Recalling a ......... "Gar-SOBB-ing Mayoral Failure 2.0"

The growing pile of recent policy, election and personal setbacks associated with a Rhodes Scholar, turned Politico in Crisis, has reached a tipping point where it time to Recall a "Gar-SOBB-ing Mayoral Failure 2.0".
A Gar-SOBB-ing Mayoral Failure 2.0
** Blogger's Notes: Please pardon the bloggin pause the last few weeks as we transition to life without a loving mother ............. That said, Mom would be proud of her son for making this follow confession ......., I voted for a "Gar-SOBB-ing Mayoral Failure 2.0".
Six years later, the supposed "City of Angels (or those remaining who have not left due to rising cost of heavenly lofts)", is thriving to become a Third World-like, "Caracas, Calizuela on the Pacific", thanks to the Digressive Leadership of a Mayor (with delusional Presidential aspirations).
Since his victory over Greuel, followed by an overwhelming, successful Re-election Campaign, voter frustration against the current Mayoral Officeholder, was slowed to rise, but then the rising Homeless masses migrated away from Skid Row ........., and a smoldering crisis exploded.
Fueled in part by legislation such as AB-109, Prop 47, Prop 57, mixed with a corrupt City Hall embrace of Crony Capitalism Dealings with Developers, Mayor Gar-SOBB-ing (and his Calizuela One Party-ruling Democratic Party enablers), were/are responsible for spreading a toxic health crisis, city-wide.
In response, Mayor Gar-SOBB-ing garnered the needed voter support to pass Measure HHH, that was suppose to combat the crisis by building Permanent Housing/Supported Services ........., but as the mystical J.J. Gittis (and a growing number of actual Angelinos) knows too well, the current Administration in control at 200 Spring Street ........., is a continuation of an unethical "Chinatown".
Now forwarding to a post Measure EE Election Debacle Press Conference, a once Rhodes Scholar, now a Politico in Crisis, is reduced to SOBBING (and threatening his opponents), in pondering why a majority of voters would fail to support his tired mantra of seeking increased revenues (taxes) to finance a scheme to save LAUSD ............, merited/supporting an audacious response (led by David Hernandez and others), that would grant the "Gar-SOBB-ing Mayoral Failure 2.0", quality time to RECALL his political failings----Scott Johnson.

Mayor Gar-SOBB-ing knows the benefits of profiting off a communal crisis.
The Rats continue to run wild under Mayor Eric Gar-SOBB-ing.

Tri-partisan Group of Activists call for Resignation of Congressman Tony Cardenas

San Fernando Valley Activists (Reds, Blues and Green) come together in calling for the Resignation of embattled Congressman Tony Cardenas who is facing an allegation of drugging and then sexually assaulting a female teenager during a 2007 Golfing Event.
California Lt. Governor Candidate (and longtime San Fernando Valley Activist) David Hernandez speaks, with former Assemblywoman Patty Lopez, during Monday Morning Press Conference.
** Blogger's Notes: Its time to hold Congressman Cardenas accountable, if guilty, of the allegation against him-----Scott Johnson.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

