Hot, Documented Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine to Start the Blogging Work Week

A bloggin weekend of reviewing Campaign, Officeholder and Transparency Forms, submitted by the likes of Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson, CD-7 Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and CD-1 City Councilman Gil Cedillo, are an extensive source of News-making Disclosures.
Los Angeles City Council President Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson's "Appetite for Fiscal Plunder" ...... with assistance from a Noted (and connected) Ex-staffer.
** Blogger's Notes: As a weekend national news-cycle, that was dominated by a Snowflake Media Tantrum directed at the Washington D.C.-located Newseum, over a political parody T-shirt, melts into a Climate-changed (according to the El Segundo Times) West Coast Sunset, the Mayor Sam Blog discloses some fiscal inconvenient facts involving members of the Los Angeles City Council. In a weekend review of state and municipal fiscal reports (motivated in part by the excellent Daniel Guss "Herb Wesson Missive" at City Watch LA and follow up by the El Segundo Times), we disclose below what the Councilpersons in question, would deemed, well .........., no comment (for now)----Scott Johnson.

Happy Bloggin New Year ........., if we could only UNLOCK the (STNC Office) Door to 2018!!

As we wish to bloggin welcome the start of 2018, we awaken to find that a supposedly-resolved, 2017 Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council Office Controversy (via the alleged, humanitarian intervention of Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson), has been rekindled by the "VINDICTIVE Lock and Key Actions" of CD-7 City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez (aka. #LadyMFraud).
A change to the Yearly Calendar does NOT curb the Appetite for Trouble, via City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson's vindictive "Lady M Fraud".
** Blogger's Notes: As the fingers revisit the bloggin keyboard for the first time in 2018 after a protracted break, we would be remissed in not FIRST, wishing our cyber-audience a HAPPY START to the 2018 Year of Resistance ............, against the CADEM/Special Interests United (and RINO) Establishment Machine.
Formalities stated, we would normally keyboard onwards in broaching on the local Conventional Wisdom, regarding the future State of Political Affairs at 200 North Spring Street, but there is a certain NEWLY-INSTALLED (with the help of Chevron), CD-7 City Councilperson, who can't let go of the 2017 Actions (at the Ballot Box) ........, by a "Grass Roots Few (or about 46% of voters).
According to sources, the FRESH-FACE of the embattled (and female-abusing) Northeast San Fernando Valley Democratic Machine, has channeled the punitive proclivities of the previous Officeholder Felipe "FU" Fuentes, by changing the Locks and Keys on the Doors of the North Valley City Hall ........., which houses the Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council.
Its apparent that the NEWLY-BESTOWED, #LadyMFraud, has a vindictive, inner-persona, that matches her ambitious, upwards political desires ........., with very possible ramifications for the community political standing of Los Angeles City Clowncil Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson.
Wesson was instrumental in brokering PEACE between Sunland-Tujunga Activists and City Hall, via his decree which restored the STNC Office access at the North Valley City Hall, but the ACTIONS of his desired replacement for "FU Fuentes", could have an adverse impact on a future "Mini Amin Wesson for Mayor Campaign" ........., if he does not fixate #LadyMFraud on a positice communal future (and bury a vengeful past from 2017)-----Scott Johnson.
More like .........., We Did It (Again) to the non-conforming Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council.
Ask NAUGHT, what your newly-installed CD-7 Councilperson can do to build a mutualistic relationship with the STNC.
Every vindictive #LadyMFruad needs like-minded Political Sock-Puppets (on payroll) to implement their punitive Political Agenda. To be continued.

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Unmasking the Quid Pro Quo (or Quos) behind USC's Broken Promises at Hazard Park and its Specific Plan

