Not LA, Part II
We reported on the Hanh administration's failure to nab the stem cell institute for LA and losing it to San Francisco. (Also here)One of our readers pointed out that the folks up north got a real kick out of that part of the proposal which offered use of Eli Broad's private jet as part of the perks.
Maybe Jimmy and Renata should have spiced it up some more, so here is a list of other perks they should have included:
- Free use of a Ford Taurus from Bert Boeckmann.
- Occasional tickets to Magic Johnson's suite at Staples Center.
- Pancakes with Dick Riordan the first Saturday of each month at The Pantry.
- Sit for free on Marshall Grossman's or David Geffen's private beaches every holiday weekend.
- Annual yearly concert with Babs Streisand in the Santa Monica Mountains, personally escorted by Joe Edmiston.
- Electric bike ride with Ed Begley, Jr.
- Free Spanish lessons from Jerry Perenchio.
- Weekly poker game with Bill Bratton, Dennis Zine and Bernie Parks.
- A hug when you need it from Bob Hertzberg.
- Double coupons from Ron Burkle.

I heard that a Mayor Villaraigosa would have offered a 23 acre site on San Fernando Road. That's why Richard Meruelo acquired it, I understand.
Name any park in the city after your latest biological discovery, courtesy of "screw-the-neighborhood-councils" Villaraigosa.

Hey, what about:
* Their own runway at LAX
* 100 FREE PR hours from a top PR Agency (on the Mayor's tab, of course)
* Season Tickets to the Nate Holden Theater
A cruise on any any ship in the Harbor from James Acevedo;
Free services for life at Kaiser from Leland Wong;
Any contract they wanted at LAWA from Ted Stein;
Free water and power from Troy Edwards;
Five years in Club Fed from John Stodder and Doug Dowie;
A two hour free shopping trip from Chris Hammond;
A tour of CD 14 from Antonio Villararaigosa, plus an authentic drive by shooting of an opposition worker;
A free tour of San Pedro (The only precincts won in the May 17, 2005 election) by former Mayor James Kenneth Hahn.
How about:
1) A building with two floors that are connected with an internal staircase; and
2) A guaranteed lease for a term of years on the building.
In case you CD 14er Morons didn't know, that is all the geniuses in the Hahn Administration had to include in order to stay in the running.
Responding to RFP's with specific requirements is not brain surgery folks, but what the Hell, it was ONLY FOUR (4) BILLION DOLLARS ($4,000,000,000,000) worth of jobs for LA.
Why should anyone really care about losing this one? Especially in the less afluent parts of the city where jobs are really important.
But don't believe this stuff, because ADV is a pathological liar!