As CD 1 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" continues to ignore constituents, a just release Fiscal Report from the Office of the City Clerk documents "Broken Deal Cedillo" granting infamous Immigration Rights Activist, now Convicted Felon Larry "Nativo" Lopez's Organization another $5,000 in Public Funds.
CD 1 City Clowncilman "Broken Deal Cedillo" ignores Cypress Park Stakeholders .......,
........., while granting Convicted Felon Larry "Nativo" Lopez's "Citizen in Action Community Development Organization" another $5,000 and denying funding for the likes of the cancelled Lincoln Park Fireworks Show.
$15,000 dollars and counting.
As activists from MacArthur Park to Cypress Pass continue to vent their respective displeasure at the lack of follow through from second year CD 1 City Clowncil Central Committee Member Gil "Broken Deal Cedillo" ......., a Convicted Felon continues to benefit from the Fiscal Largess of his "Immigrant Rights Brother".
The just completed 2014 General City Purposes Fund Allocation Report for CD 1, discloses that infamous Illegal Alien Supporter and Convict Felon for Voter Fraud, Larry "Nativo" Lopez's Orange County-based "Citizen in Action Community Development Organization", was granted the top amount of $5,000, that was also given to the Hollenbeck Youth Center in CD-14.
Mayor Sam had previously reported that the former "One Bill Gil", now disparaged as "Broken Deal Cedillo" by many, gave the mentally-challenged, Convict Felon Nativo, $10,000 from his Officeholder Account in the Second Quarter of 2014.
Surely, the latest disclosure of "Broken Deal Cedillo" granting Public Funds to a Convicted Felon such as Nativo, is bound to raise the ire of those who's request for funding (for example, the cancelled Lincoln Park Fireworks Show), was denied in favor of a Orange County Organization with tax and ethical issues.
** Who did the NFL reach out to when searching for help in revamping its Disciplinary Policies? Hint, a former Chief of Police and soon to be termed-out CD 8 City Councilman, with vast experience on the issue.
CD 8 City Councilman Bernard Parks.
“They were interested in my experience at the LAPD and how we handled discipline,” Parks said. “In many ways, there are a lot of similarities between an NFL player and a police officer.
“Both have to deal with a lot of emotion on the job, but the question is, How do they cope with that when they are off the field or when they go home?
“How do you cope with those emotions once the game is over or you are done with your shift? There are a lot of parallels.”

** As yesterday's absolute deadline for potential City Council and School Board Candidate's  qualifying signatures, is now history, two notable activists are in limbo regarding their respective efforts to qualify for the March 2015 Ballot. In CD 2, David Hernandez still has not been certified. Meanwhile in CD 14, the big surprise is longtime Progressive Activist Carlos Montes, who's total of submitted signatures, was deemed insufficient for inclusion.
  A Fundraiser for naught?

Your thoughts ...............

Happy Bloggin 50th Birthday to Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby!!

Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby is fifty years young today as we send bloggin B-day wishes to the man behind Los Angeles premiere political blog.
Mayor Sam with B-day Cake and wearing the Official B-day of Sunland-Tujunga's Joselito's Restaurant Saturday.
** Blogger's Note: We are sure that the likes of Jim Alger, "MEAT", Zuma Dogg, Betty Pleasant, "Mayor Frank", Ex "Mayor Poopy", Mary Cummins and Gatto Truthers will join in wishing Michael "Mayor Sam" Higby a most bloggin sincere 50th Year of Being. A great crowd (including Joseph Mailander and wife Lynn, Ed Padgett and lovely daughter Kristin, David Hernandez and lovel spouse) was on hand Saturday evening at Sunland-Tujunga's Joselito's Restaurant to celebrate, with chocolate party treats via Frank Sheftel's Chocolate Factory, great food and of course, Mayor Sam. As can be seen below, Political Consultant John Thomas was on hand, taking a brief break from the Elon Carr for Congress Campaign, as he takes a moment to display a CD 14-centric B-day Gift from a certain "Spoll-checking Blogger"---Scott Johnson.
Who needs a City of LA Certificate of Appreciation when you can have a framed, autographed (by a certain CD 14 Blogger) copy of the 2011 Rudy Martinez for City Council Campaign's "Councilman Huizar (still?) under FBI Investigation Mailer" as modeled by Political Campaign Consultant John Thomas?