In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we unmask an alleged "University of Scandalous Couduct (USC)-financed Quid Pro Quo" that provides political cover for its Broken Promises around the communities of its Figueroa and CD 14 Health Sciences Campus.
The likes of "University of Scandalous Conduct" President Max Nikias is all smiles when underlings such as Vice-Presidents Todd Dickey and Tom Sayles can orchestrate various Acts of Broken Promises, with the help of enabling local politicos.
Native and Historic Hazard Park Sycamore Tree # 8 awaits a pending death and a community will lose precious Green Space thanks to USC President Nikias, phone number (213) 740-2111, Broken Promise not to encroach on Park Land.
** Blogger's Note: In a Mayor Sam Exclusive, we have learned that the "University of Scandalous Conduct" (aka USC) has broken another community pledge by not meeting its Local Hiring Goals, as specified in its City of Los Angeles-approved "USC Specific Plan". This latest Breach of Promise, comes after the discovery of its broken agreement not to encroach on Historic Park Land at Boyle Heights Hazard Park. These latest ethical lapses are becoming "Par for an Elitist USC Golf Course", under the leadership of its 11th President Max Nikias. Since his hiring to replace Steve Sample in 2010, the cities largest employer (not if you live next to its campuses) has involved its supposed Higher Institution of Learning, in ethically-questionable episodes (2012 Redistricting, Coliseum Giveaway, USC Specific Plan, Health Science Campus Master Plan). With help from underlings such as Vice-President (and former DWP Commission Member) Thomas Sayles and Senior Vice-President Todd Dickey, President Nikias has given a new meaning to "CONQUEST", especially when embolden with the alleged Quid Pro Quos given to local politicos such as ex Failure Mayor Antonio Villar and current City Council Central Committee General Secretary/Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson. We have learned that "Mini Amin" Wesson's younger brother Steve, was hire by USC six months after the City Clowncil Central Committee voted to approve the USC Specific Plan. Further, it has been speculated by some that the hiring of the younger Wesson Brother (to a position which he was under-qualified for), was also an eighteen months after that fact payoff to the City Clowncil Strongman, for his successful (if not legal) efforts to move the USC Main Campus out of CD 8 City Councilman Bernard Parks oversight. Thus, with the likes of Villar and Wesson benefitting from the University of Scandalous Conduct's largess (allegedly), then its easy to see why CD 14 City Clowncilman (and Wesson's Political Soul Brother) Jose Huizar, turned his back on the heritage of Hazard Park ........., for some day in the future (if not now), the "University of Scandalous Conduct" can help pay off a "certain settlement"---Scott Johnson in CD 14
The "University of Scandalous Conduct" has a job waiting for a City Clowncil Strongman family member, like Steve Wesson (with President Barack Obama), if past backroom dealings meet with the approval of its President Max Nikias (allegedly).

Images and Notes on the Upcoming Municipal Elections for Saturday

As the Candidates for City Council, LAUSD, LACCD and the dueling on either side of Charter Amendment 1 & 2, initiate their respective "Get Out The Vote (GOTV)" activities this weekend, we post for our review, news, images and notes from the various races across the city.
With appreciation to Hans Johnson from the "Save Our City Elections/No on Charter Amendment 1 & 2" Campaign, we now have our Official "Private Citizen/Deceitful Campaign Consultant" John Shallman Portrait.
** With no apologies to "Private Citizen/Deceitful Campaign Consultant" John Shallman, we make this early Tuesday Election Perdition, that the superbly orchestrated "Save Our City Elections" Campaign, will have an impact upon several City Council Elections, as those who were smart enough to join the growing "No on Charter Amendment 1 & 2 Coalition", will likely benefit from a Coattail Effect as evidenced below.
Voter sentiment on Charter Amendments 1 and 2 appears to be souring. At a community forum Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Eagle Rock attended by more than 100 people and featuring candidates for the seat representing Council District 14, including candidates who are opponents and supporters of the measures, event moderator and NBC reporter Mekahlo Medina asked the crowd for a show of hands on whether they support or oppose the charter amendments. According to estimates by several observers, more than 80 percent of attendees indicated they opposed the measures.
** The following photo was seen on the "Facebook Wall" on the politically-connected El Sereno Restaurant "Hecho En Mexico".
Would Francine's former Boss support the veracity of this message?
** As the Los Angeles Times Editorial Board takes the "Tepid White Mayor" Eric Garcetti to task for his silence in regards to taking positions on Ballot Measures and endorsing Candidates in Tuesday's Municipal Election, his appointed, paid President of the Board of Public Works Kevin James, has this message for CD 6 Voters.
Mayor Garcetti to now City Hall Insider Board of Public Works President Kevin James: "Your endorsement of CD 6 City Councilwoman Nury Martinez, looks so Establishment!!
** With a US Court Judge choosing to overlook the blatant, racial motivations behind the now litigious 2012 City of Los Angeles Redistricting Commission Backroom Dealings, City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herman "Mini Amin" Wesson got a mailbox reminder of some of those supposed, racially-theme comments made behind close doors .........., and surprise, surprise, he was not too happy with the content.
An African-American Strongman needed to cleanse a certain ethnic group?

