Stinko De Mayor

The Daily News reports the latest happenings in the Mayor's race.  I love politicians who propose big plans in the last stages of a campaign.  Mayor Poopy wants to add a crime victim's face to the Great Wall on the sides of the Tujunga Wash (shameless pandering), Tony Villar wants to start a new prescription drug program (not necessary, we need to get the government out of health care.

Jim Hahn throws rocks from his glass house about Tony Villar taking donations from folks from Florida interested in doing business at LAX.  Hello - Daily News? We detailed the other day that Jimmy boy has done the same.  And they say you guys are biased!

All in day's work.

Jimmy Hahn upset about Antonio taking money from people who WANT to do busines at lAX?

How does Hahn think he financed his entire campaign to defeat seccession?

It was Ted Stein, wringing money out of anyone that even looked like they wanted to sell a hamburger, newspaper or any other goods or services there. The buy in was never less than $25,000.

All you gotta do is go down the donor list to his anti-seccession committee to get the names, ranks and serial numbers.

That's what Stein got fired for!

Duh!

Stop shouting...atleast we can say Villaraigosa likes to sleep.

Joe Ramallo's job to make sure ADV gets the phone on time...

"Joe Ramallo wakes up Villaraigosa from a power nap to prep him for a phone interview. Villaraigosa takes the phone, has a lively chat with the interviewer, tosses the phone to Ramallo and falls back to sleep. Ramallo says, “I swear, he could do interviews in his sleep…!”

Villaraigosa's right hand Florida man Joe Ramallo and has connections with the health management buddy who got Alex Penelas in trouble with illegal fundraising.

The latest bill that was apporved by city council sounds very similiar to what is in place in back home for Ramallo. Who gets the annual fees and who will be chosen to manage this entire program, a Ramall+Villaraigosa Florida Health Management connection.

Read what Ramallo says:

"Many states are responsible for actual delivery of health care to their employees, retirees and Medicaid recipients, [and] they have been pooling their buying power together to negotiate better prices," said Joe Ramallo, Villaraigosa’s communications director.

"No one has yet taken it to the next level, which is what Councilmember Villaraigosa is proposing to do, and use that ability to bulk purchase on behalf of residents as a whole," Ramallo said. "This has been a growing issue of concern to seniors and those who are uninsured."

LA-Rx emerged from a series of town hall meetings on health-care policy sponsored by the Foundation for Consumer and Taxpayer Rights.

The system would work by first enrolling interested Los Angeles residents and establishing the size of the medication buyers pool. Next, the city would contract with an organization called a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), which would do the negotiating with drug manufacturers.

An open enrollment period would give residents an opportunity to join LA-Rx annually. LA-Rx members would pay an annual fee for administration of the program..."

Loser Antonio wasn't even in council yesterday when the vote was taken. The difference between ADV and Hahn and campaign donations is ADV has been slamming Hahn for over a year on his. NOW Antonio was so arrogant did he not think his crap was going to come out? He can't be happy with all the negative publicity right at this time and its only going to get worst. Reporters now are scrambling on other stories they've been fed. Can hardly wait for the weekend papers. tonight at 5pm public records on campaign donations and people are saying ADV took a hell of a lot more than just $47,000 from Miami. That's got to hurt him this late in the game.

Mayor Sam

Just because you post a biased topic doesn't mean the media has to print it. You do not control the media, remember this and tell your little buddy Villaraigosa this, "You do not control the media." The control you seek is socialistic and not useful. Freedom of Speech is all the people want and need not you.

• Bob Hertzberg, in a Q-and-A with CityBeat's Dean Kuipers, blames his loss on last-minute phone calls aimed at convincing Valley voters to stay home: "There were two separate polls that had me ahead. It was literally in the last 48 hours."

THE LAST 48 HOURS, ADV... timing, timing, timing.

Michael Fernandez, Alex Penelas, Joe Ramallo, and the MAN VILLARAIGOSA...

AP reports:

U.S. Rep. Peter Deutsch filed a complaint Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission alleging that Democratic rival Alex Penelas illegally coerced donations from a South Florida health care company in their U.S. Senate race.
The complaint by Deutsch, D-Pembroke Pines, accuses the Miami-Dade County mayor of receiving at least $49,000 in illegal contributions from 41 employees and their spouses of CarePlus Medical Centers Inc. Both are competing for the seat of Sen. Bob Graham, who is running for president.

The Miami Herald has more details:

Miami-Dade Mayor Alex Penelas, whose campaign pledged to reject contributions for his U.S. Senate campaign resulting from a controversial e-mail appeal sent to employees of a South Florida healthcare firm, took tens of thousands of dollars from people associated with the company.
A Herald analysis of campaign finance records shows that employees, relatives and business associates of Michael Fernandez, owner and chief executive officer of CarePlus Medical Centers Inc., donated at least $68,000 to Penelas' campaign -- all connected to the same day in May that Fernandez hosted a fundraiser at his home.

Joe Ramallo, Villaraigosa's staff person worked with Alex Penelas during this turmoil. Sounds very similiar to what Villaraigosa did with Travel Traders.

FEDERAL INQUIRY

Deutsch's calls for a public airing of the probe into Penelas' fundraising is based on contributions to Penelas' campaign from associates and employees of CarePlus Medical Centers, whose owner told employees in March that they were each ''expected'' to give Penelas $1,000.

Such contributions are considered coerced and are illegal, and Penelas' campaign has said the mayor would not accept the contributions.

A Herald analysis of campaign finance data, though, found that Penelas took at least $68,000 from the company's employees, their relatives and business associates. The campaign has said the donations came not through the e-mail solicitation but from a fundraising reception held at the home of the firm's owner in May.

L.A.Times wrote (partial story posted)

"Council OKs Discount Prescription Drug Plan"

"...Under the plan, which is based on county programs on the East Coast, Los Angeles would contract with a so-called pharmacy benefits manager, a private firm that would negotiate a discount with drug manufacturers of as much as 30%. The only expected cost to the city would be paying one or two employees to oversee the program...

Villaraigosa said Los Angeles residents may have to pay $25 per year for a card, comparing it to a Costco membership.
Although the plan would be available to all residents, the primary beneficiaries would be the uninsured and those without adequate drug coverage... "

You should read today's topic:

Los Angeles mayoral funding flap continues By David Zahniser
Copley News Service

Nearly a week after he returned $47,000 in contributions linked to a Miami-based hotel gift shop company, mayoral candidate Antonio Villaraigosa said Wednesday that the president of that company took part in an additional fund-raiser for him in Miami.
Asked if Anderson was a co-host, Villaraigosa said: "He may have been, yes." Hours later, Villaraigosa spokesman Joe Ramallo corrected that statement, saying Anderson was only a guest.

Villaraigosa offered to review the event and provide "complete transparency."

"This is the first I'm hearing about it," Villaraigosa said. "We'll look into it and if there's an issue with that as well, then we'll give that (money) back, too."

NOW Tony V. is copying the supposed Hahn patter that the "lovers" beat the mayor up over here just days ago.

I don't know... I don't think so... I'm not aware... I'll look into it...?

I thought the idea was to replace Hahn with someone who KNEW what was going on around him at ALLLLLLL times? Who was "in control" of his staff and circumstances?

Misfire, redirect, collateral damage. OUCH!

Yes, this is why Villaraigosa probably needs the protection, he is pissing off major "friends" locally and down in the orange state. He shouldn't bluff people, this is all he knows how to do, BS. These people will not settle for broken promises, he will have to pay up from his hidden contribution money, and money he's stashed from CD14 funds.