TGIF Afternoon Political News Dump 9-23-11

What is it about porn stars and fire(fighter) hoses?
Welcome to another edition of TGIF Political News Dumps for 9-23-11 and can we agree that LAFD would love to dump this embarrassment forever. But as the firefighting blogger at patmcoskerforcitycouncil.com reminds us, this is not the first time that LAFD's "apparatus" has been used in the production of porn.
** LA Weekly's resident expert on Los Angeles County Redistricting Gene Maddaus joins Editor Jill Stewart in bloggin dispensing of news items today, supporting regulars the "Bloggin Commandante" and the "Snarky One", Thus, we will give Maddaus a pass on him neglecting to remind readers that longtime Valley Activist David Hernandez is the Republican Candidate in the quest to keep City Councilman Tony Cardenas "away from D.C." in 2012.
** Jill Stewart joins the chorus of Mayor Sam and City Watch in commending CD 15 City Council Candidate Joe Buscaino for his inclusive stance on upcoming debates in the Special Election's proceedings. Thus, it should come then as no surprise that negative innuendos about Buscaino are starting to make the rounds in the cybersphere. This will surely make Assemblyman Mike Gatto cringe in indignation.
** The race (Asian-Pacific) and special interest (Maria Elena Durazo) pandering continues as Gene Maddaus posts his last in the series of tutorials, that chronicles past racial voting behaviors, on the saga of Los Angeles County Redistricting. Great Work Gene!
** Lastly, to Governor Jerry "Moonbeam II" Brown, two-thirds of Californians say "KEEP YOU HANDS OFF PROP. 13!".
Your thoughts and great weekend.

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Monday

Calling into the LiveLA Saturday Night talkradio program, MayorSam blogger Joe B. told David Hernandez, Frank Sheftel and myself that a Christmas tree lot that has opened up on the site of a former K-Mart in Sunland-Tujunga is secretly operated by Home Depot, who most of you remember, were booted out of the community following a successful campaign by residents.  While no one begrudges a legal business (certainly a Christmas tree lot) on land leased or owned by a particular organization the reward for Home Depot in this instance certainly can not be commensurate with the risk.  This blog documented for years the continual stupidity let alone near evil this hardware chain did in that community.  Like a crack addict wanting one more fix; they're back. This really doesn't help them any.  We suggest if you are to buy a Christmas tree you purchase it from lots run by non-profit organization, churches, youth groups, etc.

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Monday

Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to line the streets in Downtown LA Monday morning for the parade celebrating the Lakers win last week of the NBA Championships.  Considering controversy in the past over public funding of such events the Lakers organization has stated they will cover all costs of the parade. In a related story Staples Center operators AEG have finally agreed, in partnership with the Jackson Family, to pay for the City's expenses for last year's Michael Jackson public memorial.  Which is good because even though the King of Pop's post death income has provide sufficient funds to pay off most of his debt, that which remains includes past due DWP bills at the family compound in Encino.

Fox11 reports that the City Ethics Commission is formally investigating Mayor Villaraigosa's acceptance of tens of thousands of dollars of tickets to sporting and entertainment events in Los Angeles, of which he did not disclose.  The Ethics Commission is mum on the investigation but the LA Weekly notes that former candidate Walter Moore filed a formal complaint with the Commission while at the same time the Mayor asked the Commission for an opinion on the validity of his claims that we did not need disclose the tickets because he was acting in an "official" capacity at the events.

The word in Arizona is that the City of Los Angeles looks pretty silly with it's boycott of the Grand Canyon State over it's popular immigration reform law, particularly when the LAPD won't send officers to homeland security training in Tuscon to "respect" the boycott.  When the grandstanding agenda driven William Bratton finally left the seat many thought the LAPD would now be back to business under the control of an LAPD career man like Chief Charlie Beck.  Sadly following this turn of events Beck is quickly being seen as a lap dog for politically correct politicians by the public, press and LAPD troops.

Speaking of Arizona local activist David Hernandez has decided to start an LA based blog supporting Arizona housed on the Arizona Republic's website. In his first blog post Hernandez tells his Arizona readers "We stand with Arizona and against our elected officials."

And finally in case you missed it over the weekend we had a post featuring politicians dressing up to pander to special interest groups and then showed you even more examples just for fun.

Sunday Open Thread and Mayoral Recall Update

Nothing says "serious" better than sunglasses on a cloudy day.