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Monday

We bring you this latest "Hypocritical, Do As I Say, Don't Do As I Done (or are still doing) Political Moment" from the lone Princeton Graduate of the Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee Jose Huizar.
The Public Image of a politician who passes on indulging in the Ice Bucket Challenge (while still donating $100.00) citing drought concerns, is contradicted by a report which documents increase home water usage during these same parched times.
Kudos indeed for the "Tonto Huevon's" latest dubious distinction.

Christmas Getaway Briefs Dump on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Friday

No LA County Felony Child Endangerment Charges for Andrea AlarCON.
City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works President Andrea AlarCON.
The race has tighten in within the AlarCON Political Familia, regarding who will be the first convicted for nefarious behavior.
With the Los Angeles County District Attorney deciding not to press for felony child endangerment charges against Mayor Antonio Villar's top person at the Board of Public Works, its up now to City Attorney Carmen Trutanich to move forward with misdemeanor charges.
The offspring of the CD2/7 City Councilman can thank the lucky timing (for her) of General Service Police, in finding her daughter at City Hall, soon after telling her that she would return in ten minutes, for being the basis of the District Attorney's decision not to press for felony charges. After all, how many of us are so fortunate to have on stand by, law enforcement officers to watch our kids, when we make an instantaneous choice to get inebriated with the mayor ........... errrrrr, staffer?
As the Andrea AlarCON Controversy bounces from city to county, back to city jurisdiction again, with a possible next top in the "Greece on the Pacific's" Attorney General Office, Ms. AlarCON can do the right things, take accountability and RESIGN!
** To the increasing number of gun buyers and NRA members within Ciudad de Los Angeles, City Attorney Carmen "Big Nuch" Trutanich, has a letter for you ...... and all your background data. We wonder if "Big Nuch" has also crafted letters to the high number of "hit and run drivers" and all the supposed "low level, non violent parolees" via AB 109, warning them to be on their best behavior?
** The "Old Gray Collectivist Hag on Spring Street" has some "ethical issues" regarding City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson's appointee to the Ethics Commisssion. May we dare offer some advise to the former fishwrap of record? Increasing you story budget allocated to the ethical follies at 200 Spring Street, just may net you some "Bell-like" exclusives.
** On the subject of humans using guns in a irresponsible manner, none other than LA Wave Newspaper Columnist Betty Pleasant opines that it is time to abolish the Second Amendment right to bear arms. Thus, for the citizens of South LA and beyond, we hope that Betty will provide baseball bats so that her neighbors can protect themselves from the failure of prison realignment, who are roaming the streets of their former hoods.
TRUTANICH WITH 23 POINT LEAD December 20th, 2012 HAPPY HOLIDAYS!The clock is ticking - Christmas is just around the corner and so is New Year’s. Time to celebrate! And the reelection campaign for City Attorney Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich is doing just that – celebrating! A survey commissioned by the campaign, testing 500 likely voters citywide, shows Trutanich with a 42-19 percent lead over his rival, Assemblyman Michael Feuer. Two other candidates in the race get 8 percent each.Talk about a reason to celebrate! Rick Taylor, Trutanich’s chief reelection strategist, was beside himself. “This poll is great news,” said Taylor. “It shows Nuch has a clear path to victory. With the right amount of financial resources the city attorney is headed for the winner’s circle, and the residents of Los Angeles will be the real victors.”

Your thoughts and Merry Christmas!

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

Will City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson face leadership challenge from  an Assemblyman, turned CD 7 City Council Candidate Felipe Fuentes?
The reigning despot of the City Clowncil Central Committee Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson.
State Senator Alex Padilla (left) and Assemblyman Felipe "Mini Padilla" Fuentes (right).

