! Go Nick! Go Nick! CD14 needs you back! AV did nothing for us. He lied and used us to become Mayor. AV lied about supporting the alt. 710 freeway. Frist he supported, than he changed his mind to get El Sereno support for Mayor. The only reason why he supported the alt. 710 extension, was to get money from the citizens from South Pasadena.