Dateline Sunday, May 23rd, 2010... Latest info from the less than transparent "Recall City Hall" campaign disaster led by Phil Jennerjahn, Walter Moore, David Hernandez, and Dege Coutee:

-The "Recall City Hall" Twitter page has seen exponential growth in it's outreach efforts and, as of today, can now proudly announce that they have 58 followers! They built this following in slightly over 30 days, people!
Give It Up for Team Recall! Whoo-Hoo!!

-The "Recall City Hall" Facebook page has gone worldwide viral and now boasts (I hope you're sitting down) 172 (that's one hundred & seventy two) friends! Holy cow!
If that isn't viral, I don't know what is!

-Recall City Hall campaign organizers have decided that revealing a count of total signatures collected to date would interfere with their overall opportunistic efforts to get their pictures taken and a possible mention in the news.

Heads-up fishwraps and people with video cameras;

There will be no signature tally announced unless there is a photo-op!

As always, the Mayor Sam News Team will continue to bring you the latest developments in this dramatically non developing story!

Los Angeles Politics Hotsheet for Tuesday

The City Council Monday night approved a nearly $7 billion budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 after months of trying to close hundreds of millions of dollars in deficits.  Key to the budget is the layoff of over 700 City staff unless unions agree to concessions.  What say you that the unions will agree or the Clowncil will back down?

Big doins' and the blowback coming on the controversial Arizona Immigration Law, SB 1070, and the boycotts against it.  First off pro-illegal immigration activists were incensed by remarks made by LA Lakers Coach Phil Jackson that indicated the winningest coach in NBA history either supported SB 1070 or at least didn't oppose it.  That created a firestorm of controversy calling for boycotts and protests of the Lakers yet activists could gather only about a score of folks to picket the Staples Center Monday evening.

Next up hotels in San Diego were reporting handfuls of Arizona residents were cancelling trips and room reservations in America's Finest City as a counter-boycott against the border city was brewing in the cactus state.  While it doesn't yet represent a groundswell more rooms have been cancelled than there were protesters at Staples and it has the local tourism folks worried.

A Tulare County (CA) trucker is encouraging other truckers to boycott Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego Counties over the boycotts.  A group of Arizonans has created the BUYcott Arizona website to encourage supporters to boycott cities that are boycotting Arizona and to spend money in the Grand Canyon state.  Conservative radio talk show host Tony Katz is leading a group of SB1070 supporters to travel to Arizona and spend money in support.

From the how come no one thought of this before department, existing California law was compared to the new Arizona law that has everyone up in arms.  Section 834b of the California Penal Code contains remarkably similar language to SB1070.

Back in LA-LA land the City Council - fast to act on the  boycott of Arizona - is languishing on legislation to cut City ties and business with firms that do business with the Islamic Republic of Iran.  A really terrible place where folks actually are asked for their papers all the time, racial profiling and segregation is the law, women are legally treated like property and well we don't even want to say how they treat da gheys. I wonder where Paul Koretz stands on all this because remember it's Iran, not Arizona, that has missiles pointed at Israel.

And finally moving on to our favorite goofy recall and the gift who keeps on giving, Phil Jennerjahn.  Recall leaders, including David Hernandez a really good guy we can't figure out why he has teamed up with Phil, is seeking the financial support of Arizonans pissed at LA who might want to exact a pound of flesh from Mayor Villaraigosa.  Fair enough I am sure a lot of help can be ginned up but this is a strategic error even if it generates a short term gain. LA's non-partisan politics has created the environment for left-wing yuppie liberals in Silverlake to be simpatico with Republicans from Sunland-Tujunga or Latinos from CD14 over issues like over-development, billboards, phony ballot measures, etc. and be united in their disdain for the Mayor and Clowncil.  The moment you attach the recall to anything that sounds like Minutemen or even Tea Partiers two of those three legs of that table fall out, it becomes  Republican movement and the numbers aren't there in LA for that.  That doesn't stop Phil Jennerjahn though who doesn't care what anyone else says, he's going to win!

The Recall City Hall Campaign Update

Phil Jennerjahn wears his shades on a gloomy day.