What should come first? The candidacy for city council or the campaign for the presidency of the City Clowncil Central Committee?
As the Los Angeles County Labor Federation announces its endorsements for termed-out Sacramento Labor  Lefties in search of a higher political living wage, one of those, Assemblyman and current CD 7 city council candidate Felipe Fuentes, apparently wants the same title (and power), that his political mentor State Senator Alex Padilla, had before moving on to Sacramento.
One political observer opine that City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herb “Mini Amin” Wesson, has been weaken in recent months, via his handling of the now litigious 2012 Redistricting fiasco and his treatment of colleagues, along with former city officials.
If Fuentes wins the election to replace indicted CD 2/7 City Councilman Richard AlarCON, may we dare say a looming battle for the top position, may pit one “Mini” against another?
** Assemblyman Gil “One Bill” Cedillo saw his chances of replacing CD 1 City Councilman Ed Reyes, greatly improve when he picked up the County Labor Federation endorsement. The fact that Councilman Reyes endorsed now Assemblyman Jimmy “PAC laundryman” Gomez, may not pay off in his quest to see his Chief of Staff Jose Gardea , replace him on the horseshoe.
** We are searching for the video, but according to a good source, LAPD Chief Charlie Beck stated that if LAPD officers were at the Sandy Hook School, the mass killings would of never taken place
** KABC AM Talk Show Host and Daily News Columnist Doug McIntyre, keyboards on the lousy example of government that is the Children’s Museum fiscal fiasco.

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political machine for Monday

We proudly bestow the moniker of "Villar Greuel" on the City Controller formerly known as the "Valley Greuel"
For the reigning opportunist of the 2013 Mayoral Campaign Wendy "Villar Greuel", being a former republican turned democratic opportunist, may not result in a July "mayoral designation".

Great Monday to all as so called objective political pundits opine on Saturday’s televised Mayoral Debate from Little Tokyo. Thus, let this subjective bloggin political observer start today cyber dialog by bestowing a new bloggin moniker on a former republican, turned auditing political opportunist City Controller Wendy "the formerly Valley Greuel"..

In the wake of her "groundbreaking endorsements" from the likes of Senator Barbara Boxer, Assembly Speaker John Perez, CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar and fundraisers hosted by the connected wind energy speculator Ari Swiller, we are honor to bestow the moniker of “Villar Greuel” on the formerly known “Valley Greuel”.

In Saturday’s debate, the newly bestowed “Villar Greuel”, showed that she shares the same opportunist proclivities as the former Tony Villar of City Terrace, by her attack on supposed “Radical Right-Wing Radio Host” and fellow mayoral candidate Kevin James.

The “Villar Greuel’s” planned attack on James may prove costly in more way than one. First, when your campaign consultant is none other than “Private Citizen/ Political Consultant" Johns Shallman, the cost of planning an attack on your debate opponent, is likely to be way above the market rate. Second, unlike other consultants who are true to their political beliefs, Shallman (or was it his wife?) is not above making seven-figures bank, from the likes of  I.E. group “ED Voice”, who had connections with the supposed “Radical Right Wing” Walton Family and the Tea Party.

The “Villar Greuel” should also remember that many in the San Fernando Valley’s CD 2 will remember her attempt to carpetbag Chris Essel into her former City Council seat. CD 2 constituents may also remember who appointed Chris Essel to the head of the defunct CRA LA. None other than the “Villar Greuel‘s” namesake and out-going Mayor Antonio Villar.

** The Downtown News Editor and "Scribe of Wit" Jon Regardie has his second installment of the "Super Fantastic Mayor's Race Quiz". We excerpt this quiz question.

4) Which event did not cause Wendy "the Villar Greuel" to send out an email to supporters asking for money? a) August 2012 arrived b) the end of the September 2012 filing period was 11 hours away c) a Super PAC was established on behalf of Republican candidate Kevin James d) USC played UCLA in football e) Wendy got a new puppy f) the 2013 mayoral election was exactly one year away g) the 2013 mayoral election was exactly 100 days away

** The Downtown News in its latest edition calls upon the City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson, to apologize to former Mayor Richard Riordan for his disgusting behavior at a recent City Clowncil meeting, I"ll bet a 30 day suspension from City Council Public Comment, that "Mini Amin" replies NYET to the Downtown Weekly.

** What would a Monday be without the Daily News Rick Orlov's "Tipoff Column", where you can find out what side the various Los Angeles politicos will take, in regards to the proposed sale tax hike?

