Martin Ludlow New County Fed Leader!
Your Chief has done some digging.
Tomorrow Councilmember Martin Ludlow will be confirmed as County-Fed Leader. If you recall Sister City was the first place to openly talk about Ludlow.
Congratulations Mr. Ludlow and may i also publicly endorse Herb Wesson for City Council now.
I will give props to the Korean Times and LA Observed for beating us to the punch though -- even though neither has confirmed 100% -- your Chief has.
*** Update***
The Los Angeles Times verifies what I wrote earlier today. Personally I'd like to applaud the Korea Times for scooping one of the major political stories in Los Angeles. The LA Times and other media outlets must be a little embaressed for missing this one.

EITHER MARTIN LUDLOW WAS GOING TO THE COUNTY FED OR THE COUNTY JAIL.
THERE ARE MASSIVE RUMORS AROUND CITY HALL ABOUT CONTRACTING TO LUDLOWISTAS.
IF I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE TWO, I WOULD GO TO THE COUNTY FED.
SI SE PUEDE. YES-IT CAN BE DONE.
WHAT A WASTE OF MUNICIPAL DOLLARS

Wow Mayor Sam I gave you this scoop last week. You even responded to me by saying IF this is true then.... will run for the open CD10 seat. I'm not too familiar with that side of town so I was not sure who would throw their hat in so I asked you and you responded. Again I say sham on the trade unions and SEIU for picking an idiot like Ludlow. Sham on you Mayor Sam for trying to take credit for the scoop Tofu Girl gave you!

Go gargle with soybeans.

From Tofu Girl- Sorry I forgot the E in SHAME on my previous post.

From Tofu Girl- Hey Mayor Sam No need to get nasty. You should give credit where credit is due. I GAVE YOU the scoop last week. You're Welcomed!!
Mayor Sam said:
Soybean chick........
You're trying my patience. Not a good thing to do to a dead man.
First off, your beef is with Chief Parker. He failed to give you whatever props you are probably not due.
Secondly, he brought up Ludlow's name days before you.
So leave me alone.
Mayor Sam said:
I forgot to mention to soybean chick that the real scoop goes to the Korean Times.

Is Tofu Girl the best the County Fed can come up with or is this MEAT in drag pulling a good one on Mayor Sam?

my preference was rosa jimenez as the head of the new labor union for all of the new LA

Here comes Deron Williams!!!
Anonymous said:
Let's hope that Maria-Elena runs for CD 14 so we can get a strong labor person on the council (Pacheco and Huizar are not strong on labor or brains for that matter).
Anonymous said:
I hope Deron runs. He should be the councilmember already

4:37 you crack me up baby

Who will run the County Fed after Ludlow's indicted?
Anonymous said:
Oh god, please not that drug smuggling pack-mule DERON! He and Holden were not honest with constituents. It took a steady stream of LA Times articles on the matter to s-l-o-w-l-y drag the TRUTH out of them. Textbook case of how not to do PR damage control. Deron misled us and will NEVER AGAIN get my vote!

Ok, so let's get some real substantive chat going:
Who will run for CD10 and who do we support?
I wouldn't mind seeing Herb Wesson run for this seat.
Anonymous said:
Wesson is running for CD10. Ridley Thomas is also in play for that Senate seat Wesson has been fundraising for.

10:08 knows his stuff. Martin has learend from Miguel how to accumulate power and become a force in City Hall and Sacramento. With his and Padilla's (who is anglin for a job in Sacramento) help, you can expect Antonio to move his agenda through council pretty handily. The mayor-elect is the big winner here.

I think it's despicable the way the council members jump to different jobs without serving out their entire terms.
Constituents should hold them accountable for that.
Can't we have some sort of ordinance that says they can't leave? Espcially elected positions for appointed positions.
Anonymous said:
How is the lame ass councilmembers going to get out of voting 12-3 approving the LAX plan? Does it have to go back to the floor to get voted on again?
Agreed with poster about all these elects bailing on their constituents. Antonio, Ludlow, Huizar. There should be some kind of clause in the ballots
Anonymous said:
It amazes me how these guys do nothing and then get a higher position for not accomplishing anything in council. Antonio is a perfect example of that and now Ludlow was part of the "coalition" that did nothing that was mentioned in LA Weekly.
....Some observers wondered privately whether Ludlow was eager to leave the council to deflect possible fallout from a federal investigation into his role in a development project involving the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Ludlow is on the MTA board.
The Times recently reported that the FBI and the inspector general of the MTA have launched inquiries into the role Ludlow played in getting the transit agency to spend money on community outreach for a project to build a bus yard, even though Ludlow had a conflict of interest that should have prevented his involvement.

Someone wonders why people start running for the next job as soon as they get elected to a job?
Pretty simple answer, just two words:
TERM LIMITS
The worst thing we ever did; like rent control, it doesn't work. Rent control just introduces blight, because landlords stop caring for their property. Term limits cause people to look for job security somewhere else.
We already had term limits, but we called them "elections".
All we do now is rotate the rascals.
Happy with term limits?
Then you belong in CD 14.