The RecallCityHall campaign is now 9 days old. Led by 3 failed Republican mayoral candidates and a pothead, the recall campaign is refusing to reveal their signature count, their number of volunteers, or even who is in charge. The recall effort was started by Wisconsin transplant, former mayoral candidate, and "entertainer" (read: birthday party clown) Phil Jennerjahn and his girlfriend, marijuana activist Dege Coutee.

After a disastrous press conference held on the south lawn of City Hall on April 20th (no one showed up) and a weird attempt at a chest thumping announcement of the recall campaign during the LA City Council public comments segment by Walter Moore and Phil Jennerjahn, the campaign has gone into stealth mode. Very few updates at the RecallCityHall.org site, Walter Moore has all but vanished, Phil Jennerjahn has returned to posting self-promoting videos of himself at his site, and Dege Coutee is doing whatever Dege does. David Hernandez remains the sole voice actually trying to take the recall effort seriously.

So the question is;

How many signatures has the campaign gathered?

This is important because the campaign has to gather over 2000 valid signatures per day, every day, 7 days per week for 120 days to meet the 240,000+ needed to meet recall requirements. This means that as of today, Phil needs to have 18,000 + valid signatures.

If the campaign is not meeting these daily goals then they need to re-evaluate their strategy, their distribution of volunteers, their fund-raising needs, and they should share this information with the people who are donating their time, efforts, and money to the recall campaign. Instead... the campaign has only offered up silence.

Several disgruntled recall campaign volunteers have made it known that they have no idea how much money is being raised, how many signatures have been gathered, or had any strategy whatsoever shared with them except the standard "we can do it, you go get the signatures" pump.

Are the volunteers working to gather signatures being jerked around by an opportunist and candidate for congress who conceived this recall campaign in the hopes it would propel him all the way to Washington, D.C.?

For your consideration....

From Phil Jennerjahn's blog on January 28, 2010 announcing his idea for the recall campaign:

"Something happened to me today that I am eager to share with readers of The Jennerjahn Report, but I can't release the details just yet. I will soon, though.

It is an idea that is so big....so revolutionary, that I believe it is going to change American history and that it will put me into national prominence.

Tonight was a huge night in human history.
A huge step forward for personal freedom.
And you are going to be some of the first people to ever hear about it."

We'll keep you posted.

Phil Jennerjahn's Latest Dumb Idea

Okay I had to turn the lights on for a moment.

Phil Jennerjahn has been a good friend and I like him personally but he does some oddball things.

But Phil is now on his latest and greatest goofball doomed to fail scheme.

He wants to recall lame duck Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.

He's also wrapped up good guy and good friend David Hernandez as well as failed Mayoral ego-candidate Walter "El Pollo Loco is a Sanctuary City KFC" Moore into this skit right out of "I Love Lucy."

Now y'all know A Villar is not my favorite mayor and yea he's made a mess out of things. But is it worth a recall effort?

I'd like to see an effort from all the SLAP happy goofball activists focus on the key issue that will save LA and that is jobs, jobs, jobs. Not billboards. Not bicycles. Not hamburgers.

I'd like to see some more good real grassroots candidates like Louis Pugliese and Mary Benson get out there and have effective campaigns that don't waste hundreds of thousands of dollar on vanity radio ads and baseball caps but walk precincts and make phone calls (like Louis and Mary did).

So Phil rather than trying to recall Villaraigosa, which you won't likely get the signatures and even if you achieve that you won't have the money and resources to go against his machine, why not spend the time recruiting and educating City Council candiates and build a real organization to elect them.

Or is this another publicity stunt Phil?

Now excuse me while I go back to the Batcave.

UPDATE: Walter Moore has jumped off this train wreck.

David Hernandez, Class Act!

David Hernandez showed up at last night's Sunland-Tujunga NC meeting to thank the community for sponsoring a mayoral forum and for being an involved community.

"I believe a candidate should return to thank those who participated in this election, no matter what the outcome was. I also wish to thank the STNC for presenting a forum that allowed me to get out my message."

That's class! We'll be waiting to see if any of the other candidates decide to drop by.