Questions regarding Mayor Antonio Villar's GRYD Program, awarding of sub contracts to politically connected non-profits.
Legacy LA employees Issac Caldera (left) and George Sarabia (right, **or is it "Jorge Villapudua"?) with Hollenback LAPD Sargent Marquez.

The 2013 mayoral candidates may want to opine how a politically connected non-profit like Legacy LA could be awarded contracts , when one of its employees has an alias that is unknown to most of the community, which he works with. Maybe the reason for the alias has to do with the follow "past episode"?.
It is Jorge Villapudua AKA: George Sarabia
Date of birth is May 2, 1970 Hispanic Male, height 70 inches, weight 160 pounds, black hair and brown eyes Arresed on March 1, 2008 by Los Angeles Police, Hollenbeck Division booking number 1197275.  Referred to LA Muni court, Division 83.  The charge is not listed.

But when you pay the "proper tribute" to Mayor Villar, then the community be damned when someone living a double life is paid to work with "youth at risk", in sensitive areas.

06/27/08 Maria Lourdes Calanche (Instructor, LA Community College District) Los Angeles, CA 90031 Antonio Villaraigosa Mayor 1305101 - Antonio R. Villaraigosa for Mayor 2009 A - Monetary Contribution Received (IND - Individual) [Period: 01/01/08-06/30/08] $1,000.00

Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Halloween 2012

Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee Strongman Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson wants half-cent sale tax hike on ballot.
Los Angeles City Clowncil Central Committee President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson.

Appetite for (economic) trouble ..........
As the country nears an Election Day repudiation of President Barack "H" Obama's Big Government/Higher Taxes philosophy, there are still some within the fail state of "Greece on the Pacific", who cling to the  belief that raising taxes, is the only solution to sustain an unaccountable government beast.
Sadly, Wesson's proposal was all too predictable, considering the Labor/Left stronghold on City Hall. Instead of dealing bluntly with runaway labor costs that are eating away at General Fund expenditures, Mini Amin Wesson and most of his Clowncil Central Committee colleagues will support creating another revenue drain from the wallets of Angelinos, to sustain the unaccountable excesses at 200 N. Spring Street.
**  Our bloggin colleague and former campaign, errrrrr, CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar Social Media Consultant Ed Headington, continues his forlorn hope of becoming the anglo incarnation of his former boss Assemblyman Gil Cedillo. Headington faces an uphill challenge to beat Scott Wilk for the open seat in the 36th Assembly District.
** The Old Gray, Obama-Loving Hag on Spring Street, has the background on two Democratic Bad Boys in the San Gabriels Valley, who's escapades may lead to Republican pick ups in the Assembly..
** Karma can be a political B-I T-C-H, just ask the Big Billboard pandering duo of CD 1 City Councilman Ed "Billboard Density" Reyes and CD 2 City Councilman Paul "Pandering" Krekorian, who efforts to gain political favors from Big Billboard, has a pending day in court.

Bloggin Happy Hour Missive on the perils of Over Indulgence

Drunk with Daddy, City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson's Power ..... or just Drunk?
Drinking and Driving is an "Appetite for Trouble" for "Mini Amin Wesson" son Justin Wesson (allegedly).

It seems that many dictators in recent times have sons who live large lives. The late Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein had Uday, the late North Korean Cult Figure Kim Jong Il, has that little chubby kid now running North Korea and City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson? Meet Justin ....... as he awaits his day before the judge.
The bloggin facts ..........
Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson's son, a member of the lawmaker's City Hall staff, was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of drunk driving, authorities said Tuesday.
Justin Wesson, one of Wesson's legislative deputies, was stopped at a DUI checkpoint at 9th and Figueroa streets, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for City Atty. Carmen Trutanich. He was taken into custody Saturday about 8:15 p.m. and released the following day, according to Sgt. Ben Zucker of the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division.
In a statement, the councilman said his son was not driving a city vehicle at the time of the arrest.  “Drinking and driving is against the law. I’m grateful that no one was injured,” he said.
"Within the office, appropriate action will be taken," Wesson said. Ed Johnson, Wesson's spokesman, would not elaborate.
Justin Wesson, 30, was hired by the city in July 2011 and earns $54,434 annually working for his father, who represents neighborhoods stretching from Koreatown to the Crenshaw Boulevard corridor. The younger Wesson regularly attends City Council meetings, sometimes sitting next to his father’s chair.
Johnson would not discuss Justin Wesson’s duties in the council office. "No further comment is no further comment," he said.
In 2005, during his first run for City Council, Wesson's campaign committee paid his son $10,333 for consulting work, according to Ethics Commission records.
Arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 18. The case will be referred to Trutanich's office for review and blood-alcohol results are pending, Mateljan said.

