Brian Whitman Finds New Home
Brian Whitman, one of the favorite talkradio hosts of Mayor Sam, had previously announced his departure from KABC radio, his longtime radio home in Los Angeles.
Now we know why.
Brian is taking the place of longtime KLSX talker, Doug Steckler, as the new on-air partner for Tim Conway, Jr. on the FM talk station, 97.1. Conway and Brian will air weeknights from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. In addition, Whitman will contribute material to Infinity sister station KRTH's morning drive show hosted by Hollywood Hamilton, as he did for many years for Rick Dees prior to his departure from KIIS-FM.
Whitman will also continue to host a Sunday evening show for WABC Radio in New York. Prior to his leaving KABC, a portion of this show was simulcast in both cities each weekend.
Despite leaving his regular show on KABC, Whitman will still be heard on the station. Most Friday afternoons, Whitman - a gifted imperssionist - appears on the syndicated Sean Hannity Show (aired on KABC) portraying any number of "characters" from President Bush to Senator Joe Liberman to President Clinton to Michael Jackson and more.
Whitman is also one of the few talkradio hosts on the air who admits to being a liberal Democrat.

Seemed to me that Steckler was the funny one... I guess he was getting kind of bitter. I really never listened to the show, but still it seems like they had a good team, good chemistry. But Steckler was kind of a downer, but then again Conway was kind of boring.

Whitman got the job because he agreed to give Conway a Roman soldier helment and a greasy mexican tea bag at every commercial break!!! Steckler had enough of that.

Big mistake to have fired Steckler. I can't listen to this show any longer. It's just terribly boring.