Such a strong Labor leader that she got the Otani owners to back down right - when was that Otani dispute settled? How do you think people will react when they find out that the whole Belmont debacle was instigated by Maria Elena as a secondary strike against the construction company building Belmont because they also owned the Otani. Check your facts, Belmont was a non-issue until Maria Elena got Tony, Cedillo and Miguel to oppose it becuase of Maria Elena's failed efforts at the Otani.
And regarding brains, Nick and Jose both have law degrees and both passed the bar - in my book degrees from U.C. Berkeley, Stanford, Loyola Law School, and Princeton go much farther than People's College of Law.
Let her throw her hat in the ring so that she can get a dose of political reality. And the sympathy vote won't matter once people find out that Miguel at the end didn't have much sympathy or respect for their marriage.

Phil Bendover,
It's not term limits that is moving these "progressives" out of the city council - it is work! Honest, brain busting, back breaking work - for wich you get very little recognition! That's what it takes to run a city council district work - and both Tony and Ludlow couldn't handle it. So Tony moved up to Mayor - no more constituent calls for him and Ludlow moved to the county head, did anyone ever really see Miguel work? That's the state of the progressive agenda in L.A., they will never finish what they started.

From Tofu Girl
To Mayor Sam and Chief Parker- Your brains must be clogged with too much red meat and processed animal products. First Chief I never e-mailed you a cut and paste article from someone else. I NEVER even e-mailed you. As for Mayor Sam
I never e-mailed you either. However, On June 2, 2005 you wrote on article on this blog titled LA Observed Skittish. I blogged on and wrote in the comment box at 5:34PM "Hey Mayor Sam I'm surprised you have not picked up the scoop on the County Fed. Martin Ludlow will be the one...(Since I do not cut and paste like Cheif Parker "thinks" I do) You can look up the rest. You my dear OLD Mayor Sam responded that same date June 2, 2005 @ 5:43Pm as follows " If this is true, then look for Leo Terrell ans Madison Shockley to make comebacks, Can Nate Holden run again? So my dear OLD Mayor Sam you did not even pick up the scoop when I gave it to you. An apology please my dear Mayor and you Chief Parker for sticking your nose in a disagreement that did not involve you.

Tofu Girl - you can't claim a scoop that we aren't even claiming. The Korean paper and LA Observed had this before we did when you posted.
Believe me, any chance we get to show up that pompous ass Roderick we love, but this wasn't one of them. Maybe you should take your complaints to Kevin, oh but wait, he doesn't accept them. Oh well. Back to the edamame, mommmy!

Oh yes! I think that Tofu Girl is meat in drag. If not then maybe Tofu girl and meat should get together.

Anti LAX poster:
Ludlow being the head of the Fed means he has a different constituency - one that lives or dies by construction projects. He is going to continue Miguel's advocacy for LAX because it is in the best interest of his member unions.
The FAA's record of decision has already been released which means that LAX Alt D meets federal guidelines and is now eligible for federal money. Why would Ludlow or AV not continue with the current projects? Why would either advocate for losing billions (with a B) in funds that would provide work for thousands and bring even more billions of dollars into our economy?
Ask around, after the election, all the Reverends and CBO Project directors were worried about the community benefits agreements they had signed, that would provide 5 million in training and job placement assistance, going away. AV is no dummy and he won't allow billions of dollars to go somewhere else. He will stay true to his promise, only support the green light projects - they're the only ones that can be built during eight years in office anyway.

Tofu takes the flavor of whatever it is served with, right? Better be careful Tofu Girl where you let your mind marinate or you'll end up smelling like the Stinky Tofu they serve in Taiwan ... or maybe you'll made end up as an appetizer at Morton's.

From Tofu Girl To Anon 11:27PM Don't blame the tofu for your BM irregularities. It is all the colon cancer animal products you eat. Not to be regular is highly irregular and could be deadly. organic raw is the way to go. It keeps your body and mind clear.

From Tofu Girl- The only animal product I do eat is raw sushi. No anon I do not eat the type of "fish" you are implying. Chief Parker if you are handsome, manly and not attached I would love to come over and feed you some sushi one night.

Can anyone tell us what Herb Wesson has done say in the last 2 years? When he was in assembly was he part of any great bills that were passed?
Word citywide is that city council will be run by a bunch of morons. You have idiot Weiss, Zine, Parks, Cardenas, Lameboy Padilla that were stuck with as a loser president for another year and so on.
THis group has wasted our tax dollars on stupid topics like silly string, getting involved in world issues, and so forth. I miss the good old days of real leadership and vision with city council. Those days are over with the exception of Garcetti who I think should be in Washington.

I would love to see Karen Bass take the CD10 seat! Despite Wesson being speaker, I didn't hear a peep from his office while he represented the area.
Anonymous said:
How about that guy Freddy who always calls Larry Elder and Leo Terrell on the radio?
Anonymous said:
Chief Parker- I don't think Tofu Girl is off her rocker, she is witty and flirty. I think you're just upset because we all know now that you are queer and are a meat man.

I'm shocked by this...another queer blogger?
Mayor Sam should then be able to get credit for that.