.... don't let son of politicos get drunk with delusions of "daddy's power" (allegedly).

Breaking News!! Councilwoman Perry states "Wesson is Right!!"

We bring you this rare moment of agreement with video background from 2013 Mayoral Candidate/CD 9 City Councilwoman Jan Perry and City Council President Herb Wesson.
City Council President Herb Wesson, "the sole protector of  self in the African-American Community.

Dear Friends,
There’s an important story in the Los Angeles Times today about redistricting. Council President Herb Wesson, in the article, notes that there are different factions facing each other at City Hall.  I agree.
There are indeed two distinct factions at play in City Hall, one that fights for the insiders and power brokers and the other that fights for the average Angeleno.
Mr. Wesson and his friends on the Council have done an amazing job protecting the powerful and fighting for their own interests, while systematically betraying the residents of Los Angeles along the way.
The second faction, the one I’m proud to be a part of, fights for the average citizen whose voice is routinely shut out of our political process and who has no voice on how our city is governed.
I hope you’ll read the story and join me in our fight to make Los Angeles work for us once again.
Sincerely,
Jan Perry

...... and this on the possible future reconciliation between Wesson and Parks/ Perry via Herb.

Early Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Wednesday

Page 1 of Koreatown Activists Lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles over Redistricting 2012.

Great early morning to all as we quickly get started on a news pack August 1, 2012.
** As we first reported here at Mayor Sam, Koreatown Activists filed a lawsuit seeking to overturn the final backroom-drawn boundaries agreed upon by the City o Los Angeles Redistricting Committee. With the first of what could become multiple lawsuits on Redistricting 2012 on file as of yesterday, you can bet that City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson will not be discussing his alleged role in the Redistricting backrooms anytime soon (unless under oath).
** Former SEIU 6434 General Manager Tyrone Freeman is looking at alot of non-union time making license plates as a Federal Grand Jury returned multiple indictments against LA County Board of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas favorite ex. union strongman. According to the indictments, Freeman and wife live the high life on the backs of low-paid union members dues. Many observers are wondering if Freeman will sing regarding what was an alleged plan to raise union dues and for workers to support the campaign of now Board of Supervisor Member Ridley Thomas?
** CD 14 City Councilman Jose Huizar was successful in getting a vote on the March ballot to create a special downtown tax district to finance his Broadway Choo Choo. But as Hillel Aron reports in the "Weekly of Record", will downtown residents want to pay more taxes when many are "under water" with their respective mortgages?
** The political office hopping of currently CD 2 City Councilman Paul Krekorian, will remain on hold as the first full term CD 2 City Councilman announces that he is not running for City Attorney. BTW, great show of discipline by Krekorian's staffers not to comment on this issue when asked in a City Hall elevator.
** July 31 was deadline day for municipal candidates to file their latest fundraising reports with the Ethics Commission. In the 2013 Mayoral Contest, City Controller Wendy "The Valley Greuel" and CD 13 City Councilman Eric Garcetti, were mere hundreds of dollars apart at the $2.2 Million dollar mark. Look tomorrow before our report on the 2013 money race.
** City Controller Candidate Dennis "The Valley Zine" is puffing out his chest again in indignation of city employees who are watching the London Olympics on city computers during work time. Is that me or do I here the political sirens of the ambulance-chasing auditor Wendy "The Valley Greuel"?
** Saving the best laugh for last, Ron Kaye has his thoughts on Yahoo's "Villar for President" story, but the City Terrace native is not without ambition

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Council President Wesson discusses 2012 Redistricting with African-American Clergy, Part 5

The last part of Mayor Sam's Multi-Part Series on City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson discussing Redistricting 2012 with members of the African-American Clergy.
In Part 5, City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson explains why his city council colleagues worked behind close doors to move the Santa Barbara Plaza from Councilman Parks CD 8 to CD 10. This brief video clip gives you a quick expose what Redistricting 2012 was all about, dividing the spoils among like-minded allies.
The former Santa Barbara Plaza now Marlton Square.
City Council President Herb Wesson discussing why Santa Barbara Plaza/ Marlton Square was added to CD 10.

Simple question for business owners, who would you rather have as a council person to help your business grow? A labor left ally in City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson or a true pro-business council person Bernard Parks?

If what City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson is telling the African-American Clergy in the video clip above is true, somewhere, in a undisclosed backroom, the twelve other members of the city council along with Wesson, decided that for you without your input.

Its clear in this clip that Redistricting 2012 was not just about redrawing council district boundaries to ensure that the many City of Los Angeles ethnic enclaves were guarantee an inclusive voice at City Hall. More important was the need to divide the economic spoils among the power brokers in the backroom dealings that have become to symbolize Redistricting 2012.

...... and if you believe the speculation of some in the Korean American Community, maybe another reason why CD 10 now includes parts of the Crenshaw Mall and Marlton Square is that Council President Mini Amin Wesson has "innovated techniques" to create revenue streams to sustain his political agenda, as the video below will attest to?
Koreatown Activist Jimmy Chai speaks on alleged corruption in CD 10.

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Council President Wesson discusses 2012 Redistricting with African-American Clergy, Part 4

Mayor Sam's Multi-Part Series on City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson discussing Redistricting 2012 with members of the African-American Clergy
In Part 4, City Council President Herb Wesson passes the blame/ passes the buck to another City Council member ( CD 12's Mitch Englander according to sources), when confronted by an African-American Clergy member about not allowing clergy to speak on Redistricting 2012.
Did City Council President Herb Wesson order colleague CD 12 City Councilman Mitch Englander to forward the Motion, not allowing members of the African- American Clergy to comment on the effects of Redistricting 2012?
Member of the African-American Clergy confronts City Council President Herb Wesson.

Make no doubt that City Council President Herb Wesson will never be mistaken as a Harry Truman Democrat.

Unlike the last good Democratic President of the United States who was famous for his "The Buck Stops Here" placard on the Oval Office desk, Council President "Mini Amin" Wesson will waste no time in passing the buck/ blame when it affects his political standing, as the video above will attest to.

When confronted by an esteem member of the African-American Clergy on why their comments were not allowed during the Redistricting 2012 vote at City Hall, "Mini Amin" Wesson could only reply "it wasn't me".

"Mini Amin" Wesson goes on to state that another council person had called for the Motion to end discussion as a message to the "two other council persons" that debate was over and the " new backroom created, city council boundaries" (blogger comment) would be approved without further public input.

So who was that council person that Council President "Mini Amin" Wesson order, whoops, took the imitative to motion for an end to public input regarding Redistricting 2012? According to sources, it was West Valley RINO CD 12 City Councilman Mitch Englander..

In closing, the irony here as members of the African-American Clergy were denied their right to speak on the "soon to be litigious" Redistricting 2012 proceedings, "Mini Amin Wesson" was allowing both sides, ample time to comment on this week's controversial vote to ban front-door Marijuana Dispensaries in the City Of Los Angeles.

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Council President Wesson discusses 2012 Redistricting with African-American Clergy, Part 3

Mayor Sam's Multi-Part Series on City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson discussing Redistricting 2012 with members of the African-American Clergy.
In Part 3, did City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson "bear false witness in the House of God" regarding neighboring Councilpersons Parks and Perry? Further, could a future legal proceeding under discovery, want to know what the other twelve councilpersons were seeking from the reigning City Council President?
From the LA Weekly. "What spoils were the various City Council members seeking from their reigning President Herb Wesson?
In this video clip, City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson attempts to counter the premise of Dr. Davis that African-American Council Districts lost assets during Redistricting 2012. Also take note of Wesson's comment regarding the requests of the twelve other councilperson and his gain of assets from CD 8. Then there is something about the LA Live Complex being moved and then put back in CD 9.

Memo to my Baptist Brother Herb Wesson,
Paraphrasing your comments from Part 1 of these video clips of your "Q and A" with members of the African-American Clergy regarding the soon to become the litigious Redistricting 2012 proceedings, "I am you and you are I", when it comes to our respective Baptist upbringings. Further, I, like you, agree that there are two sides to an issue, especially in the political world. You, like myself are most likely well verse in the Ten Commandments, especially the commandment about "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor" (.... or fellow African-American City Council colleagues).
That said Brother Herb, this fellow Baptist must take you to task for some of your questionable  comments, especially when made in a House of God, but accord you the respect of giving your side of the story'
First Brother Herb, you stated that partly because of your diminutive, solitary efforts, the AEG LA Live Complex was returned to within the new CD 9 boundaries after your city council colleagues had sought to move it elsewhere. But this initial draft map from Febuary 15, 2012 contradicts your comments.

Care to give your side of the story Brother Herb?
Second Brother Herb, paraphrasing your comments about single-handedly protecting the assets of the African-American Community while balancing the "requests" of the other twelve council members who had come to you (included one unelected candidate Joe Buscaino). How were these redistricting requests process? In a backroom under the guidance of former staffer, turned Redistricting Commission Executive Director Andrew Westall? Can we petition records of these 'requests" under the California Public Records Act? Will you elaborate on these "requests', "if served", in a future court proceeding (or plural form?)?

Care to give your side of the story Brother Herb?
Third Brother Herb, you stated that those in the neighboring Eighth Council District who wanted to become part of CD 10, did under their own accord. Meanwhile, those who wanted to stay in CD 8, were left as is when the final boundaries were approved. Further, you stated that the Crenshaw Plaza Mall was left intact in CD 8. But this passage from the Downtown News about "the cleaving of the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Plaza Mall into two districts and the comedic response from Councilman Bernard Parks, again, highlight contradictions in your remarks to the members of the clergy.
” He was harsher a week later when he noted that redistricting cleaved the Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw Plaza mall into two districts. Referring to the diminutive council president, Parks wrote, “Councilmember Herb Wesson and his ‘non-tourage’ actually drew the lines to ensure businesses like Macy’s and Buffalo Wild Wings would be split from the rest of the shopping center and placed into his district. I don’t know… maybe he likes short ribs.”

Care to give your side of the story Brother Herb?
In closing Brother Herb, we share the same desires to look forward to a better tomorrow, but we both know that there will come a day when we must stand before our maker and atone for our time on this earth. The question for you Brother Herb is whether your comments before the members of the clergy in a House of God, will prompt a summons to stand before a jury of your peers, before answering to the highest order?

Care to respond Brother Herb?

Mayor Sam Exclusive: Council President Wesson discusses 2012 Redistricting with African-American Clergy, Part 2

Mayor Sam's Multi-Part Series on City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson discussing Redistricting 2012 with members of the African-American Clergy.
In Part Two, did City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson "offer up on the political platter" rookie City Councilman Joe Buscaino's CD 15 seat to the African-American Community in 2013?
Rookie City Councilman Joe Buscaino might want to watch his political backside around City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson.
Saying a prayer for the political soul of City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson.

Memo to CD 15 City Councilman Joe Buscaino,

First, we here at Mayor Sam hope you and the family had a great vacation during the just completed summer recess of the City Council. After your refreshing election to replace now Congresswoman Janice Hahn and your subsequent actions in office (we love your integration of new and social media as part of community outreach), you are deserving of some quality time with the family.

As you return today to your duties within the horseshoe, we like to bring your attention to this video above of City Council President Herb Wesson at a recent meeting of African-American clergy in South LA. Now we don't know the status of your current relationship with your CD 10 colleague, but from what we could gather from the comments made, it seems that Council President Wesson suggested that your council seat could be facing a challenge in 2013.

Now lets get real, your recent victory and the coalition that was the foundation for it, is not going to lose anytime soon in CD 15. The only way you can lose your employment as City Councilman in the next three terms, is to stray from the path of ethical political and personal behavior. Judging from your character, that is not going to happen.

But Council President Wesson's comments should cause you to pause and give thought to who are your true political friends. We should note that Council President Wesson was one of your first endorsements from the current council. Now he is the first to offer up your seat in the name of political self-preservation. You don't need those types of political allies. But then that is the nature of the political beast.

In closing, we wish you nothing but the best in your political endeavors in CD 15 and we will always have your back, unlike a certain city council colleague.
